[Music] so I've been with the traffic unit for a year now I've been a cop with Coral Springs for three years I worked Patrol starting my career I'm also on the SWAT team I've done that for two years now and uh what I'm doing now is what I enjoy the most out of my job I love keeping the public safe on the public roadways it's just something that I have a really big desire for [Music] me it's a black Mercedes on the time strap Luke I am officer trying with Coral Springs police I stopped you because of the speed you were going 67 and a 45 and you just uh went straight in a right turn only lane to cut everyone off you can't do that either okay there's a reason why you're driving so fast he was going 67 miles an hour on a 45 and then once he got to sample and Turtle Run he was in the right turn lane instead of turning right like he's supposed to he failed to obey the traffic control device solid white lines cutting everyone off in the straight through Lane which makes us driving aggressive in manner all right sir I miss you two citations okay once for the speed and the other ones for aggressive careless driving you have three ways to take care of it you can pay it that's option number one option two is driving school which is fully online and the last option is traffic court whichever option you choose though you have 30 days to comply if you don't comply within 30 days the state will suspend your license okay my recommendation is if you need to use the bathroom there's a gas station right across the street but please slow down because you're going to get into a wreck driving like that okay all right thank you so the aggressive driving is part of the Traffic Unit we're specifically looking for a violation such as drivers going 15 miles or above over the speed limit following too closely and properly changing lanes such as rapid Lane changes Running Red Lights stop signs just things that uh someone does and they're more likely to get into an accident because of their driving behavior [Music] foreign thank you do you have your license on you your registration insurance do you have a license in Florida or no no right now no you don't yeah okay so again uh there's a driver with no driver's license that we just stopped for he was going 65 in a 45 mile an hour Zone so we're gonna run him and see if he's wanted or if he has any uh suspended licenses out of a different state and we're gonna have to dig into this a little bit all right sorry sir no I appreciate the uh what's my my State uh sometimes I I forgot to see the the speed limit yeah yeah you got to be careful yeah here's your stuff back I am issue two citations though okay okay one of them is Criminal okay which means there's a court date instead of me hang on one second instead of me taking you to jail you have a criminal court date that you need to appear to okay it's going to be September 19th of this year it's you have to go to the court date yeah you have to go to the court and sometimes for God the limit and yeah you got to be careful like I said yeah for me it's difficult to to know the speed for sometimes there's big white signs yeah with sometimes uh people don't give me passing there's the reason okay yeah it's my mistake sir I understand but you did pass a sign right before me I said 45 sorry it's okay look apology accepted I'm just letting you know I'm not trying to be you know argumentative or anything like disrespectful I'm just letting you know I don't know I don't give to doing this okay I appreciate the uh being so apologetic okay well speeding violation you were going 50 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour Zone your casa in Florida or no okay you have a Florida licencia I know do you have it yeah where is it okay fast in the process okay okay three one can I get a Spanish speaker okay so we just stopped this car for going 50 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour zone so it's a minor speeding violation however when I'm talking to the driver from what I'm understanding she doesn't have her Florida license so she lives here now she actually needs to have her Florida's light her Florida driver's license in order to legally drive in Florida it's actually a criminal violation I could take her to jail or I could issue a criminal citation so I'm we're gonna just find out a little bit more before I do anything I'm gonna have a Spanish speaking officer come here and they're going to help me out with this investigation so detecting the others backed us up and helps us with translation after we got more information it was determined that she does need a Florida driver's license so I issued you two citations for the uh criminal no driver's license and the other one was just for the minor speeding violation which I also I spoke to the driver and he told me that his stomach's hurting so I asked him if he needed Emergency Medical Services to come out here and he told me no it was just diarrhea foreign
