I had a child throwing crayons all over the place, hitting me, throwing crans at me. He was wearing back to punch me. So, I was getting ready to move and like, "Hey, man. Let's go. We're going to go over here." I've been hit crunching. So, we're not in our house waiting for an hour. >> Tension in the air, the behavior of the adults, and the way the children reacted. Taken together, those signs pointed to something deeply wrong. Once police recognized what they were dealing with, they knew this situation couldn't be left alone. >> I Yeah, since it happened. >> This is when when hero cops sense something is deeply wrong in this house. Here is Law Zone where features real police body cam footage documenting how officers handle tents and unpredictable situations as they happen. The first incident is that woman leaves two-year-old child outside while sleeping. >> I just fell asleep. I just slept. No. >> What about my business? When people look me up, they're going to see I'm a child abuser. I was diagnosed with a baby. >> On July 1st, 2024, officers responded to an apartment complex after a report of child neglect. Witnesses had seen a 2-year-old walking alone near the entrance of a parking lot. They stayed with the child in an attempt to locate the parents, but no one could be found. >> There there are two boys. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> No, nobody found you. >> No, I've been with her for over an hour. >> Do you know where you found her at? >> By walking towards the street. I was out running and I noticed her and I was like, "This does not look good." and she um I asked her where her parents were and she said she didn't she clearly >> hello your house >> so she was walking towards like the main road there >> but nobody has come out and looked for her in the last hour. >> Okay, >> I think she's just going >> she's just going around places. Yeah, because when I tried to do the same thing, she had me over there and over here. I don't think she really knows. >> Officers confirmed the exact location where the young dependent was observed and assess nearby traffic flow and residential layout. >> I'm going go see if there's a car seat in that yellow car, but certainly from the looks of her, who knows if she didn't have a car seat. I'll show you exactly where I found her. And my daughter said that she saw her walking around today. What's next? So, you saw her wagon? >> Right by that Mustang. >> Right by the Mustang. >> Yeah. >> Hey, miss. >> Oh, you're Oh, never mind. I No, like I'm looking for >> Okay, so she's right by the Mustang. >> Mustang. >> How's this area down here? >> This is supposed to be like a 55 and up community. >> I'm just here staying in my brother's condo and I'm like, it's, you know, >> yeah, >> looks like it could go 50/50, I guess. Officers determined the young dependent has been without direct supervision for an extended period and advise they will take protective custody. >> So was by the must was she in the grass or in the roadway? >> She was sitting Well, she saw me. She was in the road and then when she saw me, she ran and sat by the tire >> and I kind of went and looked to see where she went cuz I didn't see a parent and I walked. >> And you've had her for about an hour now? >> No, I clear the Yeah. longer than that. It's It's bad. Try and just make contact so we can't find a parent real quick. If not, I need to get a written statement from you just where you found her. Just kind of describing it. >> I'm going to call DCF real quick, too. So, >> the young dependent is placed in protective custody and transported toward a district office to meet child welfare personnel. >> Okay. I'm going to need a statement from you and um we're going to take this child into custody and >> Okay. >> Hopefully, I can identify the parents and go from there. >> Pop sandwich. >> Oh, yeah. Who made the peanut butter sandwich? Did you make it? He's coming. >> That's Is it mine? >> Mine. >> You can put her up front if you wanted. >> That's mine. >> Yeah. >> I don't know if it works with our seat belts. >> I don't think this one's going to fit. >> All right. Hey, we're going for a ride. >> She's in our custody. I'm going to have DCF meet us at the district office. >> I appreciate you guys. If you guys will hang out till the >> behavioral response unit comes, she'll >> officers inform the caregiver of a neglect charge and explain the immediate procedural steps, including booking and review by child welfare services. >> Find it at the jail with their scanners. That's a felony charge. So, now's the time to talk. >> I don't do anything. I don't do anything. >> All right. Have you taken any alcohol or narcotics in the last 24 hours? Cuz I don't want you if you need to go to the hospital. Okay. >> No. >> All right. Are you not pregnant or anything like that? >> I'm not pregnant. No. >> Okay. All right. I'm just asking if you just want to take a seat back there. >> No. No. No. >> You doing all right back there? >> I guess. >> All right. >> A child neglect charge. >> It's a child neglect charge. I want to be frank with you. Okay. Officers outline observed risk factors such as unlocked access points, nearby environmental hazards, and the length of time without supervision. >> Do you have any previous history of this? >> No, I just fell asleep. >> Um, like you're going to work with DCF for a parenting plan. State attorney is going to review everything. The judge has to review everything. So again, you're innocent till proven guilty. And then if I if it is proven guilty that I fell asleep. >> Even if it's proven guilty doesn't mean you're to be denied your child or anything like that. >> What about my business? When people look me up, they're going to see I I'm a I'm a child abuser. That's how I feed my child. The doors were locked. >> Again, you're you're aware that your child's been opening status check. >> Um you live near water hazard. You live on a second story flight hazard >> and home or clubhouse drive is right there. And your kids in diapers, too. Like I I got a four-year-old and I don't know what it is. And >> my son's three about to be three. >> Um there's my four-year-old right there. I don't know what it is. I wake up like he's out of diapers. I mean he's fully functioning. Go to the bathroom on his own. Everything. I still like wake up. >> I would have 4 hours or so. >> Yeah. >> And I just I just check on them because I I don't know. Maybe cuz I do this job, but >> I mean, we're in like a an apartment the size of like most people's room. Like it's like how how much could you really do? I thought, you know, without me lucky that nothing happened to your child. Okay. >> I know. But do I really do I know >> cuz if your child would have fallen in that water >> and having been to drownings and >> his father was killed in a hit and run when he was a year old and that could have happened too. >> So again, I'm not going for the whatifs. I'm just looking. >> Officers explain next steps including first appearance, bond determination, and a parenting plan and confirm the charge classification prior to transport. that 8 and 1/2 hours and what the the hazards, you know, I think there should have been a little bit more diligence there. Okay. >> I just >> you could disagree with me. >> Yeah, I know. I just when you're exhausted, you don't really wake up in the middle of the sleep. And if you don't, it's not really your fault if you don't wake up in the middle of the sleep. The only thing that I I could have really done differently, I can't help how hard I sleep, would have been to put like that door lock and possibly risk losing my apartment uh by putting another door lock up high. I can't help how hard I sleep. >> Well, and if you're taking cratium or supplements like that that uh get that, you know, mimic the effects of like a depressant or I think it is a depressant. Um, you know, those are things that you got to account for. You're going to be impaired by any kind of substance. You know, you got to, if it's going to make you sleep, you need to make sure that somebody's there to take care of your child. >> It doesn't make you sleep. It usually does the opposite for me. That's why I'm taking it so that I have the energy to go to the gym >> reaction to cranium. But I just know that it's often taken with my knowledge of it. It's >> I take it so that I don't have to take prescription medication cuz I was diagnosed with like ADHD and stuff like that. >> I got you. But my genuine hope is that from here forward if you get your kid back. >> I doubt I doubt it. Once they're in the system, I really doubt it. >> No, I >> I I'm going to try. I'm going to >> frustrated with the system before. >> I don't think you're going to you're going to see your kid again. I >> I think I'll see him. I don't think that I'll get him back. And I don't think I'll be able to afford to anyways because I think that this is going to ruin my business and I won't be able to afford to get him back. How long do you think I'll be in jail for? >> Usually they'll set a bond once you have first appearance. Um, >> I'm poor. >> Whatever the bond is, I have to pay 10%. The caregiver was charged with felony neglect of a minor without great bodily harm based on officer's findings that a very young dependent was unsupervised for an extended period near traffic and other hazards. Remember extended lack of supervision combined with environmental risks can lead to immediate protective intervention. Witness reporting and clear timelines are central to how neglect cases are evaluated. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Glad someone stayed with the little one and called for help. This shows how quickly officers have to make decisions based on time and surroundings. Clear explanation of the process from start to finish. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police rescue kid from a preschool teacher who terrorized the entire class. >> I had a child throwing crayons all over the place, hitting me, throwing crans at me. He was wearing that to punch me. So, I was getting ready to move and like, "Hey, man. Let's go. We're going to go over here." I've been hit, punched, things thrown at me. I am so sorry. And I didn't have a chance. On May 3rd, 2025 reviewed surveillance showing a 48-year-old former preschool teacher grabbing, pushing, and pulling a 4-year-old autistic minor. Allegations were reported by parents and a behavioral technician. >> Hi, Miss Alice. >> Hi, Miss Alice. How are you? >> Hold on. Wait a minute. Sorry. >> No, it's no problem. >> Hi. How are you? Good. Um, I'm Detective Good. >> I know you've had a rough day. >> Yes. >> Um, so I'm Detective Christine Rein with the sheriff's office. Don't get alarmed. You know, we come out to a lot of things. Anytime someone makes an allegation, I come out. You know, I make contact with people. Um, basically what I'm asking of you is if you'd be willing to conduct an interview with me. >> Now, I was on the way out, but I can if you want me to do it now or >> if you don't mind. >> No, that's fine. >> Okay. So, I'm going to read you something. It's completely up to you. You know it. When we get to the bottom of this list, we'll go from there. Okay. So, you have the right to remain silent. Do you understand that, Miss Alice? Okay. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law, which you understand, ma'am. Okay. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have your lawyer with you present if you with you while you're being questioned. You understand, ma'am? >> Okay. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before questioning. You understand? Okay. If you decide to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you still have the right to stop answering at any time and speak with the lawyer. Don't you understand, ma'am? You may use any of these rights at any time during this interview. Do you >> teacher recounts the classroom sequence meal time preparation, a minor throwing crayons and striking staff. She knelt to intervene and then an incident occurred that she variously describes as tripping or a fall. >> Understand the rights I've read to you. Okay. So, is it okay if we talk about some Okay. So, the reason why I'm here today is um I was notified by a daycare. Um this incident that happened in a classroom. Um from your words, can you explain to me what happened in that classroom? >> Um we were getting ready for lunch and I had the kids coming. I had a child throwing crayons all over the place, hitting me, throwing crayons at me. Okay. >> I walked over not saying down hands. We're and I was getting ready to say, "Let's, you know, put your hands on the table. We're not gonna punch me in my stomach. >> Okay. >> And I was trying to scream. I was gonna up and like over to another area so we can talk and away from the other. He wasn't throwing upset when I either tripped or what, but it looks fell or I >> okay, right? >> And that's what the camera sees. >> Cried he didn't get hurt. There was nothing that an aid that came. She came back in. >> She out of the room. >> Okay, >> that was it. That's all that happened. I >> teacher states she did not intend to restrain. The minor expresses regret and acknowledges being struck one too many times before reacting. >> There was that was it. >> Okay. >> So, and he they've had hold and not restrain, but I wasn't restraining it. I just put my hands hands >> and I was going to say >> place the crayons. >> Yeah. Place his cray down where you know >> he was wearing that to punch me. >> Okay. >> And I was like we're not going to you know I just >> punch me. So I was getting ready to move and like let's go. We're going to go over here. And that's when it happened. But they have not fully resh but he can get >> fighty and >> and they've held on to him but I try not to that's as much as I do is I'll touch your hands and let's come here but >> I'm not going today with moving from place to another place. >> I was just taking from one chair and I was going to come this way >> and that was it. Just >> Yeah. >> Do you looking back feel as though maybe it was a little too much? I should not have touched. I should have just like turned around and ignored. And it was just one of those >> moments. >> Moments. Yeah. >> Detective describes the surveillance teacher's hands. On the minor, a forceful movement that caused the minor's head to snap back and the minor remaining on the ground. Teacher repeatedly says she does not remember portions of the sequence. >> That I got hit with one too many crayons. >> Okay. >> And I was just going to talk. That's all I was going to do. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> And I regret it. I wasn't crying. >> Yeah. >> Since it happened. >> Okay. Mhm. >> I am so sorry. I did not to go from one spot to another volley like that and I didn't have a chance to recover from it cuz she walked in the room. >> Okay. >> Instantly picked up and out of the room. I didn't have a chance to like see the right order, I think. >> Okay. So, I did watch the video. In a portion of it, you place your left hand tied. What was that for? Good. >> Mhm. Yes, ma'am. >> Wait, at the table or >> after after he's moved from the the seat to maybe 2 3 feet? >> I don't even remember touching. I was trying to up. I have no idea. I don't even remember that part. >> Your hand goes on the top side and you kind of hold there. >> I don't even remember doing that. I have no idea what I why I touch. >> Am I forgetting anything else? >> I have no idea. >> Have you seen the video? No, I didn't even see it. I just they just told me and I walked and I just that I was gone and I just I >> So here here's my concern from a a purely outside perspective, right? >> Is having a fit, right? You come over, you kneel down, put your hands on, you can tell that you're talking, right? You can still kind of having a fit, right? Your hands move by by the arms and you out of that chair with such force. It's almost like Have you ever watched like the the crash dummies? >> I don't remember doing >> Sorry. Yeah. Okay. >> But you know what I'm talking about where like the whiplash >> like you out of that that chair with such force that head snaps back. >> Oh, I don't. And then on the ground he's still having a fit and he does swing at you and then you with your hand on top head like this on the ground. >> Officers secure the teacher for transport, instruct her on procedures, hand placement, surrendering items, and gather identification and possible video evidence from the facility. >> I don't even remember any doing any of that. I swear I don't remember. All I remember is there and I turned cuz she walked in and I don't remember touching him on the head. I I have no clue. I don't even remember just one second. >> My last place I had one kid that was had some some issues but I've been hit punched things thrown at me. I've >> I don't know what happened today. I'm so I'm >> Would you agree though? Right. like it's not an ordinary teaching assignment, right? Like ordinarily I would never look at a teacher and say >> you getting hit as part of a job, >> right? >> But I think can we all agree that when you're dealing with especially like fouryear-old children that have special needs that >> there are going to be times that they act out that way. >> Even though them for a year, I'm still learning and changing changing and getting older. So we're still working. I'm still working >> and the aids I'm not always him but not always always. So >> it's >> well miss. >> So I'm >> Can we agree that a level of force is not the same as an adult, right? >> So >> if you are to from one point to another point >> in the way that we've seen it, it's a little it's excessive a force. Okay. Okay. Miss Al, I'm going have you step turn around for me. Okay, ma'am. >> Can I lock my door? >> My keys are mine. >> Back here. You want to get >> I'm going to go have you go palm to palm. Can you go palm to palm? >> Palm to palm. >> So like both palms. Relax your hands. Not like that. Like that. >> Three. >> Are you able to do that or no? That's >> three. You have a bader on your three, four, and six. Mom's phone number, honey. >> My phone's in my back pocket. >> Take care of all that for you. >> Which is your house, man? >> The um one. >> Is it this one or this one? >> I can't see anything. The whole >> This one? >> No, that one. >> This one. Do >> you want me to call your mom, honey? >> Yeah. I have a phone number. >> Um I don't know. I don't know. It's on my phone. >> I'm going to have you take one step in front of me. Mrs. Alice, where are your house? Yeah, >> we'll be able she'll have a bond in the morning. >> She got everything, right? Just I need to turn my TV off. And >> do you want me to go do that for you? You can watch me through the door so you know. >> Any animals or anybody? >> No. Okay. >> Did I already turn? Oh, yeah. It's right there. >> Okay. The top button. Um, >> anything else we need to do? >> If you can go to the air conditioner and see >> Turn it up. >> Yes, please. 77. Do I need my purse? >> Uh, >> the the less stuff that you take to do. >> Yeah, I think we're better off with that. >> Processing continues on scene. Officers confirm no contraband found during a search, discuss notifications, and complete custody procedures while the teacher expresses remorse and concern about the situation. >> Okay. >> You're not going to have access to any of it anyway. You at least have your phone. >> The vehicle's locked. >> I think it is. Yes. Okay. >> I'll make sure it's locked. >> The white red light should be blinking. I think everything else is fine. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm sorry, Miss Alice. >> I don't even doing anything like that. >> Okay. Thank you. She might not. Yeah, it's terrific. She doesn't. >> Thank you. >> You know, I'll take the trust and close. >> How long have you been living here? >> Five years. >> Five years. Okay. >> So, I mean both have a child. >> Mhm. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Are you from New Jersey? >> No, I'm from Connecticut. Yo, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, >> all over. I can I'll be >> in front of the pass. >> I do not know. >> And I'll have to go to court and >> in the morning. Yes, ma'am. coming. >> Trying my best to not make this suspectable. Hey, the left one is the left cuff is kind of hurting my fibers. >> Okay. >> I can't. >> Your left one. This one. Okay. I want to make sure I'm >> there. I can find my watch. Do I have my watch on? >> You do have your watch. How is that so far? >> No. >> If you keep your palms No, the other way. I mean, >> this way. >> Yeah. It's a little bit easier on the wrist. The teacher was arrested and booked into the county jail. No bond information was provided in the transcript. >> No, they're good. Love that screen out there too. It's great. So, you're going to go ahead and spread your feet for me. >> Nothing hidden inside of you any place inside the bras. No contraband whatsoever. No drug paraphernalia. Okay. Oh, understand I'm not. Okay, Miss Alice, you're all set. I'm going to open this back door. Go ahead, take a seat. >> So, Yep. You just step in. >> Step in. I'm not that tall. >> Go ahead. Step up. >> There you go. Out. >> There you go. Just hit that new touchup. >> And if you lean forward, you won't lean on the cops any better. >> The teacher >> The teacher was charged with child neglect following the investigation. Remember, documented supervision and clear incident reporting help investigators reconstruct events when allegations arise. Staff physical intervention can lead to immediate law enforcement involvement. Deescalation and documented training are important in care settings. This is the reaction of netizens to this situation. Surveillance footage and reports make a big difference. Glad they reviewed the video. It's troubling to hear the teacher say she doesn't remember parts of it. Hope the facility updates training and support for staff working with minors who have behavioral needs. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when DCF steps in after welfare check breaks their hearts. >> I just spoke 60. I don't want my kids to pass by the same me. On March 28th, 2023, officers responded to a welfare check at an apartment and locate four minors inside with no supervising adult present. >> Hi, >> what's going on? Did you get a call? >> Okay, hold on a second. Officers interact calmly with the miners, confirm ages, and check for basic necessities such as diapers and food. >> Figure it out. Hold on. >> My call. We'll be heading over to the shop. You just don't talk about kids. I got >> What's up, buddy? >> I like your shirt. How old are you? >> Yeah, he's 40 years old, Filipino. What's up, man? Officers conduct a walkthrough of the apartment and continue monitoring the miners while waiting for the adult to return. >> How are you? Where you going? >> Hey, where you going, bud? Come here. Come here. >> How are you? >> Is it your doggy? >> No. >> No. Whose dog is it then? What's your name? >> I don't know. >> I've got some diapers in here. >> I got one right here. >> Perfect. >> New or old. I mean, is it >> what someone >> The adult arrives at the apartment and is asked to remain present while officers continue their assessment. >> Yeah, I'll take >> another muscle. Hey, >> no, no, no. Why don't you come in and watch your kids? Okay. It makes sense to me, but she wasn't doing it before. >> It's never too Um, while they're doing background checks on >> officers observe the residence conditions and note the presence of an illegal substance in plain view. >> Does your office have >> are you out of do you have an office where we can breathe so we're not sitting in our house waiting for an hour or longer for Oh, hickory. >> Cocaine up here. So, you go take a look off your jaw there. Personal use. She said she's the only adult here. >> That's her debit card on there. So >> officers assist with safely preparing the miners for transport, including gathering belongings and arranging car seats. >> You take care of you, talk to you, and we'll have DCFS work with you to get your kids and the family members. Okay? For right now, it's not a long-term thing. It's just for right now. You got it. >> Hey, you understand? >> You'll be released on your signature and then >> listen, it's a mistake, but you got to learn to fix it. Okay? So come on, grab >> Don't do this for the kids. Just do it real nice. >> I don't want my kids to pass by the same me right now. >> We're going to work with your family and everything like that. >> Come on. >> We'll meet you right up there. >> Hey Evan, take his iPad. Is that >> here? Let them take the kids out first. >> I'm going to put the Yeah, I'll put this in the bag. I got a bag for them. >> You have Let's Here's the thing. We could easily come back in here. Those kids be upside down in that bucket of water or get into your Coke over there. >> Coke. >> Come on, dude. >> That's whatever. It's still out in the open. So >> whether or who it is, you got little kids walking around, they get into it, they're going to end up dead. >> So like I said, you made some mistakes. >> We're listen made some mistakes. We're going to get them corrected, but you're going to get arrested today and we're going to DCFS is involved. It's too late for >> officers inform the adult of the arrest process, explain cooperation expectations, and outline next steps. >> Anything else? Okay. >> What's your lesson? >> Go. >> Okay. Listen to this. Okay. How old are you? >> I'm like 28. >> 28. Okay. >> It's a mistake, but it's not the end of the world. They'll work with you. We will work with you. You just got to get past and be cooperative for right now. Okay. >> So, >> your kids are going to Jefferson Street, the office, for a little bit. You're going to come with us just downtown and uh we'll talk to you, get your fingerprints and photographs and let you know is for leaving the kids unattended and the dangerous You're not going to not get me arrested, right? >> You are going to be arrested. Yes, you're going to I mean, I'm not I'm I'm not taking out handcuffs or anything like that. As long as you're cooperative, if you >> The adult is placed under arrest without incident, and officers coordinate transport for both the adult and the minors. >> Act like you're not going to be cooperative. I'm going to put your hand. >> No, no, no. But I mean, I'm I'm going to come out. >> Yes. >> Right now, you're going to be released on signature. >> Yes. Absolutely. No. >> See what happen? I know. But you can't you can't be leaving them like this, right? >> I understand. That was my mistake. >> Sure. Hey, listen. Mr. Everyone makes mistakes, right? >> But it's a mistake. We just got to 160. Stand by. 15. Did you have traffic? >> I'm sorry. Your signals are available. >> Okay, good. Let's take one Chicago. Charles, >> I got a whole bad shirt. Uh, that training thing you're doing right now is going to start telling this way. I gave him your phone number. >> Be honest with me. Do you have anything else on you or anything? Do you have anything on you shouldn't have? >> What you mean? Anything drugs or anything like that you should have? No. No. Do you have your car keys with you? Yeah. >> Okay. Come on. Let's see. Listen. I need you to be calm for your kids. No need to I just spoke that sexy thing. >> It's fine. We can say that's the truth right now. We're not dealing with that. We're going to But you still can't leave it out like that. You know what I mean? >> Hey, I need you to be strong for your kids. Okay. Just here. Come over here and have a seat. Are those yours? >> They need your car seat. >> Yep. Okay. I'm going to go out this officer. Remember, your level of cooperation is going to determine how you be treated. We're going to let you use your phone and uh CFS. It's right now you made a mistake. Don't make it into another one. Okay? Be strong for your kids and right now get released and just a signature. All right. All right. Mr. Skip, come on. >> Okay, listen. >> Hey, all of us have kids, you know. Okay, we just you got to be calm here in one second. So, >> you have nothing on you, right? Hand you down and you got to go in handcuffs while you're in the car, but we're not doing in front of your kids. >> Quick ride. Nothing. Just your phone right here. >> Pardon? >> No. All right, guys. Behind your back, please. >> And again, we'll explain everything down there just like uh they have. >> All right, I'm going to walk over uh >> Yep. Those good. I'm going to lock them twice so they don't close on you. Those are okay. >> I'm over here. >> Yeah. You want to do that real quick? We're going to hurt the station. The kids are going to do anything. under um >> her phone was still in her pocket. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'll meet you down there. >> Yeah. Are you transporting or >> No, all right. The adult was charged with four counts related to endangering the life or safety of a minor. The charges were applied after officers confirmed the minors were left alone without supervision and documented environmental risks inside the residence leading to child welfare taking protective custody. Remember, leaving minors unattended can lead to immediate safety interventions and legal consequences. Welfare checks focus first on ensuring safety before addressing responsibility and charges. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. I'm glad officers stayed focused on safety first. This shows how fast child welfare gets involved. A tough situation handled step by step. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life. Pause and comment. This is heartbreaking. You can tell the parents were trying to protect everyone involved. It shows how complicated child welfare cases really are, not just black and white. And then he's like, "Oh, well, I'm just not going to work today. I'm just not going to work today." There's plenty of messages on his phone where he'sing said over and repeatedly, "I'm just not going today." And I'm like, "Okay, well, you know, that's great. You see what I'm saying? Like, I lost my job. Our kids need this." You see what I'm saying? Right. So then he presumed to tell me on the way back to our house that he was going to beat my ass whenever we got there because I'm the reason that he couldn't have the job because I was a piece of all these othering things. And then weing get there and then he starts screaming at me to get out the car, get out the car, get out the car that he was going toing uh beat my ass because it was my fault that he didn't have the job. So I'm like, "No, I'm not going anywhere." And then I get out and then he presumes to like he hit me on the side of my face. HE DIDN'T HIT ME HARD, BUT he did hit me. I got up and our power was go off because we we've been struggling and uh I would take her to mama's and then her my mama had words apparently she come out my mama's house all mad. So I said I'm just not going to go to work. It went from there to arguing more and more and it just escalated and finally I just got tired to do it. cuz I told her I was taking her to her sisters and when I was on the way to go see my mom and tell her that I didn't go to work and what was going on and take her to her sisters when y'all pulled up. >> So what happened at the uh store up there? >> Were y'all ever at the park general? >> No. >> No, sir. >> At the dollar store we pulled up there because her sisters I guess she was going to get out and wait on her sister and I told her no. I didn't want just sitting there with my youngest and then it would have just taken the youngest out there in the parking lot that I asked her to wear sister cuz she's got my phone on the phone with her sister. >> Officers determine there is no clear primary aggressor due to injuries on both parties and prior history. >> You got a driver's license? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> It's in there. I think it's in the car. >> You got a wallet in there? >> Yes, sir. >> I'll get your wallet. >> I don't want my kid as she was. I take her to her, >> right? >> Because I don't want to argue in front of my kids. cuz I just don't want to take it my kids. >> Right. >> You know what I'm saying? Bro, >> right. So, while back we had y'all had a dispute or whatever and she went to the Panama with the kids. >> Yeah. She go right back cuz she I do love her and she know she's got problems, bro. >> I don't want her going to jail. Just like I don't want to go to jail, >> right? >> That's why I said there ain't been no no physical, no nothing. I'm just trying to get I'm trying to have a better life for my kids, right? It was hand, bro. >> Right. So, how'd you get the marks on you? >> I hit my head on the door. You >> hit your head on the door? >> Yeah. And you see what I'm saying? like hopes and hopes and dreams. >> I love you too, Ethan, but I can't be with you, man. >> I don't want you to go to jail and I hope you know what I mean. I just want out and I want our kids gone. For what? >> Domestic battery. >> Domestic battery. >> Mhm. >> Both adults are informed that they will be arrested under mandatory domestic battery procedures. >> I don't understand >> because >> yeah, >> both of you's engaged in it. There's no way for us to determine the primary aggressor. Both of you have marked. So, you both got a job. I'm telling you, he was the primary aggressor and she was doing what she had to do to get him off of her because he was trying to her and her kids. >> Well, you had the opportunity to get out already one time before and come back >> because I thought that he had changed. >> Okay, I understand that. But >> so this is going to violate my bond. >> You're on bond for what? >> For charging for my brother. Like >> that's what I'm saying. Can you bring him back over here to talk to me? Like both of them. Like I don't care. I don't want him going to jail. I don't want to go to jail. You see what I'm saying? Like, it's not nothing to do with anything like that, >> right? >> And I'll even walk over there and talk to Ethan. >> No, we ain't doing that right here for >> So, I asked him if I could please speak to you. >> Okay. >> All right. Y'all should not be in this damn vehicle with these kids. >> And I understand that. And I was trying to get away. >> He's busted up more than you are. >> Officers arrange for the children to be released to a family member and ensure car seat and safety concerns are addressed. >> So, technically, we could just take you to jail, but I see marks on you, too. Calling for help can protect children, but unresolved cycles of conflict increase long-term risks for families. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Those kids were the real priority.
