Get on the ground. >> We obviously take this whole cart then cuz I'm taking things that I >> Why come in here to steal? >> Cuz I don't have the money for it. I don't know. I don't have the money for it. >> Do you have a job? >> At some point in your life, you've probably gotten away with something you shouldn't have. Maybe you tricked a teacher or convinced your sibling you didn't eat the last Twinkie, even though you totally did. But for these Walmart shoplifterss, things didn't go quite as smoothly. They tried to outsmart the cops and failed miserably >> because she's she's discriminating. >> I'm I'm about to sue the out of her cuz I know for a fact I didn't put in my >> first and foremost you don't have to use anything. >> On May 11th, 2025, airport police were called after staff reported a woman stealing Meta Rayban smart glasses worth over $500. Surveillance shows her slipping them into her pocket. I'm trying to pull the video up, but the video is super slow. >> She lives with another like elderly lady. >> She um I told her she had a footstep over and she said, "I just want to look." And I was like, "Ma'am, you're welcome to look." And then the older lady that came in with her wanted to get me on that side of the room. >> So, it's missing. It's like obviously missing. So, >> okay. >> I'm just going to pull it up. I was just waiting on the internet here. There we go. >> We're going to watch it together, >> okay? >> And see where it went. It's either her or her. >> She quickly leaves, but staff spot her near the southwest gate and relay her location to police. >> How long ago was this? >> It was at >> Georgia. Not that long ago. >> Okay. Let me see if I can find her. >> All right. Thank you. >> I'll come back to take more information if I can't find it. Yep. >> Okay, we got her on video stealing sunglasses walked out the door. She's over here to my left at southwest gate between 2 and 4. >> Officers discuss prosecution because the glasses exceed $500. Charges are highly likely even if returned. >> Oh, really? Do you have that on video? >> I can pull it up in a second. >> Okay, get ready to do that. We found them. >> Okay. Yeah, that red and blue is really noticeable. >> Okay. Um, if they return it, >> right there in that >> if they just give it back, do you want to still proceed? >> Prosecute because it's over 500. >> Okay, >> she's moving. >> Police contact the woman and her companion. She denies entering the store, insists she gave the glasses back, and requests to use the restroom, citing menstrual issues. Officers agree under supervision. >> I need to speak with you over here for a minute. You, too, ma'am. >> I need to speak to you over here. >> Okay, you can talk to me right here. >> All right, that's fine. Were you at the Sungas hut earlier? >> I was not. >> Looks just like you. Got you on video. Well, >> you don't have me on video, do you? >> Oh, yeah, we do. Yeah, we do. >> Yes, I do. >> No, you don't. She took some Gucci, too. >> You can come and show me on camera where you can >> Oh, yeah. Let's do that. Let's do that. >> Let's do that. >> And it's a way that like the way the officers is killing people and stuff approach us in a better manner than you. >> Yeah. >> I I don't know what you mean by that. >> I I don't get it either, but uh I want to show you the video because your description fits exactly and we have you grabbing some stuff and put them in your pocket. So, let's show you. >> She glasses that I picked up. She told me to put them back and and I handed them to her. >> That's fair enough. And and then you'll show that dialogue when we do the video. Let's go ahead and proceed, please. >> Okay. First of all, >> here's your stuff. >> Watch because that's the flight that I'm taking. Put my stuff back. >> Okay. So, >> would you like to bring that stuff with you when we go down there? >> Yeah, I can grab my stuff. >> Yeah. See, that's the thing. You can't leave your stuff by itself. >> It was You can't leave by yourself. Even though someone's watching, it's it's got to be yours. You can't just leave us there. Have someone that's watching. >> And then I was on my way to the restroom to change my tampon. Can I change my tampon? >> There's a restaurant. >> I have blood on my pants. So I want to change my tampons and then you guys can gladly wait right after. Yes, there's a restaurant down here. >> No, she go to the bathroom now cuz she when she discards it. So [Music] >> I'm sorry. >> I said I live in Oklahoma City. I'm not going nowhere. You don't have to do I don't have one. >> Well, here's the concern I have. If you have any property that doesn't belong to you at this time, this is a good time to go ahead and discard it. So, let's look at the video first. >> Okay. I'm about to p and change my tampon. Then we can go. You can wait right here until I >> No, you're under an investigation right now. You're being detained. >> No. And I detained. >> She grows upset accusing officers of stereotyping. They clarify she's in investigative detention and warn she may be handcuffed for non-compliance. >> I need to pee in. >> I told her that we have address >> she's been alleged and that we have. >> Okay. So, can you take that out for me? Whatever that was that was taken from the store. Show it to me before you go inside because I don't know what you're going to be doing in there. >> I'm going to go use the rest. >> So, how can I trust you that? >> Yeah. He s up here saying that me and mama stole something. Mama gone. I'm trying to go. We didn't change my tongue. They making it a big deal. >> And they I like >> she's been she's been accused of shoplifting or we have it on video. >> So So she wants to go say she used the bathroom. But the problem is is that we can't control everything that she has. So we're going to bring her into the private bathroom downstairs where she'll be all by herself. We won't even be in there. >> But how can you tell me when I can and can't pee? >> Would you like to come with us? He getting on the same flight as me. >> Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. For your comfort, >> I got to pee and I'm about to go pee and y'all can see him right there. >> You're under investigation detention right now. You can't do anything like that right now. You're going to go to a >> I can't use the bathroom or I'm telling you you can use I'm telling you you can use the bathroom and the secure location on my pants and it's just right downstairs. >> You cannot just sit here and tell me that I got You're under an investigative detention right now. You are not free to go. You may use the bathroom in our private area and this person who seems to you have trust may escort you, but you're going to go into a private escorted area with your own privacy. So, I am allowing you and giving you the immediate opportunity to use the bathroom. Do you understand that? >> Officers show her the video evidence. She insists she returned the glasses or claims it was a vape in her pocket >> going right now. >> So, I'm going to miss my flight. All right. >> So, we're going to ask you a quick question. So saw you on camera grab an item. So where is it? >> I don't have it, sir. I'm going to tell you the truth. >> So So where'd you put it? >> I put it back. She I handed it to her. >> We watch We watched the video. >> You can check me and everything. I don't have no glasses. And I swear to God, I wouldn't I wouldn't even risk it. You don't understand because understanding, you would be hurt. >> I know. I know. But I know, but I hear me out. But you didn't let me finish. So I'm going to give you some information. We watched the video camera. We did see you take the glasses. We did see you putting your persons and we saw you walk out. We didn't see you go back in and give it back to her. So my next question is where is it? Where did you put it? >> I handed them back to her. Not >> according to the video you walk out. >> You can't tell me. Okay. So where's that? >> So So I'm asking you where did you put it? >> I didn't put them nowhere. I gave them back to her. >> Not according to the video footage. >> Well, I gave them back to her. >> Not in the video footage. So I might have a look alike or something, but I don't have no glasses. >> It says you see Georgia bulldogs. You got blue shoes. Exactly. But you can't hold me accountable for something that I don't got. >> So we could because on video and it shows you walking out with and never coming back. You never gave it back to her. >> She said when you touch your glasses, give them back to me for sanitary purposes. I handed her the glasses back for her to >> You know what? This could be easily resolved. We're just going to look at the video and then you can recount your side of the story and then we'll be done. >> But if you said you already seen the camera, then what is you taking me back over there for? I don't have no glasses. I want you to >> The suspect accuses police of discrimination, threatens to sue, and demands to call her lawyer. Officers remain calm, and continue reviewing evidence. >> I thought that I put glasses in my pocket, but I had a vape in my hand. >> Well, this got you on camera right here. >> And I got the vape in my hand. You seen me put >> the whole thing. >> You seen me put something in my pocket, but it was my vape. >> And the lady that was with you, she took them, too. >> Well, I don't know what anybody else has going on. >> She's got it, too. And she conceals it under her shirt. You just put them in your bag. >> I did not put How can I put anything in this bag? >> You want to watch the video? >> Yeah. Let's go ahead and show her cuz she's saying that she couldn't explain it. >> Show me is show me putting it in my bag. >> She says that she gave the glasses. >> And if it don't show me out of her because she's she's discriminating. I'm I'm about to sue the out of her cuz I know for a fact I didn't put in my first and foremost. You don't have to use any foul language. We're all civil. >> Where's my phone? So I can call my lawyer. I'm not sure. I not sure where your phone is. >> Oh god. You on some extra out loud ass [ __ ] on some racism >> and I'll never come back here. >> After refusing to cooperate further, she's arrested for shoplifting and evidence tampering. The stolen glasses are recovered in the restroom where she had discarded them. >> But if you're talking back to that, we're not going to >> I'd like her escorted out though, please. Okay, you got to go. >> Turn around, ma'am. >> Show you guys the video. >> You're under arrest for theft, for shoplifting. Turn around, ma'am. Please. >> So, I'm missing my flight. >> I don't know if I don't know when your flight is, but turn around, please. >> My flight is at 6:40, but you she escort me. >> Okay. I know. We don't want to deal with that. No, you're under arrest now for retail fab shop lifting. It's a misdemeanor. You'll be out. >> Get you moving right along. >> What? >> There you go. >> You found those. >> Tampering with evidence as well. >> Tampering with evidence. Roger. Are those it? >> That's them. Yes, sir. >> Okay. Ma'am, you've been >> officers handle booking and bond. Her companion, an older woman in a red shirt, successfully boards her flight and escapes detention. >> I broke it into two videos just because it paused on me. So, I had to restart it. But that's where she puts it in the back. >> So, am I going to jail or can I get a ticket? >> Pay it like what what can I do? >> It's not not in Chattam County. It's it's not a ticket. So, you're all going to get booked. I hate to say it and I'm gonna be blunt as possible. Sometimes actions got consequences and this happened to be one of them. >> But >> but unfortunately, hey, listen, >> in Oklahoma, if it's under $1,000, they write you a ticket. >> So, this is not Oklahoma. This is Chattam County, Georgia. Georgia is different. >> Can my brother pay some money right now before for me to not get booked in? >> Can he pay? >> Yeah, he can probably take >> Can Can my brother pay right now where I want? >> Not right now. >> What do you want to do with uh grandma? try to locate and uh recover the profit property. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, um would you like to give this to your brother? >> Yeah. >> Like I can't I can't believe that y'all trying to put me in jail. Like why would I not why would I not be I ain't got my phone or nothing. Like I'm miles away from home. Like why? Like I can't get a ticket. >> Yeah. It don't work that way here for that charge. >> Hey, did you get that? Get that. >> Tell the other person just to get away free. Y'all blaming me. >> What other person is that now? >> She said that I was in there with somebody. >> Oh, yeah. We don't have her. But the flight hadn't left yet. >> Probably she, right? >> What's that? Yeah. >> Who she with? Who? She >> related to you in the restaurant. >> I don't know her, but she said that it was two of us in there on the camera at the same time. So why is she blaming me if she shot? >> So So we found you first, but we're going to look for her now. >> I didn't get to hit my bait. >> Well, they won't let you take it to jail. >> Okay. I didn't get to hit it. >> So that's what I said. That's something I'm ninja trying to get hit. I got one. I don't know where the other one is. She's kind of like she went totally gone once we uh started tracking her. But uh she's got a flight to catch, so she's probably up there. >> Did you feel anything? What's that? Yep, we caught him. Uh when she went in the bathroom, she discarded the solen glasses. Poops found it. >> It's those uh glasses um with the recorders from the radio. >> Uh over 300. >> Over 300. >> Yeah. >> And the uh and the other It's a misdemeanor. I know. What do you What What options do we have? >> Set a bond for her. It's like it's pretty low anyways. Yeah, >> she she does want to prosecute. So, we're trying to find her. She's uh she's got a red jacket shirt on. >> Did she steal from? >> Yeah. So, I can't I can't see her on a >> The suspect is charged with felony shoplifting and tampering with evidence. Her companion evades capture, but remains a suspect. Stealing may seem small, but cameras don't lie. Your actions will catch up with you. Excuses and denial only make things worse. Honesty and accountability matter most. But this is still not the worst case. Just wait until you see this next one. >> What's up? >> I said it's going to be a problem. >> Is there going to be a problem? >> Cuz I'm as far as this is going to be a problem. Okay, >> I hope you're ready. >> July 25th, 2025. Police respond to reports of shoplifterss at a Lululemon store. Officers see two individuals leaving with clothes still on hangers tags attached. >> Sirens the first block or two, but we're a block out. But we're going to kill it so that you know scare them off. Hopefully see what's going on. Right now it's just suspicious people on the inside. Right. We'll have to speak with the I haven't heard the body clear. >> Officers coordinate quietly to avoid spooking them. They decide to confirm with staff before intervening. We're going to just try to have a conversation with them. At that point, I'll we'll go inside, see if anything happened, and go from there. >> Hopefully, like start that conversation. >> Well, you have to just play it off as you're uh as you would, as you don't. Um this is kind of a unique situation, right? So, very rarely do they call us preemptively to say, "Hey, I think that there's something going on. They've been here for a while. You know, there's no indicators that they shop to, you know, 26. I know we're waiting for a confirmation or what's going on, but they mention >> Hey guys, can you stop for us for a second? >> No, you just walked out. Turn around for me. >> What did I do? >> What did you do, sir? Obviously, you have the right to remain sign. >> The suspects are stopped and detained. The male suspect resists verbally, denies theft, and accuses officers of harassment. Store employees confirm the items were unpaid for. >> Will be against you, right? None of this is paid for. There you go. Your own body cam is being recorded. >> You accuse me of doing something I didn't do, right? The employee told us you didn't pay for that. Little kisses. That's somebody else. I hurt you. >> Take it easy, tough guy. >> I'm just telling you. >> All right. Just so you know, our body cases are on a recorder. >> I'm just telling you, I just >> You're under arrest. I hurt you. >> You're under arrest. Just so you know, making threats may work. I didn't make a threat. I just said if you hurt me, >> you are under arrest. If you hurt me and you're going to be searched, okay? >> Any action that you do against us is going to be considered you trying to commit something against us. >> I never touched you. I just say if you touch me like any purpley letting you know that's not going to happen. >> He's on the spread your legs. >> You spread his legs. >> Sir, I need you to spread. Thank you. >> During a search, the male grows combative, making verbal threats. Officers remind him that body cams are recording. He repeatedly insists he isn't controlled by police. >> You know what I'm saying? Cuz if they hear me, you got anything that's going to poke and stick or stab me in your pocket? >> Listen to the officer. >> Yeah. Um on the right side, >> what you got there? I got my toe right here on the side. Right side. >> Right side. >> Yeah. >> Nothing else. No, bro. I promise I'm not I'm not that evil, man. >> He's under arrest. So everything. You'll find out. >> Okay. >> You going to have problems, too. >> What's up? >> I said it's going to be a problem. >> It's going to be problems. >> Yeah, cuz I'm I'm as far as this is going to be a problem. Okay. >> I hope you're ready. >> Hope you're ready to handle whatever problems you think you're going to bring. >> Yeah, I know. Swinging what? >> I'm swinging with victory like that. >> I don't know what any of that means. >> Don't worry, man. >> But like I said, right, you're under arrest. Anything you say can be against the law, right? >> Everything that you're saying is being recorded. Everything you're doing is being recorded. That's what it means. >> What does that mean to you? >> I got you. >> Shut the [ __ ] up. >> I know. >> What's your name? >> [ __ ] ass. I want to treat you respect, but you a hoe. >> I know. I don't know why you think you're tough, right? >> Yo, bro. Why you doing Why you doing that for? Are you? >> Because you're the one that I'm not a man. We're trying to tell you you're under arrest. Stop playing with me, bro. Stop playing with me. All right. I'm a man, right? Like you're under me. >> You're under arrest. You don't tell us what's going to happen. No, you're not. You're fitting to put your stuff down and you're going to be escorted out of the store. If you come back on the store for >> police confront a contractor at Lowe's, informing him he's under arrest for grand theft related to multiple theft incidents totaling over $15,000 in merchandise. >> Hello. Hi. What's going on today? So, I am actually calling to report a series of thefts that were discovered based off of uh a credit card investigation. So, let me let me pull it up. I wasn't sure when you would here. So, I have uh eight cases here that should be under one case number and it consists of a guy who goes to selfch checkout and he will fail to scan items um but items like doors and wards and other things along that same line. Would you like me to break down each instance or >> when did they start? So, when did he start doing this? What date was that? >> So, it's it's it's way it's been months. Uh >> loss prevention explains that the suspect repeatedly used selfch checkckout to avoid scanning large items, doors, lumber, etc. with at least eight confirmed cases in the past month. >> Actually been shopping at this store for years. Um, so when I do look back at the transactions, it goes for as long as I can have access to transactions, which means it's been going on a long time, but um I I can't pull video for the rest of my life on this guy. So, um, how would you like to I don't know, gather information? Do you want me to go down the line and show you the particular transaction issues or would you like me to send you a screenshot of the total and the date with >> Am I stressing you out? >> No, it's just anything over 30 days they're not going to look at. Well, >> the credit card is under his name. So, the case itself, >> I just spoke to the detectives before anything over 30 days, they're not they're not looking at. >> So, what was what was the most recent? Let's start there. >> So, the most recent one, which I >> And how was this brought to Lowe's attention? >> So, a cashier actually noticed that this guy had a cart full of lumber and he had only scanned a couple pieces. And you know that >> investigators note the contractor has shopped at the store for years and suspicions grew after a cashier noticed discrepancies between scanned items and what was in his cart >> system to find all the other purchases that had taken place for the last few months. And I only focused on the month within the 30 days to look at all the other transactions in which uh similar occurrences had happened. He comes in here like every other day. Um on the most recent occurrence in which he did do this, I actually saw him in person, but it was only at the tail end. I saw him exit the building >> and I uh wasn't >> so what's the most What's the most recent? >> It is 127 355. >> So he goes through checkout, selfch checkout. He doesn't scan >> most of what he has. >> Okay. Um, I actually did talk to, um, ironically enough, I don't know if you know who, um, well, one of the state prosecutors was in here earlier and I mentioned this case to him and I asked him, "Hey, I plan on filing it this way." >> Loss Prevention traced the thefts through his credit card and rewards account, providing undeniable links to the fraudulent transactions >> because of the 30-day period. And I know that, you know, you have been taking cases because of that type of issue, but because it goes back to his credit card, which is undeniably him, I think there's a lot less plausible deniability on who it is. Uh, he also has a rewards account with us that he likes to use, too. So, that's >> nice. >> I'm a late start, but Kayla, you had yours on, right? Okay, perfect. So, we all uh do we need anything else in here? I mean, he looks very familiar, actually. And I >> He's super friendly to everyone. >> Of course he is. >> Which is how he gets away with it. >> The con. That's exactly what that is. And I guarantee you, do you have counterparts with um um >> Target? >> Target and Home Depot. >> No. >> Officers confirm probable cause and discuss coordination with prosecutors, noting the suspect's pattern likely extends to other stores like Home Depot or Target. Well, I'm not concerned about that. So, I need to see your ID. Mr. Randph, how tall are you? How tall are you? >> 51. And how much you weigh? 204. Okay. Okay. Just going to hold on that one for a second. Just the 51. >> Okay. Uh, want to issue a trespass? I'm going to go down here and talk to David about. >> No, you're not. >> She's in charge. She makes the decision. You're being issued a trespass warning for me right now. >> If you come back on the property for a period of one year, you'll be arrested attorney. >> What is this? I'm in here buying stuff through my pro account and business every day. I have an issue. Just tell me just >> you're just going to be trespassed right now for up to a year. So, we just don't want you to come back onto the property, >> whether that's to purchase anything or not. >> Okay. I'm going to go back and go with my >> Okay. No, you're not. Can you had uh Bravo 11 add resistant to the charge? >> Resisting to you to you. >> At the hospital, the suspect accuses a female officer of making racist remarks. Officers explain any allegations will be reviewed on body cam footage, but arrest will proceed. >> We'll talk about it when he's bringing it up. >> Should be on his way. He just transported other two, so he should be on his way over. All right, just sit tight. We'll be gone soon. other charges. >> They were charged with retail theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and resisting arrest. Final charges include retail theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and resisting arrest. Trying to argue or resist only adds more charges and makes the situation worse. If you're accused, stay calm and let the evidence speak for you in court. transaction. I would put it in the numbers, but I would put the money in. >> Police responded to a theft report at a Burlington coat factory, but the suspect wasn't a customer. It was one of the store's own employees. >> I'm Julian. >> Hi, Julian. I'm officer. >> Nice to meet you. Thanks for >> What's going on? >> Yeah, so we have an employee. Okay. >> Um she was a cashier. So four shifts >> starting um on the 23rd of December. The last one was on the 1st. >> Okay. She was a cashier. Uh, ring up ring up customers. Customers would hand her the cash. She take the cash, put it on the side of the register, finish a transaction. She takes the cash. Yeah. Yep. I'm shocked that she's still here. Yeah. I can I can show you some clips just just so you can see the yellow and everything. Let's go. Let's go have a chat with her. >> So, um, if I read the notes right, it was a total of almost two grand. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She did it. She committed to doing it and really stuff >> during a routine audit. The store manager discovered discrepancies in the daily sales records revealing the theft. The same employee had been warned before when her register came up short, but this time instead of just a warning, she was about to be confronted by a police officer. >> Hi, ma'am. I'm officer Coyos. Do you have your ID or driver's license with you today? If I may. So, what do you do for Burlington? >> I would. My understanding is that you have taken some money while you're working as a cashier in the front. Can you tell me about that? Like what's what's the purpose behind all this? >> Money. >> Okay. Short on bills or >> my mom. >> Your mom. >> She's sick. >> Like she's got like cancer like really badly sick kind of stuff. How long has she been sick? >> For a while. She needs she has health surgery and medications, >> right? Does she not have insurance or anything? >> No. So, before we go into the other stuff, there are programs out there. >> The officer stayed empathetic while questioning the woman, acknowledging her mother's illness, but making it clear that it didn't excuse her actions. It was a difficult situation for everyone. Yet, there were other ways to get the help she needed without resorting to something illegal. A lot of pharmaceutical companies, if you fall short on something, some of them are very well known to assist with payment plans or even potentially doing things for free. Okay? The biggest thing for you and mom is you have to ask the right questions. Okay? With what you've got going on, I I shouldn't be here having this conversation with you. I think we can all empathize with you. That that's that's a very serious thing to have to go through on your own, okay? But there's help out there. You just have to ask for it. >> Okay. How many times did this happen? >> Um, a few. >> What's a few? Cuz a few to me might be three or four. It might be seven, eight to you. Three or four. >> The officer asked the suspect how she had been stealing the money. Since she was already caught, she didn't bother lying. But what's surprising is that she carried out the thefts in plain view, even with multiple security cameras watching. actually I would put it in the numbers but I wouldn't put the money in. >> Okay. Were you still given like the customers or change and whatnot but you just put the money to the side and kept this for yourself and this happened approximately four times >> on the same day or different days? >> Different days. Okay. Were any of those like more than one on one day or just all spread across four different shifts? >> Okay, I got you. How much is mom's medical expenses? It's >> a lot. The surgery alone with the office, >> right? Does anybody else live at home with mom or is it just you and mom? >> It's just her. >> Okay. So, it would be very disheartening and ill advice for me just to not show some sense of >> the suspect is fortunate to have this particular officer questioning her, but hopefully she's being honest. Stealing is one thing, but lying about something as serious as a family medical crisis would be downright cold-hearted >> on what Burley Ting decides to do at this point in time. Is there anybody that wouldn't you would need to contact so mom has someone to help her out? A friend, a family member. Okay, >> just >> Okay. Do you think mom would be okay for a day by herself if that were to be the case? >> Because obviously we don't want to leave mom by herself if she's so badly ill. She's taking medication. She can barely walk. >> Is she bedridden? >> Basically. >> Okay. >> She's helping get up. >> Okay. Gotcha. >> All right. Is Burlington wanting to prosecute? >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. >> Can I see these videos if you have them? >> These days, it's nearly impossible to steal without getting caught. With state-of-the-art security cameras, police can quickly crack down on burglary and theft. though most criminals don't realize it until it's far too late. >> I see here's an instance. >> Has she seen this? >> Uh, no. We haven't shown it to her. >> Okay. Is it against y'all's policy for her to see it? >> Um, no. She can. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. If you want her to Yeah, that's okay. >> This This is you >> in the black sweater with your hair up. So, is this what you were talking about where you take the customer's cash? You stick it next to the register. >> This is December 23rd. Yeah, that was the first >> at 8:05. Did you put the money in your pocket just then? Is that what I was seeing? >> Yeah, the cash will go on the side here. >> Okay, another one at 8:49. Now, how were you folks able to determine the total >> um based on so um watching um the cash be handed and then um the amount that was typed in >> the comparison to the tickets. >> The footage shows the woman taking the money and subtly setting it aside, seemingly placing it next to a coffee cup before continuing with the transaction. If she had just looked up, she would have seen the camera recording her every move. So it was like you know 120 cash all no cash went in all went to the side. Okay. >> Um and then based on two I could show you um like our reporting what that looks like. >> It looks like you had did this twice on the 23rd and then this day on the 30th is a pretty much the same thing. You put the money next to the register and then you pocket it. And I appreciate your cander, Mrs. Con. I really do. >> Yeah, she was really open. So what's this here is at one point you covered up some of the funds with this. Is that like a roll of paper towels or trash bag roll? >> So based off of the facts and circumstances, Burlington does want to pursue with criminal investigation. Okay. So because of the amount and the pattern and the activity, the way that you conducted yourself, it is a felony. So yes, you're going to be placed under arrest at this time. >> The suspect shows little emotion upon hearing she's going to jail. In a compassionate gesture, the officer allows her to text or call her mother to let her know about the situation. >> All right. But at the end of the day, I want to make sure mom's okay as well. So, if there's someone that we need to call for, let's do that. Um, the next thing is I can call the Department of Children and Families and just say, "Hey, look, you know, unfortunately, the daughter was placed under arrest today. Mom's, you know, in her mid to late 50s. She's very sick, >> which is what led to the to the incident. So, we're just a little concerned for mom. Someone can just go and do a well-being check on her, make sure that she's okay, and offer her some services if she needs it. >> So, essentially what it this is is there's a bond schedule that we have to look at. All right. What the bond schedule is is you pay a certain amount of money to a bondsman, some form of collateral, and you can get out within a few hours. If you're unable to bond yourself out of jail or have someone bond you out, you would have to go to first appearance in the morning. Okay? And then the judge will look over all the paperwork, everything that me and you have talked about that I'm going to put in that paperwork and they'll make a determination from there, you know, especially if you don't have any other previous criminal history or anything like that if they'll let you go. >> Before the suspect was escorted out, the manager took a moment to wish her mother well. The employee was arrested and charged with grand theft, but in the end, she received only 9 months of probation. Stealing might seem easy at the moment, but the truth always comes out.
