Police officers are no strangers to repeated offenders, but what happens when a teenager gets caught four times in just 6 months? I'm sorry. Like, I don't get pulled over. I'm sorry, guys. I'm new to this. These words really aged well. 20-year-old Karina Amando was first stopped in February 2023 due to blowing through a stop sign. Hello, registration and insurance, please. Well, you know, so I also Okay. The reason I stopped you is because I had you going through the stop sign without coming to a complete stop. I'm sorry. Okay. Have you had any license suspensions No. Okay. I'll go back. All right, so here's what I did. I didn't give you the moving violation cuz I don't want to put points on your license. I also didn't give you any of the probationary license things for having too many people in the car, driving while it's too late, and then not having the sticker. I don't I'm 20 though. No, no, no. Yeah, but Yeah, so I gave you a break on that, too, cuz that's court-mandatory. So, I gave you the lowest ticket I can give anybody, which is obstruction of view. You can't have anything at all hanging from the rearview mirror. So, it's the cheapest ticket available. If you want to just pay pay it, the instructions are on the bottom. If you want to go to court to contest it, phone number's on the top. All right? Yeah. All right, take care. Thanks to the cops' generosity, Karina managed to get away quite easily. Even though this should have been a warning sign, it looks like she didn't learn her lesson. Just 2 weeks later, she was stopped again, this time for speeding and swerving between lanes, what later turned out to be Karina's hobby. Hi. Good evening. How are you ladies? How are you? Do you have your license and registration and insurance on you? Where are you coming from? I came from the Black River Black River Barn, Randolph? Yeah. How was it? It was good. We did karaoke, okay. Oh, you did? Yeah, we did. What did you sing? Umbrella. No, no, we also sang Rihanna? So, Karina, how come you're driving her car? Well, just because we take Sometimes we take turns. Cuz How old are you? having I'm 20 years old. Okay. I just I feel bad having her drive like 30 minutes and then we just kind of slow down on the highway. So, you drove her car? I drove it. Nothing to drink tonight? No. Cuz you're underage, right? Yeah. Okay. You know why I stopped you? I was going over it. You were. You were doing 80 miles an hour and it's a 50 mile an hour zone. And you were going over the lines. So, I actually thought you were drinking just based on the way you were driving because you were over to left, over to the right, over to left, over to the right. Obviously, I don't smell any alcohol. Take your time. Karina, how's your license? Any points or anything like that? No, it's all good? All right, give me a couple minutes. Let me take a look at this, all right? Hello. I'm sorry. I couldn't find it, but I really just It's okay. I'm sure you have insurance and registration, right? don't. And I'm not going to hold her responsible even though it I know. I'm really sorry. Even though it's your car, she's the driver. She's technically the one that's supposed to have the documents. Um Karina, I have to issue you a ticket, okay? 30 over is way too fast. However, I'm not giving you a speeding ticket. I'm giving you a careless driving ticket. What that means is that it's not a four-point ticket and like $300, it's a two-point ticket. And once again, it was only thanks to the cop's kindness she wasn't checked for alcohol, possibly avoiding her first DUI charge. But only 2 months later, in May 2023, her luck ran out. Every day the bucket to go well, one day the bottom of go drop out. Hey, how are you? How are you? Can I see your driver's license, registration, proof of insurance with you? Both of ours are not. I'm sorry? Both of ours. Oh, yeah, if you got yours, sure. I'm sorry? I I don't know. I don't have insurance. Thank you. I'm sorry. Like I don't get pulled over. What do you have a ticket for there? You're holding a ticket in your hand. Is that yours? Yeah. I hate this ticket, though. I just haven't cleaned my car. Don't judge me. Okay. Where you guys coming from today? Donovan's. Donovan's? Yeah. All right. How much did you have to drink today? I I had nothing. I'm literally Is that happening right now? So, no. I could show you if you want. You're the passenger in the vehicle, so I'm not too concerned. I'm concerned with Yeah. Have you had anything to drink today? Any illegal drugs? Any Just alcohol? Yeah, I don't know. I had two drinks. Two drinks? Okay. How's your license? What? How's your license? Are you suspended? Anything like that? Oh, no. No? All right. Do me a favor, turn the key off, and just throw the keys up on the dashboard. All right, Corina, step out of the car, please. Why? Cuz I want to talk to you on the side of the road. Probably get I I can drive home. What do you mean? I No, I didn't drink anything. All right, that's fine, but take a breathalyzer. I can I can do anything you want. So, right now I'm asking you to step out of the vehicle so we can talk on the side of the road. Step out of the vehicle. I asked you you have to Yes. I believe you're intoxicated. I think she does still have belongings in that car. I cannot let you take those until we are done with what we're doing. So, if you want to hang out right here okay, that's fine. All right, listen.
