Welcome back to the Donnie Rapture channel, where I always bring you fresh, never-before-seen body cam footage. Today's body cam footage is complicated. It takes place over two days, and we're going to meet some interesting characters along the way. The first of those being a guy named Captain Denver, which isn't his real name. We're first introduced to Captain Denver after he ran his yacht aground at Purpose Point. It was fairly clear early on that he had very little boating knowledge. He struggled with like basic knots, didn't know where to attach his anchor. So once the man was escorted safely to shore, the officers ran the boat through dispatch, who advised them that the boat was registered to a corporation. When questioned about this, the man explained that he had just bought the boat for $1 ,000, but didn't have a title, and no bill of sale was generated. When the officers told him that the boat was worth over $100,000, he stated that he bought the boat for $500,000. Pretty suspicious. I'll trade you. Hey, thanks, man. You couldn't get out through the stern, and you couldn't get out through the bow. We were like, oh, no. Thanks. You're welcome. Hey, man, if you want, we can put it all on the tailgate of my truck. I got a seat. I got a towel for you. It's better than the sand, let's do that. Dude, we get it. Your house is like in that condition. I just got it three days ago, and no one has helped. Like, the one person to help me. I'm just kidding, I don't even talk about that. Alright, let's go to the tailgate. I'm losing all my hard drives, my fucking computers. Just went through this last year, lost everything. Really? Yes. Damn, man. We're not doing it again. Just in case, brother. You want a towel? Sure. I don't know if you want to use that to dry anything off, or try to... Maybe in a minute. I got kicked out of my place, and then I gave a guy a lot of money, and tried to transfer everything, and it's just been... Because I came up with a career in business, but that makes sense if you just bought it. It was a... Yeah, that makes sense if you do that. That's all I remember him saying. You got 30 days to get it. I know, it's been three. It's been a fucking conundrum. And my dinghy is fucking floating somewhere in the universe. I already called it out on... On 16th. That's what happened. No, I came out of the inlet about... And where did my dinghy go? I came up... I was looking for my dinghy. It was low tide. It was about noon, 1 o'clock. That's when I got... I hit the sandbar, because I went down to the thing real quick to get something. And I was right next to the red buoy. And I passed it. I was like, that's close to it. It's doing what it's supposed to. And then all of a sudden, I went downstairs for a minute to go grab something, and I hit it. You know. Can you put it in neutral? It's off now in neutral. I mean, when you came out of the inlet and went down in the cabin? No, that was on autopilot. Oh, autopilot, okay. And then these guys tried to come get me a rope. A bunch of personal effects and some backpacks. Then we tried to pull up. Yeah, we got a little bit good. Yeah, just to let them know there's some stuff going on. It's above the high tide line. We just wanted you to go... Because it's all sealed up on the inside. We can't leave it here, because you can see as the tide comes in, out, in, out. I just need someone with a pump. We don't have a pump. I do on my dirigible that's floating. It should have went to the inlet. You can't miss it. So, the way the condition of this boat for another hour, you're not going to be able... There's not going to be a pump that's going to be able to... Can I take an anchor? Can you guys authorize me? I have an anchor and I have enough line I can just walk it out as far as I can and that way it'll start eventually. I'll walk it. I have 150 yards of rope. It's all ready to go. So, my concern is... What's your concern? I'm in the military. I give a fuck about the ocean. I care about your boat at the end of the day. That's my life. I don't want something to happen to you. Nothing's going to happen to me. I've been to fucking 9-11. Nothing's going to happen to me. It's not going to happen. I can't tell you that you can't do whatever you need to do to get your boat. That's all I need to know. I can tell you I'm going to be very not happy if we get a situation where you're not going to... I'm going to walk my anchor out. I understand. I hate everyone watching and no one's doing anything. And now it's almost completely underwater. Because our goal is to make sure you get off safely. I know. I was good. I'm not trying to say it. We didn't know that because we couldn't see you. I told the guy I was down in the water. My computer, my hard drive... Everything's underwater. At this point, everything is underwater. I would have sealed it a long time ago. Even if you pump it out, nothing is going to be operational right now. I know. So you're going to need a tow company to come take you in and take you back to... I'll figure out CTO. My phones are in there. I have CTO's number. I have Tow Boat's number. Can you hold them on the phone and I can talk to them? Because I have my credit card number right there. And that way it's all... My secretary... CTO. Are they cheaper? They're more pronounced as far as I know. Which one are you a member of? CTO is the one my secretary was supposed to sign up for two days ago or yesterday because I got it three days ago. Okay. Yeah. Well, maybe they'll... I'd go with that one because maybe they... It was just the weekend so maybe they haven't put... If not, I'll just take the credit card now and then whatever. I'm going to go walk the anchor out as far as I can. I'll swim it up. That way it's not... I'm going to drop all the buoys and start making it so it's floatable. I can bucket it out. That's what I was doing and then everything started getting wet. Dude, we couldn't see you. You were under there and... I got you. I understand. The last thing we want is you stuck in a hat. The last thing we want is that. I know. I kept hearing something. I'm like, yes! I'm putting shit in the fridge and sealing up fucking... We couldn't hear you. We couldn't see you because the waves were crashing. Oh, I know. They started coming over everything and I'm batting down all the hatches. People on the beach are yelling at us because they're like, he's in the cabin. He's going to die! At least I gave him a good show for the day. I was stuck out there for fucking hours. The guy you bought the boat from is not the guy that cut the anchor, right? No. I bought the other one from him because I was going to the yacht club to join and ask... I met the president or the commander or whatever she said her name was. Denver, you don't have insurance yet, right? I called my insurance guy but it was the weekend and he didn't pick up. Yeah, yeah. I can't even have fucking transportation. My motorcycle's transmission went out and it's stuck over there on A1A in front of the smoke shop. What's going against you is the tide is coming in so high tide here is at eight so in like three hours or something like that. Where does it go to? It doesn't come up here though. Uh, nope. I can go walk the anchor out of the... You know what I'm saying? I'm just going to take an anchor and walk it out. Hear me out, okay? So you're not interrupting me. Apologies. I can't tell you that you can't get off your boat. We got you off on land, okay? I'm not going to babysit you. I'm not going to babysit you. You're an adult. If you want to take the risk and go out and do whatever you've got to do... I will sign a liability consent form. If you want to take that risk, you're an adult, okay? But what I'm telling you is from my experience from my experience and this is not my first day on the job what you're about to do is very dangerous. You need to hear that, okay? I understand it's a boat. I understand all of your life is on that. The insurance is like limbo. It's like my car. I will not die. You got someone to help you? Nobody. Right now, these quotes you get from CTO from Towboat you think that's expensive. I know. I just know what I paid for it. If the state of Florida has to remove this triple that. I know because of the guy up in Jackson Beach that did that. I was there for that. Guess who is charged for the bill after? My corporation. Think about these things. I can't tell you what to do but I'm just telling you what happens. I gotcha. So if you if you decide that this boat is a lost cause and it becomes a state problem I'm just telling you. I'm not saying that you're going to do that. I'm just telling you what's going to happen if you do that. If this becomes a state problem you're going to get charged with what's called a derelict vessel which is a misdemeanor. I'm on probation right now. We're going to remove the boat and the bill is going to come to you. Is there fuel? Yeah, there's 2,000 gallons. 2,000 gallons. Both diesels are full. I think it's whatever's on there I don't know but they're full. That seems like a lot of fuel. I'm looking at it right now. What even model is it? I just know it's a 30 foot. You got twin diesels? I'm thinking like 1,000 gallons. Somewhere in the ballpark there's maybe 200. About 270. 270 total? You said it's full? Both tanks are full. I'm shooting a straight arrow with you. If you don't do anything with this boat you're going to have Coast Guard up your butt. I already got a phone call all concerned about the amount of fuel and stuff that's going to come out of this boat. Those are heavy charges. I know we've heard your history we know you've been arrested. What? Can you tell me when this shows up? The point of me saying that is that if you just leave this boat for us to take care of what happens is we issue a warrant. You're going to go to jail over your boat so get it taken care of. You already told me you were on probation anyways. I just got out of there from 60 days in I've been arrested 11 times in the last year and a half and I've been in Duval just fighting every gang member. The officers issued him two infractions one for having an at-risk vessel and the other for violating navigational rules. Later on the officers would run the registration through dispatch, locating an address and phone number. But nobody answered the phone or the door of the home. The next day the registered owner of the vessel contacted the officers, having no idea that the boat had sank. In this photo you can see the boat is half underwater and here you can see the damage the boat has sustained. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says this all happened as a result of this man. Officers arrived at her home where she stated that she did not sell the vessel to anyone and the vessel had been tied up to a private dock at Cortez Ave. It was also discovered that the boat had no keys, needing only to be started with ignition and battery switches. We know who he is. I mean it's just a matter of finding him. You'll find him. I appreciate it and I'll see you in a little bit then. Officers contacted Captain Denver's probation officer but was informed that his ankle monitor was currently deactivated but were able to provide the officers with the captain's mother's information. When the mother was contacted, she had stated that she had purchased the vessel from a man named Jeffrey stating that she wrote a check for $1,000. She provided a copy of the check as well as text messages showing the transaction for the boat. Using this information the officers were able to locate the man out in Mooring Field east of the Lighthouse Park ramp. Last night we got a call about a boat grounded on Fort Des Moines. Okay? Put me in it. Alright? We respond, make sure he's okay. We see that the boat is not registered. Okay? Okay? Who did he buy it from? He bought it from you. Which boat? NASA? That Lewis boat, yeah. He had a documentation to prove so. That I sold it to? That you sold it to. So you fabricated some information to him out of nothing. I still have the title. So we can go. We can walk down. You can see my post on Facebook. I'm only selling one of those guys. So we can walk down this road. Like I said. I shouldn't be talking right now. I apologize. This is a formality. I have all the evidence I need to proceed with whatever I see necessary. Do you feel that's what you really want to do? I'm trying to lay the cards out to you. Did I interrupt you? I apologize. No, no, that's okay. I can't ask any questions unless you I'm so confused right now. I can't believe you guys are even thinking that that's even real. Why can't you just go check? You verified the phone. Why can't you just go check and see that I don't own that boat? I've never owned a boat. You need to listen because I'm getting ready to explain it to you. Okay? That phone number that you just verified that belongs to you. Yes. Text messages. Yes. This boat right here. For $900. He had me lie to her and tell her it was Brent because he was like, you can't tell my mom. He doesn't even have a phone at this time. I'm being such a nice guy when I use my phone. And now she starts talking to me. Then he cusses at me and I call and I text his mom and I go, look your son is being a dumbass right now. He's going to have to leave. That's what I want to talk about. But I can't formulate a question unless you say I understand my rights and I wish to speak to you. If that's the case, let's clear that up. Do you want to talk to me? Yes, I wish to speak about it. So tell me what the text messages are about. Text messages? I had a group of text messages that occurred to me that was just me and his mom. The other text messages that I had were us talking with him to his mom. So it was him and his mom talking on my phone. And some of the text messages are him telling me what to say to his mom. Okay, because you wanted to buy that boat. And he can call his mom. So you own that boat. So you were going to sell that boat to him for how much? $900. But he agreed to pay $1000 for it and shook my hand, so he had to pay me $1000. For that boat? But he lied to his mom, put rent on the check and I said I'm not giving anyone this title until you come down to the DMV with me and I want you to sign this boat into your name because I know how this shit works. You guys are going to be frustrated. That makes sense, but you know there's always two sides to every story. So I heard his and that's why I appreciate you talking to me because I want to hear yours and I want to hear what you have to say about it. His mom came to the boat ramp and wrote me a check. She put rent on the check. For that boat? For this boat ramp. And there was no way for me to do anything with him because he wouldn't tell me his name. How am I going to sell a boat to someone without his name? I've got to fill out a title. Plus I said you've got to come with me to the DMV because I've got to make sure this goes in your name. I'm definitely not going to trust you with my boat because I've seen how careless he was in the first afternoon of meeting him. No, that makes sense and that jives because the boat that is sitting on Porpoise Point right now is in the value of $120 ,000. So the fact that you would sell him a boat for $1,000 I'm good with that. I appreciate you talking to me and clearing that up. How did he get to that boat? I have no idea. Like I said, it looked like he just got on it and I feel like this is what happened. I feel like someone at the conk house got in the boat and they have to have been to that boat or checked it. I would go to the conk house and see. Because I feel like he was drinking at the conk house and got to a boat and the keys were, you just start that thing up and it'll go. Because you don't even need keys. That's why I had him downstairs because it's got the flip issue. So you can get in that boat and just turn it on. I don't see how he can get out of a slip boat. He did not know how to drive. How do you know that? Because he had me driving from there to here after us talking on the boat back for quite a while. Did he mention anything about that boat? I was pumping him for questions about it. He said that he just bought the boat. I said, what did you get it for? He smiled and looked over at me. He didn't have a good deal or something like that. He wouldn't tell me anymore. Then I just watched him and how he's never been on a boat before and he said things about being homeless. I just said all this crazy stuff up and down. I'm like... I said like this. Do you know the markers in the channel? He's talking about going to Jacksonville on this thing at night. I'm like, you gotta get out of here, bitch. After obtaining sworn witness statements from the man, they received a phone call from the captain's mother stating that he was at the conk house marina. I don't feel safe. I just talked to my mom. She said, I stole the boat. I said, the fuck I did. I won Carlos Martinez. I had the bill of sale. We're not going to talk in front of all these nice people at this establishment. My mom said, I'm going to prison. I was like, no the fuck I'm not. I have $888,000 missing now. Would you like to tell me where that went? Does anyone have a lighter? No. Alright, let's go walk back this way. I feel like I'm going to be detained if I go that way. You're not going to be detained, but I'm not going to... We don't have permission to talk down. I'm not going to... You were pretty friendly with me last night. Yeah, but now circumstances are a little different. I just talked to my mom to tell her... What did your mom say? You stole the boat and you're going to prison. And I go, the fuck I did. I'm Carlos Martinez. This was the guy, some Mexican guy. He said he was from Miami. He showed me the boat. He showed me the paperwork. I signed my name on the tag that was in the red thing that's inside there. The question I'm asking you is, how did you procure this boat? I talked to a guy. He was standing right about there, maybe there. I was like, what are you doing? So we started a conversation. I go, I'm interested in getting a yacht. I've been kicked out. I'm homeless again for the fourth fucking time. And he's like, well, you want to look at one? It's for sale. So I was like, okay. So we went and walked. He punched a code in. And then we fucking saw this... He walked me on this thing. And I was like, okay. So then I left and fucking called some people. We got some extra money and some other stuff that my mom doesn't know shit about. She's like, you don't have any money. She doesn't know what I own, what people owe me for money, and who owes me money. So some guy named Juan Carlos... Martinez. He said he was from Miami. At 3 o'clock in the morning. Mexican. About 5, 6... None of that came up in conversation yesterday. Because it wasn't... I mean, I'm trying to save a boat. What day was that that you bought the boat from Juan Carlos Martinez? 24th. Because it's signed in the instruction thing. The thing inside there. Because I wrote, purchased... All right, put your cigarette down, please. Don't let her pick it up. Put it in the back of my truck, please. Why, am I being detained now? You can pick your cigarette up and put it in the back of my truck. Oh, I feel like you're going to arrest me. Back of my truck. Can't find your back. This time you're under arrest for... Grand theft. I didn't steal the fucking yacht. I mean, I can't run, but I mean... Don't run. I would rather be detained than fucking shot. Like, I'll reach for your gun so you can fucking shoot me. Don't do that. Just hand behind your back. I'm going to give you courtesy and give you two cuffs because you have wide shoulders. Thank you. Because my shoulders dislocate when I'm arrested. I have both of those broken from Miami police. Are you stupid? I'm done talking. I don't need to talk anymore. I just need you to get in the truck. So you just wanted to put me on camera. So I... I stole it. I hope you guys liked today's video. It was an absolute pain in the ass to put together. If you did, make sure to hit that like button. And if you're not already subscribed, this would be the time to do that.
