[Music] Northbound approaching. This wild chase took place in South Africa where police were pursuing a suspected drug dealer in a van. The chase lasted for nearly half an hour and at one point even a helicopter joined in to assist. In a desperate attempt to stop the suspect, officers fired at the van's tires, trying to bring the high-speed pursuit to an end. Heat. Heat. One of the officers aboard the helicopter managed to successfully deflate one of the suspect's tires during the chase. Reports also indicate that the suspect was hit at some point during the pursuit, but still continued driving, refusing to give up. After the long and intense chase, the suspect was finally arrested and taken into custody. What do you think about how this pursuit was handled? Should police in the US consider using similar tactics to stop dangerous suspects? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments. On February 20th, 2021, trooper Zachary Walker was traveling northbound on Harry Truman Parkway when he spotted a white Audi sedan speeding. The vehicle was clocked at 83 mph in a 55 zone. Trooper Walker initiated a traffic stop and at first the Audi pulled over 42 Bravo one. As the trooper approached the passenger side, the driver suddenly fled, jumping onto the Delisps Avenue exit ramp. Trooper Walker quickly returned to his patrol car, advised dispatch, and activated his siren, and the pursuit was on. After being medically cleared, he was transported to jail and booked. On July 31st, 2021, while patrolling south on Jonesboro Road, a trooper spotted a black Chrysler 300 doing donuts in the middle of the intersection at Lakewood Avenue. The trooper activated lights to make a stop, but the driver took off, initiating a pursuit at extremely high speeds, putting the public in serious danger. The trooper notified the GSP radio room, and Trooper Crling took over radio communications as the chase continued. 42 1080 southbound on Frank Henry 367. The FH3677 black. The trooper closed the distance and clocked the Kia at 99 mph as it continued north toward Normandy Boulevard. When the Kia began pulling away near the I 10 interchange and refused to stop, the trooper notified JRCC and officially initiated a pursuit. [Music] [Music] [Music] We just completely behind it. And if you thought his driving was already reckless, just wait, because what he decided to do next took things to a whole new level. Fire side down whiskey again. Okay. The Kia crashed into a tree after a wide turn and multiple suspects fled into the woods. Trooper Vidal found Jason Meyers still in the car, reaching around despite commands to stop. Meyers had a loaded pistol at his feet and resisted arrest when pulled from the vehicle. A search revealed three loaded firearms, including a stolen Glock 22 and an AK style rifle, all in Meyers's area. Meyers, a convicted felon, was arrested, taken to the hospital, an absentee booked into Duval County Jail. No other suspects were found.
