Welcome back to the Donnie Rapture channel, where I always bring you fresh, never-before-seen body cam footage. Today's body cam video takes place at Del Nor Wiggins Beach, Florida, and follows officers as they respond to a call regarding a man harassing a manatee. According to the report, the man was observed putting his feet on the back of the manatee and letting the manatee push him around in the water. Excuse me, are you guys with that guy in the hat over there? No? Okay. They're not with him. They're not with him. No, the guy right there swimming with the hat. His umbrella right here? It's following him. It's following him. No, no, yours are good. Sir! That's a manatee. How's it going? What happened? It wouldn't leave you? You weren't on top of trying to do anything with it? And it followed me the whole way, and then it started swimming full speed with the hat on me, and it followed me all the way over there, and then it got real shallow. Okay, so I was not going there. It was coming after me, and my wife was running out to be like, everybody's staring, and it swam right towards her too. Okay, so I was just like, all right, give me one second there for me. I'm lying on my back, and it comes, parallels me, and I'm just laying there staring at the sun, and it puts its nose like in my armpit. So, it's crazy. Did he sound like he was fucking with us? I mean, I didn't talk to the guy at all. No, you didn't talk to him at all. Look at me. So, it's here to search figures. You're documenting something, no matter what. Yeah, and he matches, the lady said he's been doing that all day long. Who said that? The one that called over, the one with the umbo over there. Okay, then yeah, go by that. Yeah, because they're just local stories, but we're going to document it. Sir, do you have your ID on you by chance? Is it here on the beach? Yeah, it's in the truck. It's in the truck? Yeah, I'll get your name. Did I do anything wrong? I couldn't get away from it. I know. Yeah, and we were inside of the buoy. Yes, you're in the buoy, but they did, another officer watched you for 20 minutes trying to get away, but you weren't making a real effort until we approached. No, I was trying to get away from him because I was getting uncomfortable following me for 20 minutes. Okay, and they followed him in and then he tried to, he was following him back out. Your first name? Okay, give me one minute. So, yes, you should. What did I do wrong? So, when I, I watched you for 20 minutes, man. Yeah. You're laying on your back, letting it push you along the way, and don't tell me you're not, because I saw you do it, and it's not up for debate. But I wasn't going after you. So, I was lying on my back, and you're letting it push. Why didn't you make any evasive movements? I was using my hands to push myself. You were, you were hanging out in that area up until we started coming out. What was I supposed to do? You have all this beach, man. I swam, and it followed me. Dude, I saw you swam here, and it did not follow you. It went over to another group and stopped. It followed me all the way up until it was that deep. It's not a debate. I'm telling you what I saw, and I saw it. It is what it is. It followed me all the way until it stopped. It's not a debate. I'm telling you what I saw. It went over to three other groups, and it made its way down. You see how far it is now? How come it didn't hang out around any of these other people here? Because it's too shallow. That's where it stopped following me, was where it got too shallow for it to come any further. That's where it stopped. I'm telling you. I'm telling you how it is, and it is what it is. That gentleman in the blue shirt will tell you what he saw, too. He saw the whole thing. Dude, I was watching you for 20 minutes. I saw the whole thing. I was there. It's not a debate. So, it's my word versus yours. I didn't do anything wrong. Where are you from? North Carolina. Do you have manatees over there? I have black bears in my backyard every single day. That's not what I asked you. Do you have manatees? No. So, do you swim with manatees over there? Do you swim with the black bears? No. Exactly. I don't understand what the point is. What did I do wrong? That's what I'm asking. So, really, what it is, it's a misdemeanor to harass. Listen. Harass? Listen. Harass is stated by disrupt, interfere, hang out. If anything, it was harassing me. I was lying on the water. But what effective moves, evasive moves did you make? With my hands, moving my swim slowly and gently. Dude, I saw you swim 15 yards toward us once we started pulling up. No. And then it came and then went on its way. I didn't know what you guys were doing. I thought you were giving them a hard time. Fact of the matter. Yeah. Fact of the matter is you swam in and it went away. After it got too shallow to follow. So, then why didn't you do that before? Answer that. Because I thought it was interesting that the manatee wouldn't leave me alone. Which they are. They are interesting. I did not go after it. I did not harass a manatee. Nobody said you were an anathema. I witnessed you lay on your back and let the manatee push you along. Am I wrong? What was wrong with that? It's harassing. That's harassing. Laying on my back in the water is harassing. And letting the manatee push you. Yes, it is. She was laying on his back like it was SeaWorld and letting the manatee push him on his back. Tell me you did not do that. My daughter, my 11-year-old was on her paddleboard and it swam under her and pushed the board. Did she harass a manatee? Do you want me to write her a warning? Do you want me to write her a misdemeanor? Why are you arguing? I don't understand what's going on. I didn't do anything wrong. I'm telling you, you did a lot wrong. It's not a debate. I'm not telling you it's a debate. I'm telling you what happened and what's happening. That's what it is. It's not a debate. It is what it is. I'm telling you. So, what are we doing here? The officer is handling your paperwork and then he'll get with you after. You said you didn't do anything wrong, so I'm explaining to you what you did wrong. By floating in the gulf inside of the Do Not Swim Pass buoys, I did something wrong. Did I ever say that? You can flay your hands all you want. I'm just telling you. I'm telling you what what happened and he's going to explain what's going to happen moving forward, okay? It's not a debate. I'm not here to argue with you, man. So, we are going to issue you a notice to appear for harassing a manatee. Do you have any questions about that? Yeah. Putting your body parts on it and letting it push you around falls under harassment. I was on my back moving my hands like this. Yes, ma'am. So, right now with this time of the year, it's right before we get our mid -summer rain, so the water is very clear and it's a low tide. It's calm and glassy, so it's normal normal behavior for manatees to be curious, but just like I said, there's nothing wrong with being curious and there's nothing you're in the water. There's nothing wrong with you being in the water. There's nothing wrong with it being in the water. The issue became it became an issue once you started the term harass, annoy. Harass isn't just saying like, oh, pushing up on us. That's not necessarily harass. Harass has in Florida statute 15 different descriptive words, meanings, synonyms, however you want to phrase it, under harass, and he fell into the category of harass. By not moving? Putting his legs on the manatee. He was laying on his back. Dude, I got it on body camera, man. Dude, I got it on body cam. Like you said, if you want to argue, that's what court's for. You can let a judge discuss that, but that's why he chose to write you the citation he did. It's not the end of the world. On your copy, it shows date, time, if for whatever reason you weren't able to make, I know you said you're from so if something happened with work or whatever and you couldn't make it, make sure you call that number because if you don't show up, then it gets elevated and that's when a warrant gets out. You don't want a warrant for a manatee. Exactly. So if there's any, I'm going to deal with it. Exactly. And I'm just explaining the route that he took. That's why he took that route. Okay. You guys have a good one. Okay. In the end, the man was given a misdemeanor charge for harassing a manatee. So if we've learned anything from today, stay away from the manatees. Even if they approach you in a designated swimming area, get away from them. I hope you guys liked today's video. If you did, be sure to hit that like button. And if you're not already subscribed, this would be the time to do that.
