on January 1st 2023 at approximately 2:29 a.m. officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash upon arriv Ral officers observed a silver vehicle had struck the rear end of a parked vehicle the reporting caller did not witness the accident he did observe the female in a leather jacket sitting in the driver's seat you guys okay yeah okay yeah you are you heard or any anywhere or anything no when there's no traffic cck I have to do this um some things so say I say I just pulled you over um you didn't get in an accident I just you just committed a a minor traffic violation and I just pulled you over um I would have had some discretion there if I thought you were under the influence I could have just had you um call for a ride let you go I wouldn't have I could have I I could still obviously for Dy but I wouldn't have to but since there was a a actual crash involved I didn't have a choice you crashed into a car then you lied to me and say told me you weren't driving um and you uh showed several signs of impairment during standard field sobriety test so you're under under arrest for driving Under the Influence at this point in time so now we get to sit here for 2 hours and do paperwork because this is what you chose to do tonight okay that's fair yeah that's fair what about my friend Megan yeah like where she at she you already asked me that good I well she hit her head yeah she's bleeding I know yeah so what about um Megan she was getting checked out by an ambulance her head she wasn't going to go to the hospital and then we left so I don't know I don't know where she's at now I imagine she she said she was going to call your mom so don't know if that's what you wanted her to do or not but she said that's what she was going to do so probably think I'm so bad like I'm just do you have anything in your mouth no okay so now we have to wait 20 minutes um sit here for 20 minutes and then Lieutenant Scott's going to come in and he's going to ask you to provide a breath sample into that machine and then we finish the paperwork um you have a valid driver's license so what we do is we take that as Bond okay okay and then hopefully we can get you out of here after all that's done okay cool have you ever been arrest for DUI before no I have not all right so how old are you I am 23 23 okay so I want to be clear to you um this this happens but this don't let this happen again okay I know not going to lecture you I'm just saying that you're kind of kind of um acting like this isn't a big deal and it is I'm not saying it's not a big deal okay I'm not what I'm saying at all okay so I just want you to understand the circumstances and it could have been a lot worse obviously you so rude I thought we could be cool this whole time but you've been rude I officer dry said that she was picked up by Mom I don't know if that's her mom or your mom so um they were going to come here afterwards but they have to wait outside for you they can't come in here so after we're all done with this you'll get to call them and then um they can come and it's a whole thing KY anybody KY yep I'm Lieutenant Scott so this machine doing a couple tests and then it's going to have you blow into it I'm put this mouthpiece on there okay when it says please blow and want you to take a deep breath and you're going to blow like you're blowing up a balloon okay okay you'll see you'll see a little line appear when you start blowing and it'll be moving that direction just keep blowing harder and harder and harder and keep that line moving that way until it accepts the sample okay if you don't like if you stop breathing and take a breath it's going to reject it it won't have to do it over again so you just want to take a real deep breath and just deep breath [Music] this copy I'm given to you this is your receipt to drive this is going to serve as your driver's license for the time being for 46 days okay so in the like my driver not valid it's suspended so again it's in this paperwork that I read to you okay um read it again tomorrow when you kind of sober up okay um and in here it also said you can contest this obviously so um but as of right now the 46th day from today uh you will be suspended and this says for a minimum of 6 months okay hang tight we're not done not not quite done yet okay that's sorry we're close the car you were driving yeah um you totaled it I totaled it no way your airbag went off that's so dramatic hey Mom um can you come pick me up at the jail house oh you're here oh okay well I'll see you down there okay bye I love you after completing breath alcohol testing the suspect was charged with driving under the influence and improper laning usage on March 9th 2023 a guilty plea was entered for driving under the influence and the improper lane usage charge was dismissed she was sentenced to 12- months supervision 100 hours community service alcohol treatment and must pay $ 2,683 in fines and fees
