Four suspects were arrested after firing shots near a school and crashing into a police car. It all went down Wednesday afternoon near North 17th Street and Summit Avenue close to a local school and the teens against Killing Everywhere Center, a community group working to keep youth safe. East St. Louis Police Chief Kendall Perry says officers spotted a vehicle in the 1700 block of Gaty Avenue. The driver slammed into a squad car and all four suspects tried to flee on foot. After a quick chase, police caught them all. Inside the vehicle, three assault rifles and a Glock with an extended magazine. Early evidence links the suspects to the gunfire. They're now in custody, but police haven't released their ages or possible charges yet.
