Most people understand that driving is a privilege, not a right. So, they do their best to follow the rules of the road to ensure that everyone gets home safely. >> Thank you, sir. >> You're a very good person. >> Turn the around the ground. Turn around the ground. [Music] Get on your back. >> But some people think the rules don't apply to them. >> You guys want to take my crown? >> Why it is? >> No one wants to take your crown. >> And when they risk the safety of others, that's when dumb drivers are confronted by police after reckless acts on the road. Come on. I'm going to pick you up again, Julie, like I did last time. >> Do it. >> Okay. >> I like that. >> I bet you do. [Music] >> On August 8th, 2023, police officers were on the hunt for a silver Subaru with front end damage after it committed a hit and run at an intersection. While searching the area, officers got a new report that the same vehicle had pulled into a homeowner's driveway. When the driver tried to leave again, the homeowner called it in, alarmed by the erratic driving. [Music] >> Stop the vehicle. Stop. Stop. Put the vehicle in park. >> Of course, sir. >> Step out of the vehicle. Step out of the vehicle. >> Of course. >> Shut the vehicle off. Uh, >> of course, sir. >> Step out of the vehicle. Of course, sir. >> Okay, step out of the vehicle. >> Um, of course, sir. >> Get out of the vehicle now and I'm going to assist you. Come on, let's go. >> Of course you can assist me. >> Of course you can. >> Come on. >> Just for right now. >> Just for right now, you're being detained. Okay. >> Um, okay. For what? >> One, for my safety. Two, we're trying to investigate something that's already happened. Okay. >> Okay. Why are you hitting me? >> Huh? You're detained at this time. Okay. You're not under arrest. >> It's safe to say that when the suspect, Julia, opened her mouth, the officer was more than a little suspicious that she was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. After detaining her, he escorted her to his squad car so he could continue his investigation. >> Not sure if you remember me, but we've been here before. >> Yes, we have. I'm just going to have you have a seat. >> Am I being a chusive or what? >> You're going to have a seat real quick in my unit. >> Go ahead. Climb up. Come on. I'm going to pick you up again, Julie, like I did last time. >> Do it. >> Okay. >> I like that. >> I bet you do. >> It was clear that the officer was familiar with Julia, having had similar run-ins with her in the past. As more officers arrived on the scene, she was removed from the cruiser and uncuffed for questioning. >> I'm a little girl. >> You're a good guy. >> All right. So, just stay right there. Just like that. Okay. I'm going to take these cuffs off. >> You guys have been well trained. >> What should I do now? >> Okay. I'm going to have you speak with this officer over here. Go ahead and turn around. Face him. >> Hi, >> Mr. Martinez. What's your name? >> Whoa. What does that mean, >> sir? >> Hi. What's your name? >> My name is Lady Julia. >> Lady Julia. >> Much to her royal highnesses discontent, the officer read Lady Julia her rights. Now, the thing about the Miranda rightites is that officers need to ensure suspects understand them before they can continue with their questions. But unfortunately for them, Julia was anything but cooperative. >> You understand each of these rights I've explained to you. >> Is that a yes or is that a no? You understand what I told you? No. What? What part don't you understand? >> I need English. >> I want it written down. >> I know my rights, sir. Well, that's why I just told you your rights. >> Look, look, fill you right there. I'll read it to you again. Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. >> I'm silent. >> You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him represent you while you >> I'm silent. >> You cannot afford to hire a lawyer. One will be appointed representing your question. >> You can decide at any time to exercise these rights, not answer any questions or make statements. Do you understand your rights? >> You did a good job. >> Thank you. >> After reading her rights for a second time, the officer asked her if she would be willing to participate in a battery of field sobriety tests. However, she declined and insisted on speaking to the officer's supervisor instead. >> How much have you had to drink today? >> You know what? Uh, I don't have to talk anybody. >> You're absolutely right. You are absolutely right. You don't have to. >> You're doing the best job I can. >> Why, thank you. >> Do you know who I am? >> Who are you? >> You have my ID. >> I don't know who you are. All right. >> Excellent. >> Stand up for me. >> Yes, sir. >> You know I have >> Can I help you? >> I have metal in my leg. >> Okay. >> You do know I have metal in my leg. Okay. Check it out. I have metal in my arm too is metal. You have >> more metal on your arm now. >> Not that one. >> Oh, give me that one. >> While she was initially detained, she was now officially under arrest for refusing to participate in the field sobriety tests, but she would have a chance to prove whether she was sober or not via a breathalyzer at the police station. >> Come on. Need help getting in this one? >> No. >> Go ahead. >> Throw in the com. Show me. Hey. >> So slippery. So be careful getting ahead. >> It's not slippery. >> It really is. >> Don't try to steal this. >> We're trying to all recruit on your side. >> Mine. >> Thank you. >> Go ahead. >> No, not thank you. But um so what planet are we going for? >> What? Come on. Come on. Let's get going. >> What planet are we going for? >> Going to Mars. >> Why am I >> I'm gonna help you in in a minute. >> Then help me get this out. >> Thank you. >> The officers warned Julia that under the New Mexico Comply and Consent Act, she was required to submit a breath sample at the police station and that if she refused, she would lose her license for up to one year, among other penalties. Since she still declined, her charge was upgraded to aggravated DWI. Next stop, the hospital. Come on up. Come on, Julia. Come on. Hurry, Julia. Come on, Julia. Come on. >> Speak truth. >> I am. Step out of the vehicle. >> We speak only this planet. >> Julia, step out of the vehicle. Come on. >> We are here to help you. Do not hurt her. Do not hurt her. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. >> How can we help you if we're doing this? >> Well, that means you have to kick your legs out so you can stand up. Come on. >> Come on. We are here to help your planet. Give it up. She will help you. >> Julia, come on. >> Are you being abusive? >> I am telling you to get out of my vehicle before I pull you out of my vehicle. >> You're being abusive. >> No, I'm not. >> She is here to help you. >> Get out of the vehicle. >> We are here to help you. >> Okay. Come on. >> Please help her. >> I'm trying. >> Get out of the vehicle. >> Well, I'm trying. Move your legs. Got her. Release her so she can get out of the vehicle. >> Thank you, sir. You're a very good guy. >> Yep. >> Well, that was strange. Whatever planet Julia thought she was on, she would be disappointed to learn that she was still going to jail. And on Earth, no less. And even though a significant amount of time had passed for her to sober up, her behavior became more confusing to say the least. >> First of all, I want to know who my father is and why I >> No idea who your father is. >> Why you're doing this to me? >> Do you have access? >> Come on. We have access. Come on. She's intoxicated. DUI. She's involved in the crash. >> I am not intoxicated. So clear. >> Yes. >> After a brief and confusing stay at the hospital, Julia was medically cleared and the officers were given the green light to transport her to the police station for further processing. But that didn't mean she was done acting strange. >> Come on. Come on. >> Excuse me, sir. >> Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. Let's go. I am a lady and I'm detained. >> Yes, you are. No, you're actually under arrest. Come on. >> Oh, so if I'm in arrest, then why don't you uh why don't you do what you do? >> Cool. >> Are you breaking my legs again? >> I'm touching your legs. >> You're breaking my legs. >> I'm an angel. Here you have to take me where you want. >> Okay. Come on. >> Why'd you do that again? Is it giving you pleasure? >> Okay. >> I can do it myself. >> All right. >> Excuse me. >> Excuse me. >> Come on. you going. >> Julia was charged with aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to a vehicle and failure to obey traffic control devices. As per her plea bargain, she pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI. As a result, all charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to a vehicle and failure to obey traffic control devices were dropped. On January 28th, 2024, an officer was on patrol when he witnessed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. However, what should have been a simple traffic citation transformed into something much more when the suspect refused to cooperate >> Yo Mike Tell six finger. It's going to be a silver hole. >> What in the world was that, my friend? >> I was just going up >> at that speed. >> How fast was I going, >> dude? You were going probably at least 30 to 40 miles over the speed limit. >> Oh, I was not. >> Yes, you were. >> Okay. >> That That was completely reckless. >> Okay. >> That was completely reckless, my friend. >> No, sir. But I I need to see how fast I was going if you think it was reckless. That was not reckless. >> I was not going even for >> The suspect, Raphael, appeared to believe that the officer had overestimated his speed. However, it didn't matter what the suspect thought. He had been given a direct order to step out of his vehicle. And if he didn't comply, things would get ugly. >> Step out of the car, please. >> For what? Because I'm going to place you under arrest. >> For what? >> For reckless driving, >> sir. Sir, hold on. No. No. Do not >> step in. Step out of the car now. >> I'm going to step out. >> Step out of the car now. >> Bro, how can I And you, Bro, let me go, bro. Listen. Let Can I tell you what to do? Can I tell you what to do? Stop. >> Not grab me, >> bro. Bro, hold on. Stop. Stop. Stop. Pull the lock up. Look at me. Pull the lock up. Stop pulling against me. Sir, stop pulling against me right now. >> Boy, is that on? Is your camera on? Stop pulling me. Sir. Sir, listen to me. Sir. Sir, stop. Stop pulling. Stop. Stop. Why are you trying to hurt me, bro? No. No. You listen to me, motherucker. >> Raphael escalated the situation far beyond his control. If he simply apologized and let the officer issue him a ticket, he would have been on his way to wherever he was rushing to go. But since he chose to initiate a fight, things were about to get much worse for him. >> Right now, I'm getting out the car. You stop, mother. Stop reaching. >> I am reaching, man. Move. Get the out. See, I'm getting out. Get her out. [Applause] You're going to get tased. Get on the goddamn ground. >> Why are you Why are you doing all this, man? Why are you doing all this? Okay. Okay, man. Stop. Stop. >> Get on the ground now. It was incredibly ironic for Raphael to ask the officer why he was arresting him when he was the one who took a simple traffic stop from zero to 100 with his arrogant attitude. At that point, if he didn't want to get tased, he needed to comply fast. [Music] >> Get on your back. Look. Turn around. >> Turn around. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your back. Here's your point. Hands behind your back right now. >> Stop. I can't move. I can't move. >> I can't move. >> I got one out. Can't move. >> Can't move. >> Raphael was in pain and rightfully so. However, it was all for nothing. The only thing he succeeded in doing was earning himself a felony for resisting arrest with violence. As the officer placed him in cuffs, backup quickly arrived on the scene. >> Morning pass, sir. I'm >> up on your butt, buddy. I can't. You know what I'm saying? Hey, man. Get my car, please. I can't. I can't. I can't, bro. >> I do. I need the paramedic. I can't. I'm not. >> Don't worry. They're going to come get you. Stay leaning up. >> Stay leaning up, >> sir. I I don't have feeling in my left side. >> You mean faith on me? >> If I tell you to get out of the car, you get out of the car. >> I did. I'm not punching officer. >> I didn't I ain't punched you in the face. Show me the video where >> it's on video, you idiot. >> I'm an idiot. >> You're a very stupid idiot. >> Oh, yeah. So is your mother. Get my face out my face. Why are you talking to me? My lawyer, mother. >> Why are you talking to me? >> Considering Raphael had no one to blame but himself for his predicament, he had quite the nerve speaking to the officer like that. No police officer wants to get into a physical altercation with an unknown suspect on the side of the road. But due to his actions, the officer had no choice. >> I was trying to show him how to >> If I tell you you're under arrest and to get out of the car, you have to comply. Don't start reaching. Don't grab my hand. >> Man, shut the Can I talk? I'll let you talk, sir. Can I talk to him? You want to sit here? No, man. Shut listen. >> Come on, man. >> Sir, what's your name? >> I'm Raphael. I have a class ACD. I do not. >> Fio, listen to me. We're going to we're FD is going to come check you out and then we're going to get you in the car and then I'll talk to you. Okay, >> man. All right. >> All right. So, just >> Okay. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yeah. Okay. >> While Raphael continued to complain about the supposed mistreatment he suffered, paramedics arrived on the scene to treat his taser wounds. Raphael's father and brother also arrived on the scene, and let's just say they were far more understanding than him. >> Hey, what's going on? I heard the officer say in the face, >> I believe. So, yeah, he's he's got a bloody lip. It's everything's on video. He has a dash cam video and stuff. So, listen, if it's what whatever the charges are, the charges. All right. Um he was he was driving recklessly and you know, >> he will ride past my dog. He will ride past me >> in a reckless manner. I mean, was he was he going pretty damn fast? >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm sit here and clock him. But >> no, he has he has in car radio, radar and stuff. >> Yeah. So, >> he had a good reason to pull. >> All right. >> I'm not gonna sit here and I work for the city of Clear Water. Okay. >> I'm going keep it real with you. >> Yeah. No, I appreciate it. And and like I mean obviously we had to we had to use a level of force, but it's the the least level that we have to go to affect an arrest. He's by himself. That's why we all came out here. So, they'll be we'll we'll do the investigation. make sure everything's, you know, how we're not going to chop up charges or anything like that. You know what I mean? >> Well, that's why I'm trying to keep calm because you don't get no extra. >> Yeah. Yeah. No, I listen obviously he's he's upset with the officer and it's it's hey, let me I'll I told him he's like, "Let me talk to you." I go, "Hey, let FD FD just got here. Let them treat you. I'll put you in the back of the car and we'll talk." >> All right. Let things calm down. >> Stress, right? >> Absolutely. >> And I don't know why he took that on him, >> right? >> He just made worse. >> Yeah. The officer informed Raphael's father that his son's vehicle would be towed to an impound lot and provided him with the directions on where to pick it up after posting bail. Finally, after some time to think, Raphael seemed to come to his senses. However, he was more than a little shaken up after the altercation. >> You almost just passed out, boss. >> Oh, man. Listen, y'all. I'm sorry. Y'all don't get enough. You're about to fall. I was I was preventing you from falling. >> I appreciate you, but I was just like >> I think you wanted your head to hit the concrete. >> All right. >> Did your chest feel weird at all? >> Yep. And then we'll just remove them and take the >> Your heart's going real fast a moment. >> Do you need to throw up? >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Just take some nice deep breaths. All right. We're just worried about your heart rate at the moment. Okay. >> Hey, look at me. You look like you're going off somewhere. >> What's going on? What do you feel right now? >> You feel a little loopy? >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. You're good. >> Po as well. >> Okay. >> That Yeah, I forgot to mention that in the beginning. >> Yeah, that that would have been helpful. Yep. Sorry. >> Raphael was charged with reckless driving, driving under the influence, resisting an officer with violence, battery of a law enforcement officer, and possession of co. As a result, he was sentenced to 25.2 months in jail, probation, anger management, and fines. On April 25th, 2023, police officers pulled over a driver following reports that he had been driving recklessly, swerving down the highway in a damaged car with a child in the back seat. And let's just say damaged was an understatement. >> Dude, you got to get off the road. You can't keep driving on a flat tire. >> I'm trying to get behind you on the left side. Yeah. >> Okay, Ne, you're trying to go around this way. I got to get you safely over there so we can get you off the road and get you some help. Okay, let me stop let me stop traffic in the right lane so I can get you over there. Okay, >> over that way then. All the way over. All the way over onto the shoulder. You got to get on the shoulder. You can't keep driving on that rim. Now >> you got to get off to the shoulder. You can't keep driving on that rim. You're just doing more damage and you're slowing traffic down on the right shoulder. >> It sounded worse than nails on a chalkboard. Although the officer gave the suspect a direct order to pull over onto the shoulder, he continued driving down the highway, prompting the officer to hop into his cruiser and pursue him. But thankfully on his tires, the driver wasn't going anywhere fast. You change this to a signal 12 driving westbound on the on the rim of the vehicle. Um, for some reason doesn't want to pull over front or what's going on. Stop your vehicle. >> Did you vomit on yourself? >> No, sir. >> Come over here. >> Get that. Well, it looks like you urinated. That's incorrect. >> What's that? Why is your crotch region wet? >> It's not. >> Yes, it is. >> It's Look, it's in That's not a wet crotch region, sir. So, what am I seeing? You're not seeing anything. >> That doesn't make any sense. >> The officer was right. It didn't make any sense at all. It appeared as though the suspect had been driving while under the influence of alcohol and seeing that he had his child in the back seat with him. It was downright despicable behavior. But aside from peeing his pants, the officer wanted to know what he was doing driving around with a missing tire. >> What happened to your car? Why don't you have a tire? >> I do have a tire. I'm trying to get help with it with my tire. Now, what I'm telling you is the front of your vehicle does not have a tire on it. Were you unaware that the front of your vehicle does not have a tire? >> I'm getting on the tire that my vehicle has. There's a tire under. That's not it. What do you mean that's not it? I'm going to get home >> on this on your rim. >> Yes, sir. >> You're going to drive on the highway on your rim? >> I'm currently doing so. >> Not well. >> Not well indeed. The man's missing tire was one thing, but recklessly driving around with a child in the back seat was a completely different story. However, the suspect preferred to play dumb, hoping the officer would just get out of his hair. >> What location were you coming from? Were you coming from your house? A friend's house, a business, a restaurant, a gas station, my house on Princeton. So, you were coming from your house. >> What's your confusion? >> Can you just tell me if you were coming from your house or not? >> I was coming from my house on Princeton. >> Okay, that was very difficult. >> All right. Now, where are you headed? >> Well, I'm currently heading east. Where? What's the destination? >> I'm heading east. Pick up my son. >> Is that your son? >> No, sir. A different son? >> Hey, buddy. Can you stay in the car? >> No. I love him. Okay. >> What's going on? >> Awesome. >> Sir, you don't tell me what to say to my son. >> Everything's all right. >> Okay. You're allowed. >> Okay. You all right? You're physically okay? >> I feel it. The man's behavior was completely out of line. Given his mental state and the state of his vehicle, it was shocking to think that he had been chauffeering the kid around on the highway. Upset with the officer's line of questioning regarding the boy, the suspect attempted to remove his son from the car, which was a move he would quickly regret. >> Sir, how dare you grab my son? What is happening? >> What is happening? >> Do you have an explanation? >> Oh, you're going to cuff me. Oh, >> don't worry. >> They don't have any on here. Drag me. No, you have to drag me. >> Okay. >> What am I doing? >> Drag me. >> Roll over on your butt. >> You have to show me what I'm doing wrong. >> Roll over on your butt, bud. >> Am I doing anything wrong? >> Sit up. >> Am I doing anything wrong? >> Yep. >> Witnessing a grown man behaving like this in front of his young child was embarrassing. And the answer to his question was yes. He was doing a lot of things wrong and as a result he was going to pay for it. If he wanted to behave like an oversized toddler, the officers were going to treat him like one. >> You're not a piss. >> Oh, prove to me that I'm not a scoundrel. Well, how am I not a scoundrel, sir? You're putting me in your car because I'm doing what wrong. >> Sir, I'm not going to grab your leg. So, we're not going to go in the back of the car. >> My rights are what? My rights are what? What are my rights? What are my rights? I have rights. I don't have rights. >> I don't have rights. >> There you go. >> I don't have rights. What are my rights? >> Go. >> What are my rights? Do I have rights? What are my rights? >> You start acting right now. >> What are my rights? >> Don't kick. >> What are my rights? No one's kicking. I'm asking for rights. >> All right, close the door. My rights are uh non-existent. What are my rights? >> He's not He's not going to let us uh >> Do I have rights? Do I have rights? >> Are you going to sit down correctly? >> What are my rights? What are my rights? >> You are under arrest. We are depriving you of your >> having no rights. >> We are depriving you of your civil liberties. You are under arrest. Sit down. >> For what reason? >> After a brief struggle, the officers eventually managed to secure the man in the back of the cruiser and close the doors. Next, they turn their attention to his child, who was quite worked up at the sight of his father being arrested. >> Where is >> He's He's in the police car, so he's safe. Okay. So, he's not on the side of the road. It's dangerous to be out here on the side of the road. >> He's not He's not They're not doing everything they can to get hurt. Okay. >> Hey, buddy. Let me ask you a question. Who is that to you? >> He's your dad. >> Is your dad? Do you have any contact to your mom? >> Yes. >> Do you mind if I call your mom? >> Do you know your mom's phone number? >> Here. What's your mom's phone number? >> You can call her. >> The officer spoke to the boy's mother and requested that she come to the scene to pick up her son. Meanwhile, in the back of the cruiser, the suspect had managed to move his cuffs from behind him to in front of him. And when the officers found out, they weren't impressed. >> Your hands are going back behind your back. Okay, I'm telling you that now. >> Secondary location. >> There is no debating that fact. Your hands are going back behind your back and you're going to jail per policy. The way we >> What are my rights? >> So, in a minute, you're going to be coming out taken out of the car. You're going to be put back in a pair of rips. You're going to be put in a car. >> What are my rights? What are my rights? >> We're not talking about your rights. >> Sir, you can't not talk about my rights. You're going to a restaurant. >> Oh, it's not how it works. What are my rights? >> Sergeant R. Greg of the Orlando Police Department. >> We're not talking about your rights. You're under arrest. Oh, when I'm under arrest. What are my rights? I have rights when I'm under arrest. What are they? >> You are under arrest. >> What are my rights? >> Do not get out of the car and try to take you under. >> Oh, excuse me. What are my rights when I'm being arrested? Sergeant Greg, that's an easy question. Do you want me to tell them to you? I'll tell you. >> I don't need to read them. I'm not asking you questions. >> I'm asking you questions. proper, you're failing to give me the answer to that question. >> Although the officer already told him, he told him again he didn't need to read the suspect his rights in order to place him in cuffs. A suspect has only read their rights before questioning. All the officers wanted to do then was cuff his hands behind his back. >> Greg is noting me. He is aggressive behind your back. Put your hand behind your back. hurting me. >> Now, you should be able to uncuff him and get his hand against his wall. >> Sergeant Greg is not mirandizing me. >> Sir, stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. You're failing to aggress me. >> I'm asking you to mirandize me and you were shoving me against the wall. >> I was doing that. >> You I mean like I asked him to do it and he and you both get to decide the way this is going to go. You're under arrest for DUI for what? >> Not suspicion of DUI. DUI. There's probable cause to arrest you for DUI. That's why you're in custody >> under what? Like, can you explain it to me? >> 316 193 sub1 also child neglect and resisting without none of that makes any sense to me. >> Before he was pulled out of the vehicle, the officer finally read the man his rights, but it was obvious that he wasn't paying attention. Furthermore, the officers didn't care if their reasons for arresting him didn't make any sense to him or not. He was going to jail and there was nothing he could do about it. >> You know, you don't have to pick me up like a body. >> You're going to It's pigs. Move your pigs. Be pigs. Thanks. Yep. This is what pigs do. >> All right. >> You got your camera in your car, right? Yep. Let's turn them on his side. All right. >> Going that way. >> Yep. This hurts. I'm being abused. You don't care. Your opinion. >> None of you cares. You're >> stink. >> You're okay. >> You're pigs. >> Okay. You're entitled to your opinion. >> My opinion is correct. Okay. >> The child's mother took custody of the boy after a search of the vehicle revealed multiple empty beer cans beside the driver's seat. At the police station, the suspect provided two breath samples which registered as 0.187 and 0.18. As a result, he was arrested and charged with DUI while accompanied by a minor, child neglect, and resisting an officer without violence. On February 9th, 2022, police officers in Western Florida responded to a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman who appeared to be unaware of what had transpired during the accident, leading to a series of unusual excuses. >> Man, what's going on today? >> No, I was just >> You were what? >> Okay. Could you think you can do me? I'm going to come talk to you in a couple minutes just to get some more information. You think you think you can sit at the back of the Thank you. You think you can sit at the back of the All right, that's enough. You think you can sit at the back of the rescue for me, >> please? Or stand right here for five minutes? That's fine. >> I'm gonna come back and talk to you. Okay. >> Okay. Can you guys just take her in there for a minute? >> He keeps trying to run out on us wherever you want. >> What's your name? >> Can you Can you sit over there, please, for a minute? Right off the bat, the woman appeared to be severely inebriated, either under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or both. It was scary to think that she was recently behind the wheel of a vehicle, considering she could barely walk or form a coherent sentence. >> Make me feel better. >> Huh? Am I going to make you feel better? >> Mhm. >> Why you feel bad? >> Of course. >> Oh. Okay, that's fine. You can stop touching me. Um, so the uh CSA over there is done with his accident investigation. I'm deputy. >> I'm with the sheriff's office. Jeffy, I'm now conducting a DUI investigation. >> Okay. >> Well, we we're noticing some things on you, so I'm going to conduct an investigation. All right. Have you had anything to drink today? Just >> No. Have you? >> No. >> No. Okay. Would you be willing to conduct some exercises for me? >> Absolutely. >> You would? >> Oh, >> okay. >> Why not? >> The suspect confidently agreed to the field sobriety test. But given her state, it was going to be interesting to watch. Let's just hope that she could walk a straight line better than she could pretend to be sober. >> Okay. So, basically what you're going to do is you're going to follow my finger with both your hands and feet together. Okay. >> My arm. Huh? Nice. >> Hands and feet at your side. at your side like this. Like this. Do you see what I'm doing? Like this? >> Like this? >> You're You're not doing that. >> It's just a starting position. Can you hear me for a second? Okay. So, follow my finger with your eyes. Let me step just your eyes. All right. Don't move your head. >> All right, you can take a second to take a break. Loosen up. All right. >> So, she was off to a really, really, really bad start, but she was determined to prove herself. Next, it was time to walk a straight line, which sounds easy, but when you're as drunk as she was, let's just say that listening to instructions is even harder than walking. >> Can you come over here real quick? Actually, stand right there. I'm going to demonstrate it first before I uh before I have you do it. Okay. Well, I I have to show you what you're I I have to show you what you're doing first before Okay. So, this next exercise is called the walk and turn. >> I I have to I have to go through it. Okay. this. So, you're going to take nine heel to toe steps forward, >> do a series of small steps, and take nine heel to toe steps back. All right? And you're going to count the steps out loud. >> Do you understand? >> No. >> Do you understand what I'm saying? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. You may begin when you're ready. One, two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four, five. >> Okay, you're finished. >> Okay. Well, that wasn't exactly nine heel totoe steps in each direction, but that said, it told the officer everything he needed to know. Next up was the last exercise, the arch nemesis of drunk drivers everywhere, the dreaded one leg stand. >> So, this exercise is called the one leg stand. All right. Basically, what you're going to do is you're going to put both your hands and feet together. No spaces or gaps. All right. Whichever foot of your choosing. All right. Are you refusing to do the exercise? >> Okay, then do me a favor. Let me finish what I am doing and then you'll be able to talk. >> Let me finish what I'm doing. >> All right? Cuz if you don't let me finish what I'm listen to me, >> if you don't let me finish what I'm telling you to do and you don't give and you don't do the exercises and you don't dispel my worries, all right, I'm just going to take you straight to jail. I won't even give you a chance to do it. >> Okay? >> To jail. >> You You're done with the exercises. You don't want to do them anymore. All right, then let me show you. Stay quiet for 2 minutes so that way you have a chance to do it. All right, and then you can do it. All right. It seemed as though getting her to understand the instructions was going to be more complicated than the actual test. Considering how terribly she performed on the last two tests, her confidence was astounding. >> All right, ma'am. Ma'am, look at me. Ma'am, look at me. Whichever foot of your choosing. All right. You're going to lift it up 6 in off the ground like this. About the size of a Coke can pretty much >> looking at your foot. All right. With both of your hands at your sides. All right. You're going to count like this. 1,00 1,002 1,00 3 100 4 until I tell you to stop. You may begin. >> Two three four five touch. That's it. >> Unsurprisingly, it was another resounding failure. Only drunk confidence could have made her believe that she had any chance of fooling the officer into thinking she wasn't under the influence of alcohol. >> All right, last exercise. Look at him. Look at him. Put your hands at your side. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. Oh no. >> You're under arrest for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. >> That's me. >> Mm- No. Why? Give me. >> Can you ask for a female for a pat down real quick? >> I want I need I'm going to call my friend. >> I like it. Fond. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. >> Thank you. >> The woman was less than impressed to find out that she was being arrested. In her mind, she had done nothing wrong. The accident was just that, an accident. And that being highly intoxicated had nothing to do with it. This made her think that she had every right to protest. >> Do not get out of the car. Stay in the car. Okay? Do not get out of the car. I promise that if you give us a hard time, all right, it's not going to be well. >> I have I I haven't >> All right, put her inside the door. >> All right, get inside the car. Get >> inside the car. >> Don't kick me. >> Okay, you just got another charge for battery and a law enforcement officer. Get in the car. >> Get in the car. Trying to see you now. Get in the car. >> Get in the car. >> You just kicked him. You just caught another charge. Close. Move your foot like this. >> Pull her. Pull her. >> It took a lot of work to get her into the back of the cruiser. And now the officers had to get her out one last time to search her. After that, the only thing left to do was transport her to the police station for further processing. Oh yeah. Yeah. The woman was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI, first offense, and resisting an officer without violence. There's no doubt that she was ridiculous, all right? But at least she didn't get physical with the officers like our next suspect. On August 16th, 2023, police officers in Monqua, Wisconsin were dispatched to the scene of an accident after a vehicle rolled over. Considering the severity of the crash, the officers were stunned to find the driver walking, or more like stumbling around the wreckage. Everybody's out. [Music] >> Okay, >> I will pay for it. I promise. >> What happened, Karina? >> Dennis knows what the is going on. I'm being chased. All right. >> Being chased by who? >> Okay. I'm like, I don't want to get in any cop car anymore. >> You already know what the is up. >> Okay. Are you injured? >> The woman Karina wasn't making any sense. And as a result, the officer was immediately suspicious that she was under the influence. Furthermore, although she had claimed that she wasn't injured in the crash, the blood dripping down her arm said otherwise. >> Anybody else? 36 ma. We're going to be out with freedom. >> I always work for construction. [Music] >> Karina. [Music] >> Oh my god. >> You been drinking at all? No. >> And drugs? >> No. >> You want to do feel so soriety at all? >> No. >> The officer wanted to get a good look at her arm, but due to her state of mind, it was difficult to get close to her. And although she refused to participate in a field sobriety test, what she did next was grounds for arrest. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. >> Stop. >> Put your hands on your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Get off. Hands behind your back. On your back. I'm good. >> Resisting. She's 95. >> She driving. >> I I don't have any witnesses. >> Okay. I think that the doctor said she was driving. >> Well, that was a dumb move. By resisting arrest, Karina was only making things worse for herself, adding additional charges to her wrap sheet. Thankfully, with two officers on the scene, they were easily able to secure her in cuffs. >> She's being [Music] [Music] let go. I didn't do nothing, man. They're holding me back. >> I'm trying to [ __ ] Earth. I'm human. I'm here. I am the queen. [Music] >> Please don't blow me in here. Now you're going to hold me down. Get me out. >> Have a seat. I'm trying to get away from these. They're demons and they're [Music] >> the only person making her look crazy was herself due to the spectacle she was putting on in front of witnesses. Next, the officers placed Karina in the back of the police cruiser and EMS arrived. While she was being treated, the officers were busy interviewing witnesses. I saw him stopped over there on the corner. She was speaking with this gentleman over here in the van. I don't know, looking for directions or something. And as soon as she stopped talking to him, hit the throttle, hit the mailbox about three houses down over there, blew it off, and then kept accelerating. I watched her hit this tree over here, which is now on the ground, car immediately flipped over, and I just pulled over and stopped. And then as I was getting out, this guy jumped out, and she was banging on the window in there, and the front of the car was smoking. Okay. >> She really wasn't very of the situation. >> If there was a silver lining to the situation, it was that no other vehicle or pedestrian was involved in the accident. Karina and everyone on the scene were lucky that she only hit a tree and not something else. >> She's not done. >> Okay. >> She refused field. >> Oh, it fell away from me. >> Carol, >> that's the owner of that. >> I'm going to see if she's even supposed to be driving that. >> She said he was chasing her. Who was >> Carol? >> Carol sounds like a girl. >> Oh, she said somebody was chasing her. >> Yeah, I know. She's just under the drug. [Music] After collecting witness statements and with Karina in cuffs secured in the back of the police cruiser, the officers transported her to a local medical center for treatment before carrying on to the police station. >> Come on. >> I know. Come on. Let's get going. >> Thank you. >> Come on. Pretty good scratches on this side. >> I'm fine. Just trying to figure out where we're here for medical clearance. >> Karina, what's your date of birth? >> Can you look just in house? Karina. >> Yeah, >> I am Karina. >> She was the driver of a car that was >> I am sorry. I will I will write down everything for that. Well, you already fought with us once. >> I know. >> I know you don't. >> I didn't even know what the I was doing. >> Drugs. >> That's the pure one. >> Who's the pure one? >> The trees know. >> How do the trees smell? >> Okay. >> Okay. Thanks. Even if the tree knew whether Karina was driving, considering she had bulldozed it over, even if it could talk, it couldn't help the officers in their investigation. Either way, although she was a pain to listen to, at least she was already more cooperative than when the officers first encountered her. >> What drugs did you take today? >> I didn't. >> You didn't use any drugs? >> You put my hair to me or anything? >> Sure. >> What drugs did you take today? >> I didn't. None. >> I don't do drugs. >> I don't believe you. >> You can't be peer. You can't be a queen. If you're period, you want to take me out. >> You have to be pier to be a queen. >> I'm period. I can do whatever I want. Wait, what I got here? >> Oh, yeah. You got a good cut on your elbow there, huh? >> I know. I always do all my like I go live in the trees. That's rash. >> Yeah, that's bad. We got to get that cleaned up. >> In the trees and Okay. Because this is all I fight for >> like the car. >> And then like I don't have any people. You were in a bad mood. >> Guess what? >> It wasn't that bad. >> No, it was bad. >> Boom. >> Yeah, it was pretty bad. >> I know. I could be loud, too. Like, >> um, >> the car is like total and you like knocked down. >> I seen it. I seen it. I'm sorry. I apologize too. >> He's not looking at you. He's looking at his computer. >> You're cute as he said. >> You're a dirty bastard. He's reading me. I hate you, Alfred. >> Why do you think his name's Alfred? >> I see his big head. >> Well, that's not very nice. >> I'm going to tell him something. >> I know you guys know my crown. >> Why it is >> No one wants to take your crown. Karina was charged with OWI, resisting or obstructing an officer, bail jumping, hit and run, failure to keep vehicle under control, reckless driving, failure to notify police of an accident, and unreasonable and imprudent speed. She was found guilty of resisting or obstructing an officer and was sentenced to 135 days in jail in addition to probation for 4 years. [Music] On December 31st, 2024, police officers in Ohio were dispatched to the scene of an accident after an SUV crashed into a residence. When the officers arrived, they found the damaged vehicle protruding from the front of the house, but the driver was nowhere to be seen. >> Hey, is everybody okay? >> That guy won't come outside. You keep asking him to come out. He won't come out. >> I'm out of the house. >> Yeah. >> I asked him if he's okay. He ignored me and just closed the door with his side. >> Yeah, you can cancel EMS for right now. We don't have anybody in this vehicle. >> He doesn't He just ignored you. >> Yeah, like he he had the door open. I was like, "Hey, is anybody hurt?" And he just closed the door and went inside. He about me uh shining a light in his face. Oh, he's not concerned that there's a car in his house. >> Yeah. Okay. >> I told 15 to go check Atkins. It's right around the corner. There's a domestic connected to this car that comes back to Atkins. She's probably running there. >> For whatever reason, the homeowner was refusing to come outside and speak to the officers, which was strange because you'd think he'd want to help the authorities bring the person responsible to justice. However, the officers caught a break when they spotted someone lurking around the scene. >> Oh, no. No, no, don't run. We're not doing that. >> We're just trying. We're investigating something right now. We just need you to ID yourself so we can figure out what's going on. Don't run. Stop walking. We're going to go in cops. >> Oh [ __ ] I >> Okay, come here. >> We're just investigating the traffic. >> Strip club. Jesus Christ. >> It looks like you're in a car accident. >> Come with us here real quick. >> No weapons or anything on you, dear. >> No. >> What's this right here? Can >> It's nothing. It's just making sure. Can I just hold your purse real quick here? Do you have ID on you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Can I have your ID? >> Yes. Can I just give you my name? >> Do you have an ID? It'd be a lot easier. >> Yeah, I do. >> Okay. Can I have your ID, please? Your ID now? >> 34 unit from here to east. >> All right, ma'am. Go. Put your hands behind your back. >> Can I Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. >> Wait. Can I check on my kids? I >> Yeah, in a moment. Put your hands behind your back. >> Why are you taking my purse? This is stolen. Can I check on my cash, please? >> As the woman refused to cooperate and provide the officers with her identification, they decided to detain her rather than play her games. And although she had every reason to be concerned about her children, she had some other concerns that were not as valid. >> Can I have my crackers? >> Why you worried about your crackers? >> Cuz let me have my crackers. >> You're going to get your property back. I don't want your crackers. >> Right. So, I cannot hide because you have to go back in the prison. >> Just let go of it. >> No, >> just just that close. >> Right here. >> No, I'm going to walk to my >> No, we're not. >> We're going to go right here. >> Can you please walk me to my kids? >> We can't. >> Listen, don't do that cuz then we going to have to put you on this device. Listen real quick. >> Please. I'm not saying nothing. Please let me talk to my kids. That's who I'm asking. >> What's your name? Listen real quick. If you act a fool, we going to have to put you in this grab device and we don't want to know how to do that. So, we have to put you in the back of this cruiser for our investigation. So, when we open this door, quit trying to pull away and try to run. >> You're going to get yourself in trouble. >> It sounded like the woman was on her way home from work when she crashed into the house. Although her children were not in the car with her at the time of the accident, she claimed they were at home alone. Still, that didn't give her the right to resist the officers. >> No, you're not going to check on them. We're going to check on them. >> So, I need you to put your feet inside >> and then we're going to check on your kids. What's your address? Which one is it? Where the black truck is at. >> Just put her in, bro. >> All right. Go ahead. Hop in there. >> Don't touch me. >> Put her in Put in her device, bro. [ __ ] All right, >> shut her down. >> I think so. >> Why y'all have to do that? On my >> You don't dictate what happened, >> right? So why can't I? >> Because you don't dictate what happened. Right now you're in a police investigation. You did something wrong. So now we have to do our job. Well, our thing is you have to let us do our job. If you would have just got in the car and let us do what we needed to do. We could have went and checked on your kids. All you had to do is get in the back seat. Now we about to put you in this rap device cuz you want to fight and you want to kick. I don't want to do that. >> When did I kick? >> You just was fighting and kicking right then and there. Trying to put you sit in here. >> Did I kick you? >> I never kicked anybody. Ironically, while she continued to claim that she was cooperating, the woman refused to cooperate in any way, shape, or form. The officers were being lenient. But if she continued, she would surely regret it once their patience ran out. >> I want to see my kiss. That's not a rule. >> They came out my >> You left. Okay. That's why you going this rap, >> right? You're the only one sitting up here in my face yelling. >> I'm trying to help you. I'm trying to help you. I don't need your help though. >> I don't want to talk to you though. I don't like you. >> I don't like you either. >> Where are your kids at? >> Are they They're in the house. >> She left the kids She left her kids inside. >> I just want to see my kids. >> They're minors. She want us to do her favor and go let her check on her kids first before she cooperated with us. It don't work like that. >> How old are they? Are they like young? >> They're minors. >> They're minor. >> That's what she said. >> That's That's all she said. They're minors. She won't tell us, but she want to check on her kids that she left in the house by their self, >> right? So what? Now you got to judge me cuz I'm a mom. So what? And I'm not And I don't feel bad about it cuz my kids are taken care of. >> It was understandable that the woman wanted to check on her children. However, given that she left them at home alone to go to work, there was a good chance that much of her concern was exaggerated. >> Get in. You're going to get pulled in or you can get in by yourself. Just pull her that way and then we'll get this workload. >> You're the one doing it. >> Let's come out. No, no, no, no. Okay, I will go. I will go. >> Trying to sit you out. >> I will go. >> The officers warned her that if she didn't cooperate soon, she would be placed in a wrap. She needed to accept that either way, she was going to the police station, whether she liked it or not. And how she would be transported there would depend on how she acted. >> You're the main one I don't like. >> All right. >> Stay away from me. Everybody arrested but him. Keep him away from me. Jesus Christ. What is this? >> Thank you. Jesus. If y'all was going to wrap me like this, y'all should have said that. I would just got up. >> Oh, you're trying to explain it to you. >> Why? >> This evil man over here to my left. Maybe. >> I don't know that she's evil. I >> bet you don't. But he bothering me. I'm about to Please don't do that no more. >> Are you able to breathe? Fit both hands in. >> Jesus Christ. Y'all acting like I'm did a mass shooting. >> You said, "Okay, well, I would I would have did it if I knew they was going to do this." >> They explained it to you that you were >> No, they didn't. They didn't explain it. No, they did not. No, they did not. >> The officers absolutely explained to her multiple times that if she didn't cooperate and get in the back of the cruiser willingly, they were going to restrain her. And even though there was definitely no way she could check on her children by that point, she was determined to stop the officers from doing so, too. >> Don't open up my door. Don't open up my door. >> Listen, >> just shut the up. >> All right. I need to be able to check on your children, >> girl. >> Okay, >> girl. >> You're right. I'll just get TS. >> Girl, do it. >> Do it. >> I will. Jaden, do not open up my door. They need a warrant. Do not open up my door. >> Why you got to put something over my head? I do not for me. >> Get off of me. >> Get off of me. I don't have nothing else. Get off of me. >> Get off of me. >> Get me out of here. >> I'm getting you out. Get me out of here. >> Get me out of here. >> Lean forward. I'm getting you out. >> No. >> I'm getting you out. >> No, you're not. >> I have to take the seatelt off. >> I swear to God. Where's my kids? Where's my kids? That's >> I cannot wait. I'm >> She's holding one seat belt and biting the other. It won't let me get it. >> The officers contacted the suspect's sister who agreed to watch over her children. However, when the sister arrived on the scene, it was revealed that she had a prior CSP case involving her own children. Worse, the officers also discovered that she had a felony warrant. >> I apologize. I thought the other officers ran you before you came over here. >> How did I get in trouble? >> The case number is in 2024. So, I don't know about if you exactly happened. >> I never got charged. Where did this happen? >> This was like a couple months ago. And the detective I had a detective call me and that was the last thing I heard about that. But they never said that they had like evidence that it was me or anything. >> Okay. Well, for some reason, somebody on you. >> Okay. And I was just notified of that. The woman involved in the accident was arrested and charged with DUI, endangering children, obstruction, and open container. And although her crash was bad, it was nothing compared to the chaos the next suspects caused. On June 23rd, 2025, police officers arrived on the scene of an accident after a Dodge Charger had fled from the police and crashed. Although the officers had discontinued the chase due to public safety concerns, the vehicle continued to travel at speeds exceeding 120 mph until it crashed at an intersection. >> Hey, get on the ground right now. >> Get on the ground. >> I don't care. Get on the ground. >> You see where you just paused? >> That wasn't me, sir. >> I'm sorry, sir. That wasn't me, sir. >> Anybody see anybody leave the car? >> Huh? Amry, uh, the driver went to the gas station. Go to the gas station. Black male. [Music] >> Hey, black male, white male ran to the gas station from the car. >> It was a chaotic scene. The crash had just occurred and multiple suspects had fled the scene. Not only did the officers need to catch the suspects who were unaccounted for, but they also needed to identify who was driving the vehicle. Turn the around the ground. >> Turn around. Get on the ground. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> Holy, >> dude. Did you see the crash? >> They hit right here next to me. I'm sorry. I'm I'm sorry. I'm excited. Yes, sir. I saw it. >> You seen him get out of the dress? >> He got out of the driver's seat and ran around the car. The guy. >> Which one? The one that was over there. >> The one over there. >> I need to stand up. >> As soon as they hit, he jumped out. >> Stay on the ground. Both males are >> as soon as they hit, he jumped out of the driver seat. >> Heated and got the passenger seat. >> According to the witnesses, the detained male, Jerick had been driving the vehicle and after the crash hopped out of the driver's seat and got into the passenger seat. However, Jerick was singing a different tune. [Music] >> Your girlfriend was driving. Yes, sir. to >> my brother. >> She's saying she let you drive. >> Hey, >> we got witnesses saying you driving, dude. So, at this point, you're better off cooperating with us. >> Listen, that wasn't me driving. >> That's fine. But we have witnesses saying that you were the driver of the vehicle. So, at this point, you're better off cooperating with us. So, maybe we can work some out with you, okay? Rather than tell us because all the witness are saying you were driving. >> No, sir. I wasn't driving. >> Listen to me. Do you understand what I'm telling you? >> Yes, sir. >> Just relax, dude. Calm down. I'm not going to ask you whether you were driving, sir. >> Listen, I'm not asking you whether you're driving. >> Babe, please. >> Babe, that's that's what I said. >> It doesn't matter what you tell him to say. We have witnesses for a reason. >> Jerick was placed in the back of the squad car while the officers continued their investigation. To get to the bottom of things, they continued to question more eyewitnesses. However, they were receiving conflicting reports. >> You see anybody get out of the driver's seat? >> The black guy, as soon as they hit, he jumped the out of the driver's seat and ran around the passenger seat. He got in the passenger seat. >> He got out of the driver's seat. He was driving. >> I know. He got out of the driver's seat and then what? >> Jumped in the passenger seat. >> He went around the outside of the car. >> He went around the outside of the car to the other side. >> And then whenever I got out of my truck, I walked around and was asking everybody if they're okay, if they're okay. And then he was >> in the passenger seat of the car like hollering, screaming at me, "Please take us home, bro. Please take us home. Get us the out of here. Get us the out of here. The cops are coming. Tell them I wasn't driving." >> I think there was four. There was four total. Four total. One female. There was one more female. >> There was another female. Another male. >> Those are the ones that went to the gas station. >> Caught at the gas station. There was a female that was with the same. >> Hold on. Hey, so you're for sure you seen four? >> I saw Yeah. Me and my wife, we saw I had to verify cuz I was like, >> "So, you had the female that was in here and the male that we were >> two blacks and two Hispanic looking at that that dipped out. The the Hispanics dipped out." >> Okay. And the other one was a female, you're saying? So, the one that ran with the dude was a dude and a female. There was a dude and a female. >> We have the dude. >> Got the dude. There was a female. >> Hey buddy. >> So So we have a dash cam on one of the cars here. The company vehicle. The F-150. Who's the female that was with you? >> That's my homeboy girlfriend. >> No, not the one that was in the car. The one that ran with you to the gas station. >> That ran with me? Nobody ran with me? >> Yeah, there was another person that ran towards the gas station. >> Who was that? Your girlfriend or her? >> No, I don't. >> What's her name? >> I don't know. That's what I'm saying. Can I see the footage? Cuz I don't know what you're talking about. >> You know, I'm not going to bring you over to the guy's truck and show you. He has dash cam and it shows you and another female running toward the gas station. Is that your girlfriend or do you know who it is? >> No, I was running by myself. I didn't see nobody with me. I just seen we were in the crash. I hopped out and I ran to the gas station. I was scared. >> The suspect confirmed the officer's suspicions, stating that Jerick was the driver and had switched seats with his girlfriend Amyia, who was also apprehended before the officers arrived on the scene. >> When the car crashed, where were you sitting? I was in the passenger seat. Okay. But when I had seen everything come out, I my first thing to do was hop out like make sure I'm okay. I wanted to make sure I was okay. When I had hopped out, make sure I was okay. You They got videos. You'll see me standing in the row. I stand in the road. I came back. I sat down. I'm sitting down. >> Where did you sit down? At the at the driver's seat. Because at this point, the only way the only place >> Well, it wasn't a claim. This I sat down. I to make sure I was okay. I >> But the only place for him to go from there was to move from the driver seat to the passenger seat. >> I don't know where else he was going to go. >> Okay. So, let me ask you this. Who was driving the vehicle? What do you mean? If I wasn't driving the vehicle, who else is probably driving the vehicle? >> Cuz I'm asking you straight up. Who was driving the vehicle? >> It was three people in the vehicle. >> Okay. So, who was driving the vehicle? >> Although she was being extremely flaky. Amia eventually admitted that her boyfriend Jerick was driving the vehicle. Now, the officers had multiple witnesses, including two suspects who pointed to Jerick as the driver. >> Hey, what's your name, man? >> Jer. >> Jerickson. All right. I talked to Amaya and all kinds of other witnesses and [ __ ] How old are you, buddy? Are you 17? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Hey, is that car stolen? Like, what's the deal with it? >> No. No, sir. It's not stolen. >> It's my It's my girlfriend's mom's car. >> Your girlfriend's mom's? >> Yes, sir. But I >> What's up with that tag that's on it? I don't even belong on it. >> I don't know. That's You feel It's not even my car. >> You got a license, man? >> Not physically. I have a picture of it, guess. >> Oh, but you actually have a license. Jerick finally admitted to being the driver, but didn't have a valid excuse for why he fled from the officers, which led to the accident. He said that he was taking his friend Tiso to work when he saw the officer panicked and took off. In the end, his story just didn't add up. >> This is supposed to be her mom's car, I guess. But >> it is. It's registered to her mom. >> The tag don't belong on it. >> No, the tag is not a sign. >> Okay. >> But the VIN comes back to her mother. Is it registered? >> No. No tag, no nothing. It's registered in her name. >> Probably in the process of repo or something. >> Well, that's what I'm saying. Did they just attach it to to try to conceal another crime or Well, it's not coming back stolen. It's coming back to her mom under the VIN. The VIN, right? But is the VIN registered under her mom's name? >> And it's current valid. >> The car is unregistered. >> And the driver has no license. >> He owns the Italian restaurant at the Apex, which is where they were pulling into. He goes, "Oh, I recognize that car. My son always rides around in that car with his buddy and then saw us continue north." >> That guy. >> Yes. That is the son of the fella that decided to run over to the gas station. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Through witness statements, the officers learned that the suspects appeared to have thrown items into the surrounding woodlands. Suspicious that the suspects were attempting to conceal narcotics, they confronted Amyia before bringing in their secret weapon. Hey. Um, what did y'all throw in the woods over here? >> I swear to God, I didn't throw nothing. >> I didn't see nothing get thrown in the woods. Nobody. >> Anybody throw anything in there? >> I do not know. Like I said, when park ho down in the middle of the road, they got they seen me. I got in the car. Like I said, >> who came over here to the woods? You remember? >> What do you mean the woods? >> Somebody came over the woods and threw something. I guess according to witnesses, >> sir. >> I know. I'm just asking. I'm asking you. >> I do not know who threw nothing. I did not see nobody threw nothing. >> All right. Give me a second. All right. Okay. Do we have any charge on her? >> On her? Probably not. We were waiting cuz they said somebody threw something in the woods. We're seeing >> supposedly the p the witness said it was the kid in the white shirt >> that threw something in the woods, >> but he it was closer to the corner. >> We'll go check. >> He said he swore he saw something in his hand and then it went in his hand when he went across the street. That's what he said. >> I don't know what he threw. He must have thrown something. >> Although several vehicles were destroyed in the crash, in the end, everyone was lucky to be alive. While most drivers do their best to keep the road safe, there are ones who don't care at all. But their recklessness has consequences. And when dumb drivers put others at risk, we can count on cops to confront them.
