on July 12th 2023 officers KAS and [ __ ] were conducting safety inspections on vessels at the ankot River Park boat ramp when a man walked past the officers expressing his discontent with their enforcement techniques oh boy this is going to be good he stated that the officers were blocking him from pulling his boat out of the water even though there were several other ramps available and guess what happened the officers proceeded to conduct a safety inspection on his vessel I don't want to hold you up you can grab it if you need it yeah thank you all right well tell tell you what just grab me one life jacket I see the type four throwable this individual that is uh blocking you he's actually on his way out he's not on his way in so you're you're actually in his way you know what don't antagonize me what's your name [ __ ] okay what's your badge we don't have badge numbers you don't have numbers no okay but do me a favor don't antagonize antagonize you what did you just say to me I just say it was a courtesy a courtesy to you or to that individual to anybody coming in and using this boat launch you you're coming in he's going out hey we're not done do you have a sound producing device you have to have my permission do you have to have a sound do you have a sound producing device for the vessel did you hear me I did I no I didn't hear you what did you say I said you only need my permission to do I need your permission to conduct an inspection yes do you have the sound producing device for the vessel sir I do are you going to show it to me why because I'm conducting an inspection you're not conduct inspection CU I don't allow you okay you don't allow it no all right so I tell you what we can do this the easy way or we can do it the hard way no here wait a minute I'm conducting a simple inspection sir I said I'm conducting a simple inspection and you're making it very difficult are you refusing my permission to inspect this vessel am I right is that a law that is incorrect that is a law that is incorrect you need my permission you do not I do not need your permission to conduct an inp Superior I do I do now sir you are going to turn this in that I'm asking for then I'm going to charge you for interference with an FWC officer do you understand I said sir do you understand what I'm saying 911 you're calling 911 y okay you're calling another law enforcement officer to come help law enforcement I'm not you're Florida Wildlife yeah state law enforcement let me show you here don't you don't have signal here all right sir I'm going to give you one more chance CU I see that you're frustrated you one more chance you're I'm an [ __ ] yeah you are okay so are you're pulling it out to show it to me now my flare kits all right let me see those there's my let me see that there see right there see it let me see it sir why I got to see if it's operational I'm not having you use it because once you use it it goes back do you have a horn on the vessel it doesn't work let me see the the sound producing device back instead of grabbing the sound producing device the man attempted to make another call for several minutes and I can't express how patient this officer is Sir do you have the registration on board all right thank you yeah they're expired sir sir is any fishing your Wildlife on the vessel just bait just bait yeah you mind if I take a look you know what I am file report see nothing let me I I didn't see in there sir what I I couldn't see see what I couldn't see in the cooler you will be okay yeah you can do that I'll even give you the proper number I'm taking a look in the cooler Hey where's the bait you said you had okay let me take a look at that okay right here all right I appreciate it if you want to go ahead and pull it out sir you can I'll be back to address the uh the flare issue okay do you have any questions for me no l my Cas I'll be back in just a minute if you need me to call somebody for you I can I don't need any the officers returned to the patrol vehicle and started to write up a warning for a sound producing device while the older man trailers his boat and Parks his truck then proceeds the walk to the officers and started speaking with officer Cas s be once oh yeah yeah yeah you have every right to report us um we're recording you too so it's that's good um yeah it's just going to take one second he's gonna print this out so if you just want to wait in the AC and we'll bring it to you might much printing out a warning for what not having a not having a a whistle or horn oh I showed him the whistling horn I got it on video and I plan on filing a complaint against this guy c c k name yes sir and I'm KAS C saw c n and you know how he got pissed off excuse my French but when you were doing that inspection on the boat and on the ring I said you know it might be nicer you guys did this up on the shore instead of on the boat watch and that's when he went so just so that you know that when I file that complaint has nothing to do with you you were perfect I watch you talk and interact with that other guy we're gonna try to get this going as quickly as possible no he's tight I okay so officer [ __ ] returns to his patrol truck to print out a warning due to a printer malfunction and then officer [ __ ] receives a phone call from officer kase informing him that the man had left the scene saying I'm not waiting he then advised officer kase to conduct the traffic stop so he could charge the man with obstruction of an FWC officer Hey sir do me a favor set your phone down no yeah I'm detaining you you're being charged criminally touch me you're being charged criminally for the FWC officer sir do not pull not pull away from me you're pushing me how can I pull resist me set this down I'm not setting it down set the phone down and stop resisting I'm not resing if you keep sir listen to me very carefully no you listen me very stop res stop resisting sir stop not messing around with you sir you're kidding me this could have been really easy but now you're going to jail yeah and Y got the biggest lawsuit you ever saw thank you ow that hurts get loosen it up man apologized for his actions revealing that he had just received some rather Grim news regarding his health he was then taken to the Pascal County Jail where he was charged with obstruction of an FWC officer and after checking out the court records it seems that this man has been given a pass he received pre-trial intervention and the case was closed as long as he attended anger management
