On June 2nd, 2025, a woman walked into a police station to report an incident involving her boyfriend, and the details she shared immediately caught the attention of the officer taking the report. >> Incident that occurred out on Davis Road. Is that correct? Okay. >> This morning, I had a uh >> This morning, do you know about what time? >> About 9:30. I was trying to get ready for work. >> About 9:30, okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. And um You want to tell me what happened? >> Um I've been seeing somebody for the past like 8 months, and then it hasn't been going great. So, I asked him to take a step and leave. >> Um and then what happened? >> He just like lunged towards me and put his hands around my neck. Throat and he was like >> Okay. >> He was like he was choking me and I couldn't breathe. >> Okay, so he he grabbed you by the throat and pushed you towards the bed. >> And I couldn't breathe. >> Okay. What is his name? >> And then he got up and he's like, "I'm so That's when he's so sorry." And "I love you." and all that. And then he like He just like looked really mad. He was like, and then he put his head in my bedroom door. >> And broke it? >> Broke the door? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's his name? >> Soren. >> All right. Do you have any marks on your neck? >> I'm not sure if it's still here. It was two hands. >> Okay. Two hands like he grabbed you. >> He came at me like >> Yeah, and grabbed your throat kind of like this. >> So much. >> And pushed me to the bed and was squeezing and then I couldn't breathe and then I felt like I was going to pass out. And then I fell and then I was trying to like catch air and then I couldn't talk. >> Okay. >> For a while. >> Couldn't breathe. >> Okay. Um this is going to sound you know, a little embarrassing or anything, but did you um did you lose your bowels at all? Did you pee or did you pee yourself? >> Okay. >> Um has this ever happened anything happen like that before? >> No. No. >> No. Okay. >> We have gotten in arguments before and and this is like why I wanted to end things with him because I noticed like him talking to other people and I was like, "You know, you're talking to other people. I don't want to pursue our relationship. I don't feel comfortable with that. So, can you just please leave?" >> Okay. >> And so then it'd have been like a couple of weeks, and he was talking like, "I'm sorry. Um >> [clears throat] >> blah blah blah." All that. And then he's like, "I need to come get the rest of my stuff." And I said, "Yeah, you can get my stuff." And then he said, "Yeah, you can get your stuff." And then he was like, "Can we work this out cuz I really care about you and love you." And I was like, "I'm not willing to work it out with you because I don't want you talking to other people while you're living and coming to my home." >> Okay. All right. Um have you communicated today since the incident via text message or anything like that? Um is there anything on your phone via text message that he'd say like >> He wished me like, "I wish that the bunny rabbit die." He didn't want me to call the police this morning. >> Yeah. >> Of course, because you'll want me to look up his name and see. >> Okay. >> I mean, he >> Is there anything that referenced the incident that you >> know if you want to hear this voice. >> I don't have a lot of time to be sitting here doing this testing. I'm driving, man. The But you got NO TYPE OF RESPECT OR COMMON SENSE, MAN. >> [screaming] >> I'M DRIVING INTO THE POLE. >> SO, THAT'S LIKE how angry he got today when I asked him to leave. And >> Okay. >> He He's like 10:44 this morning. He's like, "I'm sorry. I really am." He's like, "I'm calling my cousin and sister to come up here just in case I get arrested." But I told him I was going to call the police this morning. >> Okay. >> But I didn't want him to smash [ __ ] at work. I was trying to work, and I didn't call. >> Okay. Where do you work? >> I do in-home care. >> Okay. >> And he's on probation, so I really didn't want to >> He's on probation? >> He sure is. >> Do you know what the probation officer? >> The guy, some guy he goes to see downtown once a week. >> Downtown, okay. >> In here in Bangor. >> Okay. >> And he just got out July like 31st, I guess. >> Um give me 1 second. I got to get a specific form, okay? >> And I didn't want to do this to him, but I have to because you don't put your hands on somebody. >> Okay. 1 second. Let me grab a form here and I'll be right back with you, okay? Oh, you're good. 390. >> Something else. >> Tell me what else you need to become. >> No, he is. >> Excuse me 1 second. I want to see. >> I just the neighborhood I live in, I didn't want to call the police to my house because I have to live there and then everybody would come. >> Okay. >> outside and then it just I should have called the police right after he knocked the door. >> Okay. >> But I mean you can't go back in time, right? >> No. >> But so something like, okay, if I call the police are they going to kick me out? >> No. >> Okay, good. >> It's it's just cuz it's like David, that's a is that thing we're holding? >> Yeah. >> Now they got to go through the eviction process like everywhere else, so. >> But I don't want to get kicked out. >> No, that's okay. But like in just [snorts] in the future if anything like that, just you making a report isn't going to get you kicked out, okay? >> Okay. >> All right. Did you guys have anything like alcohol or anything like that? Okay. Any pain that you're feeling or anything like >> It feels like when you touch it, it kind of feels like bruised. >> Okay. All right. >> And he's made threats like I mean but I just ignore him. >> Okay. >> Cuz I have a camera outside my house, so if he does slash all my tires and slash all my stuff up like he said he was going to do, burn my freaking house down, all this stuff he's threatening because I want him not I just want him to stay away from me. Like you go your way, I go my way. Just don't come back to my house. Like >> Okay. And that was the car those threats were there threats made >> A couple of weeks ago. >> A couple of weeks ago, okay. But nothing after the event this morning. >> No, okay. No weapons, right? >> No. So, just to clarify, he grabbed you by the neck and he pushed you towards the bed? >> Yeah, like >> Walked you back with >> correctly. It's only a few steps from the door. So, yeah. And then he pushed me onto the bed and was like on me squeezing my neck really hard. >> Okay. >> Till I felt like, you know, when you your eyes like see like the little stars thing? Like you feel like you're going to pass out? >> Okay. You said bedroom door was damaged, correct? >> Yeah, he just stood up, backed up, and was standing in the doorway like and so angry angry looking. Like I've never seen him that mad. And then he just took his head and like put it in the door and I was like, "You got to go right now." >> Okay. So, like I said, if tomorrow you feel like you see some more visible bruising or something, just come on in, okay? And we'll we'll take some photos as well, okay? Do you feel safe returning back to your home? >> I have a camera outside. >> You have a camera outside. Okay. >> And inside. >> Um so, another option that you always have available to you is to go to the courthouse, too. >> Courthouse, okay. >> Courthouse and get >> Okay. Order so he can't come on my property or >> So, he wouldn't be able to interact with you at all. So, protection order um it's not done through us, it's done through the courthouse, right? You go down to 78 Exchange Street. Um you go and you fill out the paperwork for a protection order from abuse. Um you basically fill out a statement and explain everything and a judge will review it and then the judge will determine if right then and there there needs to be a protection order in place. And if there is, he'll get served. And typically the protection order would consist of what I've seen is, you know, he can't talk to you direct or indirect. So, if you've got a friend, he can't be like, "Hey Bob, go tell, you know, Jamie XYZ." That would be breaking the protection order. He's not allowed on your property, anything of the sort like that. So, it would just Uh and that's an immediately breaking that is an immediately arrestable offense to keep you safe is essentially is so they know that they can't, okay? I always highly recommend that in cases something something like this. Just go down to the courthouse and go ask you like did you file a police report and you just tell them yep, I did. >> This is the first step and then that's the second step, okay. >> Yeah, they like to see a police report to begin with if there is one. It always but um you don't need one but I would say that's my recommendation is go to the courthouse tomorrow morning when they open and get yourself a protection order if that's something that you really >> Yeah, I probably should do that. Yeah, just in case he decides to come back knocking on the door. >> Okay, and if he does return, call us, okay? >> Okay. >> Um just if he's on your property and you don't want him there, you don't have to wait for him to do something. You can just say hey, he's on my property, I want him gone, okay? >> And then they're just kind of asking him to leave. >> Yep. All right. >> Okay. >> All right, do you have any questions for me? >> Um no, so far as far as the closing up and letting me >> Yep, if you're getting friend if you need if he's messaging you threatening to harm you, then call. If he shows up and he's causing an issue outside, call. If he's on your property and you don't want him there, call, okay? There's no harm in calling. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Okay, have a good night. >> After taking the victim's statement, the officer who's investigating the report went to her home address to properly check and take photos of the scene. Later, officers made contact with the boyfriend and asked him to come to the police station so they could hear his side of the story and continue the investigation. >> I mean from tomorrow I have your phone was he able to >> He's in my probation, right? >> Okay, all right. >> So, it's all on you right here. >> You too. You can tell her so she knows for real. >> Hello, this is Ryan 11 West Probation. How's it going? >> It's going, how you doing all right? >> Oh, I'm doing all right. >> Okay, all right. Uh Uh can you say your Is it Serene? Serene? I don't want to Serene. Okay. I don't want to I don't want to mess with the name. All right, so I know something occurred out on Davis Road, 144 Davis Road tonight. Do you want to tell me or this morning? Early this morning. Do you want to tell me your course of events on what happened? Cuz all I have is one other side of the story. >> I'll tell you. >> Yeah. >> I was in the shower this morning. >> Mhm. >> She goes through my phone or some girl texts is my phone. She sees it. She goes crazy. Texts this girl or >> Okay, bro. >> You're kicking me out every [clears throat] other day and then begging me to come back every other day. So like now, I get it. Okay, cool. You know you you're having this issue. Bro, I get that. Not my I'm saying I don't need to go through that. I'm saying so here's the thing. You want me to leave? Okay, I packed. I get out. I'm saying that I have to say, "Yo, I'm going with my kids to go to school or I take my kids to softball games or practices." You get the remainder of your stuff. I did just that. Don't think I got the remainder of my stuff at 4:30 and I got out of class. 5:30, 6:30, she sees me in the car with another woman. Gets out of her car. Comes, starts talking to the woman. I'm inside the store. So I I see her. I pay for my stuff. I get out of the store. I get in my car. I get in the seat. I don't say nothing to her. I don't do anything. Yeah, we have arguments. That's as far as it go. I'm not putting nothing into nothing. Everything I'm telling you is documented. So I've been telling my probation officer and I've been telling my period officer. Everything we talk about I document. Think I got everything right. >> Okay, so you're saying at around 9:00 this morning you just got your stuff and you left. >> I went to school this morning. >> What time did you go to school? >> I finished school at 12:30 but I left when before she left, I left. >> Yeah, like what time? >> 9:30. 10:00. She She goes to work at 10:00. I was gone before that. I was gone. Wait. >> Okay. Did Did anything physical occur? >> No. >> I don't know. >> Not at all. >> Why am I being pulled over there? I don't >> Because she will say that. >> Okay. >> They know that. She will say anything. >> All right. So, did you damage any of her property in the house? >> Don't do that. >> Okay. Was there any damage to the bedroom prior to this event that you can recall? No. >> There's no damage. There's no nothing. There's no nothing other than the talking. Talking may escalate to yelling, but that's as far as it goes. There's no nothing other than that. >> But, no hole in the door of the bedroom door? So, why would there be a hole in the door? >> She probably put it there. Because she did that. >> Okay. So, you said about what, 6:30 this evening she saw you? >> No, 6:30, yeah. 6:30. >> Okay. And do you have any proof that you saw her there? Do you have any Did anybody like see you and see her? >> that I was with. The girl that I was with. Because she got in her car and we can talk to her. >> The girl you were with went and talked to >> No, no, no. I was in the car. I'm in my car with a female. She sees us at the gas station. She gets out of her car and comes to talk to the girl. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm going to get her. >> Yeah, so you're you're What she's saying and what you're saying aren't matching up in >> No, I'm pretty sure they are. >> And anyway >> I'm already getting to it. Just like I told you, I'm already knowing. They're already knowing, too. Both my probation officer and my my counselor that I go to, see, they both know. >> What do you mean they both know? Like can >> Cuz I go there and I tell them these things. They know what's going on. They don't know I'm telling them this. Thing is I'm bare. >> Mhm. >> Don't understand. But like, I need this stability so I can finish my school. so I all right we talk about it she even she expresses her I'm sorry and then her aggressiveness and her life try to work on it I've been done wrong so many times by X Y and Z cool cool but I didn't so why am I going through this and I keep on trying to give you this chance and it's like you bro you kicking me out of here at the end of the day so eventually yes I'm going to start talking to another female and then what you're going to be mad you can't be mad bro that's that isn't it that's it. >> So [snorts] this morning when the incident occurred did you call your probation officer >> No. >> No nothing happened. >> I mean why would I call him over a argument? We have those every time he would have heard about it this Thursday when I go to see him every Thursday I report to him every Thursday I tell him what's going on every Thursday. Throughout the week what happened job life house anything. Full transparent then am I whatever you destroy bro I go talk to whoever it is I just they made me go here I don't know what else to tell you. But I came here to tell you that but I just want to leave now. Cuz my probation will confirm everything bro like everything happened to me everything. >> Okay but not the incident that occurred earlier this morning. >> It was this It was this it was this level of argument that's it. >> Well at this time I have enough to believe that there was an incident that that occurred and a crime was committed. Domestic violence assault so I'm going to have you turn around put your hands behind your back and you're going to be under arrest for domestic violence [clears throat] assault go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> Hey hey Brandon hey hold on >> No go ahead. >> I have to call my people and let them know >> Yeah you can do that after we're going to put your hands behind your back and you're going to be detained. >> Yo What the [ __ ] what is that [ __ ] movie here man? You get to pick it up we got all my people holding the first stop. >> Stop it. >> Oh Hey yo, Brandy. What's going on, bro? >> I understand that you didn't have nothing on you. I let you use the phone. >> I want to handle this, bro. >> I don't know. You have to ask the officer. >> Man, this is insane, bro. >> All right. I know this is too tight. >> No. >> All right. All right. I'm not trying to make it too uncomfortable for you. Do you have anything on your person that's going to poke you or hurt you or anything? >> No. >> Okay. All right. He's going to search you. >> Let me call my kids and my wife. >> All right. Go ahead and call. >> Yeah, I'm sure they're worried about me. >> All right. Everybody move it. >> I got my school, my TV, my music lessons. >> Here. And you'll get your phone call and such. I'm sure. We can only make one phone call right now. I'm going to let this one with that >> I need to see that as a justified problem, bro. You should have told me all that, bro. I would have I would have came anyway. You should have just told me that. You said you were going to lie to me, bro. >> I lied to you. >> Hold on, please, bro. We're not playing no games right now. >> I thought you wanted to call someone. >> She won't let me. >> I'm not going to let you call four people. We got to get you to the jail. The jail will let you make your phone call. >> Bro, the jail will let me make one phone call, miss. I got I got a life going on. I got to handle it. >> I understand that, but >> I'm saying you don't understand that, but you don't though cuz you're not letting me try I came here like you asked me to. I gave you my word. I came here. Now you can't let me make phone calls to put my affairs in order. I could have did that before I got here if I knew you was going to arrest me. You should have said that. >> No, that's not how that works. >> What do you mean you said that's how that works? If that was the case, then you should have dealt with Man. >> All right. >> We're going to go out to the patrol car. >> Okay. >> Hang up. Hang up or pop down. I don't know. >> Hey yo, Brandy. What are we doing, bro? >> Well, I would listen to the officer's instructions. I will be in touch with you, um, from there. >> All right, bro. We're going to let you go, Brandon, okay? >> All right, thank you. >> Thank you. All right. >> Hey, yo, bro. Will I get a bill for this? >> That's up to the bail commissioner. >> Yeah, we don't set bail here. All right. >> Just to say thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Where you going, man? >> I don't know. I'm going to somewhere around nothing. >> That's all I had to say. >> No idea what you're talking about. >> Okay. >> Well, you got me in the car and I'm going to go. >> I said I can try them but Which one's too tight? >> This one This one right here. >> This one? >> This one. Yeah. >> That's the one that I would have guessed. >> This one I can move this one. >> Yeah, all right. >> We can make it a better looser. >> All right. I'll >> Log me out. Send me out to the back. Go to the desk. So I can book him in. >> Yeah, yeah. Oh, I got you. I'll log you out. Oh. Oh. I'll try. Yeah, I'll try. All right. Thank you. Thank you.
