I have kids. You want my kids to come over there and sit with me all the time? I would never do anything to a child. When was he diagnosed? He hasn't. That's what we're doing tomorrow. So, how is it stage two if he hasn't been diagnosed? Well, on November 31st, 2023, 911 operators received a highly unusual and disturbing phone call. 911. I just received a phone call from my husband. He said that our 87year-old neighbor just came over and asked him to delete a browser that he had on his laptop and when my husband opened it um it was labeled toddler vagina. He's looking up child pornography and now the man is in the driveway trying to burn the laptop. Do you think it was accidental that that information got up there? No. That's why he's doing that. Okay. And he's outside. He just stopped him from burning the laptop. Talked to my husband. He just took the gasoline away from him. We'll get him on the way as soon as we can. What's going on? So, he came over Tuesday and he asked me to look at his laptop. I said, "Okay." Said, "What do you want me to do?" And he said, "I want you to delete some stuff." He had some stuff on it that I don't want on there, but I want it removed. So, I'm like, "Okay, I'll just, you know," he goes, "I want the whole program removed." And I said, "Okay." And then he said, "Well, I want to put it back on." And I'm like, "Well, what's the point of removing it?" You know what I mean? So, I'm like, "Okay, whatever. I got to go get my kids at school." So, then the next morning, which was yesterday morning, he stopped me and said, "Hey, could you um look at my laptop again? How you doing?" And I said, "Yeah, no problem. I'll look at it." So, I went over there and he had it open. I looked at it and he goes, "I want you to remove it. Same story." So, I'm like, "Okay." I saw his windows that were open. One said toddler vagina. I didn't click in it, but I saw the windows. There's like six windows. The next two were maybe Russian. Brother, did you see a new sort of chop pornography? I saw the tab. I have two kids and young daughters. So I'm like, get out of here. So I go, what do you want me to do? And he said, just delete it. I'm like, okay. He was standing there. I didn't know what to do at the time. I'm like, what do I do? So I would have opened if he wasn't standing there to see what it was. Yeah. But it definitely said toddler vagina. And I'm like, and I said, I'm done. I'm I just got mad and I just said, I'm going home. So I called his wife at work and told her about it. And she said, "Well, I'm going to come home now." I said, "Okay." So, I guess she called him. He came back over here and wanted me to delete it. The whole thing. This is today. Today? Yeah. Then I said, "I'm done. I'm not anything with this." And I I let him have it. I yell at him a little bit. I'm not going to lie. I have kids. You want my kids to come over there and sit with you all the time? I said, "I don't do it. I'm not doing it." And it just And then finally, I said, "Just please go." So, I called his wife, told her what happened. She was on her way home. And I was out here with her on the phone and he had a dolly with this on. And I said, "What are you doing?" And he goes, "I'm going to burn the laptop." So he had the laptop with the lighter out back. And I said, "No, you're not." And his wife started crying. She's like, "I'm trying to get there." So I said, "Okay." I said, "Please go sit down." I please. So he went sat down. I went back in my house and like I saw him walking along the side. So I ran out really fast and I said, "What are you doing?" He said, "I'm going to burn it." And I said, "Why?" He goes, "I want to destroy it." And I'm like, "Okay." Hey. So, I grabbed this and I ran over here. Paul, my wife, my wife said, "We have to call." Where's the laptop now? It's over there. Is it one piece? I don't know. His wife came home. I was listening in and she said, "We were going to destroy. I want to destroy it. It's going to be destroyed. I'm not going to take it and we're going to destroy it." So, I don't know. She said, "I'm going to take it to work. I don't really know what's going on over here." Um, I wish I never saw it, but then I'm like, he has a granddaughter that's 12. Hello. Hi. Hi. Hey. How you doing? I'm deputy. Who's your five county sheriff's office? How you guys doing today? We're fine. So far. Gotcha. What's going on today? He's got a dementia. Okay. And he tried to take the gasoline and burn the computer. Gotcha. And it was so close to the house that Mike called me, said the house was going to he's sick. Gotcha. Are you on any medications at all? No, he's going to the doctor tomorrow. Okay. It's a new doctor. Gotcha. So, how did all this start today? What? How did this all start today? I had a computer and I asked and I had a program on it that I didn't want. So I asked him to to get rid of it. Okay. He saw something and I don't know how. What kind of program did you have on there? H What kind of program? It was pio. I don't know. I don't know. It's another search engine. I don't know either. It's just wanted What does that What does that search engine do? Is that what What is that? I I'm not familiar with it. I don't know what it is. It's a It's not a good program. What are you supposed to search things? What does it What does it do? H What does it do? That's it. What is is it different from like Google? Anything brings up things that you might look at like what? Anything. Okay. Then what else happened? So, you had that search thing on there. I asked him to take all that off. Okay. He saw something. I didn't even know it was on there. Okay. I don't know. I don't think he saw anything either because he didn't have it very long. Gotcha. I'm taking care of Got it. Then what what else what else happened? Nothing. Okay. He has two children. I got you. They're never over here. I would never do anything to a child. Okay. I didn't mention anything about that. Well, there's nothing there. What did he say? He was saying you brought over the computer with gasoline and like a a dolly. You know what the gasoline was for? He told me what what he saw. Well, I just don't want I don't I don't want you starting fires in a neighborhood. Yeah, he was. That's a good point. Cuz usually you start a fire with gasoline. It's going to explode. Uhhuh. It's not like diesel. Gasoline is going to It's going to ignite very fast and you're going to get hurt. I haven't ever started a fire ever. I came home from work. I got Mike called me and I he was going to Okay. So, how long has this been going on with the computer? Have you asked him to delete the browser before? No. No. This is the first time this has happened. Okay. You guys haven't have your IDs with you by any chance or driver's license? I have mine. You drive his too if Thank you. I am so sorry. Why are you sorry? I was asking why you're sorry. Cop cars in my front yard for one thing. Gotcha. I didn't do anything. What are you normally like on a computer? Is there anything that you look up or anything or Oh, everything. Like what? You examples? The weather. Weather and stuff. Okay. All right. I have a few questions to ask you. Um, so he has dementia. You're saying how long has he had dementia for? He's had it. It's he has been age two. Okay. Um, he when was the last time he was on medication? He's never been. That's I have a hard time getting him over. When was he when was he diagnosed? He hasn't. That's what we're doing tomorrow. So, how is it stage two if he hasn't been diagnosed? Well, I'm just watching for a while and and I talked to people and they indicated they've had parents like that. Okay. I understand he may be older, but he he's heard me just fine through my conversation with you and he's heard me just fine when I was talking to him. Okay. All right. Um, just give us a few minutes. Um, we're still investigating everything that's going on. Okay. Um, this laptop, where is it located? I got it. I got to destroy it. I took it away. He doesn't need it. Okay. I'm just saying I don't do anything with it yet. Um, I do have to call my supervisor. Once I have answers and more clarification, I'll come talk to you guys. Okay. All I All I ask you guys is hang out for a little bit. Okay. I'm a school teacher, too. Were you? What was the reason why you were bringing out the gas tank? I was going to destroy the computer. You're going to destroy the computer? Yeah. Okay. I asked him to destroy it. He wouldn't do it. Okay. Is it your computer? H. Is it yours? Uh-huh. How long have you had it? Oh, a long time. It's just a little thumb. Long time. If you were to If you were to guess, how long have you had it? Couple of years. Five, 10, 10. No, not that many. Couple. Two. Two. Okay. I don't know how old it is. I don't know how old it is. It's okay. Now, where's the laptop right now? I have it. You have it? Okay. She won't let me have it. Okay. I didn't do anything. Okay. No one's saying you did anything wrong. We're just, you know, we're here trying to make sure everything's okay. Hey Jay. Hello. How you doing? Good. I was going to burn the computer and they thought I was going to burn the house down. Well, either way, that's the wrong choice. I know it was. This is kind of where we're at. I'm going to be very straight up honest with you. So, right now there's allegations being made that there may be potential child pornography on that laptop. Okay. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. That's um that's a different pay grade that has to deal with that. Okay. I do have enough right now to go for a search warrant and secure that laptop. But you can hand it over to us um that way. No. Um and voluntarily give it to us. But if we do go for the search warrant, I have every right to secure this residence and that laptop until the search warrant is done. Okay. Um which could be today. So you want to take it? We want to take the laptop. Yes. And if there's nothing on it, you get it right back. And no, it's that's it. They said there was. So when you say secure the property, what exactly? Secure the property. So I can secure everybody in here from tampering or touching the evidence. You mean everybody's going to stay out here? Everyone has to stay out here until that search warrant's done and then we take the laptop and we leave with the laptop legally. But if you want to surrender the laptop to us with consent, we get the laptop now and we get out of here. What happens if I surrender it to you and then you find things on it? What are you going to do next? That's that's not up to me. That's a different whoever. That's completely up to our detectives, especially He hasn't done anything. He's just looked at I understand. Um he's got dementia. I understand. That's all going to go into account, but this is not something I can just go back on the road and ignore. You have to see my position. Um espec How old are you, sir? 87. I don't know if they're going to even push the like, you know, an issue just due to his age. Um just because that can be physically taxing that whole process. Okay. But as of right now, those are your those are your options. I can secure a search warrant and then take the laptop that way or if you want to hand it over to us. I might We don't look at it. We just give it We submit it as evidence and then the detectors pick it up and that's it. Just don't touch it. We're just going to grab our gloves right here. Don't touch it, man. Just leave things. I just picked it up and I'm going to take it. You're okay. Um like I said, it's nothing. It's nothing against you guys. I just I have no I have a job to do. My fingerprints are on now. No, it again that it's more of what's there internally. If there is anything, like I said, if there's nothing on there, But I've been trying to get rid of I've been trying to break. You can't break these things. Um just it it's just one of those things we have to do. Okay. Um just point to him where it is. We'll take it and then we're going to submit it. Okay. Why do you have another Okay. Okay. Um and that that wasn't coming from a threatening man or anything. I'm just very I'm not going to sit here and lie to you. Do I get anything writing that you took it or anything? I can give you a case card with all my information and everything. Is there any additional stuff you want to let us know? Oh, I that's the only thing you have. I have my own computer, but never touches. Um again, that that's the only thing I have enough right now for a search warrant for based off talking to the neighbor and talking to you. Um again, I'm not here to lie to you. I'm just here to tell you how it is. Okay. We're not going to touch that laptop. That goes straight submitted. We don't even we don't even look at it. Um that goes straight to our detected. that's assigned for these kind of cases and then whether they want to do anything with it. Um or if they have enough probable cause to pursue criminal charges. Um that's going to be on them. With that being said, um I'm going to go to my car. I'm going to get you case cards, bunch of information. Just hang for a few more minutes and then I can let you guys go about your day. Okay. Okay. Could you give us the computer? This is just like a written form stating that we're allowed to have it. That's all. And then any passwords that for the computer? Um he I have no idea. But he would just write it out. So I'll ask him. Okay. You'll be contacted by a detective. Um I I don't know when. Um it could be earlier like later um this coming week. Any passwords? No. Okay, that's it. As far as anything criminal wise, that's not my determination. Okay. Um everything classified right now it's suspicious incident. That's we're going to classify it as cuz we don't know. We don't know. Yeah. Hasn't done anything on the computer. Um you'll probably be contacted. It really depends on their case load. Yeah. Um I I don't It could be next week, could be the week after. Okay. Like I said, if there's nothing on the computer of eval, they're just going to give it back to you and that's it. Um, again, that's not my determination. I'm not touch the computer. My job is to transport it from here to evidence and that's it. Um, I I write a report on what literally what happened here and that's it. Um, it's up to the detective to, you know, whether they want to pursue anything or uh, you know, kind of investigate it further. But, like I said, they feel like there's nothing on the computer, just we're going to come back and drop it off to you and that's going to be the end of it. All right. All right. Thank you. Um, if you guys need any questions answered or anything like that, don't hesitate to call. We'll try to clear things up as to you as best as we can. Okay. Um, with that being said, we'll get out of here. Okay. I appreciate everything. Okay. Thank you. Take care. You too. Okay. You swear and affirm that everything on the statement is true and accurate to best your knowledge. Yes. Okay. I guess I don't know what to do in this situation. I mean, what if he comes over and he wants to talk about it? Um, I was on the leave. Um, if you don't want him over here, um, I mean, it's not, like I said, there's never been an issue before. I mean, he's nice. I would advise just have everybody separated for right now for just everything that's going on. Um especially with your children. We don't know the circumstances. Okay. Right. That's the thing. Like he's five and he's like, "Oh, there's Billy. I want to go say hi." And I'm like, "You can't." Yeah. Just stay separated and look forward to a call detective. Okay. Detectives apparently did find what they were looking for on William's laptop as he was arrested and booked into jail over 4 months later on April 9th, 2024. He posted bond the same day in the amount of $7,500 and was charged with felony possession of sexual performance by a child. His pre-trial court date is set for June 18th at 1:30 p.m. His attorney must be working hard on this one because he just recently submitted a suggestion of mental incompetence to stand trial, which claims that William appears disoriented and supposedly cannot aid in the preparation of his defense. As a result, the courts ordered William to participate in a mental examination by a clinical psychologist, who will then testify in court and essentially determine whether William can be put on trial or not. It's a good thing his wife, Beverly, set the stage and diagnosed him with dementia without ever seeing a doctor for it. He's going to the doctor tomorrow. Perhaps William should show up to court with a hat that states undiagnosed, but I'm pretty sure he's got dementia. We want to give a shout out to the courageous neighbors who reported this incident to police and yelled at him a little bit. I yelled at him a little bit. I'm not going to lie. They were put in a very tough spot and surely did the right thing. Do you think that William deserves to be locked up for his heinous actions or will the courts find William mentally incompetent to stand trial? Be sure to leave your opinion in the comments.
