across the most messed up family stories and yet these stories never fail to leave you stunned at this point in time it's about the children they are covered in dirt they smell very badly when people spotted a car packed with seven kids wearing dirty clothes and no shoes they weren't just shocked they were horrified and so you guys are taking my kids because of accusations of multiple people reporting the same thing and that your children have been running around inside and out they're filthy of that asking for water with no parental Supervision in a parking lot on October 1st 2022 officers were dispatched to a parking lot after receiving reports of a vehicle occupied by several uncm children raising concerns among bystanders upon arrival officers immediately noticed a strong odor coming from the vehicle therey how are you doing hi are you courney okay are these all your your babies yeah okay hey puppy all right we're just my sister down the way she in the Halloween store oh okay okay walking them but they're bad so they had to come back oh oh okay yeah okay uh all right we're just getting some calls of some children running around in the parking lot and people got concerned and nervous and oh yeah no well my dog k run away you and so the kids they tried to chase after but I told him you know please the dog yeah how long have you had your dog for uh since she was four weeks hi puppy what's her name her name's cashmir cashmir all right so is your does your sister have kids too or she okay and they're all down there and then how many are I can't even tell how many kids you got oh my gosh how many does she have she has four so you have seven total with you guys right now uh yeah oh my gosh holy moly okay hi who is the most person in the know okay can you is it that big old y SUV out there yes okay so what exactly have you seen okay uh we haven't seen much except for the kids keep individually coming in here getting cups of water and ice which is no big deal but they're dirty the boy um just had shorts on no shoes no shirt and they were randomly for about 2 hours coming in and we we kept trying to watch but we've been busy they would like go outside and dissolve we couldn't tell where they were going okay so this last time they came in we went and watched where they were going and one of my servers walked um over to the front to see if she could see any par or anything and she said they were both fed over and who is that can you just tell us what you witnessed when you walked over so I checked the mail and then walked in front of the car and the both the subjects were like forward like falling asleep so the the person who's out there now yeah the girl was in the driver's seat and then I believe there was a black male in the passenger I believe okay but for sure the woman that we're talking to was completely slumped over and where were the children at I they were in the back and the windows were down and the car was running okay would you be willing to provide like a recorded statement of just official cor of what you saw ABS okay awesome the officer had heard enough it was clear something was off with this family and to ensure the kids's safety she made a split second decision one she didn't hesitate to lay out for the mother um she did go in and get some water from Cherry's but I was right here watching and everything you know so like this looks like an airplane this go they are a little out of control go Street Lamp yeah I talk to you over here pleas your kids okay so I'm going to be very blunt with you and this is going to go one or two ways okay yes ma'am uh we have reason to uh take all three children and protective custody um and so that's what we're going to do okay you and I both know what's going on here that's why we're here hi baby what's going on tell me we've had multiple witness is calling in about all of your children they're filthy you and somebody else were in there passed out in the car we have multiple Witnesses yes I'm not like I said it's going to go one of two ways problem so here's what's going to happen is I'm going to get really good contact information from you and I'm going to allow you to come back to the station and meet with CPS directly but as far as the police are concerned I do not have faith if I leave these children your custody that dude in my truck how do we how do we you know figure out or know that that's not what happened and you know whatever like uh so everything's just going to be about evidence right so we we take statements and then CCTV and all that stuff will speak to it cameras here cameras here cameras inside all that stuff I mean we do an entire investigation it's not like it's just face value right it's just based on the information we have here and now we're going to take action on behalf of the children and we're going from there okay and the address is on that business card as well is where I'll background check revealed a hefty criminal record meaning he wasn't even fit to take them home unfortunately the Mother wasn't any better her history of drug spoke for itself so then the the truth of the story is is that based upon everything again and they also look at previous CPS history right has there been CPS history before with children but with your specific three children yeah okay and then look at prior criminal history of you and current driving status like your dbls 3 you're not supposed to be driving so then how are and I don't know about you was your license suspended no no okay and that's what we're going to go all of these things get taken in consideration because it's about at this point in time it's about the children they are covered in dirt they smell very badly they were it looks like they've been living out that car she said they've been living out that car for about a week now or stting at some Motel she couldn't name because you and her have been fighting and so again we always are doing what's what we believe is best of the children so when CPS gets here we look at everything and be given in hold on hear me out hear me out but again based upon everyone's telling a different story no one's giv us straight answers all I know is that we were called and found these children in dangerous situation and I'm always going to do what I can to protect yes yeah absolutely and I'm very passionate I have my own kids kids don't get to speak for themselves but based upon the dirt and their smell it's they don't smell like they've taken a shower in days and days like it's not good it's it's very apparent that they've not been taken care of they all wet themselves at night time and when they correct it sounds like they have it smells like they have been sitting in it for quite some time so again my kids is messy listen I ain't going to lie to you my kids is bad as H okay and they messy okay you know what I mean but they they was not like that last night at all okay well they they smell as if they I said they've been in their own field for quite some time so no they all my family has we pee on our until like 6 went the bed all that we have diapers at the house and all that but you know what mean when Mom text them and says I can't step up and get I'm telling you I tell you because there's a native law that I been the same thing if you look me up right now same thing with the next B all I do is chase them I'm in court cases I'm in all that I know I know I I've seen your criminal history I know there's extensive criminal history but what I'm saying is is at the end of the day we are trying to do what's best for them we work with what we know what their past history is what our past history is and then based upon what we believe is going to be the safest option for the children that's what we go with so it stands right now CPS isn't here do you have your ID on you yeah I would love to run you if you don't mind real quick problem we tell them everything and we try to make a plan they're always going to try to put the children back with the safest family me member that there is right if you've telling my my lieutenant and my other partner that she's been crazy for a month but then she's got the kids right then I ask you why on Earth would you let those children go with somebody who's been not well and been fighting right if you know she's been off or she's been doing drugs and she's been falling asleep in cars then a reason person would say okay Dad why on Earth would you let those kids go with them right and so then my concern is not just about her choices but then your choices right because I care that's my job is to protect those kids so that's all of the things that we're taking consideration we don't take this kind of stuff lightly um and we just want to make sure when I go home tonight that I have full faith that those kids are safe and taken care of that is the only thing that I care about does that make sense okay we're at that we're at that I always say when we take him into protective custody it's like a big pause button we're going to go pause because at this point in time they were not safe and we need to try to figure out what safe looks like so it's a big old pause so before you can come see them or we can release them we have to it's like a full court press of trying to do what's best for those kids cuz we just want to make sure that they're safe the kids were placed in CPS custody after the mother failed to appear at the police station to meet with CPS if you think this family is the craziest you'll see today wait until you meet our next suspect put you my clothes that you bought I going to cut them up with scissors all right and she wouldn't open the door so I kicked her door this man thinks that just because his daughter isn't 18 yet his say comes Above the Law well officers have a breaking news for him this is when we're in the living room and we have a ground and then puts his foot on top of me holding me down on the ground on August 25th 2023 officers were called to a home over a heated argument between a father and daughter about her choice of I had to go get a a a hammer and and a and a screwdriver to get the door off the hinges you're you're a minor you are under my protection until you're 18 that's it and so I was I I kicked the door in whenever you guys came and I called my uncle and I said I'm waiting for the cops to come can you stay on the phone and then that's when he started knocking on the door when you guys came oh so am am I 13th 2024 detectives arrived at a home in New Mexico after the landlord next door reported hearing gunshots upon arrival cops were met with a 24-year-old man who had blood stains on his pants right problem he had no evidence to back up his claim we had a teacher come up and say to call 9911 because he quot parent that's not on the emergency contact just took the child and went to the parking lot okay where is this teacher she went following the parent okay have a description she has the description the the parent was wearing bright neon shorts and then a black tank top and the girl was wearing it's she's with the school group that are in that light blue okay sorry excuse me the more aggressive you are with your hands the less likely you're I with my hand I'm sorry myet I was telling him I with my hand guys okay let's let's bring it down a little bit talk to me about what's going on here okay this morning driving from Holly Michigan okay my daughter came got a trip come here I need your phone okay yeah we need your phone okay this bus driver she's messaging about how the bus driver's going and out of Lane swerving in cars okay I'm following behind the four buses that came from H Michigan okay as we're coming into M or coming into Ohio leave the Michigan speed limit goes from 70 to 65 then 60 a long way almost all the way here there's like a couple little spots it was doing well almost 80 but I didn't document that we got here at 9:45 you can see her time stamp thing and how long we would have been here in Ohio the bus driver is doing 10 miles an hour over with the bus load of kids that is reckless driving with a bus load of kids 10 they're saying well the bus can't go over 70 that's fine but the speed limit 70 that's still 10 m an hour over the speed limit with a bus load of kids to me that's reckless especially with my daughter on that bus it's the only thing I'm sorry I talk with my hands good but and my daughter is sending the picture this is from his thing on his this is now go to your time stamp thing we got here at 9:45 see what time that was we were and the mother knows and we cannot and I watched this vehicle run another run this bus run a car off the road it literally came right over I don't care what I have to do my daughter is not getting on that bus you want to escort her home I feel comfortable with that on that bus I don't feel comfortable with my daughter getting on that bus we are here because he didn't feel comfortable her walking around here alone so it's so your daughter and your stepmom this is the mom okay okay and I'm making sure she's stay she's making sure she stay involved too because she does not want her on that bus either okay so do you have any like ID or anything okay I appreciate I got an ID I got a company they learned that the company had a speed cut off of 75 mph in other words he was just causing a seene so what what is their side so I mean it's a school and he's not on the the list he can't just take a kid okay so our student information system has no record of him as a parent or as an emergency contact the expectation that's signed off by a parent by the actual parent is that a student gets on the bus the student travels home on the bus with us we live in Michigan right so that in releasing a student I can't do that okay where's mom so they have Mom on the phone over here let let me talk to Mom I they I mean their their complaint is that they allegedly have proof that the bus drivers driving reckless and they don't feel safe sending their kid home on the bus so that's what that's what their problem is we called the chartered bus the complaint yeah they said the buses are cut out at initially he said the bus was driving 90 M hour right the bus um company said they cut out at 72 okay so there's no possibility and then he's shifted his story a bit since saying his daughter has prove that the driver was re driving recklessly Okay so okay I'm going to run these IDs real quick okay mom okay what's going on I'll um who rode the bus we were from Michigan rode the bus here with us our expectation and policy is that if a student rides the bus too they ride back this Dad came not as a um but as on his own and wants to take his daughter his perch he is not even on the emergency contact list or in our student information system I can't I can't send a kid home regardless of whether someone's saying that they give permission to a student or not that's not the policy and any liability would fall on us if anything happened um he um is saying that the driver of the of the um chartered bus was driving excessively over the speed limit what I tried to share with him is that the buses have a cut off of 72 miles an hour at one point he was saying that the bus was driving 90 M an hour well that wouldn't be possible H this detective crew is calling from seski police how we doing yeah I bet so here's the thing um the I know that were there's an issue with the bus saying that the bus was going over a certain speed limit um the the yeah well the bus cuts off at 72 so the bus can't go over 72 miles hour period the bus doesn't allow it to it's a chartered bus so there's no way that it can be going you know 15 over or anything like that over because it's not it's not possible um so here's the thing I mean the school you sign something with the school obviously you know they bring here they have to take back uh we can't just you know allow a kid you know to get off of the bus are you okay with her going on the bus back and you picking her up from there or what do you mom basically said she's okay with them if that's the only option I mean he's not on no paperwork I don't don't want him to get in trouble it's I got one more deal for you I can't even say 100% that's Mom you know right so I feel like our liability on is just to safely get her she's got to go yeah bus what you guys got on it bottom line is she has to go back on the bus so it was going to be with him so yeah I'm like unless somebody's going to overrule okay and whatever paperwork they got on fil I'm at the local I'm at the local p in our hometown yeah so that was the thing is like this is an extension of the school right right he's not a custodial parent so they were telling me up there what was going on so I ran over here and I just I pumped it down till you guys got here just told I said hey man I'm not can't let you walk just little girl got hold on hold On's let's breathe so we were we were just just having that discussion like bottom line she has to go back on the bus he wanted to go on his truck so what I'm going to do is when she goes back on the bus I'll have our local PD at the school before they arrive I'll call right now and get the chief spun up on okay are are you traveling with the group I'm no I'm in my truck you're in your truck okay yeah and I will stay with the buses because of this cuz I've got all my I got my rig and everything in there so I'll stay with the bus on the way up cuz this guy's this guy's out of his mind yeah clearly um follow as soon as he discovered that he was not going to get his way the man would show his true colors further embarrassing his daughter later the stepmother would reveal what his true issue was and everything would start to make sense over 60 I'm calling 911 and I'm going to say I'm following the bus that has my daugh and I was going to tell you that if he starts driving radically and you I just hope at that time they don't say okay you get a ticket and my daughter has to stay on the bus that's the whole thing I I don't think the the bus company of the school would have that going so like I said if I actually told you how fast I was driving this morning to try to catch up to the bus because they were in and out at traffic I could show you a video I was doing 85 and couldn't catch that damn bus that bus was number three in line guess what bus was first to get here hers cuz he was driving a Ric he should have be driving a big bus like that especially for the kids oh we're going to we're going to go run them make sure fine tell me tell me that don't make no sense you should be driving a bus going to be behind and right here's his backer so we spoke to her mom her her mom is the emergency contact for the school and her mom her mom is okay with her going on the bus so the bottom the bottom line is she has to go on the bus because we can't we can't override the school's emergency contact system I get that you're concerned about how this bus driver so so so so so I'm going to let I'm going to let I'll let her go on the how far is your jurisdiction city of sanduski because as soon as we get 2 minutes down the road he's going to be doing 70 I'm going to call 911 and I hold somebody they're basically their Chief complaint is they don't like the way that one of the bus drivers was driving so I don't I can't validate that so we're we're basically telling him there's nothing we can do do about that so just it's probably just an excuse he want to take her home yeah yeah I get it made it very clear he was trying to get back to his truck a few times so if he makes it back there you can call the buses if you have a complaint about the way they're driving just report it and you can call the jurisdiction that you're in right there so just call 911 and they'll and say the bus is driving erratically they'll send someone out there like I this is just my my jurisdiction is just the city of sanduski here so I can't enforce any traffic violation that they might have committed until or that that area but yeah so just and there's some off-duty Holland police officers that are a part of this trip here they said they'll monitor how the buses are driving and they'll handle it
