In the middle of showing off her situation-ship with Papoose, Clarissa Shields ended up flipping the whole thing sideways. And instead of it making her look good, it seriously backfired on him, too. [music] His response? Oh, it hit hard and had her looking shaken all over again. He was definitely not feeling that Breakfast Club interview, not even a little bit. Seriously, [music] he wasn't okay with it at all because she basically hinted at his financial situation without saying it directly. Talking big about what he pays for her and how he takes care of things. That alone was messy, but then she took it even further and started bragging again about Laila Ali like it was some kind of competition. That part made everything worse. There was no reason to bring Laila Ali up again like that. It came off bitter, especially since Laila had already called her out before for not telling the full truth about their situation. And clearly, Clarissa still hasn't moved past that moment. It keeps coming up, and every time it does, it feels more personal and unnecessary. And the way she kept putting Laila's name out there again, that didn't sit right at all. It honestly seemed like Papoose was paying close attention to that, and it might have made him uncomfortable, too. Then here she goes again, back on The Breakfast Club like she practically lives there at this point. Every time you look up, she's doing another interview. But this time, she was once again hyping up this whole situation with a married man. Talking like it's something to celebrate. And that's where everything really started to spiral. She kept going on and on, hyping up what she thinks is so amazing about this relationship, really putting it on display like it's something everybody should admire. Then she started talking about the birthday [music] party she threw for Papoose earlier this month, and that's when things got real awkward. She brought up this card game situation. You know the ones people do online where you pick between two options for a surprise? So, she said she laid out two choices, >> [music] >> $1,000 or $10,000, and let him pick without knowing what was behind each one. Sounds fun at first until it wasn't. Papoose picked the $1,000, and when he found out the other option was 10,000, she said he was heated, like really upset about it. According to her, he was not feeling that at all and couldn't believe he missed out on the bigger amount. That whole story alone had people raising eyebrows. Then Charlamagne stepped in and asked the real question. He basically said, "When you post stuff like that, don't you think people are going to start saying he's only with you for the money?" And that's when everything took another turn. Right after that, Clarissa tried to flip the narrative [music] fast. She jumped in talking about how he pays her mortgage, her car note, and even her car insurance. [music] But instead of clearing things up, it just made the whole situation sound even messier and way more complicated than she probably intended. She kept piling it on saying he buys everything. She doesn't even pay for flights and that he handles it all. It sounded like she was trying hard to clean up the image, but instead, it just made the situation look even worse. Because let's be real, she had already put him out there by saying he got upset over missing out on 10K. Just 10K. And that detail stuck with people. >> [music] >> And in trying to fix things, she kind of exposed even more because that's how it goes. The truth always finds a way to show itself, no matter how you try to spin it. She's bragging about him paying for this, covering that, taking care of everything. But at the same time, there's talk about him having other financial responsibilities he's supposed to be handling, too. That mix right there, it doesn't line up clean at all. It just wasn't a smart move to put all that out in public like that because now people are looking at it sideways. And here's where it really gets confusing. How does someone who's supposedly covering all these major expenses get that upset over missing a 10K option? That math isn't adding up. It leaves people questioning everything. Either he's really spending like that every day, or that reaction to the 10K says something completely different. Either way, the story just doesn't fit together, and that's why everyone's talking about it. At the end of the day, this all circles back to one thing, her pride. [music] And right now, that pride is not looking good at all because the way she's confidently claiming another woman's husband, that's where people are drawing a hard line. That's not something you can just brush off like it's normal. Like it's already been said before, separated does not mean divorced. [music] That's two completely different situations, and trying to blur that line is only making things messier. >> [music] >> You can't proudly stand on a situation like that and expect people not to question it, especially when everything is still [music] technically tied together. Only be great, but be a good person, spread the gospel. Um give people something to believe in, and just show that if you give your best, it's good enough. You know, I feel like people in life are so hard on themselves. You give your best best and you come up short, and and people just want to give you a hard time. It's like, give your best. Don't worry about what what outsiders who have not worked for nothing have to say, and focus on delivering your best. And that's all I've ever done is give my best, and I have been okay with that. I gave my best in MMA, and I lost the fight. I lost the fight in MMA, but I gave my best. And the only way I was able to live with that fight and that loss is because I know I gave my best in training camp, I gave my best in the fight. I had eight stitches taken on my head 3 days before the fight. But hey, I gave my best. And if you give your best, and ask to anybody in here, if you give your best, whether you come up short or not, it's okay. Do it again, and maybe you'll come out on top the next time, but just don't quit. Giving your best is enough. Good enough. Let's hear it. And when compared to other situations, it really stands out. Look at how fast some divorces move once they're actually in motion. Papers get filed, things get handled, [music] and it's done within months. But in this case, it's been said this situation has been dragging on for over 2 years. 2 years and still no real progress? Yet every time someone brings that up, the main defense is he filed for divorce. But filing doesn't mean it's finished. It doesn't mean anything has actually been resolved. And what makes it even more questionable is how that filing even happened. It wasn't some smooth mutual step. It came after public pressure and being called out online. And even after that, nothing is really moved forward. So, when you look at the full picture, it raises more questions than answers, and that's exactly why people aren't just accepting the story at face value. So, when you really look at it, it says a lot. You've got other public figures with way more assets, way more complicated situations, [music] and they still manage to get things finalized quickly. Just like that situation everyone saw, >> [music] >> everything wrapped up in a matter of months. So, if this was really going to happen here, it would already happened by now. It would have been done, no question. And that brings it right back to the same issue again, pride. Because at this point, it's starting to look like pride is setting the stage for a major downfall. She keeps talking about how much money she has, pointing out what others don't have, and putting it all out there like it proves something. But that kind of talk doesn't land the way she thinks it does. >> [music] >> Usually, when someone is truly secure, they don't need to keep announcing it like that. It shows in how they move, not just what they say. And then there's the constant spotlight on this situation [music] with the married man. It keeps getting pushed to the front like it's something to celebrate, while at the same time, she's responding strongly anytime people question it or point out the obvious issues. That energy comes off as forced confidence more than anything. Because if everything was really as solid as it's being claimed, [music] there wouldn't be this much explaining, this much defending, and this much back and forth around the same topic. It really comes off like she's trying to cover up her own insecurities because deep down, it doesn't seem like he's moving the way she actually wants him to move. And that's why she keeps having to explain everything. "Oh, he does this. He's not like that. He wouldn't do that." It's constant. [music] And when someone has to keep talking like that, it starts to sound more like excuses than reality. Because if everything was solid, it would just show on its own. It wouldn't need all that extra explaining. And that's what makes this [music] situation stand out even more because when she put his financial business out there like that, his reaction said everything. He clearly wasn't comfortable with that being shared. That moment alone showed there [music] was a disconnect because if he was really okay with all of it, there wouldn't be any tension around what's being said [music] publicly. But instead, it looked like she crossed a line by revealing things that were never meant for everyone to hear. And that goes back to the bigger issue, trying to show off the relationship so much that private details start getting exposed. When you're focused on proving something to people, you can end up saying way more than you should, and that's exactly what happened here. So, when they left The Breakfast Club that day, there were clips going around showing them walking out, and people immediately picked up on the energy because it didn't look how you'd expect a couple to look at all. He was walking ahead, creating clear space between them, like 3 or 4 ft apart. No arm around her, no effort to stay close, nothing. And she's in high heels stepping over those street grates, and he's not even checking on her or matching her pace. That stood out to a lot of people. It wasn't giving connection, it was giving distance. And then it got even more noticeable. When they shifted directions, he moved off to the side instead of staying [music] next to her while she's throwing a side eye in his direction as they walk, that [music] moment right there had people talking. Because body language doesn't lie. It didn't come across like two people in sync or comfortable with each other. It looked off, like something wasn't clicking behind the scenes. And what really made it hit harder is that this wasn't the only moment raising eyebrows. The way he carried himself after that, especially [music] around the time Remy Ma showed up at Cardi B's concert, just added more layers to the situation >> [music] >> and made people question what's really going on behind closed doors. Yeah, and this is where things really started getting people talking. Remy Ma popped out at Cardi B's sold-out concert in New York that Friday night, just about 2 days after that Breakfast Club interview. And she was outside for real, posting her outfit, showing Cardi shouting her out on stage, backstage pics, all of it. It was very visible, very public. Then, out of nowhere, Papoose posts from that exact same concert, same event, >> [music] >> same night. He's talking about the performance, saying things like how she came out to the right song and all that. And people [music] caught it immediately. Everyone started connecting the dots like, "Wait a minute, wasn't Remy just there, too?" And that's when the comments started flooding [music] in. One person even said, "It's not giving divorce. It's not giving divorce." And that line right there summed up what a lot of people were thinking. Then Clarissa jumped in behind the scenes, responding in DMs, trying to clear it up. She's saying it was just a repost, trying to downplay it and shut it down. But that only made it louder. Because even if it was a repost, people aren't buying that explanation. You're telling everyone he didn't think about how that would look, posting from the exact same place at the exact same time Remy was clearly [music] at. That's not something people just overlook. To a lot of observers, it looked intentional. And whether it was or not, it added even more confusion to an already messy situation and kept the spotlight right on all of them. Yeah, but a lot of people saw that as his way of getting even. And it really had her spiraling all weekend, reacting and trying to clean things up after he flipped the narrative on her. Because from that perspective, it looked like he was getting his lick back after she put his business out there. >> [music] >> And what's wild is people are saying this isn't even new. Every time she starts bragging heavy about the relationship, talking about what he does, what she has, how everything looks perfect, something happens right after that completely [music] shifts the spotlight. It's like the more she tries to present it one way, the faster something comes out that tells a totally different story. [music] And that pattern is what has people paying attention. Because it starts to look like a cycle, boasting, then backlash, then scrambling to explain it. That's why people [music] keep bringing up that saying about pride leading to a fall. Because the timing of everything just keeps lining up in a way that raises eyebrows. Then, on top of that, she's jumping into comments and DMs trying to defend the situation and explain where he was and what he was doing. But the way it's coming across is not helping. Because when those responses start sounding aggressive or messy, it can push people away instead of clearing things up. And that matters, especially [music] when public image is tied to opportunities. Brands pay attention to how someone handles pressure online. [music] And if the reactions come off heated or unfiltered, it can make companies hesitant to get involved, especially when they're thinking about how the public will respond. That's really what it comes down to. Separated is not divorced, and no matter how you try to dress it up, people are going to keep calling that out. It's simple, and it's not something you can spin your way around. At the end of the day, the situation speaks for itself, and every move just keeps adding more questions instead of clearing anything up. Now, I want to hear from you.
