Welcome back to the channel. I've got a fresh update about Egypt Chris, and the situation is getting loud online. Recently, Egypt stepped into the ring against a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Taekwondo, a serious competitor with elite credentials. The fight didn't end the way many expected. Egypt was knocked out, and that [music] moment instantly sparked heavy reactions across social media. People everywhere started sharing opinions, critiques, and strong takes about what went down in that ring. Then, things got even more dramatic when Egypt's own father spoke out publicly, calling her husband a clout-chasing clown and questioning the people around her. The conversation didn't stop there. Her father also brought up issues with Egypt's team, saying he believes Sam had a role in managing [music] her and being involved in her corner. According to him, Sam ended up getting heavily criticized during the fallout from the fight. >> Yeah, after her loss. >> Woah, Sam in the house. >> Yes, I'm excited to be here. This is amazing. >> First of all, it wasn't to be a night tonight. Is she okay? >> Yes, she is. I You know what? I love that her opponent was who she was. You know, for her first fight to come out and to be fighting against a, you know, two-time gold medalist, kickboxing champion, all above, and here she is. She came out, she showed She showed uh uh heart hearted, and she wanted it, and she had the grit. And I saw even when she got hit, she got mad, and that's what I was like, she crazy. >> Now, Egypt Chris herself has finally broken her silence and addressed everything that's been swirling around her name. She's speaking directly about the situation and the tension surrounding her family and team. Before diving into what she said, let's first take a look at some photos from that intense fight night. Right after the fight, when Egypt got knocked down, people were holding their breath for a second, but she got back up and was able to walk it off, showing she was okay after that tough moment. [music] Not long after, Jay Jones shared a post giving Egypt major respect. She praised Egypt for her bold personality and the big heart she brings into everything [music] she does. It was a show of love and support after a rough night in the ring. Egypt responded right back with the same energy. She thanked Jay and made it clear she truly appreciates the support and has a lot of respect for her as [music] well. >> AJ >> Hello. >> How you feeling? How you feeling? >> Honestly, I'm still very, very proud of myself. I got my feet wet against the two-time Olympian gold medalist Z. And she's an amazing She did her thing. She's going [music] to owe me a drink later, so I love it. >> [laughter] >> I mean, I just going to keep going and growing it. >> Even after a hard loss, that kind of mutual respect stood out and showed there's no bad blood between them. Looking at the scene around the fight, Egypt's was there in person supporting her the whole time. Her father, on the other hand, was not in attendance. It's unclear exactly how much he knew about the situation, although he did speak out later about Sam being involved in managing her and being part of the team he believes let her down. But, Egypt wasn't alone that night. Her mother showed up strong and her brother Tyron was right there, too, standing beside their mom in full support. The family presence was clear and they were there backing Egypt during that big moment in the ring. Yeah, yeah, it's still not clear if Sam was actually inside [music] the building that night or not. There's also some confusion about whether he was the one behind the camera or even present during the fight at all. That [music] part hasn't really been confirmed yet, but don't worry because Egypt herself is about to clear a lot of this up in a video she shared and we're going to get into that in just a moment. [music] >> What it do? What it do? What it do, crew? That's right. That's right. I just wanted to let y'all know thank you to all my true supporters out there that really, you know, checked on me, wanted to make sure I was good. Your girl's always great. This just fueled me 15 times more to come back even harder cuz you already know this ain't it for me. I'm sorry to tell y'all. It really isn't. I got in there, got my feet wet. I went out on my shield and that's all that really matters. Y'all can't say I don't got heart. Y'all can't say nothing and I don't even care if you I don't even care. Cuz I know what I got. I know what I love to do. And also this was the perfect opportunity because I it helped me learn and see all the people that made it [music] seem like they were going to stay supporting and realized that thank you for just showing me your true colors cuz I wouldn't want I wouldn't want to walk out with a victory knowing I got a bunch of fake people behind me. >> Before we jump straight into Egypt speaking, I want to briefly touch on something that Ceaser and K5 mentioned earlier. It connects to the bigger conversation happening online right now. This isn't the full clip we're focusing on, just a small leading because Egypt is about to explain things directly herself. She actually goes into detail and starts filling in the blanks for people who've been pointing fingers and placing blame on her. And in the middle of all the noise, Egypt kept her confidence strong. In one moment, she basically brushed off the criticism saying "I'm still looking good and you think I care? Because I don't. I'm still standing strong in New York." Damn, did you hear that? Egypt made it very clear who she was talking to and it sounded like a direct message to her father and anyone standing on that side with him. She basically said she's going to live her life the way she chooses, no matter what anyone thinks. And one thing she stressed loud and clear is this, people need to stop putting the blame on her husband. According to Egypt, the decisions she made were her own. Nobody was controlling her moves or forcing her into anything. >> Didn't stray away and to the ones that I never even spoke to, high up there that really left motivational messages for me, I really I will ride with you forever. Thank you. But, come on guys, it's a sport. You get in, you try it out, you either find out if it's for you or not, and even with the result, you still know what you want to do. And I know I want to continue. Nothing got me discouraged. It just got me fueled. And I can't wait to show y'all. Look, I'm still talking. I'm still looking good. Still came out alive and >> What really has people shaking their heads is a comment going around saying she needs a professional trainer, claiming [music] boxing should only be taught by a real boxing coach and not someone close to her. But, here's the wild part. If you actually watched the video all the way through, Egypt already explained that her husband was not acting as her trainer in the first place. She addressed that directly. [music] Then, there's the whole brainwash narrative people keep throwing around online. A lot [music] of critics keep repeating it, but at some point, people have to recognize something important. Egypt is a grown woman making her own choices. Whether her father agrees or not, she's clearly moving in the direction she wants for her life. Some people believe Sam may influence her opinions here and there, which can happen in any relationship, but saying he completely controls everything she does, that's a stretch. At the end of the day, Egypt seems determined to follow her own path regardless of all the noise. >> And God willing, didn't get hospitalized. I just had to decompress. No, I made it back, had a long travel. Thank you to the ones that really did keep their support though. I really I really effort y'all. Like, the support and love is always there. And live to fight another day. You know? [music] Not a lot of people, I don't know anybody, but not a lot of people can say they went in there and did what I did. >> [music] >> And I'm proud of myself regardless, no matter if the internet wants to show just the end result [music] of anything. Y'all didn't see Y'all didn't see the beginning, and you didn't see up until the point where I still was on my shield. I still did my thing, and you know, I came a long way. Had 4 weeks of camp, and honestly, a lot of people want to act like [music] they know the details, and they want to blame the wrong people. First of all, I'm a grown woman that makes my own decisions. No one No one directs me. No one brainwashes me. No one does anything that makes me No one makes me do anything I don't want to do. >> Ooh. >> I know what I wanted to do, and I'm still going to do what I want to do. And at the end of the day, don't even blame misfits or nothing like that, because honestly, we all got told the same details. We all had a different insight where we knew >> At the end of the day, one thing has to be said. Some of that responsibility also falls on Egypt herself, because stepping into that ring was her decision. Nobody forced her to do it. She wanted to test herself and see what she could do in that moment. The knockout was tough, no doubt about it, but getting in the ring against a serious athlete like that was something she chose to take on. Honestly, many people expected this moment to push her even harder. Situations like [music] this can sometimes light a fire under someone and make them train stronger, come back sharper, and prove people wrong the next time around. That's why some are wondering what happens next and whether her father [music] might step in with support or resources if she decides to keep going in the sport. >> We're here in the gym. We're still back, baby. Nothing. Damn, Tyba. Oh my lord, Jesus is me on live. You would. You would. >> That's why I brought you to boxing gym. >> [ __ ] But no, for real, don't blame anybody, especially when you don't know the details. Our team got the same information. We've been training the best we could. You You we were told my opponent was on ice for a long time and just came back in the last 2 months and it was still a fair match-up in my eyes because at the end of the day, I knew who I chose. I knew that I chose a good opponent and we had a great time afterwards. We chopped it up. We had great sportsmanship and at the end of the day, I knew what I was walking into. So, regardless, I'm happy that I did. I'm still proud of myself and no one's going to take nothing away from me. Y'all blaming the wrong people. First of all, it's so funny cuz if I had won or if I even blasted and everything and got that victory, people wouldn't even have given the credit to to anybody. They would have looked at my husband too, Sam, and been like, "Oh, they They would have looked at him and say, 'Oh, that's good. You I saw you wasn't doing anything. You [music] were in your place and all that stuff.'" They would have said all the opposite, but he really was not my trainer. He really was not in my corner this camp and that's what we agreed upon coming in. So, I'm sorry. You can't blame something on somebody even though you want to. You could blame it on your girl. Did the best I could and it's not even a blame. A real Not all losses are aren't wins. Like I still got a W throughout this cuz I I got to see my heart. I got to see my determination. >> But the conversation didn't stop there. Claressa Shields also jumped onto social media and shared her thoughts about [music] everything happening around Egypt in the fight. She had a few things to say about the situation. [music] So, let's pull that video up and take a look at what Claressa had to say. >> So, round this time, fighters never recover mentally from being hit like that. Frash, uh, daughter Egypt fight. And I and I I didn't like that. I didn't like that what had happened. But we got to stop thinking that, um, resumes don't matter and that, um, you know, anybody can get inside that ring and fight. It is not a fitness contest. It is a real boxing match and you need to have real experience, real training, real trainers. It's a lot that goes into that, especially fighting on TV. >> [music] >> I mean, she fought against a girl who was a two-time Olympic gold medalist in taekwondo. And she's never had a boxing match, ever? Or competed and jumped inside of the ring? I tell you I tell you what, >> [music] >> Egypt confidence was off was off the roof. Where was all her team confidence was up the roof. >> Now, listen to this. Egypt seems to have bounced back pretty quickly after that knockout, and people are saying she's more motivated than ever. >> [music] >> Situations like that can either break someone's confidence or push them to come back stronger. And right now, it looks like she's using the moment as motivation. [music] Because of that, some feel this could be the perfect chance for her to reach out and connect with [music] Claressa Shields for advice, pointers, or even just a little guidance. >> Her dad was there wrong. She should not have been in there with somebody like that. Could you imagine me fighting a girl who had no boxing experience and she come and fight me? That'd just be crazy, wouldn't it? No boxing experience, she get in the ring and she box me. >> [music] >> She going night-night, too. Yeah, y'all, I'm just chilling. No, that wasn't the best decision for her and that wasn't the best decision her team should have made for her. Um she need better guidance. I believe if she do want to box, and I hope that she can recover from that um from that KO cuz it was not it was not good. Sometimes fighters never recover mentally from being hit like that. >> Think about it. If someone like Claressa is speaking on your situation [music] and offering insight, that could open the door for a conversation. If many people were in Egypt's position and saw that video, they would probably take that opportunity to send a message and ask for some real boxing tips or professional insight. Even a A exchange could help her sharpen her skills moving [music] forward. >> I was the one Everybody that did train me did the best they can to get me ready in the time frame I can. Had a 4-week notice, got that, was in still was doing school at a university, still being a 24/7 parent. You know, we got stuff to do. It wasn't like it was like consistently consistently My camp was, but with everything going on, there were things in between it. So, I know regardless next time I'm just going to keep getting better. I'mma keep picking the fades. Not ducking any fades. Keep going in there, showing my heart, showing my determination. And at the end of it all, she you know, one day when I get up there, I can rematch and ask for a no rehydration clause. >> [laughter] >> No, but honestly, I respect my opponent, my opponent respects me. We both came out there as warriors. We were in a new field of boxing, so I'm proud of it regardless. I'm very happy I'm very happy. It'd be a great camp. It's just going to keep getting me stronger. So, I don't care what anybody got to say about it. I love y'all. Thank you for the support. Your girl still going. >> [laughter] >> Still doing whatever it is I want to do, whether it's boxing, singing, acting, whatever it is, dancing. I'mma do it all cuz it's me. It's a free I got the free will life. >> At the same time, people are still looking at the bigger picture. While some criticism has been aimed at Egypt's circle, others are asking questions about what support [music] was actually offered. For example, if strong opinions are being shared publicly, [music] did anyone step in to provide resources or real connections that could help her improve? >> [music] >> And hearing Claressa speak on it makes some people wonder something else, too. Maybe even if advice or connections had been offered earlier, Egypt might still have chosen to do things her own way. >> Mhm. And I'm not going to waste it. >> Mhm. >> But thank you, though, for everyone that checked up on me, for everyone that really was caring about me throughout it and just want to make sure I was okay. Oh my god, I get thought that I was okay. Your girl is great. It's so weird going changing climates everything. Now I'm back in the dry heat. I got to get the dust off. Ooh. But the decompressed the decompression has been very good. I've been relaxed, well rested. I'm about to wait a week, you know, make sure everything's good which I know it is, but make sure everything's good and get back there get back in there and start training. We're at the gym now. Everyone's training. I'm just waiting to get back in. So, sorry if you don't care. Sorry if you're not here for it. I'm here for it. That's all that matters. It's my life. Can't blame anybody. It is what it is. We all learn our lessons and [music] all I know is your girl's not stopping. >> Still having access to better preparation or professional guidance [music] before the fight could have made a real difference. At the end of the day, it sounds like Egypt only had about four weeks to really [music] prepare for that fight. And anybody who follows boxing knows that's not a lot of time to get fully ready, especially when you're stepping in the ring with someone who already has serious competitive experience. [music] People always say if you stay ready, you don't have to scramble to get ready later. If Egypt had been training consistently long before those four weeks, she probably would have walked into that match feeling a lot more prepared than she did this time. That's basically what she was explaining herself. The preparation window was short and that clearly played a role. But even with that being said, some people believe something else, too. Even if someone had tried to talk her out of taking that fight, it likely wouldn't have changed anything. Egypt has been eager to get in the ring for a long time. Remember, she was already lined up for a fight [music] before. She mentioned that over a year ago she was supposed to have a match, but the opponent ended up canceling. From what was said, the situation fell through more than once, and that [music] opportunity never happened. Because of that, Egypt had been waiting for her moment. She wanted to finally step in the ring, prove herself, [music] and test what she could do. And now that she's had that first experience, many people believe she's only going to push harder from here. So, at this point, everyone is watching to see what her next move will be. At this point, it looks like Egypt is not slowing down anytime soon. From everything she said and the energy she's showing, she seems determined [music] to keep stepping back into that ring and proving something to herself and everybody watching. >> [music] >> So, now the real question becomes simple. What happens in the next fight? People are going to be paying very close attention to how she shows up the next time around. The first fight was a rough experience, no doubt about that. Getting knocked out in your debut is tough, and the internet definitely had a lot to say about it. But, sometimes athletes use moments like that as motivation to improve, train harder, and come back stronger the next time around. The pressure will definitely [music] be higher now because everyone will be watching to see if she levels up. Now, if she steps back in the ring and the same result happens again, >> [music] >> people might start having a very different conversation. Some supporters may begin to question whether boxing is [music] really the lane she should stay in. Still, others will say sometimes it takes a few tries before someone truly finds their rhythm in a sport like this. Either [music] way, the spotlight is definitely on Egypt right now, and the next move she makes could say a lot about where this boxing journey [music] is headed. So, now I want to hear from you. What do you think about Egypt Chris stepping into boxing, the knockout, and the comments she made to her father and the [music] people blaming her husband? If you enjoyed this breakdown, make sure you like the video, subscribe to the channel, share it with someone who's been following the story, [music] and drop your thoughts down in the comments.
