Oh, I love you, bro. Come tonight. Hurry. Tonight. Some people spend years convincing themselves they still have control. Control over their addiction. Control over their temper. Control over how much damage they're really causing. >> I've been talking to the probation officer all day about him doing this to me. >> Okay. >> All day. >> Well, the probation is different than what I can do. >> Well, I understand that, but she told me to call y'all. But eventually, reality starts showing up in broken windows, terrified family members, and children being raised by grandparents. These are the moments when parents send their spoiled kids to jail. In this case, the woman's own parents finally called the police after her addiction spiraled so far out of control that their home and everyone inside it like started feeling unsafe around her. By the time officers arrived, this family wasn't trying to say face anymore. They were just trying to survive another night. laying on the bedroom with her leg at this. She herself on the ground. >> Is she in handcuffs? >> She is. This is the only This going to be the only way to get her. >> Has she been in this before? >> No. We'll see if maybe she changes her mind once she sees. >> Law enforcement blurred parts of the home to protect the family's privacy. What follows is part of the officer's interaction with the woman before she was removed from the house. >> All right, Miss Smith, this is the thing you're about to be put in. Can you look at it? >> It's a bag and it's got a wrap that's going to roll you up like a taco. >> Yeah, right. You're not rolling like a taco. >> Like a burrito. >> Yeah, right. It's against the wall. >> Well, >> Draco, get in here. >> If you let go of the bed and you can walk out peacefully, we don't have to use this. >> Well, go ahead and try and see what happens. The moment someone dares officers to try it, the outcome is usually already decided. >> Thank you guys. >> Your car unlocked. White. >> Can we put her down on the brake for a second? Yeah. >> Okay. She's also not responding to us anymore. >> Britney, you still good? >> It's Draco. >> Unlock. >> Draco, I love you, BRO. COME TO 911. HURRY. Good night. Put her down again. >> Yeah. >> Someone's going to have >> Yep. >> So, we'll sit her in. >> You want me to go to the other side? Oh, wait. >> Do you want me to go to the other side? Once we sit her in, I'll run around the other side and stuff. >> All right. 1 2 3 go. Oh, rescue me for eating muscles. Even in the middle of a collapse, denial still finds a way to sound sarcastic. >> YOUR BABIES HERE came to me the queeny. Yeah. Get the trees and the bees and the bees. Let's attach on the seat belt. >> The trace. >> There we go. All right. >> Shut the door and then she can lean. >> She's good. Whites. She's flopped over. Okay. What you got? I think this is just how it's going to have to be. >> It's not me doing it. >> She can breathe. Put her on the floor. >> She's got plenty of room. >> No, we don't want to put her chest. >> We got one seat belt on. She can't go anywhere. >> Britney's going to be better if you lean against the seat. >> Sit up for us. >> Sit up for us. >> I'm trying. >> Well, loosen up. >> I can't. IT MAKES MY NECK WHATEVER you guys are doing to it. I'll pull. >> Is that my butt? >> Push. >> Nope. >> MY IS IN MY FACE. >> UH, NO. >> All you have to do is lay like right this way. >> Just don't flap over and you'll be fine. Okay. >> You'll be fine either way. >> All right. I got >> We'll close the door and then you can lean back against the door. I'll >> try this a different way. Oh, don't worry about that. It's locked in there. Yeah, >> there we go. Try this up. Up around shoulder. Relax, girl. All right, now back in there. There you go. >> It's about as good as we're going to get. >> Get my car out of THIS TRIFIGHT. >> OKAY. >> NO. >> WATCH your hand. >> All right. Lean against that door. >> Okay. Huh? All right. >> Looking at that help you when you get there. >> And then keep an eye on her. >> All right. Do you have everything we need from him? >> No, I don't have it. >> All right, we'll work on it. >> You just take her. We'll work on the report. >> Did you get a statement from me? >> Yeah. >> I'll just start the report if you get the statement. >> Okay. >> We just need you to finish out the written statement. Hey, >> I'm sorry that she's like this. You >> want me to fill something out? I got to get my glasses. >> Okay. >> You know, it's terrible. It's absolut Sorry, I just woke up. It's absolutely terrible. >> You didn't just wake up. I woke her up. >> We've had to raise all six of her children. >> Right. >> This stops being just her problem. The second six children are being raised by the people she's destroying. >> And there we didn't know what to do, but he said he finally called. I mean, she was she's ripped my whole house apart. >> Yeah. She needs so much help and we've tried to get her help for years. >> Well, sometimes if you don't want really want help, you're not it's not going to work, >> right? And she's on probation with Hamilton County >> for >> um whatever. She went to prison all this again. We've had to call him. You don't know how many times we've had to put restraining orders on, but he thought it was lifted when he went back to court, but it's not, is it? >> I I just got here at the end. >> Right. Sorry. Sorry. Um, we've lived here for 45 years, I think. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And I don't know, she was an honor student in school, but you just got a hold of her as an adult. >> That's the part addiction never warns people about. It doesn't always start with failure. Sometimes it starts with the smartest person in the room. >> Yeah. And I don't know, she was an honor student in school, but you just got a hold of her as an adult. She just tore the place up. She really didn't hit me. >> Okay. >> She wouldn't really come near me. >> You said >> it was like it was like this, you know, and she broke my windows. >> Okay. Just write your name, there, address, and what happened. >> Okay. >> And I may ask some clarifying questions. >> Yeah. I don't I'm not making anything up. She didn't touch me. She wouldn't come near me. Well, you said, >> but because the doors open and the windows are all open and my uh my cover for my bathtub jet bathtub is in the bathtub now. >> Oh my gosh. >> Yeah. She's just I don't There was a toothbrush stuck in the window in the bathroom. You can't open these case but windows without a crank. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I took the cranks out of here. Well, she's pushed them open. So, >> okay. >> We'll see how that goes. I'll fix them later or whatever. But >> they put her in mental hospitals. They do everything. Then they let her out. >> Okay. My name's on the top, right? >> Yep. >> He was trying to wait till Monday to call the pro officer, >> but we couldn't get that. We couldn't get there. Monday's tomorrow. >> Due day. We pulled it off last night. >> Oh, yeah. >> 197. >> I saw that on the news. >> That doesn't mean we're going to the playoffs. So, >> well, Joe thinks we're going. >> Oh, yeah. >> Oh, I think he's hoping. Yeah. >> Okay. So, this all started days ago, so I'm not sure how to >> um Well, when whatever happened today that caused you to call. >> Okay. So, >> bizarre behavior for sure. Extreme bizarre behavior. You know, I don't even let her bring alcohol in my house or anything. She hides it when she does. So, it's not like we allow any of it. We do not. I've never done drugs in my entire life and I surely don't want them around me or I don't drink. I don't even smoke cigarettes, but people that drink are going to hide it from me anyway. She you you know that she was I mean you just can't stop her from doing whatever she does. And she tells me constantly, I'm not doing anything. I'm not and gets real nasty with me and calls me by my first name. Terry, did you hear me? just real disrespectful like that when she's doing something. Normally she's really nice if she's not. But she is our daughter and it was Christmas and we were trying to be nice and then it's so cold. You can't just throw them out in the We're not mean people, you know? You can't just throw someone out in the cold. >> You can hear the guilt in their voices. Parents trying to protect their daughter from the cold while also protecting everyone else from their daughter. And it's really always been up to us on the restraining order if we felt that she was okay. But the minute we see bizarre behavior, it's like this can't happen here. I mean, it's really hard when it's your child, Sam. That's one thing I never thought I'd see in her were jokes. I never She was so smart in school and good kid and but adult life she met wrong people and that's what happened. Got into the wrong group. He said, "I didn't really want to get you out. I'm letting you know what's going on. I've got the best husband in the world." >> You shouldn't have to go through that either. What was your location again? >> Another unit. >> I'm sorry. You guys have to go through all this with the drugs in the world. >> Chaos. Glenwood trail. Well, you think the snow's coming? >> Yeah, I'm sure. >> Yeah, that's what the news is saying. So, >> I believe they won't have school tomorrow. Hey everyone. >> She asked for you, but she didn't know who I was. >> She did. Oh, >> I don't I'm surprised she even knew who I was. Or she just knows my name, I think. I don't think she knows who I am really when she's like that. So, I will take and put my rubber gloves on and strip all the stuff in that room and we'll wash it. >> Well, let's see if I have any questions. You better We better put gloves on for everything she's touched all the curtain. >> Well, I've already fixed the windows. I had to get them closed. >> She had these on. >> It's 19° out. No, the two in the bedroom. The one in the bathroom. >> Trying to read this quiet. >> I don't know how to say she was combative. She was flail flailing her arms. I couldn't get near her. So, I mean, >> I want to get near spit on you or anything. >> I'm trying to get the windows closed. Well, I didn't want to turn my back on her. So, you know, the curtains are all pulled away. They're all tied up in a knot. You know what I mean? She's talking to somebody out the window, but there's nobody there. >> She's gone. Talking to people who aren't there is usually the moment everyone realizes this situation passed manageable a long time ago. >> She told the first policeman that the police were coming. >> All right. I wrote three questions. Did she threaten you? You said on the phone that she was threatening you. If so, if she did, put yes or no and then describe what that means. >> Did she threaten me? I don't know. I I can say yes. I mean >> say yes because of the way she >> explained what that means. >> And then what and what they like to just >> How do they make me feel >> first? Finish this one. >> Talk. >> I think whenever you're around someone like this, you're afraid for your life. >> How how did Well, that's a different question. on this one. When she threatened you, kind of describe what that threat actually she was throwing her phone. She's not herself. She turns into somebody else. I don't know. >> At you. I don't Is that a good enough? >> Was she throwing the phone at you? >> Yeah. then put at me or something equivalent to that. >> All right. >> Yeah, she didn't hit me. So >> So then if she didn't hit you, then put that's down here. Did she try to strike you or attempt to strike you? >> Yes, she did try to attempt to strike me, but she did not. >> You dodged her, didn't you? Just say you dodged her >> because at that point, I think she would have hurt you if she could have. If you would >> if she could have got away with Yes. >> hitting me and getting around me, that would have been fine. and I all I did was stay in here. So, >> the mother already knows the truth. She's not scared of being yelled at anymore. She's scared of what her daughter is capable of becoming. >> Do you want me to do this one still? >> Yeah. >> Cuz she was kind of summarizing your feelings. Your feelings can be different than what she did. How did all this make you feel? >> Very threatening in your own home. >> 106 >> and you were froze. Just kidding. That's a joke, but it's not really because it's true. We were froze. >> Did you show the other officers the broken window? >> Uh, she had pushed the casement windows are crank windows, right? So, you can't open unless you have a crank. Well, I took the cranks out there a long time ago cuz I have little kids. >> But you said >> she pushed them open. >> So, that means that she bent >> broke them. She bent the apparatus >> back there in the back. >> Yeah, that room. And well, the window in the bathroom. She had a toothbrush jammed in it. >> I'd make her pay for them if they >> Well, we could just show after you get done with that, you can show them to me. >> Okay. >> Like it made you feel unsafe or made you feel like you didn't know what was going to go on? Pierce one. Go ahead. >> I'd say extremely unsafe. >> I'm just saying to put me in a defensive position. That's about all I can. >> Yes. >> Oh, you went I already put the windows up here. So, I'll show them to you. You want me to sign this thing >> down here? >> Okay. >> Not listening cuz he was talking to me. Let's see what you put here. I'm sure the officers felt unsafe, too. >> Well, we don't count them for stuff like that. >> I give you credit for the job you have to do. It's a lot out there in the world anymore. >> All right, the last question is, were any of her kids present during this incident? >> No. So, >> well, I don't know what to say. They're sleeping. >> So, they were in the house. Yes. Then put they were asleep in the house. And then >> on the back you can put the names >> right up here is put it. >> Oh, no. Next to the A. Okay. So, yes, they were asleep or whatever you just said. >> Well, I made sure they were secure with my grandson that's 18 in the other room. as long as they're in the house. That's >> And my daughter that's um Courtney, she's living here right now. She is uh almost 40 and she was laying on the couch. So there was an adult down here too. >> So then flip over on the back and take the kids names that were present. Gotcha. And their age >> and Jacob too, Brad. He >> see your tape. That didn't even go in there. >> Yeah. made sure that he was in the room and that he was protect he was in there so that we didn't know what to do with her until Monday morning. >> His name is actually Jason. So you almost had me put Jacob. >> Jason a nickname Jacob. But he's an adult, too. Yeah. Put his age. I am DT. Schmidt. >> What? >> Max. >> Maximus. M A X. >> I got Max. >> Last name. >> S H >> S C H I M DT. >> Yes, I believe so. And he Yes. >> And then David Wayne Schneider seven. Brave Lane Snider six. >> SN I >> Snider SN I D E R. >> He's also seven. We're Smith. Snider Schmidt. And then we've got Ratt Locker. >> Yeah. >> And he is six. >> That everybody. Did you >> I have to sign it for sign it. Put the information. And then we'll go look at the window >> down at the bottom. >> So if she shows up again, I'm not going to let her in my house. I didn't really let her in this time. Yeah, we did not let her in. She finally showed up. >> The protection order does >> families always think there'll be one final warning before things hit bottom. Most of the time they realize too late they already passed it. >> Account if she shows up uninvited, it's a violation of a protection or always. Even if she's here and you you're not supposed to be able to let her be here unless it's specifically allowed in the order that you can let her, which some of them are written that way. >> Some of them wants to say then she has to leave. If you tell her to leave and she doesn't leave, then it becomes a violation. >> I've asked her to leave. She was out of her mind. She >> Did you ask her that in >> Did I write it in there? No, but I will. >> Uh yeah, you can put it on the back. >> I'll just leave it right here. >> Yeah, you can add it there if you want to. >> Uh phone number. >> Uh date of birth. You want my date of birth? >> No, you don't need to. We got it. >> Just the phone number. >> So, one of our phones is off the hook, by the way, cuz I couldn't get the phone to work. I used my cell phone. just use a number that we can reach you if we need to. if somebody needs to ask some >> telling her >> and then you told her to leave and she refused or something like that if that's what happened I think maybe yeah the phone's unplugged on the wall there because our grandson had his game plugged in last All right. So, but it looks like maybe somebody unplugged everything anyway. That's why the fan's not working. >> All right. Let's go look at the wind. That's your P. >> Oh, sure. >> Are you wanting a charger with damage to the windows or not? >> Well, I'm just going to fix them. And I I don't I really don't want to open them again. I can. Let me get my handle. That was unplugged. What happened? He had all his equipment here. I don't know if it's unplugged or start with this. So, first you threw my bathtub cover in the bathtub. I don't I guess I didn't do it. So, So this what these windows are casement windows, >> right? >> So what she had done was pulled this open, pushed it as hard as she could. Okay, I got it to close. >> But all the all the apparatus for closing window is inside this part right here. >> This is all metal inside here. So I got it I got to close. >> What about this? >> No, that was already cracked. >> Well, you don't have to open them if it's going to be hard. >> No. So the other >> it was the mechanism that >> the mechanism she had. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And it's the same way on the other uh >> she ripped this curtain down too. Treore that off the hot tub >> on these uh she had that window open which I closed and tried to lock. I don't know if I can get it locked anymore. >> This is our other daughter's. >> So these windows here as you can see are locked. >> Yeah. >> But she pushed them open >> cuz she was >> so Yeah. So the mechanism inside here was she can see where the wood is broke. >> See the wood? >> Yeah. So that was her. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So >> I think she did. >> What it does is it binds up the mechanism and it wants to pop up. >> So that's what happened. >> And I think she bent the chandelier and hand. >> No, she bent out of that. So >> this is the room she's been staying in. >> No, she doesn't really stay here. Our daughter stays here, but she was visiting trying to visit for Christmas, which was fine to see us for Christmas, but she wouldn't leave our house. >> Okay. >> Yeah. The little kids are only six and seven. I mean, it's >> Yeah. All right. Well, we'll have a report. Uh, she's in jail. >> So, but when I got up and Christmas visits don't usually end with jail, destroyed property, and grandparents explaining chaos to six-year-olds. But addiction has a way of turning every holiday into collateral damage. house was 60° cuz the front doors open and all the windows in the house were open. My brain got twisted when you said something. >> I said, "That's it. I'm I'm done." That So, and this went on yesterday, too. Once again, I I thought this person would >> get >> crash, go to sleep, do something, >> and it didn't work. >> Not for days. >> All right. Well, I'm sorry. And everybody is disgusted with me because I wouldn't do something. What am I going to do? >> I kept going to my husband. >> It's not a win-win. It's >> what am I going to It's a lose-lose situation. It's It's so Yeah. Um but this morning when I got up and this is done, all the ice is gone in the refrigerator. What does that mean? I don't even know what that means. >> Who knows if she was hot? >> Who knows what's going on up there? I can't, you know, >> floor's all wet in the bathroom. I'm going, why is the floor all wet >> now? The whole >> Nobody took a shower. She didn't. >> I put the pillows there cuz Courtney slept here. But all these clean clothes I folded and put on the edge piece she's got over here. Those are all clean blankets I stuck there. >> But otherwise, she tore that. >> You know what she when when she's not doing whatever the hell she's doing, you can talk to this person. >> Sure. >> But whatever she did, >> whatever she's on, she's not there. >> Yeah. >> Well, I'm sorry that we had to come out again. Me, too. I didn't call 911. I called your >> office. >> Office. >> That's fine. >> I apologize, too. I didn't know what to do either. >> 911 to me is an emergency. >> We were just trying to wait. >> This is kind of an emergency, but not really, you know, so yeah, I didn't want to. >> Okay. >> Thanks. >> Sure. >> Thank you. The woman appeared to face charges related to domestic violence, criminal damaging, disorderly conduct, and violating a protection order after allegedly her parents, damaging property, and refusing to leave the home. Moving on to the next case, where years of excuses finally collided with reality. What started as another he's just having a bad day situation had clearly evolved into a household living in fear. And by the time police arrived, this was already far beyond a normal family argument. >> It said that she's locked in her room and her daughter locked in her room. >> What's this one? >> By text messages. >> Yeah. >> And she doesn't feel safe. >> Oh, police. >> No, he's in there. >> Hey, no police. What's going on? He's right there. cuz he's acting. I'm not let him jump on me. He's going to be all right time. >> Okay, relax. I want I want >> Okay. >> He just threatened me. >> Okay, relax. >> Can you stay with him? >> Yeah. >> What's going on here? >> Come on. >> I'm right here. Ma'am, mayor. Ma'am, come here. >> I'm not going by him. >> Okay, that's fine. But I want to see the other officer when I speak to you. Okay. >> I don't want him in his head. I'm tired of it. >> Just tell me what happened right now. He just kept beating on the door, calling me [ __ ] Then he's threatening me to say he's going to beat the out of my ass if I don't give him my daughter's number and she doesn't want him. He's jumped on me already at the hospital. He's 17. He got to go. He kicked a hole in the door. I already tried to take that up. He got to go. >> When did he kick the hole in the door? >> He did that early last week and I told the probation. I didn't want to call the police on him because that's my child. But in the day, I'm not living like this. He's 17. He can go. >> What just happened? So >> today he just did this >> just the text, >> the text and knocking on the door and calling me. I've been talking to the probation officer all day about him doing this to me. >> Okay. >> All day. >> Well, the probation is different than what I can do. >> Well, I understand that. But she told me to call y'all. >> I understand this. >> I be getting in my head. >> You what? >> I be getting in my head. >> You be getting in your head. Okay. Do you have anxiety? Do you have bipolar disorder? Were you diagnosed by a doctor by something? >> Yeah. >> What? like me getting my family like coming at me. I be like >> people and stuff. I be trying to go outside, stay out the way and stuff. People trying. >> Wait. So you have >> I feel like I'm scared. >> So you be paranoid about a lot of stuff. Okay. Do you guys have an argument today? >> We had an argument today. >> Okay. So what what led you to being what happened basically today? Like in 30 minutes ago or 25 minutes ago? What happened? Nothing happened. Like I've been in my head like people like me getting shot like my family coming after me. >> Mhm. >> That's what going on. >> Kicking on my door last night. I'm not living like this. He's 17. He want to do grown stuff. You can go. >> This wasn't one bad night. This family was already living in damage control. >> Yeah. To get him kicked out. You got to get him. >> Whatever I got to do, I'm doing it because he is 17. Can't live here. >> You got to get him evicted. >> Okay. So >> I I know nobody though. I never nobody do though. >> I never call nobody. I always go there ask for stuff. I always come in there ask for stuff. >> Uhhuh. Did you hear her? >> Did you push her? >> I never I never pushed her. >> Okay. >> I never did not. >> Okay. So you guys didn't have no arguments where you sitting here? >> I would sit right there on my phone. >> Okay. Okay. I hear you. >> 17 is an basically an adult in Georgia. >> I know. I've already dealt with y'all with him before. >> Yeah. >> This is not the first time >> tonight. So today he just sent you the >> beating on my door and the text and threatening me. This is a threat. That's a threat. Regardless of how you do it, you did it. >> I was in my head. My thoughts. >> Okay. So you're having bad thoughts. >> Having bad thoughts. I'm paranoid. I'm scared. >> Uh-huh. >> I don't know. >> Did you go through something traumatic? When was that? >> Today. >> Today. What happened today? >> My my thoughts. >> What kind of thoughts do you be having? Me getting My family come at me. I be getting scared, paranoid. >> So when you said his dad's coming. >> Yeah, his dad's around the corner. He had jumped on him, too. >> Okay. His dad is his dad able to take him. >> No, he has. >> Okay. So his dad's not coming here. >> He's coming to see about me and my kids cuz the devils are his kids. But to make sure we're okay, but he can't stay there cuz you done jumped on him. Put a hole in his box. This is ongoing. It's it's I'm done. >> Yeah. The moment a parent says, "I'm done." without hesitation, the situation has already gone too far. >> I'm done. We ain't going to keep playing this little ride roller coaster. >> What is he on probation for? >> Threatening me jumping on me. That's why you ON PROBATION [ __ ] PULLING A KNIFE ON MY DAUGHTER. >> I don't jump. I don't jump on nothing. I don't jump on nothing. >> You don't drink alcohol. How old are you? >> 17. >> You're 17? Okay. Do you go to school? It's getting too dangerous and I'm not going to keep calling y'all and y'all keep telling ME HE GOT TO stay here and I and I'm in danger. Last time he told me that he's I had to keep him here. After y'all left, I got jumped on. Not doing that again. He took me to the memorial. He jumped on me in the hospital in front of everybody cuz y'all said the same thing. He didn't do nothing. I had to keep him here and I got jumped on cuz y'all would take >> When did he turn 17? >> On the 12th >> of this month. >> Yes. He is 17. He can't go. >> I Well, like I said, I can't >> I got property damage all over my house. I got a wall with a hole in it, a door with a hole in it, and another door with a hole in it because of him >> in the past. >> That door hole that just came in my wall on that door and that didn't happen. That happened now. That happened recently. Happened last week. I just didn't call y'all. >> Yeah, in the past. Yeah. In the week. Yeah, in the past. >> Okay. Um, can I see this text? >> Yes. And I've already sent it to the PO and everybody else I need to send it to to cover me cuz I'm not playing. Give me that. >> Why doesn't he have her with the sister? >> He jumped on her. He's violent. He has a temper. You don't want to take his medication, but you want to run through this house all day and call all that. >> Every excuse he gives sounds like someone trying to outrun consequences that already caught him. >> And I never do that. I never do that. I never do that. I never beat nobody though. I don't kill nobody though. I sit on the couch and go outside. >> My thoughts be going wild. I be I be being scared. >> That's how I be. >> I hear you. >> What's uh >> Do you want to run out here and fly roaches off the floor and smoke? Uhuh. Get out of here. >> Go to jail. >> You said what? >> If I got to what? Go to jail. No. >> What? Did you touch your mama today? >> Nope. >> What did you do? You know, I've been in my head all day. >> Okay. Did you yell at her? >> I married at all. >> Did you argue with your mom? >> I'm not arguing. Not my hands have not been >> And you took your medications? >> My medication? >> Okay. So, at the moment, >> the other officer is going to come back and just, you know, we're going to figure out, but I don't think it's going to be jailed, you know. So you you saying today it was just him yelling. It wasn't >> yelling beating on my door, calling me a Then he sent me this. >> You texted your mom today? >> I was my head. My daughter. >> What did you text her >> before it happened? Before I did that, I was in my head. It was my I then before I did that, I was in my head. Yeah, >> I was in my head, stopped working. The second the threats became someone else's problem. >> After that, I went and texted me and that's what happened. I was my thoughts. >> Okay. What did you text her? >> I take a picture. >> I give you who number? >> My daughter, my oldest daughter. And I asked him, I said she doesn't want me to give you the number, but they um he jumped on her before. >> Hey, sir. Hey, what's up? I'm out on this DV for a text message threat. >> A text message threat. >> Yes. So person kid texted mom. I'm going to deliver the living f I'm going to the f or just I'm going to beat the out of you. >> Okay. >> While in the house. Does that count as simple as >> I mean you could write it as simple as whether or not it I mean >> well I'm saying that is that a is that simple cuz that be an arrest. >> Uh all he said was I'll of you >> yes while like knocking on her door her bedroom door. >> Not not outside door like let like >> Yes. It would be it would be simple as I would write it as simple as >> all right >> hello hello my son right here. He's been messing with my wife and threaten her my wife and my daughter's back there and and also he put his hands on me. >> Yeah. >> Even his own father walked in sounding less like a parent and more like a man exhausted by the pattern. >> Son's out of control. He's a grown man now. I can't do nothing with him no more. His mama can't do nothing with him no more. You on your own now. You thought you put the hand on your parents parents. I'm going let you figure this [ __ ] ass now. >> Go talk to the other officer outside right quick. You going to see him sitting down in >> Okay. So now you got to deal with the officers. >> So now you got a job, >> sir. >> Come on. >> Just based off of the fact that he was there and was banging on the door and made the threat that he was out of, I would write this simple. All right, sounds great. >> Hey, man. Um, is it okay if you screenshot that? >> Sure. >> And then I'm going to send you a request and then you're going to upload it to >> Sure. >> Then you have people knocking and kicking at my door. He taped him last night through here. >> They kicking at the door trying to get him. I come out my room. I'm like, "What's going on? What's going on?" My mama, I'm on the phone. Mama, she here too. He got his foot behind though trying to hold it up. I don't know what he doing out here in this world, but you ain't bringing that to my house. >> No, >> you're not bringing that to my house. >> Um, so he was >> This is you. >> No. >> Okay. >> He was banging on the door, blah, and then texting you that. >> Were you scared? >> Yeah, cuz he done jumped on me before. >> Yeah, understandable. >> Okay. Sorry. It's just >> Okay. >> This stupid thing is >> I don't know what's going on. Somebody just got like a week ago and then you got DOING THAT. I'M ON RIGHT NOW HERE. I got other kids here. You know what I'm saying? >> As a black man, I got to talk to my son like this. >> I I I get you here for him. You're not here for me. All right. It's my son. All right. >> I I get you, but at the moment, >> somebody else, man. I'm talking to my son, >> sir. At the moment, we're trying to solve a issue. I know you're talking to your son. I don't want you to raise your voice or talk to him at the moment because we trying to figure out what's going on. Talk to the officer. >> I'm talking to you. When me and my wife and my daughters, I'm talking to him because he here to serve the tech, not direct. >> The house stopped feeling like a home a long time ago. Now it just sounds like containment. >> Hey, get up. Welcome. Let's go sit down in the vehicle. We don't have to be here. >> So, what's going to happen is >> they going to 1013. >> No, we can't. Officers cannot 1013 people. I know these are questions you probably answer as answered before, >> but I have to ask him. >> Does he work? >> Nope. >> Can he get a gun? >> No. >> Does he have a gun? >> Nope. >> Has he tried to himself? >> Nope. >> Has he tried to hurt uh your children? >> He has tried to jump on them. Yes. >> Has he tried to strangle you? >> No. He just punched me in my head. >> Yeah. In the past. Yeah. Okay. Um so what's going to happen is he's going to come with me. >> Um but in the So in the meantime, >> go victim. >> You got to take care of that. And there's got to be uh because what's going to happen is he's an adult in the eyes of Georgia, >> but he still lives here. >> Mhm. I'm going today. >> So, you're going to get a tpo a process as well >> because you guys are DV related obviously. So, he's going to go under It's a misdemeanor crime. >> I'm sick. >> Okay. For simple. >> Can I get the card? >> Yeah, I'm going to get it for you right now. I was just trying to >> explain to me what's going what I need to do. Can >> cuz I we can't evict people. Only the sheriff can do that. What you want to do? >> He's coming with me. >> Digging him. >> Yeah. >> All right, Mr. Moy. Is that correct? >> All right, dude. Before do you want to tell me what happened? >> I tell you what happened. >> Okay. >> So, I I woke up. I woke up. >> It was like my thoughts out of my head about like happened was my mom. I had a dream about some something really bad. But I don't realize I was in my thoughts before I t all that stuff. I was in my head about me getting I was paranoid. I was scared. I started going outside so I could breathe. I started doing a lot of stuff walking around and stuff. >> Mhm. >> I before I got my head I really forgot how well I tasted. I really forgot what I tasted. But I tasted and I got I was I was in my head my thoughts and I tasted all that stuff. >> He still talks like this all happened to him. Not because of him. >> Come on, man. Step out. All right, Mr. Mobile, you turned 17 recently, correct? >> Yes, sir. >> All right, so go ahead and put your uncle transer on your back. >> Mr. Mobile, you rear arrested for simple DVI. Okay, >> okay, take a seat. >> I didn't say you touched her. I said you being for your phone. I know. I I know. I never I never >> I know that too. >> That's battery cell. >> He does not. >> The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with simple assault under domestic violence circumstances after allegedly to beat his mother while banging on her bedroom door. Moving on to the next case where years of builtup resentment inside one family finally spill out in the worst way possible. What started as a simple argument about respect and boundaries quickly turned into a physical confrontation. And from the moment tempers took over, this was never going to end calmly. >> Good evening, ma'am. >> Why did you give us a call? >> Okay. >> Are you able to fill us in at all what happened? >> She could she could tell you later. Me and my just had a little dispute going to >> Sure. Yeah. >> How you doing, sir? >> How you doing? >> Good. Say again. just trying to resolve the situation right now. >> Okay. >> How are you? It's >> good. How are you? >> What's What's going on here? >> Listen, I was uh I was uh I don't cut you off cuz I'm that police off here. I'm just just talking to a friend of mine, sir. Another atmosphere. Okay. >> I appreciate that. >> Listen, um cuz I'm not one of those young kids who disrespect me. That's my my second oldest daughter. Okay. >> I'm the mother of this house. Okay. what it was. I let her come back in to try to help. Okay. Now, a young lady that you mean like let her move in to help her? >> Yeah. Yeah. You know, she came to ask me for help. >> When was that? How long she been here? >> About what? How long? Since May since May. Okay. Me and dad talked. We let her come back. Okay. She had a little issues with Okay. Talk to her. Try to reason with her. It is what it is. That's all I can tell you. Okay. So, I just I'm trying to cut through all that. She She has a young lady that she was staying with the young lady and her parents. So the young lady comes up here. Oh, every time she comes up here, you know, this is my thing, sir. Anybody come up here, you know, deal speak to me and I respect. That's all I ask. I'm not asking you for you. I'm not asking none of that. So I just said today, I said, "Let me just go to this young lady and let her know when she come up here, you know, speak to me and Mr. May, >> this is your daughter's friend you're talking about?" >> Yeah. Just the young lady. So that's all >> to her house. I understand. >> Yeah. You know, all I did, sir, was went up to the car and as I was going to the car, my daughter, you you get huffing and I saw it. I saw the body line, but I went over to the driver. I did just like this. I said on the front side fender of the driver's side. >> I said, "Down your window, baby." I said, "Listen." I said, "Every time you come up here and you you drop my you see me and Mr. Mac, speak to us." Right? >> That's what I said. I said, "Speak to us." I said, "If you can't speak to us cuz you driving up on this property, listen, there's the street. Pick her up from right there." You understand what I'm saying? Just out of respect cuz you know they you're not nice young people. They get >> you know I don't owe nobody but it's just respect sir. It ain't no big issue. It ain't no disrespect. If you respect somebody they can receive you better. So she got huffy or puffy about it. >> Came in here. I don't know what her dad had asked her because that wasn't she was an angry man. >> So >> she got upset about it and >> she got upset about it and you know the body died >> whatever her dad had asked a question on her. I did not know I'm in the garage. So when she came back through the garage, when she came back through the garage, I said, "Maya, come here. Mama, just wait here." You know, I said, "Listen, Maya, come here. Come here. Let me talk to you. Mama, you you just do too much." See, that's not me, sir. >> Right. >> That ain't me. Just come in. Let me talk to you. All I'm ask want to say to you is why you got an attitude because I said something to her. Mama, you It's just how you went up there, sir. This is my normal walk. >> No, I understand. You know, and I did like this at the front end of the car. >> That's completely understandable. I understand. You know what I'm saying? It's your property. >> So, what is that to be upset about and go at anybody about? All I'm asking for is respect. >> So, was she just yelling at you? Did she hit you at all or what happened? >> This stopped being a family disagreement. The second pride mattered more than self-control. >> Yeah, she Okay. They was she got they got in each other's face. The next thing my mom was turned around. I had a feeling she was going that my sister was going to her. So she basically hit my mom from behind and that's when I tried to break it up. >> Where she you at in your head? >> She's right here on the side of my face and and and you know and and and and she took her down cuz I turn around my re you know a child they that's hurtful her I'm not her stepmother. That's not her stepdad. We are her parents. >> And then she then like I was holding her down like she fell like mom fell on top of it. So that's my sister had >> you know and I was trying I grabbed her by her head to tell her stop. My husband, he grabbing me, telling me out there, out there. >> How old is she? >> She 23. But it, you know, the deal is that's so petty. >> Yeah, I understand. >> It's so petty, sir. >> Mhm. >> You know, and and like I told my husband, you know, just let her go. Now she's saying, "Well, I gave you 250. Listen, sir. She is an adult. >> If she's going to stay here, I done raised. We've done raised her. She's going to give me something toward the bills in this house." And that's what was understood. Now she's holling, I want my money back. I ain't gonna see I'm not no street person to go through all that and I apologize to you for being out there like that with her >> because I could have just shut that garage door and let us stay out there and act a plum fool. You understand? But you know the thing is stop all that yelling. That's what we be. It don't take all that. >> We move around here to live and then we give them a place to live. You know how many kids would love to come live like this? >> But to sit up here and think that you going to put your cuz she she has anger issues. Okay. But she asked us for help. But you don't take out on me something that I wasn't even talking to you about. I was Sir, I was talking to her friend cuz I questioned her about this. But you could have came to me. That's my friend, sir. She is a child. >> Mhm. >> I'm 59 and he's 67. I don't need no permission from her for anything cuz she in my I'm not in her house. Like I told my husband, it's just best that she get her stuff and leave. She want me to give her back her 250. This girl sit up here and bust my TV out of anger dealing with her sister, you know. And I we try. I try. I try. She don't She don't have nowhere to go. But she can't do this. The mother already sounds exhausted. Not angry. Exhausted. That's usually worse. >> You understand? >> Yep. >> She can't do this. Now, if I would if I would have went way back how YOU USED TO GROW UP, THEN I'll be going to jail. >> But see that word that she done became out there in them streets around them other people. You you're not going to do that in here. You're not going to do that in here. And she feel I'm wrong. How am I wrong, sir, when I'm asking somebody to respect your parents? Because the way you act, show them that they don't have to respect us. Yeah, you're right. >> You understand? >> Y like, you know, >> cuz I see like a mark there. Is that from her like the line? >> She like it like a like a French like mama turn her back. She my Do you want to look that way just so the light shines on it? Was it like a fist or something or a scratch? No, it was like she Okay, so it's like they was like this close to each other and so someone to back like she literally launched and hit her. >> I know it's tough with kids though. I can't imagine. >> You know, disres I I can't believe it. Disrespect. You know, I wasn't asking for from her. I was asking for from the young lady. >> What kind of does she use? >> Sir, she she be out there with people and I I don't I don't be out tell them she's really >> Okay. You know, I I you know, I can't even I ain't going to even lie on. All I know is I done told her to send in here. He has prostate stage four cancer. You know, you can see how weak he is. He's really upset about that. >> Let me go out and try to talk to her, man. Right. >> Her and mom got into an argument over some money. Um she said nothing physical happened, but some clothes were thrown. Um and she's said she has plans to leave the house tonight and I go to a friend's house. >> Mom was like, she punched me from behind uh other sisters. I think she threw a jab at her face and she got like a long mark on her face >> like battery. >> Can I just kind of hear like your side of the story? What happened? >> Sure. You can hear my side. >> Can I hear her side what she said if I say I did she not? Okay. So, what is what happened? I came home. My phone dropped me off was that went so far when she dropped me off. I guess we had she had an issue about me walking in the house and not speaking there. So by the time I got back outside your mom. >> Yeah. >> So got outside, you know, we just talking. Then it went from being money. That's when it all escalated. Just she want to throw her the clothes at me. Then I threw my clothes back at her led outside. It was just over some money. That's all it was. >> The daughter keeps shrinking the situation down to just money while everyone around her is talking about violence. >> It was just then escalated for some money. >> Did y'all like each other at all? We throwing my clothes at each other. We each other. Okay. Were you like trying you? What about the clothes? Was she like trying to get you to move out or something or >> I stay here? I just paid her rent. I just stay here and pay pay my rent. >> How long you been living here for? >> About four month five months now. >> If I'm allowed to go, that's possible. >> Show me. >> I will. I'm I put my clothes right there that she threw out that we have an argument back and forth about cuz it let us like to that money. But my stuff right there, I can just leave. Like that's a possibility. We'll figure something out. >> I got to cut this chair right here. Bro, you talking about Listen, I'm too my phone up. So, you can put your light back on me if you want to. >> What's that from? >> My um I had to throw my clothes in the belt had caught up in my jacket. >> Uhhuh. >> Like I was telling her, you ain't got to talk to me, Grace. Just let me know what's straight up. I may be young, but you could just talk to me like we humans. Like, what's going on? Because right now, it was just over some money. Just went from throwing clothes to getting each other face. And I stepped away from her cuz like I'm not about to do this. I'm not about to get this. How old are you? I am 23. >> Is there anything you think is important for me to know? >> Something you know that I don't know? >> No, I'm just saying. Is there anything that you want to tell me that you feel like would help our investigation? >> I really was talking to your partner like No, I really don't want to add nothing to this investigation. She took my name down in my >> Okay. She got information. Yeah. Like I told I see it's crazy every day. People People trying to live with each other and work to just to get out their parents house. Everybody go through that. Like it's happening right now. This is like that's what most of y'all calls on right now. The irony is brutal. She describes family conflict like it's normal background noise while standing in the middle of getting arrested for it. >> So I see the knot on the front of your head. Did she hit you in the front too? >> She hit you. >> Yeah. >> If I'm such a bad mother, why you keep coming back? Because she want she wants to use me. >> And then when I get her from the ground up, help her get the job. get it. You know, then you want to you want to you want to >> you want to be violent toward me and like I told my husband, this is it. And you know what? When you get tired of being tired, that's it. >> So, ma'am, earlier I asked you if anything physical happened. You say nothing physical happened? >> No. >> Your mom has a lot of marks on her. >> How did that happen? >> Cuz she was throwing my clothes at me and I threw my basket back at her. So, in the midst of that, all my clothes was her and probably scratching her up. That's probably what it was. >> Well, just based on the evidence right now, we're going to go ahead and place you under arrest for domestic battery. All right. >> This is where the story finally collides with reality. Excuses stop working once the evidence starts talking. >> Here, I'm going to put your phone on the car right now. You can take it with you. >> Oh, I just got I'm sorry, man. I got you like a bunch of stuff. >> Can y'all flee out a whole lot? I'm my finger right now. But you know, I ain't I ain't like I was not trying to talk to lie to the police, but she done lied to the police. Like, >> she got in and >> she hit me, too. I ain't say nothing, but now I'm about to go to jail. Like, she she hit me, too. So, I don't know. >> The switch from denial to she hit me too happened the instant the handcuffs came out. >> Why you going just lock me up? Real. She bit my finger. I wasn't trying to lie, but now know what? Since we get we being real, I'm not going to do nothing. Since we be real, can she go to jail, too? No. Can I conclude? Y in the car just yet. Y'all didn't put me in the car just yet, so I can really still tell my side of the story, man. >> The 23-year-old daughter was charged with battery under the Domestic Violence Act after allegedlying her mother during the altercation. Moving on to the next case, where years of family resentment finally boiled over into something police couldn't ignore. What started as an argument over rules and respect quickly turned into a house full of people trying to outshout, outlame, and overpower each other. And this was never going to end calmly. Well, my 20-year-old daughter got out of the van and got right into my face and was about to hit me cuz she didn't like something that I said. >> Who's the older one? >> Okay. What happened? >> I don't know. >> I'm going to go crazy. >> My mom was trying to hit me. Um, she hurt me. They like um me um tried to be kicking me. I I don't want to press charges, but they need to understand this one just like left the house today and she knew she didn't have permission to go anywhere. She had her friend's mother come pick her up. >> Was that her mom? >> And I had to go. >> Oh, even better. I'm going to hear your side story. Trust me, I will. Okay. Do you mind just hanging out right there for me? Okay. Thank you. What happened is that um she's been out of control. I've been trying trying everything that I can and um you know I I see a therapist for my relationship just with her because a lot of things happened um after I divorced their abusive father and they they've learned a lot of his tactics. I've been up against a brick wall with them. I try all they it they they they g I have three of them. They all gang up on me. Um in fact, my ex-husband ended up moving to Tampa because the three girls ganged up on him. >> What was this all stemming from? >> Uh so we we got in an argument last night, verbal, not physical, but um we got in an argument last night and basically today's my best friend's birthday and I said that I wanted to go see her for her birthday, >> but so I texted her earlier when I was at school and I asked her if I could go over there and she said no. And I said, "Okay, well, I mean, maybe not the best choice, but I said, "Okay, my friend lives 5 minutes away. As long as I tell him where I'm going, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I only be over there for like an hour or two." So, I went anyway. Her grandpa came and picked me up. I was not even over there for like maybe not even 5 minutes before she she was calling her mother and then um trying to call the police and say I was a runaway. I told them both where I was going. Um, and then she came and got me instead of calling the police and we got home. >> What happened today? Right now, >> I went in I went and picked up my daughter um cuz she didn't have permission to be there. Um, and then Emily, the 20-year-old, and well, the three of us were arguing in the car because Emily thought that it was wrong of me to say that should walk home. >> What started as punishment turned into a power struggle. nobody was willing to back down from. >> And I feel as as far as I'm concerned, she she left without permission. She's considered a runaway and she can walk home. It's not dark and it's not that far away and she doesn't have to cross street. >> Backtrack a little bit. So, you want to see your friend's house. Where the calling the police come into play? >> Just just she just threatened it on the phone. um >> to hit you or >> no to just to call the police and say that I was a runaway for >> because you went because you went to your friend's house. >> Yeah, cuz I went to my my friend's house for her birthday. >> Okay. >> With without technical permission. We got home and I went inside but I was looking through the window and my mom started to just hit her. My sister my sister like backed up and she kind of tripped but my mom was like pushing her, shoving her. She was pulling her like >> shoving her. >> Uhhuh. Yeah. She shoved her back. is the reason for that >> just cuz she's angry. >> She was angry with her and I was defending her because I said I don't think she should have to walk home alone and >> Oh yeah, she wanted me to walk home alone all the way from my friend's neighborhood which is Saddle Brook. But I mean that would be multiple miles walking distance, >> right? >> She wanted me to walk alone um back home because she didn't want to come get me, but she got anyway. >> Emily was getting on my case and defending her sister, which is something she always does. then um calls me um all kinds of names. Um one time she called me um the cword. >> The second old grievances enter the argument. This stops being about a birthday party. >> This was almost a year ago and I slapped her. So now all she talks about is how I hit her and I her and I beat her up, which is not true. Um she beat me up. I've got pictures. >> Yeah. Then I went inside and I you know we were yelling at each other and then I was I would say this close to her and she she she like approached me and she went like this and so I ducked so she didn't hit me and while I ducked I accidentally kind of kicked her and then and then well somewhere during that this happened. Um that's >> is that from her scratching you? >> That's from her scratching. So, there was all this stuff going on and then started getting out of the van and she said, "Um, all I I have a boyfriend and all I care about is getting some 59year-old and I said, "You know what? Adult relationships are a lot different than teenage relationships with you and your friends." And um so she has a friend that has had has been very um promiscuous. And so I made a comment. Well, Emily didn't like that. So she got out of the van and she she stood right in front of me and was trying to she was trying to swing at me. >> Everyone in this house was talking like the victim and swinging like the aggressor. >> At this point, I don't remember exactly what happened because of all the adrenaline. I know that I grabbed her arms from her hitting me. She tried to kick me. She tried to hit me again. Um, I was trying to defend myself. >> Do you have any injuries to you? >> Um, no. I mean, like a little scratch. I was wearing the jacket at the time, so like not not kind of just >> pushed you around or >> Yeah. And this this stuff like this has happened with her before. >> We've always had problems for like a year or two now. >> Okay. >> Um, just getting along. and she uh we were we were having an argument in the car when she was driving me back from school, dropping me off from my dad's house at the time. And then uh we had words and we were cussing at each other and everything and she stopped the car. She slapped me in the face and then she uh told me to walk home. Um and at that point I didn't I didn't know my way home. I wasn't really familiar with >> this was a year ago home from GPE. >> Yeah. >> Okay. from DP. Yeah, it was >> um >> I was familiar with the area. >> Then I get into the house. I don't even remember what was said, >> but that she's like, I got it all on tape and you you hit her first, which I don't believe I did. And then she started trying to hit me and kick me. Same thing. >> So today, So how'd you get home? She picked She ended up picking >> Yeah, she picked me up and we drove home. >> And that's when was there an argument in the car prior to >> Yeah. I mean, she was screaming the whole way home. Okay. And you get home and that's when she starts roughing you up. >> Yeah. >> Because you were defending her. >> Uhhuh. >> Staying that she shouldn't be walking home by herself. >> Yeah. >> And then she swung at you. >> You ducked. >> Um and somehow you got scratched probably by her. >> Yes. 100% by him. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Something needs to change. I I just I can't do this anymore. I want to just I want them to either I don't know. like I I feel like I'm going to go crazy if >> this is where exhaustion replaces parenting and the entire situation starts running on pure resentment. >> If I have to go through this anymore, I want to just go to the hospital and go to like this like or something because I just need some rest. It's just it's been awful. It's just been awful for the last like four years. >> So, this is kind of a normal occurrence. I mean, like not like every day, but it's happened before with me. She gets physical with me a lot. >> Okay. >> So, my grandma, she she's been an alcoholic for like 20 years. I've never known her. >> Is she drunk now? >> I don't think so. I don't think she's drunk yet. >> And I I live here now because I had to sell my house after um I got a divorce. So, it's just it's been hard like the three of us and me just, you know, being the only parent. and they think that they can take it and manipulate me because that's what their dad did for 20 years >> now when you were here >> and she was in front of you. >> Mhm. >> And you don't remember you believe she you first or >> she took she tried to swing at me. >> Right. Right. So we have >> her you defending yourself. Um did you get I I saw I think you have a scratch or two here. >> Scratches there. Um Maybe even under here. But >> but I know like she tried to take a swing at me and so I grabbed her and I know that uh >> I know her arms or or her like whole body. >> Um her arms like the the upper part. >> Okay. >> And I I said I said get away from me. Get away from me. And I like and I like was like holding on and she's holding on to me and she wouldn't go. And then finally we like broke apart and then she tried to hit me again and then she started trying to kick me. >> And this is the the >> the older one, >> the 20-year-old. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And I told her, I said, "You know, you're an adult now. You can't be doing this to me. There are adult consequences for it." And she >> The moment someone says adult consequences, you already know the night is ending in handcuffs. >> She just takes no responsibility for her life. >> Okay. Um, are you willing to fill out a written statement about what happened today? >> I don't know. I don't I mean I don't want I What can be done about this? >> Well, I mean, you called police for a reason, right? >> Yeah. I need I need for them to know what's what they're doing. They can't be doing what they're doing. and that keeps telling me that she goes to um her counselor at school and says that um I'm her and that I said well why haven't they taken you then if you you keep talking to them about this and she's like because I'm not black and blue and you know we're not physical we're usually not physical. Oh, that's what it was. She She said something really nasty to me and like and I picked up my arm and then I put it down >> because I know better and then that's when she um started attacking me. What is considered parental I do so much for her. I take her to school every day. I pick her up. I make I buy her groceries. Make sure she has food to eat. We make meals. She doesn't always eat them, but that's on her. Um because we have plenty of food here. Um I >> Yeah, I mean that's >> I mean I do. >> No, I I understand that that's that's not really that's >> I mean just because sometimes I have to go to my boyfriend's house. So that doesn't mean I'm her. >> Okay. All I know is that when I was in that situation, I had all this adrenaline going through that I don't even I don't remember like I don't for me that's normal. Um, like when I get I used to get into arguments with my husband because he was an, you know, he was a narcissist and was very emotionally abusive to all of us. And now the girls think that I didn't leave him soon enough. And now they're they say they're all screwed up because of it. And you know, I was trying to keep my family together and I was trying to remain hopeful that maybe I could make things work with him. But then I realized that I was caught in this cycle of and it's just going to continue on. So I don't I want that I want it to break. I want that circle to break. >> Mhm. >> You know what I mean? >> No. I I mean >> apparently I got a boyfriend too fast and ever since then >> they've been trying to sabotage my life. >> I don't know. >> I guess there was a verbal argument in the car. They got home. They come in the house. Mom kind of roughs up the oldest daughter, shakes her around a little bit. >> Um, and then swings at the younger daughter, she ducks, and then she was able to scratch out. >> Every person here had their own version of the truth. That's usually a disaster. Waiting for paperwork. >> You record this part of it. >> Um, no. >> No. She was saying one of you recorded part of >> I took a couple of pictures of what happened like of of like my arms and stuff like or of my sister's arms like >> Oh, okay. But no video specifically about what happened. >> No, I didn't take a video. >> Okay. >> Um but I I just took those. Oh. Oh, that's that's a tree, I guess. >> Okay. Um, okay. So, >> the 20-year-old is the one who got physical with you out here first, right? And then you both went inside. >> No, Emily stayed out here and um when I got in there, she approached me and said, "I got everything. I got everything." You hit her first and um I don't think I did. I think Emily started swinging at me and then I I held her. But I I haven't seen the video, so I don't know. But um I went inside and um that's when um confronted me and then she's just started um I don't even know what she was saying. She was saying all sorts of different things. my mother was standing next to me and then um something that she said um I guess like really um shocked me and like I picked up my hand but then I put it down and then she picked up you know she lifted her arm and then just started hitting me and then she tried kicking me with her well not well she tried to knee me and then she also tried to kick me and um my mother is in there if you want to Yeah. Okay. But she ever actually kick you >> in the process or No. >> Um, >> what's your mom? >> No, I think I stopped her each each time she she tried hitting me or kicking me. Um, or like kneeing me. I'm stronger than she is, so I'm able to hold her arms and like, you know, keep her from >> actually >> from actually. >> What's your mom's name? >> Sharon. >> Sharon. >> Hello, Sharon. Yeah. Hi, my name is John. Um, >> you want to step in >> if I could. Absolutely. >> Uh, yes. >> I did see Emily her Chris and I did see a Chris right here. And she won't listen to what anybody tells her to do. She swears. She calls me and Chris every name in the book believes that Kristen's a bad mother and she's not giving her enough attention. Kristen is a great mother. >> All right, put your hands behind your back and stand up. >> What? What? Um what? >> She spent the entire night convinced she was defending herself right up until the cuffs went on. >> Hold on. Don't even ask me what happened. I'm I'm I'm being I'm being arrested. >> I'm seeing here now. >> Um Oh my god. Why am I being arrested? She hit me. >> We're hanging up. But that's what you're doing. Molly. >> Okay. >> You have anything on you by any chance? Nothing. You're being placed under arrest for domestic violence. Okay. Battery. >> What exactly? >> Together. >> You live together as a family unit. You battery based on everyone that we have talked to. Okay. Determined that you two are the primary aggressors based on what happened. Okay. But that's what we determined based on what's going on. Okay. >> Based on what my mom said? No, not just on what your mom said. >> But hold on. I didn't say how am I the primary aggressor if she tried to me first? >> That's not what we have determined. >> But that's not what I said. >> I understand that's not what you may have said. >> Yeah, >> that's what we've determined based on talking with everyone here. >> Everyone here, my grandma didn't even see what happened. She was inside and and of course my mother's going to say something different. >> Okay. >> Have you ever been in trouble before? >> No. >> Okay. I would imagine that I would imagine because of the the the charge it is a misdemeanor that you will end up being released with. >> State of Florida requires law enforcement to take action and make an arrest when we have probable cause. Okay. >> She has to do some charges. >> No, ma'am. She did not. We are required to by Florida law. Okay. It's a criminal charge. Yes. You're being placed under arrest being charged with misdemeanor battery. Okay. >> Oh my god. But she battered me. >> You're being taken to the branch jail. Okay. will be charged with battery and because it's domestic, there'll be no bond and you have to see a judge in the morning. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. You going to spend the night in jail? >> Yes. So, you see first appearance be a judge in the morning. Your judge will decide whether you be released on your own recgnissance or if you'll have a bond issue. Okay. It'll be noted in the report that she does not want to pursue charges. It'll be noted in the report that you are saying you are not the primary aggressor and that she struck you first. >> Okay. That's not what we have as far as witnesses go. >> Okay. >> Witnesses. >> She's the witness. >> Okay. >> What? >> The panic really sets in when the story that made sense in your head stops working out loud. >> My my grandma wasn't even outside. Who? What other witness? I'm not I'm not tell saying that your grandma was outside. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just I'm just saying based on everything that we have talked about with her with your grandma. >> But me and say the same thing that that she me first. >> So the other witness would be her the one who me. >> I'm I'm sorry. I I I don't mean to be disrespectful. Well, I'm just trying to >> You don't have No, I understand this is an extremely stressful situation and you have more questions than I have answers that I'm able to provide for you. >> I can buckle in. >> I can tell you that. I mean, >> we could buckle you. It's not >> recently in a car accident. >> Absolutely. We buckled. Yeah. >> Was that okay? >> Yeah. Yeah. We're gonna clock a >> that that you >> I I'm sorry. >> I I understand you. I'll let you speak your your piece here in in a moment. Um because it is important that you you get to express what you want to tell me. I I understand that. Um, based on the totality of everything that has happened here that we were able to speak to to everybody and what we were able to hear from everyone, we can only determine what we were able to determine. Okay. Obviously, we weren't here to witness it, right? >> But I didn't even tell the full story. Like I I thought I was going to like tell like a playbyplay. I didn't even tell anyone that. >> Yeah. >> Is that something? Can Can I just like explain what happened? >> Yeah, you're more than welcome to explain what happened from your perspective. I That's fine. >> But shouldn't I have explained that if if if I before at this point that's not going to change what's happening right now? You've been placed under arrest because we have probable cause to determine that you two are primary aggressors for what happened today. But >> what is that cause? What she said? What do you mean >> the probable cause? That >> probable cause is is what we have to reach in order to to charge someone with a crime. We have to reach the threshold of probable cause. That's the the legal term for that. >> Okay. But if if she hit me and and I just like grabbed her arms to stop her, I don't I don't understand why I would be arrested for that. I I understand that's what you're telling me happened from your perspective. That's not what I'm being told by other people. Okay. >> But what that's what we're both telling you. >> I understand that. I understand that is what you are both telling me. Okay. >> She is telling me something different and your grandmother is telling me something different as well. Okay. I'm >> room for another one. Sir, this is something that has happened before with her, my father, me, my sisters. We were never the aggressors. She She has been charged with battery for my dad. He was charged for me. This is this is something that has happened multiple occasions, but never has it been me for my sister to Well, I don't I don't know what happened inside. I wasn't a part of that. All I know is that I I stood in front of her and I kind of put my hand up like not like in her face, but you know, like like to stop her >> like from from walking away from me, which maybe I shouldn't have done, but >> but I did not hit her. I understand. Maybe, you know, she thought I was going to hit her. You know, she was really worked up and everything. Um >> I But I didn't I didn't hit her. She She She hit me. Did you take a video? Yeah, I did take a video. >> She took a Can you see? Did you >> So when I asked earlier about the video, you said no, there wasn't. >> No, I said I I didn't take a video. I >> I asked her specifically. >> Finding out there was hidden video this late into the investigation made the whole scene even messier. >> She had a video. She said no. So >> I mean, you can find it on my phone. >> We're more than happy to look at the video. Okay. That initially we were told didn't exist. I said that I didn't pay I didn't >> I'm not I'm not referring to I'm talking to to her her video to what didn't exist. Okay. When I asked her specifically if she had video, she said no. So, we'll we'll go ahead and and and look at it, but that's not going to change what happened right now. So, do what you got to do. >> She said she has some scratches. >> I just have to document it. >> Mom can't can't come get her. You have to come get her. >> Yeah. >> Or something along those lines. Um >> so, >> where are the scratches at? Um, basically I mean those are the only ones I know of at the at the moment. >> Okay. The other ones >> you don't know like it feels sore but I don't think there were any cuts. I think it was more like hands grabbing. Can >> you hold your hands out like this? >> They've been abusing me for so long. It's over. After years of chaos, this family stopped trying to solve problems and started trying to win them. >> I'm not putting up with it anymore. >> So, but like I'd show her to >> you got to do what you got to do. >> The legal guardian. They may not. >> I didn't want them to go to jail, but you know what? You know, what am I supposed to do? They don't learn. They're never held accountable for anything. >> See, I you know, she >> I told him, "Do that one. Do that one first." took about the fact >> both daughters were arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after officers determined they were the primary aggressors during the physical altercation with their Mother.
