Stop. >> I'm going to taze YOU. TAZE. STOP. >> TAZE. GET DOWN. STOP. BRING YOUR HANDS OFF ME. STOP. STOP. ONLY CAMS provides body cam footage for transparency and educational purposes only. On January 20th, 2025, Pensacola, Florida. What began as a routine call to a Comfort Inn on North Davis Highway quickly escalated into a tense confrontation between deputies and a woman who refused to leave the property. Just after 12:40 a.m., a clerk at the Comfort Inn called the Escambia County Sheriff's Office to report a trespasser in the hotel's breakfast area. The woman, later identified as 35-year-old Jerica Laquida Tench, had been asked several times to leave but refused. When Deputy John Nemergut arrived, he found Tench sitting in the lobby with a cup of coffee. Um so, the business is wanting you to leave. >> this ain't business, it's a house. Can you move your arms so I can get in the car? Can you try to sit Can you move your Hang on. We're going to fix your cuffs so they don't tighten up on you. >> move your arms so I can get in the car? Move your arms so I can get in the car, listen. Move your arms so I can get in the car. Your mom, can you move your arms so I can get in the car? Oh, she looking at you. You have to sit. And there you go. I'm going to I'mma sit down. Yeah, whenever we we got her on the ground, while I was stalling, my shoulder was out of place. I went to pull my taser and realized that that's not going to work. This is multiple patty, so I went to go put it back and that's when she charged. Yeah, that's what I was kind of cuz I was kind of in your crossfire and I was like, crap, we don't need a taser. Yeah, but then she actually took it to you. I didn't think she'd do that. Well, I got hit in the face with a coffee cup and that's why I backed up a little bit. Battery Leo and trespassing. Okay. Um we still don't even know who she is. Yeah, I wasn't able to even get that from her. It was immediately she just bowed up to me. Cuz she went to walk past me, I grabbed her arm, said, "No, you're not getting any more coffee." and then she pushed off me, jumped back, went up both arms up. I took a step forward and she threw a coffee cup like directly at me and hit me somewhere in here. And then it was just all over from that point. I backed up, I drew my taser, told her I was going to taze her, realized she has like multiple layers of clothing, wasn't going to be effective, went to put it back and as soon as I went to put it back, she charged me, rammed into me. Is this something you wanted to go to a hospital now to get checked out? I'd rather be able to kind of play it by ear and reevaluate and then get checked out later. Uh I think I just want to take a second cuz I'm just feeling that tingling and like almost like a warm feeling right here in my forearm. Once secured, she was transported to the Escambia County Jail without further incident. She told deputies she wasn't injured. A supervisor later arrived at the scene to review the arrest. Jerica Tench was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, and trespassing after warning, all without bond. She was scheduled to appear in circuit court on February 14th. For deputies, it was a reminder that even a simple trespassing call can change in an instant. And for hotel guests that night, a quiet morning at a Comfort Inn turned into a scene of chaos and flashing lights. If you like content like this, please like and subscribe.
