It's loud. >> I came home and I saw there were scratches on my grandma's arm and I asked where they were from because I knew they were fighting when I was at school. She said the pricker bush. And then my mom was in the bathroom and my grandma went in there and I don't know what happened, but things didn't get physical. I've been trying to get her off. >> I had her packed the first time. I like all packed. >> Not to cut you off. Time out. She came back in. What happened when she came back in? After she said, "I'm not going." >> I was leaving and I got in my car and I sat there and then I said, "I'm not going to leave. I'm waiting for that guy to get here." While I sat in my car, I also called Rushford. >> Okay. >> And I spoke with >> Okay. It doesn't matter who you spoke with. I just want to know the cut. How How did that whole thing happened? Your >> mom. >> She took out a knife and she was like pretending she was going to hurt me, but she she did. >> Ma'am, she she's You have lacerations on your on your on your arm. That's not >> Okay. And that happened earlier. So, the reason why I want to I want to know what happened with that knife, right? With the knife. I don't remember. >> You don't remember what happened, ma'am? Let's not play this game. How do you remember this whole thing of her leaving, repacking and repacking, repacking? You can't remember that. >> Cuz she did it all day long. >> Okay, but how do you not How do you not remember this? How do you not remember that, man? >> She took out the knife. >> When When did this happen with the knife? What time? >> I don't know. We were screaming and yelling at each other. >> Around what time? In the morning time. >> It was be was it before the ride came or after? >> It was before. >> Okay. So, what time? >> Well, the ride came at 12:30. before 12. >> Okay. Before noon. Okay. How did that happen? >> She pulled down a knife. She >> Officers document the grandmother's injuries, confirm the knife was returned to a drawer, and establish that the incident occurred before noon with no other witnesses present. >> Does he know about her? >> He doesn't know about the knife cuts. >> Okay. >> He knows she was supposed to go to to rehab. >> I understand. I'm going to harass you every day of your life. >> And what did she say? >> Why are you doing this to me? I'm going to go. I'm going to go. >> Did she say Did she say she was going to hurt you >> when she got the knife out? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And uh what did she say exactly? And then after she grabbed the knife from the kitchen, what happened to you? >> I told her, "Go ahead and kill me because if I'm gone, you have nobody. You have nobody left in this world." >> So, she grabbed the kitchen knife and then she proceeded to come on this area right here. Is that what happened? Okay. You were working. I understand. And then she came, she brought the knife out >> from that direction. >> Okay. And then what did she do? What did she do? She came over to me with the knife and I kind of went like this and she kind of just me she did it just like that. >> Yeah, I just >> Okay. Where else do you have cuts? >> That's it. Just right there. >> What happened after that? >> She stopped. She went in the bathroom. >> Do you need medical attention, ma'am? I know it's a superficial cut, but do you want me to call the ambulance? >> I don't need medical attention. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah, I have. Yeah, this I mean it's nothing. >> I have other medical conditions, but >> Okay. And so she seem weak. I I'm just a weak person. >> Okay. Okay. I mean, you obviously had a a crazy day today. Clearly very emotional. I understand. You know, >> and I got a bunch of people coming Sunday. >> So, how many how many times did she cut you? Cuz I see you have about three scratches in there. >> Well, yeah. I think she just >> How many times did she make that move, man? >> I think three. >> Three [music] Three times. >> I was just trying to >> Okay. Block her. >> Block my face. Anyway. >> Okay. And after she did that, she went to the bathroom. What happened with the knife? Where's the knife? >> She put it back in the drawer. >> So, you don't know which >> I don't even know which knife it was. almost an inch. >> The juvenile describes a later incident where she intervened after seeing her mother place the grandmother in a choke hold in the [snorts] bathroom, separating them. >> About 5:30. >> How many hours was she in the bathroom for? >> She was in the bathroom a while and I popped the lock and went in to wake her up and get her up. >> Yeah. Did she hit you? at any point after that or not? Did she hate you? You sure about that? >> Um, I am. >> Okay. So, she wakes up. >> She She was yelling and screaming. >> What was your Where was your husband during this whole altercation? Where was he when this whole >> Probably outside mowing the lawn? >> Okay. So, he had no idea about what happened. >> Did you see any of it? No. Her freaking out. I think he's just used to >> Hi, sir. How you doing? >> Her. >> Hi. How are you? >> Good. Good sir. Um, sorry. Yeah, I just came uh I guess uh your granddaughter called 911. >> I would have just called regular. Your daughter and your wife had some sort of incident. What time were you here? Were you here the whole day, sir, at the house or half day? >> A half day. So, you got home around what time would you say from work? >> Well, I had to show a house. >> So, here's one picture of her today. >> Okay, I got you. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Her in the bathroom. >> Mhm. >> I don't know why. >> And where was your daughter when when you guys were arguing? Where was she? >> The granddaughter. >> Yes, your granddaughter. I'm sorry. >> Probably in her room. >> So, she was in her room. She heard you guys screaming. Did she Did she She said that something happened in the bathroom >> between you guys. >> No, >> because that's how that's how word came out. >> Well, maybe it's cuz we were yelling. >> I was trying to get her up and get her out of there. >> Your granddaughter, did she witness this incident of you guys? >> I don't know. What did you witness? I got punched. And >> you got punched where? >> In the head. >> You got punched in the head by who? >> My daughter. >> Your daughter? >> Yeah. The one that called the police? >> Yeah. So, your daughter just punched you in the head? >> Yeah. >> Do you have any knives on you? Any weapons? >> Patter weapons? Yeah. >> All right. You sure? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You want anything right now? Any right now? >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> You have shoes in the house somewhere? Slippers? Something like that? >> Yeah, somewhere. I'm not getting arrested, are you? >> We're doing an investigation right now. I told you you're just being detained right now. You're not under arrest. But you are being detained in handcuffs right now. All right. You just need to explain to me what happened. Okay. >> That's what happened. >> And I was being loud. What led to the physical altercation? I know there was a verbal altercation, but who went after who? >> She went after me. She just came and hit me. >> So, you're just saying that your daughter just came into the bathroom and hit you in the head? >> Yeah. She came, ran at me, and punched me. I don't want her to get arrested. By the way, >> nobody's talking about that, but I need to understand what's going on right now. Okay. >> Hi. Do you need any medical attention? Are you okay? Did she hurt you at all? Did she hit you at all? >> Okay. All right. >> Those are for your mom. >> Yeah. Thank you. So, you were in the bathroom looking for your meds. You guys were yelling, arguing? >> Yeah. >> And you're saying that she just came into the bathroom and punched you. >> Yeah. She got mad because I was yelling. I was like, "Mom, you know where they are." All of a sudden, she came out of her room cuz her friend's here. >> Mhm. Thank you for calling. [music] >> Did she make any threats to your grandmother? strangled. >> When was that? >> Like 5 minutes before I called. >> Okay. And it strangled her. How? What was she doing? >> Well, she was in the bathroom and she like had her like this around her >> from behind, >> I think. So, yeah. >> So, your mom was behind your grandmother and she had her kind of in a choke hold. >> Okay. >> And then I went in and like pulled it apart. >> And how did you pull it apart? Like I kind of just went from behind my mom and just like put her. >> Officers compare statements conclude the juvenile's physical contact was defensive and determined the adult daughter was the primary aggressor. >> Probably why she saying I got punched in the head. It was her daughter defending her grandmother. >> How old is mom saying? >> Old. You probably have on an elderly. I would say over 65. >> Daughter got upset with a verbal argument so she went into the bathroom and punched her in the head. >> Yeah. No, it's not. It's not what the daughter said. >> Not at all. >> Yeah. Can you tell us what happened tonight? What you saw? >> I just want to listen to your granddaughter. >> Where is it? Where is it? >> Yeah. Okay. I'll just listen to your granddaughter for a second if you don't mind. >> I mean, if you want to hear it. >> Well, I was just staying in my room. >> So, you didn't see this happening or did you see that? >> Well, I was staying in my room and then I heard like things get physical in the bathroom and then I came out of my room to pull them apart. >> Did you pull them apart? >> Yeah. Right. Come on. >> Okay. So yeah, we have obviously assault with a knife. She said I asked which knife it was. There's a bunch of She's like, "I don't know." But they're in there. >> And you've got assault for today and for this right now and assault for this morning. >> I want to make sure you're okay cuz you this you told me that you had a condition. Correct. >> I do. >> I'm still going to call the paramedics. I just want them to check you out. >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Please. >> I just want to make sure. >> This is all embarrassing enough. >> No, it's not. Listen, my job is to make sure you're safe and sound. Okay. >> But that's >> all right. >> I am. >> You sure? >> Yeah. Your head doesn't hurt because if she was pulling your hair. >> No. No. That was from behind. And >> can I see your neck real quick? Would you mind picking up your hair for me? >> Okay. Did she punch you in the head, ma'am? >> No. >> No. She just wrapped her arms around your neck. Is that what happened? >> Yeah. That I don't even remember. >> You didn't hit your head any >> police explain arrest procedures and protective conditions to the family. The adult daughter is formally arrested and transported. >> No, she's not going to be allowed back at the home. She'll have to go somewhere else. We're going to put something what's called a conditions of release. It's a temporary protective order and it keeps her from coming here. If she were to come here, she'd be arrested on a felony. She cannot come back until her court date, which is going to be Monday. So, from today until Monday, she's not allowed back here at the house. >> So, there goes her bed at CVH. >> Just because she can't be here doesn't mean she can't go to CVH. She just can't be in this house. If she's got to meet somewhere, she can call them and say, "Can I meet you at Starbucks or can I meet you at the commuter lot?" She just can't be at the home. >> Well, she's not going to be able to bond out. So, >> well, that if she makes a phone call to someone or it depends on what happens, the bail commissioner may let her out. We don't know what's going to happen until it happens. But if she does get let out, we'll give you a call and let you know because she's not going to be allowed at the home. Okay. >> All right, Denise. So, you are under arrest right now. Okay. >> No, I am not kidding. So, you are under arrest. I'm going to be transporting you back to the police department right now. >> So funny now. I hope they arrest my daughter and my mother. [crying] >> You got to try to take a deep breath for me. Okay. >> I'm sorry. They've been trying this to me all day long myself. Oh god, I hate my life so bad. What's going to happen to them? The ones who were putting their hands on me. >> There's an entire investigation that's going to be done. Okay, those are other officers over there doing the rest of the investigation. >> Good. Because they deserve to go to jail, too. >> Janice was living somewhere else until maybe 2 years ago, maybe. >> Okay. But she lives here, too. >> Now, yeah. >> Okay. >> But I told her we're moving soon as she graduates. >> Mhm. >> High school. She going to college. >> Okay. So, what I'm going to do here, so this statement is is just you telling me what happened. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So, I'm going to write this statement like I'm you. Okay. So, I'm going to Do you Do you give me permission to write this statement on your behalf? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, I'm >> You let AI write it. >> She threatened you. She cut you with the knife. And then when did she strangle you? Cuz you told one of the officers that, too. And it's all on camera. So, if you might as well put that on, you know what I mean? Like, if this if this all if this is what happened. >> I think she said when she pulled my hair, she had her I don't remember. So, she pulled your hair back and her arm was around your throat. >> She said my ar her arm I don't recall that being the case, but >> go ahead and write it. >> I'm not Listen, I >> I mean, that's what I'm just saying. I don't recall. Maybe because I was too worried about her pulling out my already thinning hair. >> Oh, it's not thinning. >> Yes, you should see my hair when I was >> So, she pulled your hair back. She had her arm around your throat like her >> probably would have been her arm. So it was like her between your throat was in between her bicep and her forearm >> probably. Yeah. >> Okay. And she was choking you or strangling you? >> Yeah. >> Were you able to breathe during that time when >> Yeah, I think so. Yeah. >> She came to break it up right away. She was there. So I mean it didn't go on for any length of time >> during all this. How you felt like were you scared for your life? >> No. >> When she was threatening you with the knife and all that stuff. You weren't scared for your life saying that she said she was going to kill you. I told her to go ahead and put me out of my misery. >> Okay. >> So, >> but you weren't like were you scared? >> Maybe a little. I I kind of knew she wasn't gonna actually hurt me. >> People know people their whole lives and people snap sometimes. I'm not telling you what to write. I'm just I'm just saying like >> a little uneasy. I more worried believe it or not my dog being nervous about whole thing. >> This is this is about you right now. And then what happened after the fight was separated? I came out here again. This is like my safe space. And then, you know, these videos that I had, I was taping her back on like a nutcase. >> Okay. So, when you recorded Denise, what was she doing? Was she just like just losing her mind? Like, >> yeah, because she thought I took her out and take nothing. I don't know if she did them all or what she do with them. >> So, just can you describe like the pain level from like the cuts like when the knife and all that happened like like on a scale of 1 to 10? fear, pain, all that. Like, was it was it a 10 out of 10? 10 being the worst, or one being not so bad. Honestly, >> one [music] >> one a cut from an Okay. >> My skin is very thick. >> Okay. So, you're going to go with a one out of 10. >> All right. Let's make it an eight. I know you're pushing. >> I'm not I'm not pushing you. I'm I'm asking you something to happen to her. >> Okay. Well, I I'm not telling you what to say. >> There's scratches. So, I >> Right. There's scratches like from a knife, but I'm just cur like I just want to know like >> All right. Maybe a three. >> A three. Okay. The pulling of the hair is much worse. >> Yeah, the hair pulling probably a nine. >> Fear level. What would you give that? >> Seven. >> All right. The adult daughter was charged with assault risk of injury to a child disorderly conduct and threatening. These charges were applied based on officer findings that she allegedly used a knife to cause injuries to her mother earlier in the day, engaged in threatening behavior, and was involved in a physical altercation in the presence of a minor. Remember, domestic disputes can escalate quickly when stress and unresolved issues combine, making early intervention important. Calling emergency services can help ensure safety and allow authorities to assess situations involving potential harm. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. That was intense to watch, especially hearing how the timeline came together. Glad officers took time to separate everyone and listen to each person. Hard situation for the whole family, but it shows why calling for help matters. think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police save teen girl from her extremely toxic mother. >> The cops have been here where she's dug her arms in me. She's run away once before. She took my hair and she twisted it and she yanks my neck and I can't breathe when she does that. >> She like literally just started swinging on me, ripped my shirt, like started scratching me. like she's horrible like that. [music] >> On April 6th, 2023, officers arrived after a call reporting a physical altercation between a mother and her teenage daughter. Both allege a history of prior conflicts. >> Telling you what happened. >> What happened tonight? >> She did the same thing. She >> Okay, you can come on in. >> All right. So, what's going on? >> She um she's been hitting on me for about 2 years. You don't know. You're not here. Go in the kitchen. What? You're not even part of it. >> Talk to me that way. Giving her too much help for something that you should have done a little each day for 10 minutes. I came to help you. >> So, she come in my room and she asked to >> She defended herself. >> No, she didn't go in the kitchen. You wasn't even up there. >> I told her. >> So, what happened? >> So, she comes in the bedroom and she got she's like, "Mom, I'm so stressed cuz we're having some issues with the whole movement, but everything's fine. Her dad's helping." I said, "Kayla, you have your dad's to go to. Your stuff's going to be safe. What are you stressed about?" She completely flips out on me. I said, "Leave my room." Refuses for like 15 minutes. So, I finally went to remove her from my room. >> You put me and I have every mark on my >> So, anyways, I put I did put my hands on her arm to remove her from my room. >> The mother acknowledges striking the daughter during the confrontation. The daughter states that the mother swung first and that she defended herself. >> She flips out, starts hitting me, which she's done for years. I mean there she we've had to call lie out here two or three times for her hitting on me. She's punched me. She's broke my glasses. I have and I I kept I begged her. I begged her. But I did defend myself. I did hit her back. >> No, you swung on me first. Mom, you swung on me first. I wouldn't hit you. You swung on me. I literally my arms are covered up. >> There's me right now in front of you. I came to offer to pay money to get a place to live to help you. You talk dirty like a dog and then holler for me to call the police. No, that don't work. >> The mother describes hair pulling and neck twisting. Officers redirect the conversation to focus on the current incident at the residence. >> There's a lot of stuff you could probably tell on. >> I'm tired of her hitting me, mother. >> She But there is there there is a history. There is a history. Her dad's had to call her. The cops have been here where she's dug her arms in me. She's run away once before. She's uh punched me in my face, broke glasses. So I I did I did put my hands on her and my face go >> I'm just tired of it. >> All right. So what do you mean you put hands on her? >> When she she had me by my hair and she was twisting my neck and went just let her talk and I took her to on vacation. >> We'll get to you after. Okay. >> When we were in Tennessee um she flipped out on me. She always swings on. >> Well, we're not in Tennessee. We're here right now. >> I was telling you what happened. >> What happened tonight? >> She She did the same thing she did there. She took my hair and she twisted it and she yanks my neck and I can't breathe when she does that. So when she did, I grabbed her by her hair. >> So while she was in your room, you told her to get out. >> She didn't get out. >> The mother details attempting to pull the daughter from the room followed by mutual swinging. She admits the altercation escalated for several minutes. >> No, she for like 15 minutes she >> So then you grabbed her arm to her out her >> and then what happened after that? She just turns around and she starts doing this stuff like she always does. She always like gets her arms and does this at me and goes, "Come on, come on." >> Which arm did you grab? >> She was standing like that. So >> you grab the most I like that. I I told y'all I defended myself tonight. She was She was knocking the hell out of you. Grab her tried to pull her out the door. >> Well, I just tried to like I went, "Come on, like that." And she was like She just starts swinging. She always does this kind of stuff at me and it's just crazy. Like I've let her hit me for years. >> All right. So how did you defend yourself? I hit her back. I'm not going to deny. >> Or did you hit her? >> Oh, well, I come at her like that. Like, stop. Stop like that. And she was putting her arm and when she was coming, see, she's a little bit taller than me. So, her her reach goes further. She's coming over me. >> So, how' your shirt get ripped? >> Me. >> Swinging and yanking on. >> I think I think I was yanking on her, honestly. I mean, it it got it got crazy for about 2 minutes. I did hit her back. I'm not going to deny it. I was I mean I did but I let her hit on me for a couple of minutes and then I finally was like had enough. >> The grandmother reports entering during the altercation observing the mother advancing on the teen and believing the teen was trying to get away. >> What's your name? >> Lyanna. I mean I don't want her to go to jail. But >> well here's the thing. With this being a family violence offense at minimum reports. >> So speak your first time for me. >> Did you see any of this? I'm going to tell you straight up is wrong. I'm the grandmother. I ain't that old perfect to come down. >> Are you her mom? >> Willing to help anything I could do. Even rent a U-Haul, but my car money. I'm trying to get me a car. My mother just died. Trying to get one car until I can find one for certain. Okay. One thing's going to another look. The thing I've got against all this is my daughter has had about right at what two months time they did their [ __ ] and all that. Don't get all the baby because she waited till tomorrow night. You got to be out. >> She's just mad at the world. I won't walk in here and the child's giving back what she's getting pretty much. And if you want the truth, I think the mama's in wrong tonight. I don't I think the mama's in wrong. If I could talk. What did you actually see? What happened? >> I went up there and they were going at it and my daughter was holding call the law. Call the law. And I said, "I'm not doing that. You're as guilty as she is and you don't need to involve the law." >> So, you don't know who who started what or >> I know that when I walked in, she's really jumped me. I know she her got a history, but I mean, the way she's having to live right now, you know, she don't even know where she's going. Officers interview the teen who reports being grabbed, scratched, kicked, and having her shirt ripped. Officers observe redness and visible marks. >> She did tell me to leave the room. >> Okay. >> And I wanted to talk to her about stress. The reason I went in there, she automatically just dismissed it because she don't know where we're going. We got evicted um sometime last month and we went to court at the end of March and they told us we had April till tomorrow to get out all of our all of our stuff. I asked her what we were going to do when we got all of our stuff packed tomorrow. >> Okay. >> She don't know. So, she got upset about it and grabbed my arm like y'all told me and then when I nudged back to ask why like why is she dismissing it? She like literally just started swinging on me, ripped my shirt, like started scratching me like >> where did you get hit at? Like I got I don't know. There's like a scratch right here and then all on my arms. >> Yeah. Some on my legs. >> What? >> I'm sorry. Let me see. >> We're stuck in here. >> No, we're not. Give me one second. >> All right. Did you see >> done my best to come down here and try to help her and I offered to get a new haul and try to get a place everything. She was ready to go off on me when I walked in there and all that and she was picking out. >> Did you see anything that happened upstairs or >> I know that she tried to get away from her several times and she just kept going at her and I said, "Leave her alone. Leave her alone." And she even got behind me and she kept doing it. Then it's called I said I'm not doing it now. I'm not got a reason why that tore my nerves up and I think she's at fault or not at least doing a little bit. I had offered for 2 months kept her doing this. You know what I'm saying? We don't wait and jump on the 15y old because she can't get it fast enough. >> The daddy ain't doing right. The mama ain't doing right. And she needs to come with a damn mama. I ain't got nothing but a two-bedroom either. But until they can get it together, she can stay in my house. >> Okay. >> I'm not the best in the world. I wasn't a good mama. I ain't been a great room with her. But I'm trying. I am trying. And you cannot deal with that one out there. She is very hostile for the world. >> Do you have any other marks other than on your arms and your eye? >> Um I don't know about my legs. I know she kicked me a few time in my legs, but >> Okay. >> Um besides like my stomach and everything, I don't think I have anything. So, but my face does hurt a little bit weird. >> After comparing statements and injuries, officers determined that the mother crossed a line during a family violence incident and placed her under arrest. Yeah. >> And that one right there just she just all the time. She's man and she's >> Do you want need to get paramedics out here to check on you? Do you think she needs to be checked out by paramedics? >> I think. >> Okay. >> But I don't think she ought to take this route. I don't not this time. She wasn't going to school. She wasn't doing that. But the child had done nothing. She >> who her nothing had done as all she did was kick that one off of her side. >> What did you see? >> They were going and I got in my car. She was just trying to pretty much get her off snapping her own. I was trying to get away from her >> and then I got finally said stop the y'all and got clean and when I did she tried to stay behind me and I was saying we're in the room and she was trying to to stay behind me and that right there kept coming at her swinging over me and all that [ __ ] >> Okay. Who has primary custody? Mom or dad? Mom. >> Okay. >> Do you have any brute marks or anything on you? >> Yeah, I mean I have >> anything I could I could see to >> Sure. Yeah. >> I got a light right here. It was all red up and through here on this >> chest is a little red. >> And then uh she had me like my neck popped but I know there ain't no more from that. >> She hit you there too. >> Yeah, she was swinging on them. I don't know if I had anything on my face but >> she hit you in the face. >> Oh yeah. She she got me one time. >> Is that from your glasses or >> I don't even know. She knocked my glasses off as you can see there and she just starts cussing me. She was like, "I don't want to deal with this." And like earlier, she told me she was like, "You can lose feel like she's horrible like that." And I was like, "Sit down. Sit down. Talk to me." And she stood up and I said, "Kay, sit down." Cuz I'm trying to discipline her. She goes, "What are you going to do, Mom?" So I turned around and I was like, "No, I've had enough. Get out of my room." And she wouldn't leave. So I I did like that. >> Okay. >> And I went to pull her. And when I did, she starts sprinting. She starts like that. And she started swinging like >> with other hand that wasn't. No, with the arm I had she's like while you were holding her >> Yeah. She's so freaking strong. Like it's crazy. And she tries to act like like she's intimidating. I can't stand it. Like she does this swinging thing. >> And she like, "Come on. Come on then. Open up." And I used to have to buy her every morning from school. I had to call y'all every morning and tell y'all it wasn't an emergency, but she wouldn't go to school. So I would get >> Yeah, I think I've been out here. >> She come like running at me in my bedroom again. And I just I can't I don't know why. Like she come in my bedroom. I did like that and she >> You kicked her. >> Yes. >> Where'd you kick her? >> I don't even know. I think it covered in her thigh. She's a little bit taller than me. >> Is that how her shirt got ripped? >> Probably. I mean, I probably did. You know what I mean? But I don't know why they're not telling the truth. But I mama was like, "Don't call." I was like, "No, I've got to make a report. I got to because she just gets away with this. She's got to wait this year." But I they're like hollering. Are you going to tell this or you know? And I'm like, "Yeah, I'll tell them I hit her. I'm going to own it." I mean, >> when's the most recent incident other than tonight? >> It's been a little while. I'm not going to lie. I think the last time the cops come out here when her dad call, I think that scared her cuz the cop that was here, he didn't like her attitude and he kind of got back with her and that kind of shocked her. But >> daughter's saying mom kicked her. Nonetheless, despite anything that happened, that is excessive. That child's got marks on it. >> Mom's going to jail. >> She's got marks on it, too. I mean, I get that, but it doesn't matter if >> I didn't see the extent of the marks on the daughter. >> Oh, she's got she got redness. She's got redness under her on her chest, on her shoulder, and like a little mark on her nose where her glasses got knocked off. >> Well, grandma said that when she got up there, mom was coming at the child. Child was just trying to get away from mom. >> Yeah, that's what she told me, too. >> Go ahead and stand up for me. >> Can I put my finger down? >> You can put it in your mouth. >> Go ahead. >> You can smoke it while we're doing this. You got anything illegal on you? >> No. >> All right. Anything that would be a misdemeanor out here once we get to the county jail, if you have it on you, it becomes a felony for crossing guard lawn. >> I don't have anything. >> Okay. >> I'm not saying you do. Everyone gets the same opportunity. Okay. >> We just tell everybody that. That way. >> No, I don't have >> They know. You got a phone or anything you want to bring in there? >> My phone's dead. Um, but I do know my ex's number. >> Do you need a wallet or anything like that? >> Do I need it? >> It's up to you. All right. I'm going to come back here to this car. Come over here, ma'am. >> All right. So, she's going to go with us tonight. >> Okay. The mom I can't remember her name. >> Now, what are we going to do? >> Um, you're taking her to jail. >> Yeah, he he's taking her to jail. I don't like I said, he talked to y'all. I don't know what >> what exactly lie. I'm not taking >> I don't know what exactly he's >> You don't wait till the last minute when you got to be out in the morning at 12:00 when you know that you could be doing the business every day. That all matter is that there's kitchen and flat, >> right? and you'll have to see a judge in the morning because it's a family violence offense. Okay. >> Officers explain next steps, arrange for the teen to stay with family temporarily and transport the mother to jail pending a court appearance. >> Is she going to get in trouble >> right now? No. >> Why am I >> Well, >> you took the punishment beyond >> Oh, am I going to this one? >> Yeah, we're coming right here. I get your daughter's hitting on you and all that, but >> bad. I mean, it's been years. >> As a parent, you still got to make sure you don't cross that line. And the marks on her is why you're going to jail right now. Okay. >> Okay. So, I have to be out by midnight. Well, I get You said I'll see a judge in the morning. >> You should see the judge in the morning. They'll set you a bond and they'll put whatever they got to put on that whatever stipulations, stuff like that. Are you okay with Kayn staying with your mama in the time being? >> Oh, yeah. Well, I mean, >> or if you want to call her daddy up here and tell him he's got to come pick her up. I mean, with you being the primary guardian, we have to figure out where you want her to be. >> Can I Can you call her dad? >> We call. You want him to come pick her up? >> Yeah. And I That way he will know to get me out. >> Will I be able to bond out >> once the judge sets a bond? >> Okay. But I will get to see him today. >> I can't tell you that you'll get to see him today. You should get to see him around 9:00, but I don't know if they're going to have a judge in at 9:00 or if it's the following day. I can't I can't give you that answer. >> Okay. Well, I mean, like normally, do y'all have him every day? >> I don't work for the I I don't know. >> I mean, I'm so scared about that. >> Well, when we get up there, you'll be able to talk to them and they'll be able to tell you the sheriff's office. They're the one who handles all that stuff. >> Where are you? >> Like all of this, which we had right here a little bit. I think my stomach's okay. >> Yeah. If you don't mind, just go like this. That way, I can see the shirt rib. Okay. Yeah, that looks a little swollen. Where you going to school now? >> She don't know. She's going I dropped out. I was fixing to get my GED, but >> I know I've been over here a few times trying to get >> I thought >> trying to get you to go to school. >> Yeah. >> I know. I was going to try to get my GED, but then every time I went to do that, she would not let me do it. Like >> we've got one lady that left the country to get away from it. >> Okay. What do you want What do you want to do when you get older? >> Be financially stable somehow. I do not want to be strong. >> You can't get a job without a high school education. Most jobs. So that make that a priority. And I told her I help her get her license if she really go to school. Now >> once you once you turn 17, 18, you can file for emancipation and and and move out. >> Uh but you got to you got to have a job. You got to have a license. Do you have a license? >> No. And that's the thing. She can't get one if they don't if they if they don't help her to go, you know, to go. She's 15. She can't drive herself, >> right? Do you have a license? >> Me? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. and my car's transmission went out. >> Okay. >> And my mother just recently died. So >> I've been over here 11 years in May. >> Okay. >> And I told her just go up my house and just try it. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to try to help you get your license and you drive out my car and as long as you ain't going to run around in the morning, but you know it won't be like this. We'll deal with it. >> That's something if you if you want it, you got to you got to work for it. It's not easy, but if that's something you want to do, you'll you'll you'll find a way. >> You just have to go to work. >> Yeah. >> That ain't all you got to do. I mean, I I was a bad mom, but I can admit it. That one right there has got issues. Really bad. And her daddy, they're both >> Josh. >> I'm being arrested. >> Why? >> Because um I defended myself with Kaye and cuz her hitting on me. She started hitting on me again tonight and I I'd had enough and she's got a mark on her that's worse than mine I think and I'm being arrested >> about an hour ago and her and mama are sitting in there and I don't even know what all they've told but they they want telling the way it went h it happened. You know how they are but >> I'll get over there. >> Will you come and get me out? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> All right. Bye. >> Bye. Thank you so much. Are you okay with Kaylee staying here with your mom till he gets over here or? >> Well, I mean, it doesn't matter. I I really don't. >> The mother was charged with cruelty to children in the first degree. Officers applied this charge based on their assessment that the mother used physical force during a family violence incident that resulted in visible injuries to the minor. Remember, family disputes can escalate quickly, especially during periods of stress and instability. Visible injuries and consistent witness accounts play a key role in how officers assess responsibility. This is the reaction of netzens [music] to this situation. Hard to watch, but important to see how officers sort through conflicting stories. Glad the teen had adults and police there to step in. Shows how fast arguments can turn physical when tensions are high. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when raging mom ends up in deep trouble when police find her runaway kid. >> Or not. I'm moving out of this town. In the name of Jesus Christ, I'll get out of this town. appreciate appreciate your your love. All in the name of Jesus Christ have my son. >> On December 13th, 2023, officers respond to a report of a runaway juvenile returning to the residence. The mother is highly agitated, yelling religious statements and ordering the child out of the house. >> What's your purse look like? >> Can you want me to just walk by there? Don't move. Don't move. Don't move. Don't move. >> He's back here. He's back here. >> Godamn mom. >> I'm gone. >> Come here. >> No, you're not. >> Come here. >> GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. >> COME HERE. >> GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. GET OUT OF MY GODDAMN HOUSE. YOU'RE SO >> I'M NOT IN YOUR HOUSE. >> YOU GET THE OUT OF MY GODDAMN >> I'M NOT IN YOUR HOUSE. >> LOCK THAT DOOR. DON'T YOU ANSWER IT. DON'T YOU DARE ANSWER IT. BACK UP NOW. >> GET OUT OF THERE. NO. YOU KNOW WHAT HE'S BEEN GOING THROUGH? YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO ME? >> QUIT SCREAMING AT ME. YOU KNOW WHO GOD IS. >> QUIT SCREAMING at me, lady. >> Your soul depends on GET OUT OF [screaming] MY HOUSE IN THE name of Jesus Christ. Your soul DEPENDS ON IT. NOW YOU'RE GOING TO DIE. >> You are not all right. Your soul depends on >> Officers explain the teen has an active pickup order as a runaway and is not legally allowed to be at the residence. The mother continues shouting and accusing others of harming her child. >> You better not even let HIM GET BY WITH THIS ONE. >> He's got a pickup ORDER ON A MONTH. >> NO, HE DOESN'T. BUT I GOT CUSTODY. YOU KNOW BETTER, BOY. YOU KNOW WHAT THIS KID'S BEEN GOING THROUGH. YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH. YOU KNOW YOU'RE HOOKED UP TO THE LINE. >> ARE YOU AN ANGEL? >> ARE YOU A STEWARD? >> WHAT DO YOU NEED, DAVID? >> Over here somewhere. >> One detain. >> Son of a goddamn mother. All you mother burn mother hook her up. >> No, you're not. You [ __ ] >> Listen, you guys don't need this. >> God damn it. >> God, you're breaking my arm. >> Didn't cooperate with this. Okay, I am clever. >> Police attempt to deescalate, asking the mother to sit and listen. She remains combative, paranoid, and non-compliant. >> Do you know what he's going through this? >> Well, right now he's >> he's currently got a pickup order. He's >> M Indiana wants them. >> Well, who's going to protect these kids? You know what I'm saying? I am his mother. >> Okay. Okay. I'm Nobody. He's running around with with these enemies of Christ. >> Let's step back here and have a seat, please. >> Where? >> In your chair. >> Can I get pants and a shirt and some shoes on? >> Hang on just a moment. Okay. I'm going to explain what's going on. >> Let's all just take a breath. >> So, right now, >> I cannot believe this. >> Can I please explain this to you? Officers conduct a protective sweep of the home after safety concerns arise. They locate suspected paraphernalia during the clearing process. >> Amy, may I please explain this to you? >> Yeah. >> So, right now, he when I ran his information, he came up as a runaway missing person out of my Okay. >> He wasn't even supposed to be at my >> somebody CPS with our CPS. They can't even be out of the county. >> And then >> he's not even supposed to be out of the county when he's CPS and he was supposed to be with them because he could be live with his grandma. >> 16 years. He just came home. I know what's going on. Okay. I know you think you want my sons and I can't have my cat for >> Nobody said you can't have >> the residence is secured. Officers assist the teen in gathering clothing while the mother is detained. >> I'm trying to explain to you what's going on and you won't let me finish. >> Is there anybody else here? See my police department. >> Oh, lots of paraphernalia. >> Get it out. >> Oh, get your gun out. >> Police department. Make yourself known. unlock the door. >> No, it's not that door. It's the other door. >> No, we got >> Oh, this is the bathroom. Huh? >> The bathroom door. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Clear. [music] This closes clear. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Officers explain the mother is being temporarily detained due to the paraphernalia and ongoing investigation. She remains verbally hostile. >> Help you real quick. >> These your pants you put them on. All right. >> Don't try anything stupid. >> You don't need time. >> Huh? You need time. >> Sure. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Okay. What shoes are we're looking for? >> These are the ones. >> So Amy, just to clarify, while these officers conducted a clearing sweep of your residence, they located articles of paraphernalia and some sort. So right now, you're just being detained for the paraphernalia. Okay. Soon as we figure out what the detective wants to do, we'll go from there. And >> during further interaction, the mother physically pushes an officer who is pursuing a suspect, escalating the situation. >> We met after that on that stuff. Okay. Um, would you like a second set of handcuffs so your shoulders aren't squeezed together or anything? Okay. Well, the offer's there if you change your mind. All right. What's the other thing you were talking about that happened earlier? >> I'm not at liberty to say at this time because I don't want to say anything I shouldn't. So contact the detective to [music] >> stand up. Do you want an extra cuff so you have a little more room? >> Yeah, please. You want me to loosen yours? >> You good? >> So, who's who's grandma? I guess she is she technically even though I know she >> mother. >> She's your mother. >> She is my mother and she's been taken advantage of by strangers. >> Okay. Um, please >> responsible. >> What's her name? >> Linda. >> So, just so you know, Uh, this is the main this is the main stuff I found right here. >> Okay. >> The mother is placed under arrest. Officers allow her to retrieve personal items while she continues to make accusatory and emotional statements. >> Oh my god. Are you serious? >> Hit the police officer in the face. You're going to >> No, I'm trying to keep him out of my door. I I don't feel like I need to go to jail. >> Well, he was chasing a suspect fresh pursuit. Okay. And you you pushed him before you made it to the door. >> And then after battering him by pushing him. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Well, fine. We'll go to jail. I'll go to jail then. That's fine. Persecute me. >> I'll go to jail. >> You got a key to get back in when you get out? >> No, I got to get my purse. You know >> where's your purse at? >> It's in my bedroom. >> Okay. Where is it at? >> Walk with you to get it. >> Where is it at? In your bedroom. >> In It's in my chair. Like if you reach like behind my chair and you pull it. >> Can you get my medicine, too? >> Sure. >> Damn. So rude. How I'm so disgusted. >> So damn disgusted. Who's going to bail me out? >> Yeah, it's in the chair. Like behind it, you know, it's real little. You got to reach behind the chair and then reach down in there. >> What medicines you need? >> My spoile. >> Probably can't probably take that in there. God, no. You got to reach into the green chair and pull it up like this. See, show me like this. When you reach into there, you got to pull it like that. >> What the There's a green chair, so there's nothing in the chair. What's your purse look like? >> Can you want me to just walk back there? >> Okay, >> I'm bringing her back there. Show me his purse. >> She's coming back. >> Thanks a lot, guys. >> Jump back out to you, sir. >> Appreciate Appreciate your your love. All in the name of Jesus Christ. Officers ensure the residence is secured and explain the next steps regarding the juvenile. >> Why do you need my house key? You want to get I'm moving out. I'm moving out of this town in the name of Jesus Christ. I'll get out of this town. >> Shut your mouth. [snorts] Shut your mouth. It's in there. It's right there. >> Lock your door for you. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. >> All right. Jesus. >> Like it matters. You know, in times like these. >> Yeah, I could tell he does hate me. I don't know why Jesus Christ would hate me, but yes, I can tell. I can tell this is his people and he works for them and I could tell. Appreciate your love. >> Transport them both. >> All I ever did was try to stand up for you, but thank you for being lawless. You know, I appreciate you taking me to jail. We really learned a lot. This is the way home. Thanks for guarding. >> Clean out my car real quick. >> Thanks a lot, boys. never done a damn thing for me. But wait, take four days to get my house key back because I guess I'm responsible for him too and the whole apartment on the block the door for you, right? >> Step to your son. >> Yeah, I know. That is wrong. That's wrong. That's what that's what your police force and you know your Jesus Christ religion has done for the 15y old when he can't you know be around his mother and I go to jail for it and my mother is too crazy she can't even now I've lost my home and I've lost everything I'll just sh >> The mother was charged with battery against a public safety official simple assault and resisting law enforcement the charges stemmed from physical contact with an officer refusal to comply with commands and disruptive behavior during the execution of a juvenile pickup order. Remember, emotional instability and refusal to cooperate [music] can quickly escalate a welfare check into criminal charges. Clear pickup orders [music] and prior juvenile court involvement limit parental discretion during police encounters. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This was chaotic from the first second. Police showed a lot of patience. The kid clearly needed help, not more screaming. Religious delusions mixed with anger made this situation dangerous fast. The tension is already high. Or [music] so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life. Pause. And comment what you do here. The next incident is when entitled mother refuses [music] to leave after custody dispute ends badly. >> I want to see my kids. On April 3rd, 2024, officers are dispatched after a mother arrives at the father's residence demanding to see her children despite a court order requiring supervised visitation. >> See my kids. >> Okay. Supervised visitation shall occur at leave. >> It's a shelter. She said that it's a dependency shelter order. There we go. mother supervised, right? Visitation has to be supervised. >> Well, she doesn't want to be supervised. She said that this year doesn't tell her. >> That's not up to her. >> The mother is only to have supervised uh visit, but she doesn't want them supervised. She wants to see them whatever she wants. >> Okay. So, supervising supervised visitations at all times by DCF or an adult third party approved by the department. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Has there been a third party approved by the department of supervised? So is it just DCF? >> Shall occur at the department's office center or place agreed upon by parties a minimum of one time per week for 2 hours? Okay. Has there been any sort of visitation uh prior to today or is this the first time >> that she shows up here? >> This is the third time she shows up. The father explains this is the third time the mother has come to the residence without supervision including waiting outside the home and near the school. >> Okay. And the other times has she had supervision with DCF or she just come? >> I didn't want to call the police. I just told her you know that you should not be supposed to be here. Can you please go? >> Last time was last Friday. She was here for an hour and a half. >> We believe that she was waiting for me in the school which she >> her brother just called me. She called him. She was at school waiting for the kids. That's the what I don't like. >> And she cannot do that. >> And then she saw you like she was following you. >> Yeah. >> Because the school is right behind our house. >> I'm not following. >> Yeah. I feel like she's talking. She was talking. She's talking. >> I don't want to see kids seeing the police cuz they're going to get go wild. But this is the third time that we have to deal with this. The first time that I'm calling the police cuz she she doesn't she doesn't want DCF doing the visits with her. She wants to see the kids without supervision. That's a big, you know, problem here. >> What's the context behind behind this? Was it abuse involved? Uh, >> neglect. Child neglect. >> Officers explain the court orders terms and advise the father to document the violation for family court proceedings. >> She's mentally unstable. Um, so that's why they try to get her in like a mental institution, but she's >> she doesn't want to they don't want to get her burial card, right? Which is crazy. >> She doesn't live here, right? >> No. Okay. >> In Tampa. >> So, I'm going to go try to explain this to her. I'm going to she does she have her own copy of this? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> That was the first time that she showed up when they gave her the copy. >> Kind of arguing with me that, you know, what's this? Why are you doing this to me? D. I thought that she you cannot be here. Talk to the court. We just have the kids now. Just talk to the court, please. And then she show up last Friday because she canceled the appointment on Wednesday because it was with DCF. And she told DCF, "No, I'm going to go see them on Friday without you." and she came in. Thankfully, we were not here, but I can see her through the camera. She sat here for like an hour and a half waiting for us to come back. And today, DC, the CF called us yesterday. She just texted us that she's going to show up at the house tomorrow because she doesn't want the CF to have the visit. Has to be on her own terms. So, they told us be ready. She most likely going to show up today. And she did. >> This visit takes on her own term. Stuff is not up to her. No, >> there's a court order with the Department of Children and Families. When she can see her children, she has to abide by that. from that. You guys have to I'm going to give you an event number. Uh it's going to document why we were out here today. You guys need to whenever your next visitation to uh to child court is, you need to provide them with this letting know she's violating the court order. They'll judge take that into consideration with the court case. As of today, um we're going to you can trespass her. He's already fing trespass form. >> Okay. >> Uh that'll be the first step towards having her stop coming here. she comes back here, she can get arrested for trespassing >> just for being here >> just for the line >> because there this this is pretty set in stone. This is a court order. She can only be here supervised with DCF or a person that DCF chooses to have supervision with and she cannot come here by herself and she's been doing that is documented today. All this is on camera. Okay. >> So, this is going to be a documentation that this happened. I'm going to explain that to her. Officers directly explain the order to the mother, stating she must leave and cannot be on the property without supervision. She repeatedly refuses. >> We'll try our best to explain that to her. She's going to get trespassed. If she comes back here, she'll get arrested on site. >> And you may want to do the visits at some place other than not here because she's associated. >> They're not supposed to be here.
