[Music] on September 5th 2023 several FWC officers were on vessel Patrol in brard County while conducting a safety inspection on a vessel they had just stopped they observed numerous open and unopened alcohol containers in the vessel when asked about this the operator claimed they were his fathers by the way guys I put a lot of effort into correcting this video's lighting and approving its audio so go easy on me how you guys doing today awesome where are you guys coming from from uh Peanut Island Peanut Island okay how long are you out there for probably like 2 hours 3 hours like that all right got my fire no we didn't get Fs yet his dead in thing I didn't get an eye on it back m I have my right here can we move this I want to see what's in here yeah of course man I got you thank you as I got home he called me and said he was home y back to Dad's house got boat dad's did I do anything besides my dad stuff on the boat did I do anything wrong if you're operating the boat you're it doesn't matter if your dad your aunt uncle whatever took the boat you're operating this boat with open alcohol containers you're not nobody's 21 my dad they're consumed there's some that aren't consumed there's half bottles there's a lot of it on there so it doesn't yeah it doesn't matter at that point who had it before you I got you yes it's very it's very strong is anyone over 18 who's over 18 here all of us okay all of you guys joh my dad's number or anything like that uh we we'll address that in a second we'll see and you got you got to get your your safety equipment squared away too man that's that's not uh it's not cool it's not acceptable especially you've seen seem like you know exactly what you're doing on a boat you've been doing it for a long time you know what you need right you know so you got to make sure you get that stuff away especially if you're going to be um by yourself and doing that stuff I'm sure you know what you're doing but you got to have that stuff stuff happens really fast we've seen some some nasty things no one's got a shot I completely understand all right yeah I'm sorry about that I had I had the throwable I've always had a throw a last time y'all pull me over had a throw a but when I went to the Keys just flew yeah that's it's happened to me too you know so I won't say that's never happened to me um you got to keep an eye on that fire extinguisher too it's starting to get rusted it's still looks okay it's still good though right I just got this fire exting it's it's not it's not terrible but you're probably going to have to replace it soon um it's still though right yeah the expiration would be fine but all that rust around it that's not going to be serviceable soon and you're going to leave that up to the discretion of an officer and it might not fly for the next guy yeah for sure year ago or something like that $400 ticket for having an expired fire extinguisher uh so you it must have been if it was $400 it must have been multiple things yeah it was that and it was the life jacket same exact thing I will short one life jacket again got to start learning from these mistakes man yeah for real yes I mean I have like recently like ever since the bo bash incident like what happened in bab bash bab bash I had [ __ ] I made a stupid decision just a bunch of people out no bring a bunch of alcohol and stuff same what we're doing is we want to give him a a breath of light okay and see if he anything to drink all right so do you give us consent to do that because if if he refuses if he refuses it's also a citation requiring community service oh [ __ ] I mean where you guys at uh we just passed Hillsboro Inlet on thew can I meet you guys at the inlet yeah but I wanted to fill you in on the options now because we're we're starting to move forward so obviously Christ so th those are the two options either we get the consent for the breathalizer or we don't and he gets he gets cited for refusal Jesus Christ can I talk to him I'd like I'd like to get an answer from you first so if he refuses right now I can go pick him up well either way we're taking him to wherever he came from yeah we're not going to let him operate the boat yeah where he came from from the do so where yeah wherever the wherever he his house is wherever I guess your home uh we're we're taking him to there because he's got a boat um full of uh underage people we no we're we're on the icw right now so we're going to the house right right now I need to figure out um what steps we're doing to take going forward are we are we able to do the breathalyzer or are we going to do the refusal let's thinks let's I I don't want to make any decision with his mom I mean I'm pretty sure what she's gonna say but I want to give her the option we're divorced and I don't want to you know it's G to cause a big [ __ ] so we we are doing this as a courtesy call we don't have to call you for this we're we're calling this as okay so we were on that boat last night last night I've been I've been working on my boat today okay so what they left on there so when the LA when's the last time you on this boat likes to drink those uh freaking V Selzer water thingies I don't know she left any of those on there okay um so who who was on the boat that's if you don't drink that much who's on the boat that drank this much oh my my girlfriend Melle okay and who else you said some friends Michelle Mike and Carlos okay and this is and this is last night this is last night yeah we we went to the Slightly Stupid concert and we were hanging out the boat the coastal while okay and he call me by surprise today when he showed up say oh I'm G take the boat out like I said I was working on my boat I didn't I didn't even think about it I didn't think about it all right and um Can can you think of any other type of alcohol that would be on this boat no I can't okay all right so uh we we got to get it again this is a courtesy this is strictly courtesy we got to get consent if you'd like to go forward with this breathalizer or we're going to do the refusal it's it's one or the other I kind of would rather do the refusal just because you know I don't feel like without me being there you know what I'm saying I don't know I don't know I don't know what to do right now I understand I understand I understand I understand I get it that this this came out of nowhere um but just just the mere possession alone is already a criminal charge okay so we make that clear so obviously um moving forward whatever decision from there is is is going to be entirely up to you I would go with the refusal okay okay that's that's what I needed to know um do you want me to go pick them off what do you want me to do um stand by on that I'm anything to drink then obviously you wouldn't mind doing the breathalizer if not you can do the refusal each of them have penalties okay so if you do refuse it's a citation and there's uh 50 hours of community service involved with that as well okay um we are going to charge you for the possession of alcohol already okay because that's that that part is is unacceptable uh just sit tight for now and I'm going to get char some [ __ ] my dad did it it doesn't matter if you're your dad couldn't name the alcohol that was on the boat okay as and I caught what you did as soon as you're on the phone you let your dad hey I I tried to tell them that you forgot the alcohol you know this is this is what we do you did you you said it's all right we it's again that's either here or there I just I know what you were trying to do okay what do you mean by that by Say by giving them a heads up like hey this is what I said happened um we all know that's not what happened okay just don't don't don't insult our intelligence all right so fact tell the truth right now Tru and the fact that you you would even ride around on a boat like that just alcohol sitting like that and I'm sure you know better that you can't just have everything out like that no man I didn't expect and try like it's it's and E even if it still doesn't matter mere fact that you have all the alcohol and we can smell everything on theat and you're the operator and you've had you've had priors with this too right yes so where where do you think your credibility is understand you know what I'm saying there is none you know what I mean and it may seem like we're coming down harsh but it's for a reason people die over this stuff I'm serious so we're doing this for a reason so we are going to go with those and then we'll get you with docs right here and we'll get you going all right um do they have another rope I'm going to try to grab a rope I won't I won't lie it's it the way the way everything is going down is is completely unacceptable I mean the amount of alcohol there and I and I'll be I'll be frank I'm not buying the the the alcohol was left from other people there was some left I'm sure but like I said there's there's cold there's cold containers there's there's multiple things going on there's cold there's cold containers uh you were you didn't tell me the right alcohol that they had listen we'll just again it's neither here or there and it's irrelevant at that point the fact that there's that much alcohol while he's operating it's not fun it's not what we want to do it's not no I'm saying but even for me from our part It's not what we want to do but at the time of making this video the operator was charged with possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 and refusal to provide a breath [Music] sample
