WHO SHOT HIM? >> WILL YOU PLEASE GO BACK NOW? >> I was out on my porch and I heard a gunshot followed by arguing. >> Jesus. You have a bloody footprint. All right. I got someone. Looks like gunshots in the head. >> Come over here. >> Walk backwards. >> Walk backwards. Walk backwards. >> Keep coming. Keep coming. The following presentation contains material that some viewers may find disturbing. The case files and recordings shown here were obtained through official Freedom of Information Act requests submitted directly to the police department and may include previously unseen footage. Viewer discretion is advised. Larian had just started a new relationship with a woman named Tinisha. The two had been together for only 3 to 4 months, but the relationship was growing and they had begun building a life together. However, what Loren was only beginning to understand was that Tenesa's past had not stayed in the past. She had an ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Nathanal of Sanford, Florida. By all accounts, the breakup had not ended well. Nathanal had never truly moved on. And when [clears throat] he learned that Tenesa had moved on and that she was living with another man and starting a new chapter of her life, something changed. According to Tenesha, Nathanol allegedly threatened to hurt or kill Larion after learning she had started a relationship with him. What began as jealousy slowly turned into anger. To make matters worse, a mutual acquaintance had recently revealed where the couple lived. And on September 18th, that anger would escalate into the worst possible outcome. That night, the first 911 call came in at 11:18 p.m. >> This is 911. Do you need police, fire, or medical? >> Uh, police. >> What address? >> It is in the Sun Lake Apartments. >> Hey, what is the address? >> It was uh building 497 Sun Lake Circle. I was out on my porch and I heard a gunshot >> followed by arguing >> maybe about two three minutes >> and it was one shot. >> Yes, just one. >> And did you hear anybody speed off? >> I did not hear anybody speed off. It was followed by it was arguing followed by gunshot followed by more talking. And who was arguing >> was sounded like it was a male. >> Okay. >> And can I have >> It was either >> My name is >> And I'm sorry. What were you saying? It was either 497 or the building directly to the left. I can't remember the number. I think 489. >> And you haven't heard any more. Correct. >> I No, just that one. >> Okay. So, there is actually officers on scene at this time now. So, I will let you go. Thank you so much. >> Okay. Thank you. Mhm. Have a good one and stay safe. >> Thank you. You too. >> Thank you. Bye. >> As deputies approached the scene, another resident called 911 to report hearing a woman screaming from the first floor of building 497. >> This is 911. Do you need police, fire, or medical? >> Police. What address? 497 Sunlink Circle. >> 49 Lake Mary Circle. >> Yes. In Lake Mary. >> Okay. What's going on there? >> I I'm not really sure. I hear a lot of yelling coming from the first floor like shouting and just screaming. It sounded like they were screaming for help. Okay. And do you know exactly which part apartment it's coming from? >> It sounds um I believe it's coming from the first floor. Um I would say I'm on the So I'm on I believe it's coming from across 107 the apartment right across from there. Okay. And does it sound like a female screaming or a male? >> It sounded like a female. >> Okay. And can you hear them right now? >> Yeah, I do hear some shouting. It sounds like a man. >> Is that them in the background that I could hear, too? >> It may be. I'm not sure if it's police. I think I may have heard police. So, I don't know if there's somebody. >> I'm not really sure what I'm hearing. >> I do see a call through already that there is officers on scene. >> I think the officers may be there knocking or something because I heard like an it sounded like they said police. >> Okay. I just wanted to confirm if you had any more information on which apartment it could be, but that was just across from apartment 107. That was helpful. Thank you. >> Yes, you're welcome. >> And well, I just want to confirm it was just a male and female voice that you heard. Was it sound any kids or anything? >> I'm sorry. Um, can you repeat the question? >> Did you hear any kids voices or anything or was it just one male, one female? Possibly. >> Not children. I didn't hear any children. I I heard um well earlier I heard it sounded like a male and a female earlier and then I heard like a bang, but I'm not really sure if it, you know, what the bang was. Um, and then after that, um, maybe like five, 7 minutes later, I heard like a like a woman yelling. >> Okay. All right. So, they actually are there. So, I will let you go. Thank you so much for all this other information that you've given us. >> Okay. Sure. >> Have a good one and stay safe. Okay. Thank you so much. >> You're welcome. Bye. >> Do you guys hear any gunshots? What? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> Hey, is this Landon? >> Yes, sir. >> Hey, Landon. This is Deputy Veco with the sheriff's office. >> Yes, sir. >> Um, tell me a little bit more about what you heard. Like, was it coming from an apartment? Was it coming from the parking lot? >> I'm not 100% sure. It definitely didn't sound like the parking lot. I was on my back patio facing the lake and I'm on the third third floor and I was just sitting there watering my plants and I was hearing some sound like ar give me traffic right now. Give me traffic right now. [screaming] >> Where? Where? >> Where? >> Where? Relax. >> No. No. Go. Go. No. >> Where? >> I need everyone. STOP SCREAMING. We got someone shot. >> THE BACK DOOR. GO BACK. >> WHERE? WHICH ROOM? >> THE BACK. >> Oh my god. >> Where? Where? >> Come on, GUYS. >> NO. NO. NO. STAY BACK HERE. >> STOP. >> All of you. What I need you to do is to shut up so you can listen. >> WHICH ROOM? >> LISTEN. WHICH ROOM? >> THE BACK DOOR. RIGHT THERE. BACK DOOR. >> Where's the suspect? Is there anyone in there? [screaming] >> You guys got a shield? >> Anyone got a shield? >> Okay, go get a shield. What is going on? >> They got someone shot in there. >> Someone shot in there. >> Which one? >> That one. >> Not right now. I'm still trying to figure that out. Trying to make coffee with a victim. >> We're going to be at apartment 103. help. Nobody. >> All right, I got someone. Looks like got shot to the head. 45 semi south region now please. [snorts] Stay with him. One second. >> Trying to work on it. >> We're going to clear this. >> Stay here. We'll clear it through the front door. So, we're not walking out over the the crime scene. >> Okay. Y'all good? Yeah. Give me a shield. We're going to make entry into the uh we're making entry to the apartment. SHERIFF'S OFFICE, IF YOU'RE IN THERE, MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN. Sheriff's office. Police, if you're in there, make yourself known. All right, stand back real quick. Bloody foot. >> Yeah, that's the four so far. want to check for. >> Yeah, I don't I don't have any gloves on me. I'm going go get my car real quick. >> Larian was pronounced dead at the scene. As deputies processed the apartment and collected evidence, the distraught group was struggling to comprehend what had just happened. Among them was Tenesa. Fighting back tears, she approached one of the deputies. What she revealed would provide detectives with their first real lead. Let's wait for a couple more units and then uh we'll have him approach real quick. He had been here. Who was he with? That's nobody. He's with nobody, bro. This is This is her boyfriend. This my sister, bro. We was all here. We left here, bro. He was not here. He came back here, bro. We got a call from at the bar, bro. Yeah. Her ex-boyfriend came here, bro. And he >> ex-boyfriend. >> Yeah. And he had shot him. >> Who? What's his name? Nathan. Nathan. >> Nathan. What? >> I don't know. I don't know. I don't even know. >> Where's your sister? I don't talk, dude. You got You got to talk. Who's Whose sister? Your sister? His sister? >> I'm his sister. >> I need an idea right now. >> What's your ex? Listen. Listen. What's your ex-boyfriend's name? >> MY EX-BOYFRIEND. >> Your ex-boyfriend. >> Nathaniel. The apartment. His name is Nathaniel Bratcher. >> 45. Just put his name on the screen, please. Nathaniel Bratcher. Nathaniel Bratcher might be a possible suspect. I got to go. You're going to jail. And I meant that. Nathaniel Bratcher. >> Is that that his phone number? >> Yep, that's his phone number. >> Copy his phone number really quickly. We could do a cafe search to try to find this guy. Please >> move the cars over here. 45. The last person that saw the suspect is signal 7. Currently, the people that are here arrived after they learned that there was an argument between the deceased and the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. >> Sorry, what? >> Negative. There there wasn't any zeros here in the body, right? I didn't see any. >> No, you got a footprint out here. So, a possible possibly west, but >> five. Only thing we got so far is we do have a bloody footprint. Uh that's towards the rear of the apartment, like towards the lake. >> Jesus. >> What did they come? Did they come inside? >> I don't think so. Mario tit, >> can you advise? I'm pretty sure it's going to be as soon as that call came in. >> I don't know how you break >> cuz he live Does he live in Se County? >> Yes. I can tell you where the he stay. He stay on Cap Capel Drive. >> HE KILLED HIM. HE CALLED HER AND TOLD HIM 20 MINUTES AGO WE WERE AT THE WEST Capan Drive. Capan Drive. I think it's Capan. Capell. I don't I don't know what the is. She know the out. >> Gotcha. Gotcha. Real quick. Real quick. Okay. I understand there's a lot going on, but we need the information. Calm so we can get it OUT AND CATCH. >> I CAN'T. HE BLOCKED ME. >> NO. NO. I'm not saying call him. I'm saying calm so we can try to get somewhere. Okay. Listen to me. I know. I understand. >> Just listen to [laughter] me. Okay. Listen to me real quick. Okay. Nathaniel, right? Nathaniel Bradford. >> Okay. >> Do you know Do you happen Do you know his birthday? Do you know his birthday? I think it's my 90 98. >> I can't >> up there. 103. He's going to be in the in the rear. >> Ex-girlfriend. There's an ex-girlfriend. Hey, they not even not even together. >> Does he drive a Volkswagen? >> I don't know what the he driving right now. >> No, but what what does he usually drive? >> I don't know. He usually be in a white uh Mustang >> so far. A obviously a shooting. So, he was here by himself. Uh I haven't talked much cuz they're still like up here. The little bits and pieces I've been able to get is that her the guy in there is her current boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, Brad called her saying, "I'm going to go kill your boyfriend." And then >> they get here and he shot it back there. Obviously, we got the call that the guy heard arguing >> uh between two males with a gunshot. When I get here, we're like still trying to figure out if there's anything. And then when we're walking around, I just hear a bunch of screaming from back here. So, I'm pretty sure they went to the apartment, saw him dead, screamed, and then saw us. And >> yeah, that's where we're at now. You good? >> Yeah, I'm I'm good. Just a lot. Yeah. I don't know like where the hell the suspect was. >> Um >> Yeah. They just called. >> Yeah. I was um so get over there with judges and let's see if we have any more information on the on the >> the suspect. Okay. >> I got SDL. She's he lives in El Capitan which is his current probation where El Capitan Capan. Okay. That's >> where Capan is. >> Stanford like off 20th. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Where are they coming? Oyola. >> There's Oyola over there. It's a It's like a angled street. >> Yeah. >> It's not one of the one of the great streets. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Cuz if that's the car, we're going to have to hold everything. >> Who is this over here? Girlfriend. >> So, it's girlfriend and then like friends or I'm sorry. Yeah. Girlfriend of the scene. Ex-girlfriend of the suspect. Was she in there? Like >> so when I first got here, I went over there cuz I saw like like Barry's car. So I kind of started driving. I'm like, "All right, let me get her in my car." Uh or I'm sorry. I was actually on the phone with the guy that called to try to get more info. And when I'm on the phone with him, I start getting on my car and I hear like loud screaming. So I run this way. That's when the owner kind of like freaking come right on me like three people like he shot. He shot he shot over there. So I trying to ask him like, "Hey, suspect this, this, that." But couldn't get anything. So >> the Seol County Sheriff's Office immediately launched its alert aviation unit. At approximately 11:49 p.m., just over 30 minutes after the shooting, the helicopter crew located a white Ford Mustang near Oyola Drive and El Capitan Drive. Traveling away from Nathanal's residence, Sanford police officer Kyle conducted a traffic stop. A woman named Kayana was behind the wheel and Nathanal was in the passenger seat. As deputies made contact with him, they noticed what appeared to be blood on his pants and on the sole of his right shoe. Its tread pattern would later be matched to a bloody footprint stamped into the concrete outside Lan's back door. >> You want him to come to me? >> Where you want him to go? >> Come over here. Walk backwards. >> Walk backwards. Walk backwards. >> Keep coming. Keep coming. You >> got him. >> Yep, I got him. >> I don't know if they had a tag. I know we are right They didn't have a tag. >> What a subject description. >> Can we get a subject description? See if we might be within. Yeah. >> What's his name? >> What's your last name? >> Same last name. >> What year were you born? >> 98. Are you a junior? >> Are you a junior, senior? What are you? It's got they got the bird. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Alpha 26. It's going to be >> Haven't touched it. Nope. Haven't seen anything from the outside. when you got out. >> Yeah. >> Maybe kicked on a road for 80 days and in a month. >> Yeah, let's do that. Let's try get one lane open. He >> is. >> I think so. He said he's not as two different Shut up. One sec. >> All right. All right. I'm going drive the [ __ ] this way. >> That's fine. Anyway, >> that's all right. Grab a brown head. >> Pull up on there real quick. Got your brown. Not even >> gave it back. >> Okay. No problem. We're still investigating. >> All right, ma'am. You're going to be coming with us >> right now. We need >> You're going to come with us. >> Back up right now. We're going to walk over to our car. Okay. >> Coming through. >> Coming through. Hey, >> it's open. You don't have anything on you? No. >> All right. >> For right now. >> Okay. Right now, we're going to hold on to the phone. Not going to do anything, but it'll be up front. Okay. >> Swing your feet in. >> It's kind of hot in here. >> Okay. I'm going to turn on the AC. Okay. >> Unfold. Go on the other side and roll down that window, too. Roll down her window. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Mhm. Uh, not all the way down. That's good. Mhm. Christina, you didn't stay on standby with the car. >> Both Nathanal and Kayana were taken into custody. Meanwhile, officers were still processing the scene. Tina told investigators that she had been at the Wet Spot Bar in Sanford that evening when Nathanal, her ex, had called her, threatening to kill Lion once again. finish couple seconds. If you walk over here, we move in here like five. Is your room? >> No, not yet. I think so. Were you here? >> Okay. I was out with my friend, her brother and his girlfriend and I was going to call my ex my ex was calling me saying that he was going to come directly. 94 >> over a year ago. >> Yeah. So that way we were talking about so you were getting what I mean. Okay. So basically when we first moved in here um he has a friend he has a friend whatever the friend brother stays upstairs whatever I don't know what apartment he stays in but I know that he stays upstairs >> the thing friend brother yeah so okay so I guess I had we had an apartment over there in Sanford and I ended up moving out of the apartment because I was going through abusive relationship with him already so I ended up moving out of the apartment and that's when I moved here when I moved here He didn't know where I stayed at because I blazed silently. I didn't tell him nothing. I didn't tell nobody nothing. I just open up. So I guess when his friend seen that I was standing, he called me and told him that I where I live at basically. >> Okay. So you think you live somewhere here in this building? >> He don't not his friend but his friend. So you know he be coming over his brother house and I Yeah, that's how he saw me. >> So um probably like a couple probably like a month or two after that is when I started I had this new boyfriend named Cosby. started talking to LeBron and LeBron has been staying with me ever since he's been on me for like over three months. So, he's been threatening and telling me, "Oh, well, he want to come over here and be with um Leon and stuff like that." >> They know each other. >> No, they don't. They don't know. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, they don't even know each other. Like, he is Lan don't bother nobody. He be in his own circle. He doesn't bother nobody. I don't have no problems out. So it's like for that to just happen. I don't know. I just I don't know what it's >> what he threatened to do. He said he threatened to >> Yeah. He threatened to come kill him or do whatever. So then >> Yeah. So then Okay. >> He didn't call you anything. >> No. Okay. I didn't tell him because I didn't want him to, you know, worry about it cuz I was already telling him like that he was going to move cuz he was going to move. We already we still in the process of moving. So I already told him tonight like our limit. So then okay now tonight we call like every once in a while. So I wouldn't say like back to back but like we call every other episode and he was specific. He was telling me like he would do something truthful, but I wasn't thinking that he was for real. You know what I'm saying? Like this is somebody I was talking to over a year ago. You done moved on. You done had a baby. All kind of. And then it's like you done come over here messing with my love. So then, okay, we out at we in Sanford at um at wet spot downtown having karaoke night and he calling me, oh drunk. Oh, I'm going to do this to him. Oh, when I get to the house, nobody better not be there. This that and the third. So at the time, me and Lauron, we already kind of going back and forth a little bit. We wasn't arguing, but he was just telling me like he was going to leave and get stuff. So I was just like, "Okay." I hung up the phone and then that's when he kept calling me and was like, "I want to go do this. Do that." So I called back to see like, you know what I'm saying? And then that's when he wasn't answering the phone. So I'm like, "What the like what the is going on?" So I'm calling both of them back to back like back and forth to try to make one of them answer the phone. Ron wasn't answering the phone. He wasn't answering the phone first. Then he answered the phone and was like, "Oh, I killed." So I'm like, "What the heck? So I'm like, "Okay." Like, >> so it was then you called him >> I Yeah, I called him. It was like damn near when I when I was almost here. He told me that he shot me and that's when I got here. I pulled up. That's when I seen y'all sitting over there. I got here. I tried to open the front door. I didn't have my purse or my keys. So I went to the back. And when I went to the back, that's when I seen out on my back porch cuz I my room leads to my back porch. Yeah. Are you able to show us 17 times? The only reason that we're here right now is because we have to make sure that no one goes in or outside of the home. Okay? So, we're not here to mess with anyone. We're not here to talk to anyone. All right. So, your grandparents are in the front. They're okay. They're good. They got their whatever stroller thingy. They got shoes. They got clothes on. They're sitting up there because they're choosing to. They are allowed to go back inside the home, but they're choosing to stay out here. Okay. Um, but no one can go in or out of the home. Okay. >> But them because they're already inside kind of, you know. >> My phone is very cracked up. You got to hurry up and you got to hurry up and get it. I have my phone 100%. You need to get a >> See all them calls back to back back to back back to back. Okay, here goes. Well, I was calling back. Well, you can see it right here. Like I kept calling in between. I was calling him the most because he was telling me that you feel me. Oh my god. I was trying to hurry and get all >> So he called you when you were at the >> This is when I called Peter. I called him before that. He called me. When was the last time I called? The last time I called him. >> So you first karaoke. >> Yeah. And then we ran we had to rush here. I'm not going to lie. We ran a couple bikes to get here. We rushed here and then me and my friend jumped out the car. I tried to push the front door down, but the front door was locked. So when I went to the back, I seen my friend seen him laid out first. Did you actually go on the course? >> No, I didn't go on the board. I didn't go on. Oh my god. No need to carry guns. Well, not um we don't always carry much, but I know a few people, you know what I mean? >> Describe it. >> No, I can't describe it because I don't be around him. I have a boyfriend. I had a boyfriend. >> Okay. Well, you said you seen before. That's why I was asking like uh No, I haven't been around him in over a year. >> Okay. So, you guys >> Yeah. So, like I haven't you get what I'm saying? Like I haven't really been around him. Well, I can't really describe to you what the gun looks like, but >> you just obvious A lot of times you go out and stuff. >> I don't need it open. I'm just looking. Actually, I opened the back door. Hold on. >> Are you hurt at all? Are you injured at all? No. >> No. Nothing? >> No. >> Okay. >> This is sick going up. >> I want you. I mean, don't throw it too much. It's >> I'm so wet. Damn. Yeah. I'm claustrophobic. >> Understandable. Well, I got again try to get the window done and get you a little bit of air back here, >> but no injuries at all. Nothing on your >> No. >> Okay. Yeah. Get some get some fresh air. Get some fresh air. >> That's it. >> Okay. >> Thank you. This cold. >> Gotcha. [ __ ] Okay, I'll close the door again, but I'll come back and give some more fresh air in a little bit. >> Thank you. >> Anything on the phone smoking? >> Oh my god. >> Mostly at night. >> Sometimes he wouldn't. >> So he was out there. >> Yeah, he was just out there. I don't know. I'm not sure what he was doing. When I got off the phone with him, he told me he told me that he was leaving. >> Is he ever gone at all? >> Yeah. >> No, he gone. >> Oh my god, my stomach. This is happening all the time. Like, why? I can't use the bathroom. For real? I been out since like What time is it? You don't even know. I wish I could go in. >> I wish I could go in the bathroom. >> I'm not sure. >> How far is the office from here? Well, >> 10 minutes I'm going end up using the bathroom. >> Not not running red lights. >> Yeah. So, I mean, realistically, typically in a situation like this with with this magnitude, we would ask that the witnesses come down and and give us like video, you know, statements so we can speak with you like in a much better area. You know what I'm saying? Wait, where do I have to right now? >> Now you go to the bathroom and stuff first. >> The bathroom there. >> Okay. So, when yall want to go right now cuz I have to use the bathroom now. >> Yeah. Yeah. Is >> that your car? No. That's my car. >> All right. All right. Yep. Nathanal and Kayana were then transported to the Seino County Sheriff's Office for questioning. Meanwhile, investigators executed a search warrant at Nathanal's home at Capitan Drive in Sanford. >> Anybody else in there? >> We're going to search the house. >> It's okay that we go and search your home. Correct. Ma'am, >> ready? >> No, we can't. Okay, it's all good. I'm going to assume this is his room. It's got a whole lot of guys stuff in it. >> There's bugs everywhere. >> Mhm. I think they're in there. >> So, I think this room over here might be his. It's got guys shoes and stuff. [clears throat] every house I've ever been in. >> All right. >> Now that they're back and the camera is on, I'm going to read this to you. Okay. >> So, this what I'm only handing is a search warrant for the house. Okay. I'm going to read it to you and why was it was applied for everything. Okay. Uh in the name of the state of Florida to Dennis M. Lima, Sheriff of the Sim County Sheriff's Office or his deputies in the commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement or any of his duly constituted uh constituted agents. Whereas complaints supported by an affidavit haven't been made and incorporated by reference and whereas said facts made known to me cause me to certify and find that there's probable cause to believe that there are certain laws that have been or being violated in or on the certain premises located in S County, Florida being known and described as followers. >> So they're okay, but nobody can come back on the property. >> That's a shame. >> So they're done. >> I pay taxes for this property. >> I know. >> I'm the owner of this property, so why I can't go back? Damn, because >> a damn show will so I can go over there with them. Damn, that's kind of brand name. >> You know, officer, I want to call her right. Listen, listen. Listen, >> I understand. >> Supposedly, they will be over and I won't sue me. >> Okay. You got to let them do what they got to do. >> Yeah, I understand. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> I'mma sue y'all though. >> Okay. >> I want to call you by your right name. >> Rigio. >> Rigio. Thank you. >> You're welcome. real quick. Just come here, please. >> So, how how my mom my mom have no search? One that that's like crazy how like >> we can't tell you any more than that because it's an ongoing investigation. >> But this my house so y'all ask me to go inside. It's your mom's house, which they explained it all to a mom house. It's on paper. It's my house. My father's house. >> Tell her more when they're done. >> Well, how go search though? That is crazy as though. >> It's a court order by a judge. >> How the judge sleep? >> They wake him up. >> Well, he should have been a long time. >> A judge on duty. They wake up >> always. >> You know what? What you say your name is? >> Rigio. >> I just can't go. I just can't go over there right now. That's on G. So back up. >> I said though. Hopefully it'll be done soon. Hopefully it'll be done soon. >> They got a warrant yet. >> Yes, >> Angel. >> Yes. >> Where said your grandma has it now. They just read it >> in her hands. She got the paper in her hand. >> Uh I don't know. She might. >> I want to see the paper. >> You're going to have to wait till we're done. Okay. >> She'll definitely I'm sure go over it with you guys when they're all done. >> Just got to give them some time. >> Hopefully it won't take too long. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. I'm trying to figure out like how y'all going in the house without my without my consent though. Like hire like how >> it's your parents house and >> that's my parents house but I don't >> I don't have to have consent with a search warrant. >> What a search warrant at though. >> Your mom has it.
