Deshaun Davis was struck multiple times and later pronounced deceased at the hospital. While no officers were injured, a firearm was recovered at the scene after it fell from the suspect's hand as he fell. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation into the sergeant's use of force. So far, the officer involved, a 14-year veteran of the Columbus Police Division, has not been publicly named or charged, and the investigation by state authorities is ongoing. Um at this point, that would be a question for BCI. Suspect did, in fact, um have a gun as a gun was um located at the scene. There's an independent investigation. We don't know everything that the sergeant saw, may have been feeling, what he That's a That's going to come out in the investigations. Based on the investigation, if anytime this changes, we will identify that sergeant. The family of Tashawn Davis is calling for justice, saying his fatal shooting by a police sergeant was overkill. Tashawn Davis' stepmom and dad telling dispatchers the 18-year-old was acting irate throughout a night of underage drinking and partying near OSU's campus. My son just said that he was just like not himself and said that he was trying to fight a female and he said he told him, "Hey, I'm leaving you. I'm not on any riffraff with you." His grandmother, Rebecca Suttles, tells ABC 6 his behavior wasn't adding up. I didn't see any abnormal behavior at all um up until the day that he left on Friday. I understood that um his friends felt like he was a little off that evening. What's your response knowing that your grandson was involved in maybe some behavior that was alarming? I I'm just I just can't wrap my head around it um to think that he would ever even want to scare or harm anyone that he was raised, you know, you pull over for the police. This is not his character. Something happened if you know, I'm just speechless. I I don't even I can't even think of him as as being anything different than who he was. What do you think of the police action? Was it justified or was it overkill? Share your thoughts in the comments below. If you like content like this, please like and subscribe.
