Each call had one thing in common. 47-year-old Christopher, a familiar name to law enforcement. Over the past 48 hours, deputies identified eight different calls for service involving him. In one earlier incident, officers noted that Christopher stated he planned to sleep near the sidewalk, specifically to generate more calls that day. As deputies arrived at the location, Chris was seen on the curb, bike and belongings scattered, and cars stopping, concerned about him. One stayed back to monitor as vehicles slowed to avoid Chris lying near the road. Three citizens stopped with one calling him a hazard as more 911 calls came in. Deputies decided to re-engage about 30 minutes later. As a result of his disrupted arrest, Chris was charged with felony battery threat to an officer, bail jumping, misdemeanor resisting obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct.
