away what you did what what where is she stop it stop it Rachel call Imagine arriving at a crime scene where a female suspect chopped off her boyfriend's head what do you think you'd find well get ready because in today's episode we'll explore cases when cops made the worst discoveries of their lives TR TR 31 s85 s85 someone shooting right out the door upstairs we'll start today's episode with a chilling account of the San Jose shooter at around half 6 on the morning of May 26 2021 the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office responded to an active shooter call guys okay are you okay they're up on the whoever it is is on the third floor he's on the third floor correct the shooter was located at 101 West younger Avenue in San Jose and the deputies were immediately dispatched to the scene it's horrifying to watch the footage of officers carrying the victims out of the building and on the other side of the building the deputies were trying to locate the suspect okay yeah I got that white hat that was the metal flooring you got up high hold this door hold this door hold this hey I'm holding that top hey give us another unit over here Serge come over to here sge hey behind get behind that engine block over there hey hey oh behind that engine block hold that door y let's move yeah I got a rifle you want me to go at 6:37 the deputies arrived at the location which was the Valley Transportation Authority just 1 minute later they notified dispatch that shots were being fired then as they were approaching the door they saw someone getting out hey we need access to these doors hey get your hands up hey all right hey all right here on your head everybody stand by what do you got okay okay come back are you able to open that door for us am give me your key card where's your key card at come behind me behind we'll take it we need a luckily the man was a VTA employee who notified them that the suspect was armed with a handgun he probably didn't know at the time that the asylon was his coworker a man named Samuel James Cassidy I'm hold close go I'll s it all right I'm going swing it up you ready yeah I'm clear right okay I'm clear right guys push up keep in mind that these guys aren't soldiers or the SWAT team they're deputies and even though they've had weapons training and have prior experience in law enforcement this situation was more like a war zone than what they were normally used to hey we need that key card over here bro all right I'll push you guys okay yeah which one you need conference room he okay I got somebody down in front of got there 56 maybe let me see your hands as the deputies burst into the next room they knew the shooter had to be close by the shots they just heard sounded very close even though the danger was palpable they had to act fast because innocent lives were at stake all right all right hold right hold on hold on hold on they got that stairwell Sheriff's Office Sheriff's Office Sheriff's Office holding this y he's in watch confirmed that he passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the Head sadly he took nine innocent lives with him as he went on this senseless Killing Spree our next case started when a business owner noticed that his worker 32-year-old Amberly Harris hadn't shown up in days the reason for my call is we have an employee that has not reported to work in almost a week do have reason to be concerned 31 out of service I like it's Windows is Amberly here Amberly she passed away what you did what what I okay hold on come here where is she put put your hand back watch inside what 26 hold Channel hard more units okay you're you have any weapons on you as the officers apprehended the suspect others rushed into the house they were probably hoping that the man was talking nonsense and that Amber Le might still be alive Independence please make yourself know independ police make yourself know independent F make S no go3 watch your footing watch your footing the apartment was a mess trash and debris were scattered all around as if the couple had a raccoon infestation but the bigger problem on the officer Minds was the Dead Silence they encountered as they shouted out commands here huh clear Independence Police here make S known make known go oh she's down what she down make sure you're watching where you're standing and don't touch anything yes sir oh my gosh when when did you do this no one else is in here no keep them coming sadly the victim was found lying on the floor with a gunshot wound the officers proceeded to search the house and soon found the murder weapon but the question on everyone's mind was why would Tommy do this what made the man shoot his girlfriend we're going to go in the back side other side my man tight little too tight hold on a second just take a seat I'm GNA leave this door cracked you good do you need a squad or anything to check you out all right do you want to tell me what happened here fighting she trash [ __ ] again what made you lose control are you okay So when you say you lost control what do you mean what'd you shoot it with 30 20 gauge go ahead so was a shotgun you shot her with hey I got get my body camera you guys need anything from the office at this point I don't believe so all right Tommy you okay right now 73 I'm going to keep my eyes on you but I'm going to roll down this window a little bit all right so not only did this guy shoot his girlfriend with a shotgun probably at Point Blank Range but then he left her lying on the floor and kept collecting her benefits naturally the officers started questioning his sanity you know what today is right now how long you been inside the house for three or four days have you left the house or anything three to seven there's no one else at the office you been in shock since yeah you you don't know what today is though you know what month it is who's the president mirand him he's been Miranda mirandize him see if he'll give you consent to search on the body Cam and if he gives you consent we can Pro you can process um and then I don't know I mean by whoever I don't know if they want trying or whoever to come take him back you they want well they'll probably want to take him back and interview him Tommy do we have to search your whole house yeah the officers were cleared to check the house but nothing more was found except trash in the meantime the suspect was taken to the precinct and just as they were about to interrogate him he started getting sick we're going to walk into the office and we're going to get in a room real quick all right pass out do you know where you are right now independence what okay do you want to go to the hospital so they can see what's going on with you please it later turned out that just a month prior to her death the suspect had taken out a death and dismemberment policy worth $220,000 in amberly's name he named himself as the sole beneficiary looks like this crime was more premeditated than Tommy would have us believe in the end he got life behind bars on March 4th 2024 a family faced the worst possible situation their Dodge Ram truck was stolen with their 2-year-old still inside the father was foolish enough to keep the pickup truck running while he ran inside a Dollar General Store when he realized the truck was gone he called the police you have a name yeah probably in the chat hey he might be in this tapt he might be in the tap tap all these people outside here house checking [Music] up this T the truck's right there hey guys let's get somebody on the west side of I he said he walked this way but they're they're claiming he's not down here give me a they nobody walked down there right listen here's here's the deal here's the deal that guy just kidnapped his daughter okay the daughter's in the car so it's kind of a big deal that's why everybody's here I put on my kid life where'd he go though i' had to have been that way I wasn't paying attention I was talking to my Grandma let's get to a let's get perimeter on the Lily dad's phone was still in the car enabling the officers to track the vehicle The Unlucky thing was that his wife rically called his number at which point the thief SLK kidnapper realized that the gig was up so he decided to bail still the officers knew the approximate area and got there as fast as possible a please come out hey I can't see over there I can't see want inside come out now with your hands up hands up now we got mail coming out to your right see how many people are in here still any white males in there no [Music] this not related to this while these officers were inadvertently scaring the B Jesus out of these innocent people their colleagues managed to apprehend the suspect in an area he was known to frequent he was later identified as Larry Spence the officers quickly left the building but not before apologizing to the employee got you guys going s about all that you guys are good the Amber Alert did you get on your phone well he was back here that's why we thought that he came in here backing [Music] camera luckily the toddler was found unarm chilling in the back of the pickup he probably didn't even realize what was going on but he just had the right of a lifetime and just narrowly escaped danger what's your name Buddy what's your name you don't know your [Music] [Music] name let me get you out huge savings with my find your my personality and trans you're okay you want to get out you want to stay in your car seat I'm a police officer I'm here to help minutes is hold on let me turn this radio down langage but you are in weeks you're able to start having looks like the radio must have been soothing for the little boy because when the officer turned it off the kid got nervous and started crying maybe Law Enforcement Officers don't get much training in how to deal with kids so let's see how the cop handles this situation it's okay buddy it's okay you're all right you like check down sometimes a hugs all a kid needs to feel soothed and calmed down also of course a dinosaur book might come in handy okay here let's look at some books yeah I 45 back ho you got some books here hopeing come back down this way well I think it's safe to say this adorable kid stole the show as for the suspect he was apprehended without saying a word he was later charged with kidnapping abduction and Grand Theft of a motor vehicle charges to which he pleaded not guilty while the previous Discovery could be more likely described as cute and not too scary this next one will surely send shivers down your spine our next villain someone you'd never want to meet in person hey um is this blood does this look like blood to you how am I just tripping bloody footprint you see this right here could possibly be hey who did that hi hi Taylor how's it going officer with the police department just make sure you got on what you just saw were cops approaching the residence of Taylor sh business she suspected of killing her boyfriend Shad tirion after inspecting her vehicle Taylor stepped out of her apartment with blood on her hands and clothes your no on your hands okay yeah we're going what apartment what apartment are you went do up on the double which apartment one one is what they came back to go go go go go guys hurry get here now watch this window right here watch this window right here go in here go in here come to the back of the apartment that's where we are you come over here two more will be fine if uh 84 is here up contact the a seat SE the prime suspect is secured but the officers still don't know how many people are involved is in the apartment be straight up Toms just TOS is the arm nobody's armed nobody's armed you sure I'm sure [Music] [Music] negative we got it up [Music] here it's disturbing how calm this woman is her cold gaze is like Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs at this moment she's on trial and the footage you just saw was part of the court proceedings let's see what the officer had to say about the encounter having reviewed that uh video do you recognize uh the video that was depicted yes was that consistent with the uh body camera warrant footage that uh you were wearing on February 23rd yes uh i' move exhibit 81 any objection no received um so I want to ask just a few questions then officer um there's an earlier part in the clip where uh you had noted some area of suspected uh blood is that right that's right and and what do you recall observing it looked like a a couple drops of blood in front of the vehicle along with a footprint that was within or that Encompass one of the drops and I guess was that pointed out to other officers who uh were on scene yes um you mentioned then uh the the lights of the vehicle were activated and sort of flash is that right yes and then about 10 seconds later Mr business exited the apartment yes um at the end of the video you're uh where were you walking um Misha business to I was uh walking her to my patol car and um was she I guess put in the the back of the squad car yes she was was there any like further questioning or anything done at that point the only question I asked M shabes was if she knew I were there as the lawyer keeps interrogating the officer the camera pans to the suspect her head is down but she doesn't seem to be bothered with what's going on again she gives off an eerie Psychopathic Vibe similar to the night of her arrest uh when uh you got to the greay police department uh what further steps did you take uh we placed her in interview room three I believe where I had officer Kenny assist me with taking photographs of what looked like smeared blood on her hands and on her clothing I also had her remove some or the sweatshirt that I that had what appeared to be blood on it as well as her socks and her shoes um and then uh was another officer requested to assist with the further removal of some clothing I believe after I left the room there was another officer that might have been asked to assist with removal of some additional clothing so that M shabes could get uh temporary clothing because we wanted all our clothes as evidence uh the the clothing items that that you took um did those um stay within your custody and control yes finally she moved at one point it looked as though she was fast asleep it's incredible that a person could be so calm since their entire future hangs on the outcome of this trial it just goes to show that there's something deeply wrong here the uh the commands that uh or requests that you were giving missa business um was she in that time following those yes she was was she in some instances responding appropriately yes she was in in the context your questions and commands yes she was for instance uh did you ask you know if there was anyone else in the Residence at that point I didn't ask her did she provide a response she did uh and was there a person located in the apartment yes there was then it was the defense lawyer's turn to question the officer but even at that point the suspect showed no interest in the proceedings it looked like she was just bored to death so you were um asked to go directly to 232 excuse me 2350 3 Eastman Avenue on February 23rd of 2022 correct yes who who asked you to go over there I was dish P year and Sergeant Breer also instructed me to go there Sergeant Breer yes okay did you go by yourself several other officers were sent to uh the location and what was the purpose of you going over there the purpose of me going over there was to relieve deputies that were on scene along with assist with the uh overall incident were you going over there to look at a vehicle or talk to people or what do you know I was tasked me and other officers were tasked with locating a person who was last seen with the victim as well as looking at the vehicle as I described earlier okay so you were asked to go and see if you can make contact with Taylor shizas correct hey have you been involved in uh death scene or homicide scene investigations prior to uh this particular situation yes the full story of this crime is chilling beyond belief shab business apparently killed her boyfriend in his mother's basement dismembered him and then left his body parts throughout the house and in a vehicle she was caught because the man's mother found her son's head in a bucket she business was sentenced to life without parole we've seen several different kinds of suspects so far one of them was chilling with the dead body for days and the other apparently chopped off her boyfriend's head but this next one's completely different he did a terrible thing but his guilt drove him to call the police and confess his crimes go on man I just wanted to that I did a long time ago okay a long time ago yeah or today a long time ago well what is that I buried him in his house house we're at okay on Fifth Street what's the address I don't know you don't know no sir how' you get up here you walk yeah this is a long time ago is what he say I'm just tired of covering it up already you try to cover it up yeah okay I'm tired of living with my wife sir the guilt yeah okay this is him do okay you're all sweaty did you run here or no I drink oh you drink oh that water right there know okay all right this is probably not the situation cops are used to see usually perpetrators run away and hide from law enforcement but this guy seemed relieved that they were there to arrest him he could be telling the truth or he could just be mentally ill so the officers need to check if what he's saying is true would you show me where it's at what if I took you would you be willing to show me where it's at I have right now well that will be know where the let's go you want to finish it you're good there all right Tony Tony it's your birthday his it have a seat okay I'm roll the window down for you dude what hurts myups okay we we're going to get Mafia right now we're going to go this way so what's your name I want to speak you don't want to speak oh okay I told you my name why' you ask me I'm just trying to start a conversation man okay my T Tony yeah I with I'm sorry I've been drinking you've been drinking yeah okay it's my understanding you called us the C you want those off yeah the guy gu irritated when the cop asked his name again but quickly apologized saying it was the alcohol talking that's probably one of the reasons the officer started doubting his story could he really just be drunk do you want to be here yeah I confessed to a murder okay how much have you today a lot a lot yeah well when you find his body do it'll make feel better Z's house that'll make you feel better yeah okay I don't want to live withmore okay I understand that all right well um understand you're you're willing to Jesus yeah it's my understanding you're willing to take us to the house yeah did it happen at the house it did it did I was I was on meth really bad okay and I killed him because he didn't give me no money and I buried him in his house in his house do you remember his name his name was Bill name was everybody talks about it all the time okay how long go I don't know you don't know too long too long don't say don't kill nobody that you don't have to after getting mirandized Tony was taken to the alleged crime scene once there he kept changing his story and saying he didn't remember which made the officers doubt even more whether what he was saying was true uh that here uhhuh him right there okay like in the little building yes sir saying pretty much all the way back is where you're buing them inside the [ __ ] yeah inside this little inside of it here's the deal brother we need some more details all right what do you want to be able to prove it okay so let's start at the beginning okay what year do you think this was I don't remember how old do you think you were I don't remember what does the victim look like what did I don't remember what do you mean you don't remember I don't remember I just know that I killed him why do you know that because I know that I K him kept it a secret okay why did you keep it a secret cuz I didn't how long you been keeping it secret for how long time like how long I don't know like 7 years maybe yeah you see how all your answers are I don't know the officer has every right to be suspicious Tony however seems to be honest and if he really was heavy on meth it's plausible he doesn't remember when the crime took place I was high and I didn't okay what were you high on meth meth smoke it or shoot I shot it shot it how much did you use a day a lot a lot are you still using no sir no that's probably why I'm confessing so why would what was the reason that you killed him I don't have a reason you didn't have a reason so were you guys arguing no I just felt stupid one day I guess you just felt dumb what was he doing when you killed him being good it's obvious that the guy is being tormented by his crime but no matter how sorry he feels now there's no excuse for taking an innocent man's life back at the station he was given some food and then questioned again and the officers still weren't sure if he was telling the truth okay how did you do it do you not remember you want to say it I just don't want to talk anymore okay okay well it's off your shoulders now man how about this one why don't why don't you tell me why you decided to come forward because my heart hurts okay he's been eating at you for a while yeah okay I know this is probably the a a big hard decision you had to make you been thinking about it for a while every compared to that psycho woman who dismembered her lover this guy seems like a decent guy who just did some terrible while on drugs but like we said there's really no justification to take the life of an innocent person later the officers did find the victim's body just as Tony said he was sentenced to
