Welcome to the Shade Room channel. It's Marcus Hail with you. Today we're talking about Remy Ma's diss track and everything surrounding the Breakfast Club because there's a lot going on here. Hope you're all having a great day. Sending good energy, positivity, and strong vibes to each and every one [music] of you. Thank you for being here. Let's get into the reaction to Remy Ma's diss track. And honestly, this was both [music] low-key and high-key disappointing, especially when you consider that allegedly DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God are said to be close to Remy Ma. So, how did this coverage turn out like this? Why does it feel like certain narratives slipped in for no [music] clear reason? Seriously, no reason at all. But before getting deeper into that, [music] let's look at the numbers because they tell a story. Quick update on Remy Ma. Keep streaming "You Have Been Lying" across all platforms. Run those views up. The On the Radar performance on YouTube is currently sitting at around 7,000 [music] views, and that's just one part of it. On Remy Ma's YouTube, there are two uploads. One on the release tab has about 150,000 views. [music] The other one is already at around 250,000 views. So, clearly people are watching and keeping up with everything. Y'all don't want to move on from Remy Ma. I know y'all want to get into the salaciousness and all of the subliminals or whatever it is. I'm just just Remy can rap, bro. I just like to hear Remy rap. >> flows so well. It's so effortless. The name of the freestyle is W Y F N Hold on, but drop on the Clue's radio for On the Radar. Our guy Gabe. Yes. Gabe on the radar. Yes. Yep. Yep. I give Gabe his credit. Always giving Gabe his credit. Yes. Uh Remy did do an On the Radar as well after dropping the freestyle. Now, getting into the freestyle, okay? The line where Remy is talking [music] about somebody writing things and not being able to help themselves with helping everybody, people are pointing out as a direct shot at uh Papoose. Um there's a line about, you know, being a baddie but not being bad enough and, you know, wanting to copy certain things. People are pointing that that may be a direct shot at Clarissa Shields. And yeah, I mean, now the internet is debating whether or not who who responds, Papoose or Clarissa. Well, the song is called "Why You Effin' Lying". You know what I'm saying? And she's been quiet for a while. She ain't been saying nothing. And so, she just been sitting back letting people speak on her even when they ain't supposed to or whatever, you know what I'm saying? And this is what she dropped straight out the gate. "Why You Effin' Lying". So, I mean Papoose always just he just always wishes her the best. Like that's all he over here Pap say "Lying". Lying. Yes, but she to Jess's point though, Remy has never come out and addressed the fact that there were were claims made that he wrote certain things, which is a I mean, they went back and forth on live, but that's like a big knock to, you know, what Remy has happening. So, this is her clearing that up. And I And I just know Remy is a I I did see I don't even know if we have time to play this, but I saw that uh Pap did um Vlad and Vlad [music] had asked him about the whole Clarissa Remy. I don't know if they'll ever get away from this also, too. Every Everywhere they go. Let's take a listen. Now, over on Instagram, the numbers are even bigger. The snippet Remy posted pulled in about 3 million views. And the On the Radar clip, that one hit 9.5 million views. That's major attention, no question about it. And then things got even more intense. Keyshia Cole, Laura La Rosa, and The Breakfast Club, this is where it really stands out. You had one job, one. And somehow the whole situation came off misunderstood, misrepresented, and just not handled right. People are noticing and they're speaking on it. Shout out to Keyshia Cole, seriously. Shout out to I Should've Cheated, shout out to Love, shout out to Should've Let You Go, shout out to I Changed My Mind. That first album, no skips at all, straight classic. Keyshia Cole really gave timeless energy with that one. And let's be real for a second. If he doesn't want you and you know you should let him go, that Keyshia Cole vibe still hits every single time. That emotion, that honesty, it connects. Now, here's where it gets interesting. Keyshia Cole actually went on her Instagram and showed love to Remy Ma. She's feeling the track. She's feeling the bars. And that right there is what real support looks like. That's genuine. That's organic. That's not forced. Because what we're about to get into next, that's where things start to feel a little fake. And it stands out even more when you compare it to real recognition like this. So, now let's talk about The Breakfast Club because this part right here raised a lot of eyebrows. >> [music] >> Remy Ma, hip-hop royalty, New York royalty, only got about 37 seconds of her diss record played? 37 seconds? That's it? Meanwhile, you've got an extended clip being played from another track that people are already calling questionable. And then it gets even more wild. The camera cuts to them up there dancing along to that auto-tune heavy moment like everything is just fine. No, no, no. That's not how this is supposed to go. This is exactly what Remy Ma is talking about when it comes to fair reporting. You can't even catch the full context of the track because it was cut off so quickly. It felt rushed, incomplete, and honestly a bit off. So, now let's get into the commentary, or better yet, the very brief commentary, before things suddenly switch up again. Why we won't ever get past that cuz of people like Laura La Rosa. We could have We could have just left it at Remy Ma. Why would she be messy and bring that in? You know what I'm saying? Even though Pap has every right to, you know, you know, clean up whatever narratives is out there, but still we didn't have to connect that just now. But Laura did >> Thank you. Yo, real that was Laura. That's why >> She's watching the show and she's just saying one time Good morning, Remy. I [laughter] think she Hey, we all do this because y'all know Remy I I press her again. I think she might need a real presser, bro. >> [laughter] >> Right. You get a little light press. Remy told me she's shade. She's a CEO. She doesn't do that. >> She said you need to shut your ass up. She was looking for you, too. Yeah, she said she was looking for your ass. That was the She did say that. She was going to take your jacket. I didn't think you've done anything wrong up here. >> No, she wanted my jacket. Oh, okay. >> saying she was going to take it, but then she forgot that people, you know, don't know that she's playing. Mhm. >> Remy would've came about that jacket, though. She She can't run faster than me. >> [laughter] >> This right here is exactly what Remy Ma has been talking about. The lack of fair reporting is becoming way too obvious. If this was about someone else, you already know how it would've gone. There would've been a full 10-minute breakdown. Every detail picked apart. Every angle discussed. Especially when it comes to Clarissa Shields' track Faithful. That would've been analyzed from top to bottom, no questions asked. They would've talked about everything. The lyrics, the meaning, the relationships, all of it. But now suddenly, when it comes to someone you've known for years, things get quiet? That doesn't sit right at all. And then here comes Charlamagne tha God acting like he doesn't want to get into the messy details. But let's be honest, that has never stopped him before. He has no issue diving deep when it's about other people. So, what's different now? A lot of people are side-eyeing that. Then you hear talk about Papoose saying he wishes her the best. But wait a minute, that didn't come out of nowhere. That energy only shifted after things already got heated publicly. It feels like there were conversations behind the scenes that made that tone change real fast because before that, the energy was completely different and people didn't miss that. [music] Now, as for DJ Envy, not too much just yet. But trust, that conversation is coming soon. And Laura La Rosa, this part can't be ignored. At the end of the day, you had a responsibility here and the assignment was not handled properly. People expected more and that's just the reality of it. You failed the assignment, straight up. >> [music] >> That whole Black TV and Papoose interview could've easily been its own separate segment. There was no reason to mix that into this moment. But instead, it felt like the diss track conversation got cut short on purpose. Like the focus was shifted just to stir things up. And honestly, this was not the time for that kind of messy setup. [music] Now, I will say this. out of everyone. She seemed to really understand what was going on. She recognized that Remy Ma has been quiet this whole time, just sitting back while everything else has been loud and all over the place. Meanwhile, you've got Papoose and Clarissa Shields moving around pushing this image, trying to promote this perfect relationship, this golden love, this unbreakable bond, all of that. But to a lot of people watching, it just didn't come across as real. It started to look forced, like something being pushed too hard, especially when there's still questions in the air. That's what made the whole situation feel off to many people. And then the way it kept being repeated over and over, my man, my man, my man, it just added to that energy. Papoose everywhere. Papoose this, Papoose that. One minute he's here, the next minute he's there, then suddenly he's nowhere to be found. The whole thing just felt inconsistent and confusing [music] to watch. Now, people are also side-eyeing Papoose saying he's moving like it's all about the money and trying to revive a rap career that's been quiet for a long time. That's what's being said and it's adding even more layers to this whole situation. [music] But let's finish this up properly. I'm not even going to play that segment Laura La Rosa included because it felt completely [music] unnecessary. Instead, let's get back to what actually matters, the [music] commentary. Because like I said, this has to be one of the shortest clips The Breakfast [music] Club has ever done when it comes to Remy Ma. And that alone is raising questions. Because let this have been about something else, like the Rick Ross cease and desist situation. Oh, they would've stretched that out with no problem. They would've broken it down piece by piece. And here's what really stands out. Out of about 4 minutes, [music] nearly half the time gets spent talking about Papoose and DJ Vlad. Meanwhile, Remy Ma's actual record barely gets real attention. How does that even make sense? Then, it gets even more obvious. [music] That same morning, there's a full 4 and 1/2 minute breakdown of Gucci Mane's track calling out Pooh Shiesty and Crash Dummy. More time, more detail, more energy. And let's not forget, they also gave more time and analysis to [music] Claressa Shields' track Faithful and those other songs she played during the interview. Sitting there, vibing, reacting, even dancing along like it's a whole moment. But, when it comes to Remy Ma, someone who is supposed to be a long-time personal connection to The Breakfast Club, someone who has known Charlamagne tha God, DJ [music] Envy, and Angela Yee for years, decades even, and this is the level of coverage she gets? That's why people are calling this out. All she gets is 2 minutes? 2 minutes? And really, only about 37 seconds of actual acknowledgement for her song. That's it? Not on my watch. That's exactly why people are calling this out as fake love, because it doesn't add up. Lauren Larosa didn't have to handle it like that, but instead, it feels like she's still moving in that fast [music] headline chasing mode, especially if Remy Ma allegedly already spoke to you directly about fair reporting. [music] If that conversation really happened, and you still came back with this kind of coverage, >> [music] >> that's what makes people question it even more. And then, to not even fully speak on that conversation, to hold back details, but still move like this? It just doesn't sit [music] right. This should have been a full segment, at least 5 minutes, breaking down the track, actually playing a longer clip, letting DJ Envy and Charlamagne give real commentary. >> [music] >> That's what people expected to see. But instead, it gets cut off almost immediately, and then suddenly, the focus shifts to a DJ Vlad interview [music] clip from 4 days ago. Something that easily could have been its own separate topic. But no, it gets brought [music] into this moment, and the way it plays out makes it seem like the goal was to highlight Papoose and Claressa Shields in a better light, and people [music] are noticing that. No, no, no. That's not how this is supposed to go, because at the end of the day, it starts to feel like the journalistic integrity just isn't there anymore. You see what's going on here? People are moving way too biased now. Everybody's caught up in picking sides, protecting certain people, and avoiding stepping on the wrong toes, and that's exactly where the problem starts. Because at the end of the day, Remy Ma was disrespected, plain and simple. That's what it comes down to. DJ Envy barely got a chance to speak. Everything moved so fast, and before any real discussion could happen, it jumped straight into that DJ Vlad clip, just like that. No real breakdown, no real moment to sit with the track, and that's why it felt off. You had one job: show proper attention and respect to Remy Ma's record. That's it. But instead, the analysis barely even started. Charlamagne tha God was actually trying to give Remy Ma her props. You could see it. But right when that moment was building, it immediately shifted back into messy territory, and then that mess got tied into VladTV, almost like it was meant to redirect the narrative. >> [music] >> And on top of that, key details were left out. No receipts shown. No mention of situations from 2022 that people are now bringing up. While [music] Papoose is talking about false narratives, there's a whole timeline that wasn't addressed. >> [music] >> Meanwhile, shots have been thrown for a while now. That part can't be ignored, because while all of that was happening, Remy Ma stayed quiet. >> [music] >> So, if the story is going to be told, it needs to be told all the way through, beginning, middle, and end, not just the parts that fit a certain angle. You can't just pick and choose which parts of the story to highlight and then call it a full segment. That's not how this works. It starts to feel selective, and people are definitely picking up on that. And honestly, it makes The Breakfast Club harder to take seriously. When there are multiple posts showing love to Claressa Shields, but Remy Ma, someone with years of history and connection, can't even get a proper uninterrupted segment. Instead, it gets mixed in with Papoose's VladTV interview, and the focus shifts completely. That doesn't sit right. It comes off disrespectful, [music] no way around that. After all these years, that kind of treatment feels like a slap in the face to that friendship, like the support isn't really there when it counts the most. And people see the imbalance, >> [music] >> the coverage, the attention, the energy. It's clearly not equal. That's why more and more people are speaking up about it. Then you've got Charlamagne saying things like black men don't cheat, and that just adds another layer to the conversation, because the timing and context have people seriously questioning what's really going on. But that's the situation. Now, I want to hear from you. Drop your thoughts in the comments, and let's talk about it. Make sure you like, comment, and subscribe to the Shidarey channel.
