No, I'm not the one. She's upset. So, what happened? That little girl was hitting her first. Like, she put her hands on that. >> Oh, God. >> What you trying to take, officer? >> The behavior of the adults, the condition of the children, and signs of long-term dysfunction that hadn't formed overnight. This wasn't a sudden crisis, but a toxic family situation that had been hidden for years. This is when hero cops discover a toxic family situation hidden for years. Here is law zone where features real police body cam footage documenting how officers handle tense and unpredictable situations as they happen. The first incident is that police rescue toddler from extremely dangerous mother >> that apartment. No child should ever be even close to living in something like that. That was one of the worst >> one two three four counts battery on Leo. One count child neglect. On May 20th, 2024, deputies in Leburg, Florida, responded to a welfare check after a father reported not hearing from the child's mother for days. When there was no response at the door, officers obtained a search warrant and entered the home, which they described as having some of the worst living conditions they had seen. Inside, they heard a woman and a baby crying behind a barricaded locked door [music] and took the one-year-old child into protective custody. >> I want my baby. I was trying to check on my baby and she's not responding. >> She's yelling. I need to see if my baby's okay. >> What is she yelling? >> Get out >> to you or the kid? >> No, not the kid. I don't know if the kid is there. That's what I'm trying to see. >> Oh, okay. So, you're just wanting a well-being check on the kids? >> Yes. Make sure. >> All right. Would you stay down here for us? >> Hey, Crystal. It's Corporal Her Lake County Sheriff's Office. We're just here to make sure that the baby's okay. That's it. Once we verify the baby's okay, then we're going to leave. Okay. Apartment management explains that the woman recently barricaded herself inside, changed the locks, and blocked the door with furniture. Neighbors report ongoing issues. >> Crystal, can you please just come to the door? We legit just want to make sure the baby's all right. That's it. And then we're leaving. Is she talking to you through the window? >> Crystal changed a lot. Crystal Crystal, >> is there another door? >> No, these permits only one way in. >> Just keep an eye on that. and everything. >> So, we trying to evict um Matthew and Dallas. >> Okay. The two that are there. >> Yeah. So, um the one that is in there, she changed the locks. >> Okay. >> And she's on Alpha. So, when the deputy came in to um evict her, um she's not on the paperwork. >> So, it's actually her residence. So, it's nothing that they couldn't like. >> Okay. Do you know if she's left? Deputies enter the apartment and describe it as one of the worst living conditions they have encountered. The child is located and secured. >> He left um nobody knows where he where he's at. >> Okay. >> Yeah. But um if the door is unlocked, if you need to like break any doors, um you have the um you guys can >> Okay. >> All right. Well, it doesn't look like we're going to have to do any of that. Um cuz we already opened the door and looked inside just to see if it was unlocked. We haven't gone in yet. But we're waiting for him to fill out an affidavit. Um, and then we're going to go in and just verify and check. But it kind of looks like >> she's gone. >> She's gone cuz I mean it's pretty much empty in there. There's no couches or anything, but like all the broken bed stuff and everything is just pushed up against she went like broke everything and put like bar herself because she was trying to protect. >> Okay. Hey, how's that baby doing, man? >> She's good right now. >> She's good. What's up? Okay. >> Thank you. Sorry that didn't occur to you guys, man. >> Hey, I'm glad we got your child. >> Yes, sir. I'm glad, too. Thank you. Yes, sir. >> That's that apartment. No child should ever be even close to living in something like that. That was one of the worst I've ever seen. All right. I'm glad that you called us. I'm glad >> the father is reunited with the child. Officers confirm the infant is alive and removed from the unsafe environment. >> Glad we were able to help you out and get the baby out of that situation cuz that was not good at all. >> Thank you very much, sir. >> Yes, sir. just stick around for us a little bit. Um, RCIB is actually coming because of all the events that have occurred and what we've witnessed in there. >> Okay. >> So, she's she's going to be charged with some form of child endangerment, child neglect. Um, as well as a battery on all of us. >> No problem. >> All right. Thank you guys. >> All right. So, I guess you used to live here, but you moved out four or five months ago. Is that right? >> Okay. And when you left, the house was in pretty good order. >> Yes. Me? Yes. Everything was good. It was never like this. The window was never like that. >> Yeah. Okay. And what is the child custody situation? >> She has, but I'm uh >> Yeah. >> Um so you you take care of her. Is there any court paperwork as far as custody goes? >> No. Okay. When they were able to, as officers continue clearing the scene, the mother confronts them and throws a chemical substance later identified as bleach, causing officers breathing and vision irritation. I got a little bit space. >> We got a little bit of space. A little bit at a level. >> Slide this. Slide this bottom down. What? >> It's jammed in there. >> I don't like it. >> It's jammed in. >> You got to come with it. >> I'm not >> [cough] >> Officers deploy a taser, take the woman into custody, and provide immediate decontamination assistance to affected deputies. Go ahead. I believe it's I'm sure at this point it just smells like bleach. I'm going need at least two more here. [clears throat] >> Hey, let's Can you go downstairs? You good? Yeah. Cool. It went in my throat. >> Stay with her. You may [ __ ] bang her head on the >> partition. Hey. Hey. Ask for the [ __ ] >> Some kind of >> My throat's burning. Oh, great. They don't want to coat us. >> Hey, >> where's the [ __ ] bleach? Damn it. >> One, two, three, four counts battery on Leo. One count child neglect. >> [ __ ] I can't see. >> Tom, you want me to take her? >> No, I'll take it. You >> want me to take it? I just I really cannot see though. >> Hey guys, water. The woman continues yelling and resisting verbally while officers [snorts] maintain control and escort her from the building. >> You got some more. Thank you. >> These are like gentle sit down. >> Sit on the curb. Sit on the seat. Sit on something seat. I got to go back in there >> for what? >> She took one of my this cup. >> Mike, you got a dry napkin. taking myself. [clears throat] Okay, I'm going down. >> 3450 late. She's 10:15. >> Okay, officer. You pushing me down the stairs. You pushing me down the stairs. Officer, look what they did. I didn't do nothing wrong. All I'm doing is telling Jesus saved. Jesus is saved. Y'all doing me wrong. Y'all see this? Y'all doing me wrong. Look, they took my kids. They made my kids run away. Now look. >> Officers conduct a search incident to arrest, explain that she is on body camera, and transport her to a patrol vehicle. >> Okay, take me a handcuff. Dallas, you was all on this. >> Shut the hell up. >> Okay. >> God is good. >> They heard the dog. The cops hurt the dog. >> What you trying to take, officer? >> Make sure you ain't got nothing in your pocket. >> I DON'T GOT nothing in my pocket, y'all. I don't have nothing in my pocket, officer. >> So, what is this? >> Oh, okay. >> Exactly. Shut the hell up and let me do my job. >> No problem. >> This is what you wanted, Dallas. You see, you took all my kids off. >> I pulled on >> Stop moving. >> I'm not moving. Officer and you and you moving me and telling me stop moving. Officer, I'm not trying to do nothing. Officer four, >> right? It's just Yeah. transport. >> Oh, what's up? Please forgive me. I was just trying to protect my >> I'm going to pat you down. >> No problem. >> You going to stand right here or lean on the car? Do you have anything on you that's going to endanger me? >> Only batteries and lighters? No ma'am. >> Okay. Are they on your person? >> No, he took them out. >> Okay. So, there's nothing hidden, nothing. No needles? Nothing? >> No. No. >> What's in your ear? Is that just your ear? Ear earring? Hey, can you frame her? Spread your legs. Thank you. You don't have to You don't have to get that far. You close me a little bit. There we go. Thank you. >> You wearing a bra? >> No. Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> Is it a wire bra? >> No. No, ma'am. >> Is there any chemical on you? Any >> anything that's going to hurt me in that fashion from what they are telling me? All right, I'm going on your >> No problem. Okay, >> no problem. >> So, just to let you know that you're all on body cam, so everything you said is going to be recorded and >> all be used. So, just I'm just reminding you of that fact. Okay. No problem. >> The woman is seated in the vehicle, given water, and advised she will have the opportunity to speak with a judge. No more necklaces. >> No, ma'am. Okay. >> All right. We're going to step to my car. >> No problem. >> She's right over here. >> Can you please grab the water? >> Yeah. >> Can you grab the water? >> Yeah. Can you please you got to get to the car first before you get water, officer. All I need is water. >> Is there a reason that you need water? >> Yes. I'm really thirsty, ma'am. >> Is that it? >> Yes. >> Is there no other reason? >> No, I'm just thirsty. You can put in for me, officer. >> Yeah. Yeah, we got to get the car. >> Please forgive me. >> I forgive y'all. Please forgive me. >> You don't take any medication that requires >> No. No. No medication. No. Nope. No medication. >> All right. Put your seat belt on actually. Not your fault. Please bring me some water off the side. Give >> me some water. >> Please. >> I apologize. I'm so sorry. I love my kids. >> No worry. >> Sorry, ma'am. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry you have to come and do this. So sorry. >> Thank you so much, ma'am. >> Is this a water bottle for your house? No, I don't know. >> Somebody offered >> I don't know. >> Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. >> You're going to have an opportunity to talk to the judge. Okay. >> No problem. Can you give me a little bit more? >> I don't take no medication, nothing. >> Thank you so much. >> Can you just leave that water bottle right there? So, >> no, it can't be in the cab, but I'm going to put in the front. >> No problem. Thank you so much. The mother was charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of child neglect after deputies documented unsafe living conditions, removal of the child for protection, and an alleged chemical assault on officers during the entry. She was booked into the Lake County Jail with bond set at $11,000. The child was placed safely with the father and the case was referred for further child welfare and court review. Remember, severe living conditions and lack of responsiveness can justify immediate police intervention to protect a child. Aggressive actions toward officers during a welfare check can rapidly escalate charges and legal consequences. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. That apartment description alone was horrifying. Glad the baby was rescued. Throwing chemicals at officers only made things worse for everyone. The father did the right thing by calling when he couldn't reach her. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police rescue child from extremely dangerous neighbor. >> She has all recorded right here. A friend recorded it. >> Test me first. >> Stomping my daughter. That grown ass big lady. On April 18th, 2025 officers responded to reports that a 20-year-old woman assaulted an 11year-old girl at a public park in Canton, Ohio. Police said the altercation left the child unconscious and the incident was recorded by a witness. >> Well, she doesn't come out and talk to us. >> Well, if she doesn't come out, we're going to get search war. Go ahead. that part. What time did this car come in? >> 1500 hours. What's wrong? >> Knocked her unconscious >> and she had all recorded right here. A friend recorded the entire thing. >> Where's she? You know where she's at? >> Right here. I don't know. >> She's in 1634. >> What was the lady that did it look like? >> All black smacky ass booty shorts. All right. You guys do me a favor. Just go down here. Okay. appreciate it. >> Officers attempt to make contact with the suspect. Family members claim the child hit first while officers explain the need to speak directly with the adult involved. >> Go down by our car. We'll have the medics meet you down there. Okay. >> 246. >> It's clear for medics. Uh I'm having the victim go down by my cruiser to let him know. Suspect house is going to be 1637. I'm trying to make contact now. >> Copy. >> Hi. >> Get in there, cat. >> Is this two units? No, it's one. It's one unit. One big one. >> So, are you the Are you the one? >> No, I'm not the one. She's upset. So, what happened? That little girl was hitting her first. Like, she put her hands on Destiny first. >> So, I understand that she's upset, but we got to talk to her. Okay. >> She won't come out. She's afraid she's going to go to jail. >> Well, she doesn't come out and talk to us. >> Well, she doesn't come out. We're going to go search for her and go to >> officers request to view the recorded video and note the presence of park surveillance cameras. As of right now, we're just talking to people. If she doesn't come out, that's called instruction. >> All right. >> What's that, sir? >> I thought you got Yep. Absolutely. >> I know the law difference. I was 12 and a half years in the military. >> Okay. >> These guys are ladies. They know what they're talking about. >> They're they're Yeah. Right there. Serious. Witnesses describe the escalation at the playground. Officers focus on identifying where the violence begins in the video. >> All right. Yes, sir. 43. >> Are you good if I go check out this video real quick? >> They said some lady curb stomped this kid. Um, I guess there's a They said I guess there's a video. I'm trying to >> You guys got the video I can see real quick. police came over there. >> And there's a police camera at the park as well. >> We're going to go right back. >> People right there weren't even over. >> Where's it happen on the video? I noticed it's pretty long. I don't need to see the whole thing, but just for medical stuff. >> No, he's talking about in the video where the violence started. >> He said, "Call the police. This is where they're provoking him to kind of run to pay." Then >> the suspect identified as a 19-year-old woman admits to striking the child after a verbal confrontation. >> She runs up the thing. >> Do you know these people at all or No. >> Okay. My daughter even told her kid was cute. >> Who's recording this? >> She ran up here >> and was stomping my daughter, that grown ass lady. >> She's so bulky. >> Well, that's why I had them go down there. How do I spell your name? Best name. >> P E S T A N Y. >> Was your last name Scott? >> Yeah. >> It's spelled normal. >> Yep. >> All right. Was she with you? >> Who all was with you? >> Her. Her son and me. >> So, what happened? >> So, she's saying that she was running her mouth to them. They started yelling back and forth. She slapped her. >> How old are you? >> Uh 19. >> So, the the kid hit you. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> What happened after? After reviewing video, evidence, officers place the woman under arrest. She becomes verbally aggressive while being taken into custody. >> That where were you guys at? >> Started fighting. >> We was up at the park on the thing and I ran up to her because she was talking like [ __ ] So I talked my [ __ ] She hit me and I hit her back. >> How'd you hit her back? >> All I did was smack her in the face and start smacking her around. >> You going to do nothing else? >> No. >> Well, if I told you it's all on video and I just watch. >> I don't care. So, you're going to be under arrest. Stand up. Put your hands on your back. >> Stand up. Put your hands on your back. >> Look at her laughing AND SMILING AND [ __ ] JUST KNOW PEOPLE ARE COMING AFTER YOU. HO. No people are coming after you. No people are coming after you. >> I recommend not saying anything to further information. >> You need to SHUT THE [ __ ] UP. NOBODY ASK YOUR DICK SUCKERS. NOBODY ASK YOU TO RUN YOUR DICK SUCKERS. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KILL ME, TOO. IN jail and he'll make >> Oh, I'll die in jail and you'll make sure of it. You sound so happy for yourself before I get involved. >> Yeah, she needs to shut the [ __ ] up before she gets smashed. >> Smack you the [ __ ] up. How you feel about that? >> So [ __ ] cute. >> AND I HOPE YOUR DAUGHTER. >> GO AHEAD. STOP. HEY. HEY. HEY. HEY. IT REALLY is going to love this. It's okay. >> Where you guys at? >> Take home, please. Call my grandfather. >> Really though, she just >> 77. >> Car 77. >> Can you guys respond down to Clark? Officers work to locate a parent or guardian to accompany the child to the hospital and clarify custody arrangements. >> Yeah, we're out here. >> Copy. What is happen? Yeah, she's going to get charged. >> Okay. >> Um, where's dad? >> They just went that way. Did they take the is the kid with them or >> I'll go see what I can find. fuel marker. I have three names for you whenever you're ready. >> Go ahead. >> It's unlocked. >> Brandon Brown, Armando Morris, Omar Ramsey. >> It was Armando Morris. >> Raondo from an R. saw him walk that way, but now I can't find him. So, I don't >> Dude, I didn't I just I just called my safety officer. >> I'm going to see if she knows his phone number to call or at least an address. As far as I know, besides mom, no. But mom, did you guys see what she did? >> Yeah. No. So, this the lady we had in cuffs was talking [ __ ] >> So, mom decided to charge. And >> are you arresting mom? >> Yeah. >> Let me I might be able to cut her summons. >> But still, >> let me see what we can do with >> We need dad back here. >> If dad's not part of it, we need dad back here. She's got to go. >> Yeah. Yeah. Um I'm going to go try to get phone number at least. See what we can do. called in. >> Hey, we need to uh >> The kids got to go to the hospital, but there's no parent. >> Who's the kid? >> Her daughter, but dad and them just left. >> But the kids in the ambulance right now. >> So, let me see if we can talk to mom real quick. Okay. >> Officers discussed the incident among themselves, emphasizing the age difference and the seriousness of an adult assaulting a minor. >> Can you roll the window down, please? >> Um, I haven't added it to the notes. >> Can you roll down? >> Yeah, I got you. >> Thank you. >> Where do you guys live? Cuz your >> 1834 hand. >> Is that where your husband just went? >> Yes. >> Okay. Cuz he's got to go with the kid. >> He just left. >> He had to take my youngest over there to my brother. >> Is that where he went? >> Yes. >> Is that dad or boyfriend? >> That's my boyfriend. >> So it's not the kid's dad? >> No, my youngest daughter's dad is deceased. >> Okay. Well, what are we going to do with your kid? Cuz your kid has to go to the hospital. >> My brother is there and he can go with her to the hospital. My grandparents will meet them there. Where's your brother at? >> He's at my house. >> Alman. I think that's what mom said. >> I'll let them know. >> Let them know. We got to We just got to get >> Yeah, I know. I got you. >> Get Get this car. >> Yeah. >> Hey, you guys got to get out of the way. >> R E. >> Hey, they're they're just going they're going to Alman. >> Got curb stomped. Did we get the kid's name? >> Can you just get the kid's name for us in front of us >> or what? You start the record. >> I don't know exactly all I saw. So, >> what happened? >> She's 19. The kid's like what, 11? >> Yeah, the kid's like 11. >> She says the kid slaps her. >> Okay. >> But she's 19. So, but um and then she says she hit the kid back. I asked how you hit her back. She just kind of went like like that. In the video, they're like on the top part of this park or at the playground at the like top of the slide. Yeah. And the video shows her smashing the kid's head on the floor of the like the metal part where you stand on top of the slide. So that's what you disoriently I'm strucking. Did she hit you? I mean I got a scratch but I don't think it was intentional. I kind of just pushed her back cuz she wasn't running at me. She was trying to hurt me. Officers decide on charges for all involved, allowing the child's mother to go to the hospital while proceeding with the suspect's arrest. >> But still, she can't do that, right? >> So, I mean, you guys are there for it. >> I'm cool with just giving her a summon so she can go with her kid to the hospital. >> Okay. So, >> are you able to knock that out? Do you mind? Just what you want. Just disorderly. I'm structuring. >> You fine with that? >> I'm fine with it. >> So, where? Yeah. So do that. Then she go to the hospital. Okay. Sweet, dude. >> I was going to say I just came like the kids turned into adults being children. >> Yeah. So we arrest we're arresting the lady cuz she was smashing the kid's head on the part. >> Jesus. >> The kid's 11. She's 19. She said, "Well, she hit me. So I was defending myself." >> You're 19. >> Yeah. And then this lady's talking [ __ ] to the kid's mom saying like, "I hope your she I didn't really hear it. She was saying how the lady we have arrested saying, "I hope your kid dies." So mom got all pissed charges at her. So I kind of pushed her against the car and like you can't do that. So I think we're just going to give her a summon for obstructing and disorderly conduct so she can go to the hospital and then we're going to take her for the assault. >> So yeah. >> Yeah, sounds good. >> So thanks. Hey, like I said, I'm just I'm just being nosy. >> No, that's fine. >> The suspect is booked into jail as officers finalize reports and confirm medical followup for the child. >> You guys sound so calm. I'm like, ain't nothing with a second. I'm like, that just sounds interesting. >> Thank you. Heat. Heat. Got the baton. This one. Definitely a southwest call. You need a hand getting out at all. Watch this little curve here. Have a seat on that bench. Okay. >> You want to add in here or not? >> Destiny Scott's next. Are you still unemployed? >> Yeah, I take care of him. Oh no. The 19-year-old woman was charged with felonious assault, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and disorderly conduct. She was booked into the Stark County Jail with a $25,000 bond set. The case was based on video evidence, witness statements, and officer's determination that an adult used unlawful force against an 11-year-old child. Remember, adults are held to a higher legal standard. Physical force against a child can lead to serious felony charges. Video evidence and witness statements play a critical role in determining what actually occurred during chaotic incidents. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. That age difference makes this hard to watch. Totally unacceptable. Thank goodness someone recorded it. The truth might have been argued forever. Glad the officers focused on the child's safety first. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and [bell] tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when police rescue child from extremely dangerous neighbor. >> I received information that there's a small child living here in poor living conditions. Why can't you get in there? >> Cuz we got a couch and got two dogs. We usually keep it clean, but we do. She's been eating. Does >> your refrigerator even work? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Where does she sleep? On August 26th, 2024 deputies responded to a report of a three-year-old child with serious injuries in Simpson County. Hospital staff reported multiple injuries. The sheriff's office opened an investigation following the child's hospitalization. How >> you? >> I'm good. [clears throat] So, I got some information that there's a small child that lives here that's basically being neglected. Uh three-year-old maybe or girl. >> What? >> Mhm. Is there a three-year-old that lives here? >> Yeah. Uh Matt's a little girl, but she's not neglected whatsoever. >> Right. And she may not be, but I just got the information that she was. Um she here now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You want me to go in and >> Yeah, I I'll have to I'll have to see her and check on just check on her or whatever. So, >> um, yeah. >> Is the living conditions any better than they were the last time we were here? >> Uh, yes. >> As far as I know, yes. >> Well, Brian has a dang door lock. Let me go to his window. Hang on. >> What's up? >> Not much. >> How are you? >> Just got up. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Sleep your life away that way. >> Oh, yeah. Uh, like I told him, I I received information that there's a small child living here in poor living conditions. I know you still don't have running water. Um, >> so I want to I want to check on the living conditions in the child. >> All right. >> So, >> let me see if I can get them up. >> Okay. >> How are you? >> Pretty good. >> You doing okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Like I told him, I got to uh report that there's a small child living here that's being neglected, living in poor living conditions. Uh no food, no running water. So my job is to just have a look at your child, make sure she's got food and a place to sleep, and then I'll be on my way. >> Cuz I'm right now, we ate what we had last night, but I'm just got my KP. So I go and go get some for today. >> Yeah. But she's not that ugly. How >> is she? >> Officers insist on a welfare check to see where the child sleeps, warning that refusal will prompt immediate child services intervention. >> Yeah, >> she's asleep right now. >> Okay. Well, you can take me to where she sleeps and then um >> Well, we have to go around to the back cuz it's harder to get to the dog. >> Okay. >> Or you want to go get her? >> No, I I want to see where she sleeps. Good. I have to like go inside and see where she sleeps. >> I like to know who called cuz she's not in the car, >> right? I still need to see where she sleeps. >> She sleeps with me and her right now. >> Okay. I'm still going to see before I leave. >> I can't get in there. >> Why can't you get in there? >> Cuz we got a couch and got two dogs, >> right? >> The one dog is a >> I've been here before, sir. >> I'm >> I've been in this house. I and I know what it's going to look like when I go in here. I'm not going to be surprised at all. But I do have to check the welfare of the child before I leave this house. >> Can I go get her? >> I'm going to see where she sleeps. >> I mean, >> entry is granted. Officers observe extreme clutter and unsanitary conditions throughout the home. >> When you act this way, that tells me that it's not going to be good when I go in here. Okay? And as a parent, you should know better. All right? Like it there's no excuse for it. So, I'm going to see where she sleeps before I leave or I'll call social services now to come pick her up. It's up to you. All right. Bye. All right. You can take me in. >> It's messy. I hadn't had time to clean it cuz I've been working. >> I know it's messy. >> I'm trying to get everything done, but everything takes money in it. [laughter] I had all this clean, but it's not now. I am trying to hold on. >> She's right there. >> You get the dog. >> Come here. Right here. Come here. Come here. Down here. Come here. Officers attempt to access the sleeping area, which requires climbing over furniture. Conditions worsen deeper inside the residence. >> I try to put him up. Come on. >> Baby's right there. >> Excuse me. >> This is from last night from the dog. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. >> I got to get cleaned up. We usually keep it clean. But we do. She's been eating. Did your refrigerator even work? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> How do you get to the room where she sleeps? >> Got to go over that. >> Okay. >> God damn it. That's [ __ ] gross. That's crazy. I'm coming in here. Let me sit back there. Okay. You go on in for me. We have to keep our dogs back here >> because they don't get along. >> Where does she sleep? >> Okay. Yeah, we had our dog back here because >> Officers radio for child protective services stating conditions are worse than during prior visits. Documentation [snorts] and video are taken. >> Move my way where I can see. Can you signal six amber back at DCBS and disadvisor? It's worse than the last time. Oh, this is gross. The 35-year-old father and 33-year-old mother were charged with firstdegree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under firstdegree wanted endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor. Both were booked into the Simpson County Detention Center. The charges stem from officers observations of extremely unsafe living conditions and hospital reported injuries with child protective services taking custody and the case proceeding through the courts. Remember unsafe living conditions alone can justify immediate child removal and criminal charges. Repeated warnings or prior visits increase consequences when conditions fail to improve. This is the reaction of netizens to this situation. No child should ever be living like that. Heartbreaking. The officer insisting on seeing where the child slept likely saved a life. This shows why welfare checks matter. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next [bell] saves a life. Pause and comment. That's a problem. All this over a suspended driver's license. >> Yeah, nonsense. >> Did you just get a notice here for that? >> Due to the driver's continued refusal to identify herself and cooperate, she was detained for identification purposes. Citations were issued related to the suspended license and child restraint violation. The child was treated by emergency medical personnel and arrangements were made to ensure the child's safety following the incident. Remember driving without a license and failing to secure a child in a car seat creates serious safety and legal risks. Refusing to cooperate after an accident often escalates a situation that could otherwise be resolved with citations. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. That poor child could have been seriously hurt without a car seat. This went from a ticket to an arrest because of refusal to cooperate. The officers stayed calm while the situation spiraled. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officers rush and comment if you felt that spike. >> I'm sitting my car. Like, "Girl, go to bed." >> So, you get over there, you confront her, get to arguing, and then you just get back in your car and leave. >> We um we all end up leaving. >> See, after the fact, she pulled up in a car, whispered something in mama's ear. Mama said, "Yeah, or no." or something. And then she got back in the car and took off like she was going to handle some business. >> She came here to fight y'all. So, you went there to fight her. Actually, she came here and she just jumped on mom, >> right? >> Brother got in it. 15-year-old got in it. Then another sister comes up and got into the fight and then beat her until she left and they went over to where she was at. The rest of the remaining family members went over there. >> Yeah. The situation is processed as criminal. My nephew came out and he thought I hit my stepmom about her get out the door and he did. He's a little scared. He thought I hit her. He hit me. I grabbed him and that's what it was. I didn't hit him. I grabbed him to hit me. Eventually the neighbor came over to grab him and then I went home and I guess that calls and everyone came to my place. >> I never I tried to open her door. I never hit her. >> Did they hit you? >> That's why my husband was trying to stop him. Yeah, but I don't want to I don't want to get into that. My husband's injured because of an argument. Some stuff my sister said about my father. >> Yes, sir. >> Can I ask what I'm getting charged with >> right now? We got a simple battery. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Multiple witnesses saying that >> your mother. >> What? >> You understand the rights I read to you? >> Yes, sir. >> I understand these rights. You wish to speak with me? >> I'm sorry. I never been. You understand what I read? >> I understand what you read, but you said, "Do I still want to speak to you?" >> If he asked you stuff about the case, you want to answer his questions. You want to talk to him and tell him what happened? >> Yeah. Tell us everything all about the whole thing. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz you already told us that you went over there. You went over there to see your dad. You were speaking with your mom. Mom got upset. Mom, you and mom were >> said I was aggressive for speaking. So, she said some stuff to me. My nephew, he thought I hit her. I didn't hear her. He was the only one there. Right. He came out and he literally attacked me. But he's a kid. I He thought because I was aggressively speaking. I understand. But I stopped him from hitting me and I I grabbed him. But I didn't hear him. >> And where he hit you at? >> He hit me everywhere. That's probably where he's not >> where not came from. >> Well, I don't know. My sister came and jumped me. My step sister, her sister, my niece, my oldest niece, my little niece didn't do anything. >> Tell us. Tell us who all came over there and jumped. >> Miller. >> All right. >> She raced at Sam's Club. I don't know. She went back to work. >> All right. Got to press charges. >> All right. And who else? >> Tanisha Holmes. Jenevia Holmes. >> Got Janeavia. That's the woman I was talking to. When EJ swung on me and thought I hit her, she she came and hit me. Yes. >> Kendrick. >> Kendrick. Last name Miller >> McKenna >> Laura Miller. I don't know if she legal. She goes by both. >> How did all this start? >> My sister sent a whole bunch of nasty messages and I went to try to talk about it. Family violence. >> I got to stay up. >> What were the messages about? >> Talk about my father. >> That's for her. >> All right. What was she saying about your father? >> You don't want to talk about Okay. She was talking about your father. >> Would that Will y'all let the other officer know? My nephew thought I hear her and I didn't. >> But it's okay. >> All right. I got to patch you down my young lady before I get you in here. >> Nobody. This is my husband's glove. I didn't >> Okay. But I do want to press charges on everyone that hit me. I wasn't going to >> because I didn't think they lied on me. But now I hear you. >> The primary female involved and charged her with cruelty, simple battery, criminal trespass, and making terroristic threats because the incident occurred between related parties and involved a juvenile defender. Officers followed family violence protocols. Remember, when family trauma and social media collide, disputes can escalate quickly. Officers will prioritize safety, evidence collection, and separating parties. Family history and emotions, complicate investigations, clear witness statements, and video evidence matter a lot for charging decisions. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. So messy social media started it and everyone went off. Glad police showed up before things got worse. Terrible that family trauma spilled into a street fight. They need counseling, not more fights. Wonder how the prosecutors will sort out who did what. Lots of contradicting witness statements. What do you think about these situations? Comment below to share your thoughts and like this video.
