doesn't do anything on a quiet night in hitter doll an 18yar old driver faced a nightmare on the road well this is going to sound absolutely crazy but so we've been having problems with my car we took it to the shop cuz we had an incident where the accelerator stucked and it went stop well my son is driving the car currently cuz I'm in The Loner car and he is going down County 17 can't get the car to slow down or stop and he's going about 80 80 M hour it was September 17 an 18-year-old Sam ducher was driving his Honda Pilot near Fargo when without warning it started accelerating uncontrollably Sam tried everything hitting the brakes pulling the E BR putting the car in neutral but nothing worked all right we're going to try and get up there a little bit for you okay but when you so when when you hit the neutral button nothing happens and when you hit how do you uh is it a push button push button start okay can you just uh push the push button Minnesota state trooper Zach gr was on duty when he heard the call Sam's Honda Pilot was barreling down County Road 26 reaching speeds of 113 mil per hour with no way to stop it still there Sam it doesn't shut off okay all right well we're going to try and get up there um I'm going to leave you on the phone while I'm driving okay okay um one second trying think what what caused it to start like that do you have any traffic in front of [Music] you okay all right we're trying to get up there but we're a little ways out okay all right I'm just going to have you on mute here while I'm driving all right I've had them try and shift it to neutral driveing I've tried El so get push button to stop it but it's uh not allow I get this or turn it off that's what he said um I'm wondering if we can get him just did The Brak and just lock it up I know it's going to get hot but we at least got to get this thing stop before it get 32 yeah I agree I'll see what I can get do here I'm moment know I'm going to one6 and pleas take TIR off so that should down make sure hit something all right Sam you still there have the what we're going to try and do is so he's not we're going to uh put some stop sticks out in front of you so the tires get popped so so what I need you to do is when we get them out there I want you to run them over on purpose okay um that we're going to try and get him at Highway 9 but I don't know if we're going to get there in that time but um what uh so when you hit the brakes obviously nothing's happening if you hit the brakes nothing happens okay what if you hit the brakes and hit that neutral button okay all right um okay well I'm going to try and uh we're going to try and get some people in front of you to get those Stop Sticks okay but I'll let you know the 73774 Y me you the [Music] C so the trooper is going to try and pass you okay yeah we're going to try and get past you and get those sticks put out but like I said we're going to I'll keep you up to date on it okay 37 how much gas do have left what do you have left on your gas one the I'm going to be coming up right behind you but 37 trying to hit that e bra and it won't do anything corre e bra doesn't do anything said it slows them down 2 mil hour that's H um go for all right Sam what I want you to do is I want you to let your car go into the back of that trooper's car and he's going to hit the brakes so he's going to try and slow you down okay we going to have to see what happens hey [Music] Central 74 1066 checks we trying to get the stop 29 I'm going to be pulling up next to you I'll try to get in front of you to add a little extra breake power I think the forward Collision isn't letting them hit me we're slowing down 10 if uh hold them hold them first upop are we good 10 still need 600 [Music] clear oh that hit hard that was like it was slowing down slowing down and then it wasn't motorcycle that yeah there was it was and that's some like there's a like called County Ro 17 outest and I was like on 22 it's probably over there and all a sudden thew pass me at like 90 something that's got to be the one yeah I'm glad you guys were in the area it's good thing we had a charger I don't know if CU I mean he was doing I was going under 13 caught up to him he was 114 and I'm like Sam was unharmed and no other drivers were injured during the incident Minnesota state patrol spokesperson Sergeant Jesse gybo praised everyone involved highlighting how each step of the response prevented a potentially fatal crash Honda released a statement expressing relief that the situation ended safely they emphasized the importance of a detailed inspection of the vehicle and asked the family to reach out directly it's caught on a dash camera near Fargo show The Unforgettable minutes as a teenager's vehicle malfunctions and begins to accelerate out of control yeah at one point that car topped out at 113 mph but then a quick thinking State Trooper saved the day I had the initial thought that my kid was probably going to die Sam on radar uh at 113 Sam was almost out of time as the Honda approached a fork in the road I wasn't going to let him go off the tea at 113 mph I truly believe um Sam would have died
