And >> Valerie, come here. >> Valerie, come here. >> Mom, stop. >> Come here. Stop. >> I can go pee. >> Stop. Stop. I shouldn't be sitting here right now. I raised that baby for the last 15 and 1/2 years on my own. Bro, how what have you done for a kid, let alone five more? Nothing, right? You ain't even got a child, huh? >> She just kicked it at him. >> She just kicked it out of you. >> Don't sit here and say that was a threat. Really, >> parents should be their children's first line of defense. But when parents are the ones who are a threat to their children, law enforcement needs to step in before things get ugly. Time is of the essence when good cops rescue teens from psycho parents. >> You guys are freaks. >> Can you let me talk for a second? I got it up in the front. >> You're a freak. >> Whoever put me in the back of there and made me peel myself is a freak. On January 14th, 2024, citizens heard a couple arguing, followed by the man threatening the woman's children. That was scary enough to prompt the witnesses to call the police. >> Don't walk away, ma'am. Don't walk away. Come here. Come here. >> Said he was going to knock off my son. >> Put your hands down. Drop your Put it down. Let go of whatever's in your hand right now. >> I don't care. He's not going anywhere. That's [ __ ] Please get out of this car. Watch. >> Stop pulling. >> I'm not pulling. >> You are pulling. I am. She has. >> Stay right. Stay right there for me. >> No. Why? >> Because I Because I told you to. >> Why me? >> Because I told you to. Cuz we're going to come talk to you in a second. >> Because I said so. >> More about it. >> If you don't want to listen to me, you can go in handcuffs, too. >> Why? No way. Nothing. >> Drunkie. No way. No, you man. >> Stop. >> Why you this talking like this? >> I I warned you. Put your hands behind your back. >> When the officers arrived, they quickly realized a female had a warrant. As they were detaining her, her boyfriend intervened and was about to be arrested as well. The neighbors probably hoped they'd finally have some peace and quiet, but they were sorely mistaken. >> Right now, I said so. Hey. Hey. Hey. Yeah. Yeah, man. Yeah. You want to get in there? >> Go help him. Hey, I got to access the power. Turn around bungee back, >> sister. Back. Okay. Okay. I don't know. No. No. Not my kids. >> My kids. >> I told you. Why you this supposed to comply? >> You got a problem. >> Right now. >> Okay. Okay. Put it. >> Give me one more. >> Put it. Put it. You got a problem. Just minutes after arriving at the location, the officers were already able to put two suspects in custody. But their job was far from over. The man played tough. And the woman, she turned up the volume, screaming and wailing as she was being dragged to the squad car. >> Got your camera on? >> Yep. >> Get in. >> You got your camera? >> Yeah, it's on. Get in. Get in the car. I'll help you. Where's your supervisor? >> You'll get them in a minute. Climb in the car. >> You hear my huskies? Oh, you guys are >> Don't you I promise you I'm here. >> Get in. Look, you guys. >> Out of shape. I'm You out of shape, mother. >> Why are you so out of breath? >> Oh, you going to come for the kids and dog? You in trouble tonight. >> Shut up and get in the car to get Shut up and get in the car. >> Come on. Good. Cut four. >> I hide, my friend. You get a problem. >> Okay. >> Right here. >> Okay. >> You get real quick. >> Wait a minute. >> No. This is like this. >> She has a warrant. >> She has a warrant. >> You I got excessive power. >> Excessive power. >> Yes. >> No. >> The couple do not appear to be model citizens, let alone good parents. If this is how they act with law enforcement, just imagine what they did behind closed doors. >> Get in the car and we will help you. >> One, >> I want to tell you how you guys doing that. >> Three. >> Okay, I'm going to get in. >> Get out, Josh. >> Josh, >> that's how that works. You want manhandle? >> There's my kids. One more is coming. Watch them. >> Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, man. >> Thank you, Thank you. Thank you, man. >> Are you Javier? >> No. >> Who are you? >> I'm my mom's son. What happened? >> Who are you? >> My mom's son. What happened? >> Are you Javier or this >> the 14-year-old son? >> Okay. >> She just said he hit my mom. What happened? >> Everyone's being detained right now because they want to start arguing. >> Are you okay? >> Is my mom okay? >> Yeah. Everything's okay. >> Who else is in the house with you? >> My little sister. out here. >> Can you do me a favor? >> What? >> Can you go and make sure she's okay? And we'll check with you in a minute. Okay. >> The children were clearly traumatized, but the 14-year-old kid had it worse, having to defend himself from his mom's boyfriend. Even worse, he was actually also defending his mom from getting assaulted. As if that wasn't enough, he now had to deal with his mom going to jail. To make matters worse, the man might even be released. >> There's an end to this where you come. >> No, that's not in the story, man. >> Okay. I'm trying to talk to you and you're not listening to me. >> No, you're not listening to me. >> I am listening to you. I want you to listen to me. Okay. There is a version of which the handcuffs come off and we let you go home. >> No, man. Let me I got it. The man you and your partner for XX the power and resist. >> That's it. I can't I don't So here's where we're at. It's okay. >> Based on the story that Javier is >> Let's go to court, man. >> Okay. >> Looks at the power. >> Well, no, we didn't. >> Yes, man. I see you. The people exist at the power. >> You need Can you listen to me? >> Yeah. No, you listen to me. >> I'm trying to, but you just keep talking over me. So, >> here's where we're at. >> I see the excuses, man. >> The 14-year-old said that you made a >> Say what? >> Stop yelling at me and I'll tell you. >> Okay. Huh? No. Say nothing, man. >> The man was agitated and did not listen to a word the officer was trying to tell him. He just kept accusing the cop of using excessive force, but he was not nearly as annoying as his girlfriend turned out to be, who was also quick to go into victim mode. >> They choke me. I can't breathe. Please look at the video. I just need I can't breathe in here. They told me >> All right. All right. Well, I got medical started. Can you hear me? I'm going to read you your rights real quick. All right. Do you understand these rights? I need a yes or no, BB. Bi, do you understand those rights as I've explained them to you? >> Yes. No. Maybe. So, okay. Well, we hear you, BB. And we have medical coming for you. >> I told you guys to help me. Shut up. >> Well, we're trying to investigate that. Can you tell us what? >> Shut up. Are you kidding me? >> That's a investigate nothing. Hey BB, you yelling is not going to move this conversation along. >> I don't care. You guys choked me. I threw up and I'm peeing on my stuff. What else do you want? I called you for my son's phone. >> The officers agreed they should get the suspect to the jail ASAP, mainly so she could use the bathroom, but one of them revealed he already had a runin with her in the past. Turns out this is not the first time she pulled one of these stunts. >> I'm sorry I threw up in your car and I'm going to piss and it's probably going to be some in here in about 10 minutes if I don't have a place to go to the bathroom. I'm 50 years old. Get out of my face with your bull. I don't have the right to remain silent. >> We'll be on our >> Okay. Bye. >> She's kicking. I'm not going back. >> She calms down for the better. Yeah, she has a history of uh making false claims about not breathing and all different types. >> I think the last time I had her custody, she peed pulled down her pants and book in the book near the bookie ladder and peed on the ground. >> Get back in the car. >> Rocky, >> baby, you need to stop. >> You need to stop. >> I asked. >> Get back in the car. We're getting you medical. >> My pants are coming down. Let me pee. Remember last time? >> I remember last time we were just talking about that. >> Let me just I'm I'm not trying to be funny. The woman appears to have a strange sense of humor. Alcoholics getting into arguments and threatening children. That's not funny by any stretch of the imagination. If anything, it's sad for them and tragic for their children. >> I'm one of my men though. Are you kidding me? You psycho weirdo. >> BB, are you uh still requesting medical? If not, we can get you down to the hospital or get you down to the jail. >> Can you get me to the hospital? No, >> we're going to get you down to the jail. I need medical. >> Pull your pants up. >> I can't. >> You want us to help you pull your pants up? >> Pull them off. Put this >> Okay, listen to me. Are you kidding? >> There's a There's a towel right there. We're going to >> We're going to throw it on the seat for you, but you need to get in there. Okay. >> You're such a weirdo. >> Open the door, you dummy. Where am I going to go? >> Let's just have a weirdo. >> All right. >> My is hanging out, freak. Where am I going to go? Where am I going to run to? You guys are freaks. >> You let me talk for a second. >> I got you up in the front. >> You're a freak. >> Whoever put me in the back of there and made me peel myself is a freak. >> Eventually, the long night came to an end. The male suspect was charged with obstruction and resisting. The female was taken to jail on her existing warrant. On May 5th, 2023, a 911 call came in, but was quickly disconnected. During that short call, the dispatcher heard people arguing in the background. So, a unit was dispatched to the location to investigate. lemonade. >> Hi. Did you call us? What happened? >> Yeah, I need to go up here and get my son. Well, what? Tell us what's going on. >> I don't know, but I have custody over my son. So, come on. Is this your apartment here? >> Yeah. Okay. right here. >> It was pretty suspicious why the woman had to quickly make it known that she had custody of her son. After allowing the cops to go inside, the woman called them into the back room. As they approached her, she continued walking through the house, which puzzled the officer. >> I'm not going to follow you into any more rooms until you tell me why we are here. >> My name is >> Okay. So, what's >> my son is a liar because he has a point of life. He has a good grave point, Alex, but he's >> and then so what dude's head came down to it and now you want to sit over there and you want to lie to me. I have custody over you. >> I am trying. I am doing this as a woman as a single woman on my own. Ain't no section ain't no link. I am doing this like this dude is supposed to be doing this and that and the third but come on now I'm your mother and then guess what I have to be I have to be the cool person then I have to be the authority person and then I have to still be within whatever it is to be a parent but first of all that's my child >> her slurred speech and nonsensical rants made it obvious she was drunk but Being drunk isn't a crime. What the officers needed to figure out was whether any crime had actually been committed. And for that, they had to find her son. >> A Where is your child at? >> My child is up here. And let's go. >> Up where? >> Where? >> And then you going to come on here. Wherever. >> Where is he at? Where is it? A different apartment. Are we going to a different house? Like I need I need more details. >> And then it's apartment B right here. >> So he's in apartment B. >> Yes. with a friend or who does he know in a partner? >> I don't know who he is, but am I going to come get my child? >> Okay. So, who is he with >> or so y'all won't get the out? >> I can do either one, but I need >> So, I'm asking you, yes, I have jurisdiction that is my child and now he is mad because now I have to be two sides. Just cuz I'm a woman, I have to be two sides. I have to be authority. Then plus I have to be friends with you. Then plus I have to How old is he? >> He's 13. >> Okay. >> It's not easy for single moms to raise children. But it is not an excuse for alcohol abuse. If this woman had been sober, maybe she would have handled her son's situation better. And at that point, she'd already started to become disrespectful towards law enforcement. >> I'm happy to help you. I I first of all, you're not you're not going to snap your fingers at me. >> And I'm not trying to ask to, but this is my son. Hey, no man gave for him. It don't matter within like you're a boss. It doesn't matter if they like you. >> What happens is they supposed to respect you. >> Let's go talk to your son. What's his name? Stop banging on my damn >> Where is my shot? >> Hey y'all. >> Can you tell us? >> Do you see what I'm saying, bro? That's why that's exactly why he's up there. That's exactly why she >> That's exactly why he's up there. >> That escalated fast. The woman was very agitated and very drunk. And combining rage with alcohol is never a good thing. And by the looks of it, this is not the first time she has had an altercation with her neighbor. >> I told you, go your ass upstairs, get you some sleep, and sleep that junk off. You doing this in front of your >> And then Okay. >> No. And then Okay. >> Right now, you're being detained for trespassing. >> Detained for in my own building. Okay. >> I don't need to go for her. >> No idea what's going on. >> I got her kids. No, you are lying. send us another call >> and then we'll get we'll get the story once we get her >> cuz she's got her daughter is coming too in a couple more minutes from school. So I was going to bring her up here too. >> We'll get the story in a second. I I truly have really no idea what's not detained. So I'm recording for trespassing within my own home. >> You don't live in number two. >> Well, I don't live in number two, but it's still my building. That doesn't matter. >> Okay, then let's go. >> Let's go, Miss Lenn. We're going to wait till we have someone else that can help us walk you down the stairs. >> Let's go. >> The suspect kept trying to take control of the situation, interrupting and acting like she was in charge. But it was obvious things weren't going her way. According to her neighbor, she'd been struggling with a drinking problem for a long time. >> If I don't get my son, I swear to God. That's on you. >> Some accountability and responsibility >> and then some responsibility slow. We don't want >> walk slow. >> You telling me I trespass on where I live at. Trespass on where someone else was at. >> You go on. Just get in. >> Don't resist. Okay. >> Hey, you can talk to us. >> Get up. >> No. >> Aren't going to do it. Hey, we're going to stand you up. >> We're going to stand you up. >> Hold up. >> The suspect went limp, which may be considered resisting arrest without violence. Eventually though, the officers managed to lift her up and get her into the car. After securing her, they went back to speak with the neighbor to figure out exactly what had happened. >> I just leave her in there. >> So, so what's going on? >> Nothing. I came downstairs to get a blow dry from her, but you know, they was having problems. He locked himself in his room. Here go y'all mail right here. >> And then I seen her open the door and she comes out and trying to strike him. And I'm like, "Girl, you can't do that." Like says to me, bro, cuz she drunk obviously she out of her mind. So he knows me and he knows my son. They hang out and stuff like that. So >> So what's your relation with her? >> Nothing. She Yeah. I just know them since he was a baby. Since he wasn't even walking. So he's friends with your son? >> Yeah. Friends with my son. >> Can I see him? >> Yeah. Come on. >> How's it going by? So what happened to him, man? >> He was already drunk. >> Mhm. >> I went, she started talking to me about some stuff that happened at the library. Me and my sister like cuz there was some kids at the library at Christmas. So me and my sister went upstairs to like from the team room to the kids room and we was playing ACRI and so she got mad like about something. I don't know. >> Your mom got mad. >> Mhm. >> The young boy told officers his mom was trying to do a no drinking challenge, but clearly she failed. She got upset about something that happened yesterday. Realizing she was drunk, he did what he probably always does. Went into his room and tried to block it all out. But it didn't work. >> What happened today? When did you start drinking? >> Last night. >> Last night. And it just gone came on to today then. >> Mhm. >> So, did you stay here with your neighbor for since yesterday then? >> No. I came up this morning cuz when she had struck me in the face when I opened the door and let John in and he protected me and brought me up in >> So, you can't even get the Stop. >> Stop. >> And you stop. >> Stop. Stop. >> No. I ain't this. And I said I ain't this. >> If you take it off, I'm just going to write you a ticket. >> You better need a ticket in July. I'm going to need at least 4 months off for that. >> The neighbor agreed to take care of the kid until she came back from jail. He also refused to press any charges against her. According to him, she wasn't a bad person. She just had a bad drinking problem. As for her, she was still struggling to understand what's going on. >> Yeah. What are my charges? Trespassing and resisting a peace officer. cooperative. >> All right. But look though, bro. You should have been over there with him. >> I ain't did. But then you lied. So, bro, now you >> We're going to go on number four. I don't even know who you were talking to. >> Now you allowed a child to go. >> I didn't allow anybody to do anything. Okay. This way, please. >> Oh, no. It is going down on the bench and stay there. >> And I'm telling you, this is going >> You don't even know who you're talking to. >> Watch your fingers. Watch your fingers. Watch your fingers. >> Stop. We were sleeping on the ground. >> Stop. >> Sit down. >> As if it wasn't enough that she assaulted her son, she also pushed the officer. Her drunken meltdown resulted in charges of resisting arrest, trespassing, and assaulting a peace officer. On April 26th, 2024, concerned neighbors called the police after hearing a domestic dispute. They reported a woman allegedly abusing her child. >> Do you know where she is? >> Yeah, we know where she I had her for a minute, but I had to leave. So, I sort of left her with the other neighbors here. >> Okay. >> And uh I didn't check in. Well, I was coming home and when she saw me, she waved to me and she said, "Get her away from me." And >> Valerie said, "Get her away from me." >> And um and she also was like asking hoping for her big sister. And then another neighbor was able house. And so that's when I sort of like got her here and then since I had to leave I I left her with Palong and Leah here told me what she said I think my mom is drunk and she was upset and she was uh wanted you know one of her siblings and I I think maybe she like was hoping to get in touch with her older sister who she said was in Lafayette but she didn't know her phone number. As far as the neighbors know, the female suspect, Valerie, had a total of 10 kids and seven of whom lived with her at the time of the incident. The officer interviewed some of the kids and found out that Valerie had gone to a nearby nail salon, which was not that difficult to find. >> Valerie, come here. Stop. Get over here. >> Get over here. >> They saw that I didn't do anything. >> Okay, Valerie, get over here. >> Sit down. Okay, >> sit down. >> What is your problem, bro? >> Can you bring him inside? >> Can you bring him inside? >> Can I go pee? >> Stay right there. >> No. >> I know. Do you see this? Please take note of this >> cuz I've done nothing wrong. >> No, you guys can go for >> Valerie, come here. Valerie. Come here. >> Mom, stop. >> Come here. Stop. >> I can go pee. >> Stop. Stop. >> Drunk people have a habit of downplaying their own actions and blaming everyone else. Valerie was no different. She kept saying she hadn't done anything wrong and acted like she was the victim. And there's also one thing drunk people always say. >> I can't stop. >> Stop. Sit down. >> Okay, >> I will stand right here. Do you guys see this? >> Stop pulling your arm. Do you guys I'm not doing anything. >> Stop pulling. Stop pulling. Stop. Sit down. >> Sit down. Stop doing Valerie. >> Oh my god. >> Stop. >> Don't even Stop. >> Stop. >> What? >> What are you doing to me? >> Stop. Stay put. Stop, Valerie. >> Oh my god, these two cops are on me. >> Valerie, stop. >> What did I do? What did I do? >> Valerie. >> Oh my god. >> Valerie was completely out of it, but not in a bad way. She wasn't aggressive or picking fights with the cops. Instead, she was more in a harmless, drunken haze. Not really understanding what was happening, but just going along with it. >> Trying to make sure your cuffs are comfortable. >> That's comfortable. Okay. And I did what? >> Stop moving. >> Stay still. >> Oh my god. >> Oh. >> What are you doing? >> What are you doing? I'm not doing anything. >> Oh, no you're not. You're just like >> This is the second time this week she said. >> I go back inside and then we'll have a chat with you after. Okay. Stop. >> What am I doing? >> Stop moving your arms. >> Oh, okay. I need not move my >> Oh my god. So why did >> she do that? >> I'm trying to stop. Valerie. So why are you doing that? >> You're going to get from more charges >> from >> obstruction. >> Correct. >> But the calm didn't last long. Being handcuffed and restrained was starting to take its toll on her. After all, you can't have fun with two officers restricting your movement. Valerie didn't seem like the type who likes being controlled. She was slowly but surely getting annoyed. >> What are you doing to me? >> Stop. What are we doing to >> Valerie? Stop. >> What are we doing here? [Music] >> What are you doing to me? Like what the >> makes you feel like Okay, >> stop. Valerie, stop it. >> What are you doing? >> Stop it. away from us. You're going to be laid down on the ground. >> Belly, do you understand? If you keep pulling away, we're going to lay you down on the ground. >> You're pulling out of your cuff, which is hurting your >> They're hurting me. >> Close the door. >> Dad, they're hurting me. >> Stop pulling away. The officers didn't want to risk hurting her by pulling her up, so they chose to wait for backup. In the meantime, Valerie was losing her patience. And surprisingly, she was still not sure why she was being detained in the first place. >> You guys are hurt. >> The reason it's hurting is because you keep pulling your cups. >> And what have I done? >> Still. >> And what have I done? >> We'll go over that in a second. Okay. Just stay still right now. Stop. Stop grabbing me. Okay. >> But I know I didn't do anything, so it's okay. >> Stop. >> Okay. >> Cross your legs. >> She We need to adjust the top, but we need to put her >> Stop. Stop. >> You don't have a fart like >> Let's do it. Let's push it. Let's see when we're at the car. >> Okay, Valerie, we're going to stand up and we're going to walk to that patrol car. >> Once the officers got Valerie to her feet, walking her to the squad car wasn't a problem anymore. However, patting her down was a whole different story. She didn't resist physically, but she more than made up for it by being loud and obnoxious. >> Separate your feet, [Music] >> Valerie. Stop. He's trying to adjust your cuff. Face the 911. >> Face the 911. >> What am I? >> Face the 911. >> Stop. >> What am I not? >> Stop moving. >> Stop moving. >> Make sure you catch this on video >> because I'm not doing anything wrong. >> Oh my god. Stop, Valerie. >> You hurt. >> When moaning didn't help, Valerie tried crying out to the neighbors for help, acting like she was being abused by the officers. Once again, she showed zero accountability for her actions and was merely desperate to get out of an uncomfortable situation. Please let me just go. Please let me go. >> All right, that just tightened again. >> Please let me go for >> Please let me go. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Stop, Valerie. >> Valerie. Valerie. >> Valerie. >> My arm. >> Yeah, they broke my collar, bro. My arm. >> Valerie. >> The officers tried everything to keep Valerie calm and cooperative. But the moment they got her in the car and shut the door, she started squirming around trying to slip out of her handcuffs. Hey, stop. Whatever you're doing, stop wiggling around. You're going in handcuffs. Stop trying to slip. >> What am I doing? >> What did you do? >> What am I doing? >> What are you doing? >> Yes. >> Trying to slip your cuffs. I'm sitting right here like whatever one of people do. >> We're going to get you to the hospital for a med clearance and then we're going to get you to jail. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> We told you to stop working around. >> So, just sit still. We're about to leave. >> After several more failed attempts to slip out of her handcuffs, Valerie finally gave up. She was taken to jail and charged with obstructing a police officer, child abuse causing injury, and child abuse without injury. On April 5th, 2024, a mother and daughter duo were returning from Chili's when someone reported them to the cops for drunk driving. Obviously, getting behind the wheel drunk is never a good idea, but at first, the daughter tried to justify her mom's behavior and downplay what happened. >> What's going on with her? >> She had a little bit too much drink. I don't want her to drive. Somebody's >> Yeah, it's my mom. >> Okay. >> She knows she can't drive. She drunk. Well, we just at Chili's right right? >> She drove here. >> She came from Chili's to here cuz we started driving as mom. She even said I have a wish in this park. Someone else can figure this out. >> So, she drove here with me. >> But she's >> Why didn't she drive? >> I don't drive. I don't have a license. >> She's okay. She just Hello. >> Adam Sam 83 David Adam. >> You're okay. >> I don't know who call. >> Yeah, somebody called the police. So, the two women got into the car at Chili's, but the daughter tried to justify it because they only drove just a short distance. However, even sitting in the car drunk with the key in the ignition is considered a DUI. >> Please do yourself a favor. >> Nobody's Nobody's driving. >> Do you have your identification? >> No, I don't. >> But you do have to provide that to me. I have not drove today. She did. >> Can you give me your identification, please? >> I have no identification. >> Can you check in your purse? >> I did. >> It It behooves you to to >> Honey, I have no identification. I have not drove this car. >> Okay. >> Per I drove her friend to this position. >> I have no record of driving. >> Okay. So, can you provide me with your driver's license? No, I don't. I have no job. >> From the moment she talked, it was clear that this woman wasn't going to be easy to deal with. So, the officer turned to her daughter to identify her mom, Melissa. And Melissa didn't skip a beat. She quickly threw her daughter under the proverbial bus. >> I'm here today. Why are you so painful, man? >> No. >> She needs to know that I have not been in occupation of this vehicle. >> I have not been in occupation of this vehicle. She >> I witnessed you coming out coming out of the driver. I pulled up. >> You may have witnessed it, but she asked me not to get her cuz she doesn't have a license. >> So, I have not drove. >> Okay. other than from there to this far. I have not drove other than letting her drive. >> It was hard to tell if Melissa was being deliberately annoying or if she just couldn't help herself. Either way, the officer remained calm and professional. And the more he let Melissa talk, the clearer it became that she would rack up more charges aside from the DUI. >> I don't like driving. >> Okay. Would you mind giving your license? >> I don't have any anything. to give you, sir. >> Okay. So, you're driving without a license as well. >> Um, I don't drive. >> I just witnessed you come from the driver's seat. >> Yes, but she asked me to move from there to there. >> All right. Three freaking parking spots to this spot. >> Why are you being so mean to me? >> I'm not being >> Yeah, you are. Cuz I'm actually licensed, which I know you clearly have, and you're you're refusing to provide it to me. I'm telling you, she asked me to move to this spot. That's it. >> No. >> Yes, sir. >> Who's a register owner of the vehicle, man? >> Uh, his name, right? >> Who Who's he to you? >> He is my master electrician, sir. >> Master electrician. >> Yes. Yes, sir. >> That's all he is. He There's no personal relationship. Okay. seat reclined and feet on the dashboard, Melissa didn't seem to grasp how serious the situation was. Melissa's daughter was clearly embarrassed by what's happening and understandably blamed her mom. It didn't take long for the two to start arguing. >> Quiet. >> Stephanie, >> where's Steph? >> Do you have somebody you can call? >> No, but where's Stephanie? I don't know a freaking Stephanie. What are you even talking about? I don't talking to Lily. >> Do you have anything with your name on it identifying you? No type of identification. >> Nothing. Her friend Stephen dropped us off at this spot. >> Um, how do you spell her name? Does she have Does she have a Florida license? >> I'm not going to lie to you guys. I don't know. >> Uh, does she have a Florida driver? >> I don't know what she's got. I don't really have a good relationship with her for obvious reasons. I wanted to have lunch with her today. Things just honestly got out of control. >> Ran that way. >> Okay, we got somebody looking for Stephanie. All right. And you confirmed there's no Stephanie, right? >> I'm her mother. I've never joked. >> Don't do that. Is your mother still alive? >> I'm her mother. >> I know, but you said on on your mother, right? >> No, my mom's alive. Yes. >> Swear to your mother. That's Stephanie. >> Stephanie ran. She don't have a license. What's Stephanie look like? >> She's a blond hair six skinny head. >> You're a sovereign citizen as well then? >> Yes, I am. I have put a 1040X on and I'm not no longer a part of the Federal Reserve. You cannot arrest me with any kind of signature. I am sovereign. You cannot arrest me under that law. >> Why are you yelling at me? >> I'm just telling you right now, I am sovereign. I'm not part of the Washington state. You can't do nothing to me. >> Nothing at all. >> Nothing. Look it up. >> As if she wasn't being annoying enough, Melissa suddenly remembered she was a sovereign citizen. The officer quickly turned to Emma, who confirmed her mom had an alcohol problem. As soon as she realized she wasn't getting any attention, Melissa had a mental breakdown. >> America was the only country. >> Okay, Miss I understand all that. How about you just lay back and calm down? All right. God, God gave us a sovereign nation. >> Pray for yourself right now. Okay, we'll pray for you. Just sit back and relax. [Music] Please fight for our country. >> Please fight for our country. >> Please fight for our country. The French attack, you know. Please. >> Melissa slowly spiraled into a bundle of tears, moaning, and nonsensical rants. Her daughter felt sorry for her and asked if she could give her a hug. As for the cops, they just tried to keep the mood light. >> They don't get it. You're either going to go to heaven or hell. That's it. >> No, I love them. They do [Music] >> They're having a conversation against each other. No, they're going to think about me. >> No, guess what? >> If you decipher one way or the other, you will be nashing your teeth. >> You will be nashing your teeth and so will your family. >> By the time the officers were ready to read her Miranda rights, Melissa had finally calmed down. She refused to talk to them anymore, still hoping she would be able to go home free. Her daughter knew better. And as soon as her ride arrived, she got out of there. Hey, can you please hold me as I can? >> I love you, too. Please just get together. >> I don't have to. >> You kind of do. >> No, I really don't. I know my rights. I study law. >> You don't have a right. >> What did I do wrong? >> He has nothing on video. He saw a girl running away. >> I don't know why I'm being arrested. >> Sorry. Never drove. I've been in a passenger seat. >> You never drove my car. >> I've never drove that car. >> Please. Thank you. >> Yes, sir. Here you have >> Watch your head. >> Yes, sir. >> On the ride to jail, Melissa passed the time by humming a song, which is a behavior the officers do not often see from Karen's. She was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to DUI testing, obstruction, and driving with a suspended license. [Music] On July 26th, 2024, a man got into a verbal argument with his teen daughter, and he let his anger issues get the best of him. >> No, nothing at all. I'm going back to the but are you take are you are you >> are you taking me to jail because I have other kids I need to know now >> you just need to know what's going on >> her mother sorry her mother called the cops on me because this is my child that I gave birth to but I was yelling at you right I was yelling at you and you couldn't find your mother's stuff then did you start yelling back yes or no okay so my child disrespected me I outlined like her mom was on the Oh, I said, "Hey, I'mma call your mother because we don't me." So, she know it's not me. But did what did her mom do first thing? Did you Did you Did your mom try to talk to you? Yes or no? To calm you down. Yes or no? >> Okay. Don't stop talking. >> The suspect's name is Raymond Turner, and his desire for control was already starting to show. At first glance, most parents who have had to care for teenage kids might empathize with him. But in this particular scenario, the cops had to step in. So, it was clear that the argument went past the usual family drama. >> It's not me, but if a 13-year-old is not listening, yelling, yelling back at me, why? Because stop. Nobody's talking to you, little girl. >> So, walk with Fanny. Walk with Fanny. >> That's what you're disrespectful. That's what I >> want to walk with her. She disrespected my mother. >> So, tell your mother to come get you. >> Okay, let me talk to >> No, she's on the phone. Come get her. Just try to calm down. Remember >> Okay. Okay. >> That's right. Stop. Little girl, >> just breathe. Come on. >> This is what I'm saying. Listen what I'm saying. Come here. Come here. Burn to you. Can we walk away, bro? >> Little girl, walk with Fanny. Listen what I'm saying. Take her to jail. >> Can you just Can you just walk? >> Take her to jail. >> Take her to jail. She don't want to listen. >> What's your name? >> Go take your ass to jail. >> What's your name? >> What's your name? >> I don't have a name. I don't want to go. I just came from work. That was the first time the officers had to prevent Turner from doing something he might regret, but it won't be the last. He explained this was his first child from a previous relationship. In his mind, her mother hadn't raised his daughter, right? Then sent her off to live with him for the summer. >> And I love my daughter, but when we get to this point, when your mother doesn't raise you or something, you come to me for the summer and I'm trying to make the best of it. >> I understand, >> then she's being disrespectful. Why? Why >> she has to go home? Because she has a some type of appointment. >> Okay. >> She she lost her and look, her mom hanged out. That's what I mean. >> It's not me, >> right? >> But she want to call the cops to do what? >> I don't know what she thought was occurring within. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Got a call from the mother. >> That's what I'm saying. What the Ask her what happened. >> We just came because you guys were arguing. That's >> That's my daughter. >> Again, we just >> I can yell at my daughter all I want. We don't know who was yelling inside the apartment or what's occurring in the >> unrespectful. I don't want to talk. >> I told you what happened. >> Yes. I don't have to talk anymore. >> Right. That's what I mean. >> Everything's fine. >> Go to the car with family so y'all can so she can drop you home. >> Look, walk to the car. Walk to talk to the officer. Walking to the car. >> Talk to the officer. Walk to the car. Leah, I love you. Whatever happened, we'll discuss it in a couple weeks when we both calm down. But we too much at edge. Seeing how wound up Turner was, it's easy to understand why the mother called the cops. He still seemed relatively calm. But when someone's that agitated, it only takes a small spark for them to blow up. Whatever happened, it happened already. It happened already. It happened already. So the phone the phone dead. If you come back, I won't turn it off you. I'll just What's the password? Take take the password off of the phone. Take it off. That's what I mean. I pay the phone bill, but you live with the mother, but the mother controls the Gmail and the iPhone and all that. >> But it's my money. Cool. No problem. Since you want to be rude and all that, let the mother do it. I just want you to know password. >> My That's what I mean. Call your mother back then. >> She don't know the password. >> She don't know the password to something that she put on the stuff that I paid for. >> No. And put it on speaker. Put it on speaker. You see it? Beautiful. >> At that point, Turner leaned over his daughter. In any other circumstance, that wouldn't be a problem. However, the police have been summoned over the two of them arguing, and Turner was one step away from doing something he might regret. >> No. Speaker, hand over. She's not picking up. Cuz you see, she called the cops to escalate something. You should have been should have just listen to me. I understand you was a No, no, no, no, no. I'm the parent. No. You see this is this this >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no. >> You see, you seeing your boyfriend, >> dude. All right. I'm sorry. All right. Turn around, babe. All right. >> Why are you locking him up? >> Because I pushed past him because Le was No. Dad. Dad. I'm not picking my mouth. Take take her phone. Take her phone. Dang. >> No. >> All right, man. All right. Just chill. Relax. Relax. Chill. >> We We're asking you just to chill the whole time, man. This didn't have to happen. >> Did you get the phone? >> You could see that the officer somehow empathized with the father. However, it was clear from the very start that he had control issues. He has to be in charge of the situation at all times and everybody has to agree with his decisions. And that became more apparent when he started talking to his girlfriend. >> Listen. Listen. Leah. Leah. Leah. Listen. Listen what I'm saying. Listen what I'm saying. Oh, you're not listening. >> Listen. Look at me. Look. Look at me. >> It's always like that. >> Stop. Just stop. Don't ask. >> Stop. No. No. But you didn't. >> Stop. Just come on. Look. Leah. Leah. Stop. Sh. >> All right. You don't want to go in the car? >> Come. Come. Come. Come. Get in the car. >> I'll get another car to bring you headquarters. >> All right. So, get in the car and be quiet, mama. Get in the car and be quiet. Guys, got to open the door. I'm not going >> I'm not going just try to chill, man. I'm sorry. We would just I was >> I know it was my fault. >> I was trying to tell you to chill from the >> This guy said he was neither a criminal nor an alcoholic. When he managed to calm down, he became apologetic. Not because he really felt he did something wrong, but more likely because he was about to be taken to jail. >> I was trying to get to my door. I wasn't going to touch again. I understand what exactly what happened. But you didn't have to. >> Come on. Just sit down, man. I don't want to go to jail. >> You're probably not going to go to jail. Do you have warrants and stuff? >> I don't know. No, I don't do nothing. Yeah. I just look >> You're probably going to get just get a paperwork and you have to go go to court and that's it, man. Well, could you tell Could you tell her what precinct we going to and stuff? >> Hogan, she knows. She knows already. >> Bang. We going to Hoben. >> You going to get her? >> No, you can't go and get her. You guys, man, >> I can't just try to get your other It's real tight back there, dude. >> Hook the window for me, please. I'm >> I'll open the window. I got to I got to get in front of >> In fairness to Turner, he remained cooperative and apologetic from there. He was taken into custody for obstruction and transported to police HQ in Hoboken. An inquiry revealed he had an outstanding warrant. He was released with a summon and a new court date. On March 12th, 2024, officers headed to a nearby gas station because a 16-year-old boy had just shown up in bloody clothes seeking help. He said he ran away from his abusive father. >> Hang on. >> Um his father. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Uh his father was just at the light when he went by. He um left him at home and and he ran up here from home. >> You that How does that happen, man? >> He just He thought I was lying to him about some I guess bro was having a bad day or something and he started taking out on me cuz Oh my god, bro. Hell no. >> What is your dad's name? >> What? What? What kind of truck it is, brother? >> You okay? >> That's all right. It's going to be okay. I'm going to have my come check you out. Come here, bro. My car. Come here. >> I just want to kill him, bro. >> Yeah. >> You like take me to like a number of houses. >> I just I just want to get the out of here. >> That's That's his truck. >> That's his car right there. That >> Which one? This one. This one. Is that him? >> That one? That's him right there. >> The officer didn't waste a second. If the father actually showed up, he needed to be detained until the whole thing was sorted out. After all, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But with the young man all banged up, there was a low chance the father was innocent. >> Come on, step out. Put your hands on the car. >> Put your hands in the car. >> You beat up. kid. >> Listen, man. I mean, like that. >> Yeah, the kid is bleeding. >> He disrespects me. Lies me. What would you do? I raised six of them. He lies to me, man. >> Okay. >> Who are you? >> That's my fiance. >> Okay. >> That's my fiance. >> Okay. >> Listen, I picked him up at midnight from his girlfriend's house in a different direction. >> We'll talk. Give us a second. We still doing the investigation. >> We ain't got to talk. I raised six kids. I know. I don't want to be lied to by one. Not Fox. >> I ain't got no sir. No, I ain't got I just got off of work, man. >> Take a seat, man. >> This man didn't outright say that he was the one who beat his son. But he didn't deny it either. He just kept saying that his son lied to him and that he wasn't going to take it. So, the officer decided to see what the girlfriend had to say about it. >> You're not the dad and you're not the son. I want your I want your opinion. >> I want you tell me exactly what happened. >> Her >> his son lied to him about >> Okay. >> where he was going to his girlfriends. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, >> he went out we went out there last night to pick him up and we sat out in the forest for an hour waiting on his son and his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mom to bring them to us cuz where they live our car couldn't go down the road. >> Okay. So anyhow, that's what started it. >> And then what happened? >> I just I just >> No. And it it And what happened to his lip and stuff? >> I mean, his dad threw a cup across and he threw it and instead of it hitting a wall, it hit him in his lip. The woman then said her boyfriend threw a cup across the room, accidentally hit his son, busting his lip, but based on what the dad said, he most likely aimed it at the boy. To make matters worse, according to the boy, it happened over something trivial. >> It was like small as, bro. It was It started off because I have like problems with my neck and I don't know what the it is. I got like this thing right here in my neck. >> Yeah. And I got some problems in the back of my throat. I don't know what is. >> Did he try to choke you or anything? >> Yeah. He grabbed me and he was hit me in the side of the head and we was in the car. >> Side of the head. Which side? >> This whole side of my head. He punched me, smacked me in the side of my head and everything, bro. [Music] >> It was over some stupid ass, bro. Like >> I went to this girl's house, man, and the address was somewhat wrong. It was a street over, bro. and he got mad as hell at me for it and he's talking about some I'm lying to him and I'm treating him like this and that and I'm sitting in the back seat. I'm like, "Bro, I ain't lie to you about he's like you telling me she lied." I'm like, "No, it wasn't even a lie." That bro just cocked back and back slapped me across the face right here and then pulled over, got out, grabbed me up by my neck and started hit me in the side of the head and >> pulling up on the side of the road to beat his son. Apparently wasn't enough for the man. As he started driving again, he continued threatening his son, saying he was going to drag him out and beat him again when they got back home. The kid managed to slip inside the house, but it didn't end there. >> And then I get inside and I get on the game with my cousin and I'm telling him what the is happening. And my dad walked in. I ain't hear him. So I had my headset on and I was telling what happened and my dad get sat down next to me on the bed mad as still talking about something. So you going to go off telling now and this and that. And I said, "I ain't saying I'm telling the truth, bro. I ain't do to you. over here beating my for nothing, bro. And then he [ __ ] I told him I ain't want to be there no more. I said I want to just go to foster care. I'm going to just go, bro. And then he got mad as for that and said that I take the he does for me regret. Like said I take advantage of it and I told him I ain't even ask for none of it. I don't even like >> like man I don't know man. Wipe your face with one of those dirty rag. >> Seeing the bloody stains on his clothes and the obvious emotional turmoil this kid is going through. There was no way he was faking it. Let's hear what the father had to say. >> I told him I said I wouldn't let him stay at his I just want to know where you're at. Keep in touch with me. Touch base with him. You can see the phone record. I said, "I just want you to let me know what's going to pick him up last night. 11:00 10:00 is when I got it to when I asked him, I said, "Where you at?" "Oh, I I'm going to come to you." And he comes from a different direction twice. Why did he lie to you about where you're standing? This guy seems to believe that strict discipline means controlling every aspect of his son's life. Sure, discipline has its place, but there's never a reason to beat your child up like you're in the UFC. >> My son got four years. >> So, is he like the oldest or is he >> okay? >> His mama passed four months ago. I've been raised since he was 6 months old. I got four kids. I just did climb 30 months over some bull when you I got a stepdaughter that's 23. She got around the corner right there. Mama's the one that I've dealt with kick in windows, kick in doors, money's going out of the house. I fixed all these problems and I'm telling him, you're the one that's causing all these problems to start again. Allow that to just tell the truth. >> The dad later identified as Donnie claimed he did not hit his son. However, he did admit to throwing a cup that accidentally hit the boy. That could explain the gash on his head, but not the other injuries that were clearly visible to the officers. the dresser that I paid for and bedroom. >> Sit tight on it. What happened in the car? >> You want to talk to me about that? Y bar and I do do that. I want respect for that. I've given respect for that's crazy. My mom put me in prison for 30 months for saying I did something right. Okay. And I'm a discipline, too. I raised >> Yeah, but this is more than discipline. >> What do you mean discipline? More than discipline. >> It's got a whole gash out of his top lip. >> Listen, that ain't my fault. >> You hit the cup, didn't you? >> Which hit him, which is the battery. >> You told me that >> I hit the >> Donnie then started mocking the officers about the cup as if it were significant. Obviously, to him, busting his son's lip was no big deal. However, the judge probably won't see it that way, and neither do the officers. >> You threw this up. >> I threw the judge. I threw. >> Come on, man. Now you're playing games. He's playing games. >> Listen, I'm I'm going to look at your white eyes because he's on some bull. >> I'm just telling you, you're on some bull because my kid won't even come here speak to me because he knows he was in a wrong for what he did. I shouldn't be sitting here right now. I raised that baby for the last 15 and a half years on my own. Bro, how what have you done for a kid, let alone five more? Nothing, right? You ain't even got a child, huh? >> You're a good daddy, right? You're good father. I mean, I'll speak to you, but I ain't speaking. Seeing that Donnie was no closer to actually admitting to the crime, he was taken to jail and charged with domestic battery by strangulation, cruelty toward a child, driving with a suspended license, and resisting an officer. On November 5th, 2024, deputies responded to yet another domestic violence call. This time it involved a supposedly drunk woman who had assaulted her 14-year-old daughter. >> What's going on? Can we talk on the driveway? >> Oh, I didn't know somebody. >> Do you live here? You lie. Side A. You live on this house. >> No, this is my sister's side. >> Okay. But you were on side A on the on this side of the house, the duplex. >> In my car and over here. >> I'm saying were you inside the house at some point? >> Yeah. Okay. Side A. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's What happened? Why? >> I don't know. I don't even know why somebody called the police. >> Hi. >> Hello. What's going >> What's going on? Did you call? >> Yes. Um, she like came in our house. That's my aunt when she be drinking and she came in to talk to her daughter and her daughter didn't want to go over her and she jumped on her and started slapping her. How old's your daughter? >> 14. >> Okay. >> The officer then asked if the 14-year-old victim could step outside so he could hear her version of the story alone. While he waited, the suspect's niece continued filling him in on this strange situation. And then they were rudely interrupted. My mom said she's not allowed to be over here and she usually be drunk and stuff and then like she like tries to put her hands on people. So she >> What's that? >> Okay. Nobody's allowed. >> You told me you don't live here. Remember? >> No, my sister lives here. >> Ma'am, my sister does live here. >> Who's an adult in there? Nobody adult in there. >> Ma'am, stop towards him. Don't impede my investigation. You said you don't live here. >> I don't, but my sister does. >> And that's not adult. That's my daughter. >> My daughter is >> Stop walking. Stop walking closer over there. >> The second officer managed to get the woman to step down and asked her for ID. She was obviously the mother involved in the supposed altercation. In light of this new information, the officer tried to get her to tell the truth. >> So, >> do you want to change anything to your statement that nothing happened here today? >> No. >> Okay. >> All right, ma'am. Just do me a favor right quick. Can I see that? >> See what? >> For what? It's my property. >> What? >> Don't resist, please. Put your trigger right out. Oh, what was this? Thank you. >> You been drinking, huh? >> No. >> Smaller breath. >> There you go. >> Because of the allegations that are being made. >> Because of the allegations being made. >> But that's one side. >> Is it? >> I don't know. I got two different testimonies from two different people. because you got anything to >> Well, ma'am, we if you want to continue to give us more talking stuff, we'll read you your rights and we'll continue, but right now you're being detained. Okay. >> After the suspect was read her rights, the suspect suddenly remembered she had a three-year-old at home with his dad. She also wasn't happy about the officers searching her car or the fact there wasn't a female officer present to search her. I'm just asking you to tell my niece to tell my um >> you know that I'm going to jail, >> but at the end of the day, I still have children and I'm just saying you can you um talk tell my niece that you know what's going on. >> All right. All right. Yeah, we'll inventory you. We'll get 101 going. >> Search me. You're not going to search me. >> We don't have any available. So, >> well, you'll find one. If there's none available, then I got to do it. >> Ain't no man going to be searching me for it. >> Well, it's not up to you. >> It is up to me. Talking about >> ma'am. My name is Deputy Harrison. >> I don't give a name. You're not going to search me. >> Do you mind if I grab your ID right quick? >> Yes, sir. >> In the meantime, another woman showed up at the house. It was the suspect's mother, and it was refreshing to finally see an adult act rationally. Not only was she cooperative, but she actually thanked the cops for taking her daughter to jail. >> So, if you're going to go to jail for child abuse, and better. Thank you. >> I'm so I'm so I'm so tired of my I'm sorry. My daughter has a drinking problem, sir. And this will probably be the best thing to help her. You understand? I hope she Oh, I'm sorry. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so tired. >> Does she use drugs or anything? >> No, she don't do no drugs, sir. She's not on drugs. She just only drinks. >> Is that it right there? >> Yes, sir. >> Don't worry about her. She's going to scream and drunk. >> Okay, >> thanks. I'll be right back with it. So, this is a legal uh rights and remedies brochure for victims of domestic violence. >> So, this is just a receipt indicating that I presented this uh document to you. This explains what it means to be a victim. You're the you're the adult here. So, I'm giving it to you on behalf of her. You can go through it with her. >> All right. and what your rights are and it has on the back other services for you. >> Okay. >> As far as uh the victim's rights advocates and all that good moral. >> All right. So, if you don't mind signing here >> as the mother signed the kind of papers no parent ever wants to see. Her daughter was across the street handcuffed in the back of the squad car screaming obscenities as loudly as possible. >> Hey, stop all that yelling. Sit down. You going to get another charge in a minute. >> I'mma get you for disorderly. >> Oh man. >> Be quiet. Be quiet before you have Be quiet before be quiet before you have another charge. >> Here you go, ma'am. That's for you. This is a victim's right for sure. Just explain to them what it means to be a victim. Uh the court process here, victim's right to advocates front life center for you if you decide to meet her or your or your granddaughter. >> Okay. Not death for like for what happened to her like help her. Okay. >> All right. >> The officer then returned to the house and asked the two witnesses to give him written statements about the incident. From his own account of what they told him earlier, it's clear that this was more than just a typical spat. >> What you told me earlier? You know, you said that she came here drunk. She came here for whatever purpose it was. She went upstairs. What you witnessed as far as the hitting the slapping? Make sure you're specific. Like you said, she was winding up. You the slaps were audible. Uh she was crying and all that good stuff. So just make sure you write that stuff down. All right. You can use that same pen. >> Date of birth. If you want her information released to the family life center, which provides uh free and confidential services to victims of uh domestic violence or anything like that, is that something you want or no? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. cuz um that's got to be tormented to your mama come over here and jump on you like that. That's crazy. >> Yep. So um all righty. All right. Step out right quick and face the vehicle. I'm about to search you. Do not resist me. Okay. >> I won't. >> All right. >> Don't do it. >> Lower to your left, please. Lower to your left. Thanks. That's good. Lean up against the vehicle. >> Shouting usually doesn't accomplish much, but this time it might have served a purpose. It allowed the suspect to vent out at least some of her frustration because when it came time for the search, she didn't object at all. There >> nothing in your shoes or anything like that? >> You want me to take them off? >> That'd be great. >> No, cuz I can't cuz it's too hard to get them back on. >> Oh, we'll help you. Oh, pick us the car, please. You mean to pick us the car, please? >> Let me take them off cuz I already failing to obey his orders. >> No, I'm doing what he asks me to do. [ __ ] She was kic. >> You just kicked it at him. >> She just kicked it out of me. >> Don't sit here and say that was a threat. >> Really? >> I don't know if you felt assaulted. >> Come on. >> All right, we're going to put your shoes down. Don't worry about them. The jail won't take good care. >> All right, you put your seat belt on just for good measure. You never know these days. Yeah. >> Okay. >> God bless y'all. >> Oh yeah. >> I hope y'all really enjoy it. >> Enjoy what? >> Just be good. >> Sit back, please. >> I am back as as much as I can be. >> According to reports, the suspect went to her sister's house expecting her daughter to come home with her, but the teen refused. The woman lashed out and physically attacked her daughter. She was taken to jail and charged with abuse of a child without great bodily harm. Thank you for joining the Untold Files.
