one. >> Okay. Do you have any receipts? >> Uh, yeah. I have a few of them in my life. >> Many shoplifterss believe that as long as they ditch the stolen items before walking out the door, they're suddenly innocent. >> We can. >> They play dumb, give fake names, even resist. >> No. I don't want to be let GO TO >> YOU'RE ALSO GOING to be arrested. But the moment police show up, that false confidence disappears instantly. >> Oh, I did not [snorts] I did not know this was in here. I swear to God, I didn't because somebody else paid for my stuff. Can I please pay for it, please? Please. No, I didn't. I didn't. Somebody else paid for it. >> This is the moment when shoplifterss realize that a single impulsive decision can trigger a chain of consequences they never saw coming. Is there some alternate universe where as long as you haven't stepped outside the store, stuffing half the place into your bag and ditching it when you spot the cops still counts as not a crime? What do you think? On March 14th, 2024, two women attempted what they clearly believed was the heist of the century at a department store. When officers surrounded them, they immediately argued that simply holding the merchandise without leaving the building meant they were completely innocent. Here's what happened next. I don't give anything. >> Don't reach for it. Oh, I'm sorry. >> Got a lot going on. You got one just so we >> But we didn't take nothing. >> You attempted to take stuff and then you went back into the store and didn't change. >> We didn't though. We had stuff in our hand. We never left out. We >> This lady was on that was on the phone with the asset prevention guy. They said they even got you on camera. Okay. So, all this stuff that you'll be able to see to Okay. We didn't just show up here out of nowhere, if you know what I mean. >> Yeah. >> So, there's a lot of questions we got to answer. Have you, you know, have you been arrested before retail? >> Yes, we have. >> Okay. Have you been arrested before? >> Everybody still needs to see that. Exactly. >> I know. I know that the lost protection agent wants her. >> She does have so I have to figure out what she figure out. Okay. >> Log the known subject with the orange hair registered on her that >> you didn't successfully take. >> Oh, that's so irritating. We have >> We're just going to take her. I'll identify her and then I'll meet up with you guys in a second. Okay. >> You're going to take her laser. >> Okay. Hey, this is the stuff they initially pushed out. >> Uh, yeah, they can still in their bags. >> Okay. >> Perfect. Uh, anyone else with them that you know of? >> Just the two that I saw. >> Um, could you uh make a receipt on this of how much? Like this. >> You want it combined? Otherwise, I can try to figure out like unfortunately that one um I don't have I didn't have someone on camera. >> They put one in orange. She had consumed on camera. >> She consumed. Okay. She did not though. >> Uh she had stuff concealed in her bag, too. I just unfortunately >> don't know which one. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, we know though that she for surely >> Yes. >> stole. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Cuz like I know she was walking around with these. >> Okay. >> For a little bit and then I think >> you said we're 100% that she concealed. >> Concealed cuz she had the Nike things. I think she had socks. We're just not sure what all because they brought the stuff back in and we found it all. >> So I say we just do a combine tour together >> and for both of them. >> Yeah. Well, they pushed it out. So, >> right out. >> One of them even asked almost innocently why she was being arrested despite cameras recording them stuffing items into bags and then frantically tossing everything back once they saw law enforcement approaching. A level of honesty that's oddly selective. people are >> if you just want to do the full search here and let me move. >> I appreciate your cooperation, man. We'll get through this. >> We're as decent with you as you are with us. >> So, we're going to pull the squat up so you don't have to walk in the rain. >> I'm going to put you in a nice dry, heated squad, and we're just going to figure this out. Okay. So, I'm just going to follow everything that we're expected to do. Check that. She already same for everybody. Same for everything that put you in the squad and that's just going to go with us. >> Okay. >> I'll put in the front with us and stay with us. >> Okay. >> So, one quickie just for before we put you in the squad. Go ahead. Separate your feet for me. Y We just don't know yet. Same thing. >> Okay. Cuz we did not leave out the store with nothing. We had stuff in our hand, but we did not leave out with nothing. >> Don't look at the videos. We're kind of going by what we have. >> I cannot be doing this stuff. Like, no. So, yeah. Can I like I'm so irritated. Like, this is so Yeah. Yeah. We'll let you as soon as we can. We'll let you use the phone. >> Okay. Please. >> Yep. >> Yeah. We just got to figure this out. >> And some if you have the rest of the district, does she go with us? >> Uh, it just depends on Yeah. So, if if if she's not arrested, you are. She can't stay with you then, >> right? Yeah, I understand. >> Well, we'll figure it out. >> Okay. >> Okay. And like I said, as soon as we know things, we'll let you know. You're being decent. I appreciate it. So, I'll just let you know everything I know. But I'm going to hang out with you until we figure it out. To understand the scale of this operation, let's look at the luxurious items they were after. No diamonds, no gold, just baby socks, a sippy cup, a Paw Patrol pajama set, and a handful of children's onesies. The noteworthy part is that one of them was pregnant, apparently believing her child deserved a stylish start in life by way of secondhand theft. >> This is ridiculous. >> I'm getting picked up, too. >> So, when So, what's going on? I'm going to go to the seat. >> Well, how much you know how much you guys do? >> Okay, there you go. That's your answer. We're going to go to properties. Go to county. >> The jail. I'm pregnant, too. So, can you please note how long are you >> 15 weeks? >> I don't know why. So, can you explain to me again cuz I don't know why I'm being arrested right now. >> Because you put items in your purse. >> No wor too. >> This is ridiculous. >> Whenever you can, officer. >> Yes. I guess uh for prior um retail thefts and we'll kind of figure out >> 14. >> However many times you been arrested prior for retail theft is going to play. >> What's going to happen? >> I don't know what they are. >> So they think I'm taking I thought I was taking them. >> Okay. >> I don't know who was taking what but I just know >> I don't. >> I got it. >> Okay. We don't have no like if it should be on camera if that's see if that's what y'all got to call about. Y'all should see exactly what's going on. >> I can't call you standing. That's just something that they require us to do cuz believe it or not, people intentionally fall over an anti push. What happened? [music] We getting accused cuz I didn't take >> this is ridiculous. I got no people. So, what's going on, sir? >> Huh? >> What's going on? >> We're organizing stuff. We're figuring out what we're going to do with the car. You're going to get you in a squad here and then probably going to jail. Okay. >> I'm going to jail. >> Mhm. >> Why? >> For retail theft. >> Why am I going to jail? I didn't take nothing. >> For a retail theft, we already Okay. >> Jail. >> Jail? Yeah. Walk County Jail. Okay. >> Why? >> Because you committed a crime. >> No, I didn't, bro. So, I got to go to jail. >> Sounds like it. Oh, what? >> So, even if you don't look and then this even if you don't leave with the merchandise theoretically, I'm not accusing you anything. I don't know what happened either. >> But if it's not on camera that I took anything, then what's going on? >> They trying to take us to jail. We didn't take >> If you attempt to leave, that's still a crime. Okay. Even if you don't take it outside, who are you? >> I need you to wait outside for me. Okay. Not right now. I need you outside for me. One more. Hey, got hurt in the car. Come on. We need the gift today. So, her sister is on scene in the front. I instruct her to exit. She's like speaking to an officer. This hurting me now. I really don't know what I'm going to do. >> What's your sister's name? >> Why? Just cuz she's here. What's her first name? >> I don't know if she wants to know this, but just her first name. I just need to talk to her. To add some cinematic flare, a getaway driver was waiting outside in a parked car. And once in the patrol unit, one of the women complained about curious bystanders staring and stressed about having to work later. Clearly, her job was far more pressing than explaining why she was caught with unpaid merchandise. >> Hi. So, how about I'm going to jail? We're going to determine that where we're going. Can you let me know something? Y squad. Separate your feet wide apart. I got to search you again. >> Why though? >> Cuz I don't know what I really want to know. Why? German. on the other side and feeding the seat belt. Oh, ma'am, where can I execute? I'm talking just a little. So ma'am >> when she when she knows she'll let you know >> her teeth come here I'm going >> that's too tight. >> After all the denials and claims of innocence the facts stayed the same. One suspect walked away with a $140 court debt, while the other had her charges reduced to disorderly conduct, but still had legal procedures ahead of her. In the end, taking items without paying carries real consequences, respecting property and following the rules will always be the safer and more responsible choice. Have you ever seen someone who not only refuses to swipe a card, but uses a method that sends the whole store into alert mode? Is that innovation or just a fast track to trouble? On March 24th, 2024, a woman equipped herself with a lighter to deal with security tags and price labels on items she wanted. In her world, removing physical barriers seemed like the fastest way to claim ownership of a handbag and a scarf. >> So, she finds this item. That would be great. >> Okay. So, she did conceal something >> and she was burning. >> Okay, ma'am. Stop. You're not free to leave. >> Okay. Were you burning tags off items? >> No. >> No. Okay. Did you pay for any of the items here? >> Uh, yeah. All my stuff is paid for. >> Okay. Do you have a receipt? >> Uh, yeah. I have a few of them in my Bible. >> Okay. If you can grab the receipt out. >> I got my receipts in my Bible, which is fine. >> When officers asked for a receipt, she confidently announced that it was tucked somewhere inside her Bible. A fascinating blend of spirituality and retail. Unfortunately, not even divine intervention could locate a receipt for items whose tags had just been burned off moments earlier. >> That's what I have. >> The receipt for Burlington here. >> Oh, no. No receipts here. >> Did you take anything? >> No. >> Okay. The employee said that you took something. You were burning price tags or security ties off items. >> Well, I don't took something. >> Okay. Are you willing to show me what's in your bag? >> Well, you can look for my bag. >> Okay. Okay. Well, I'm asking you if you have anything in there that belongs to Burlington. >> I guess I don't know cuz I don't sleep. >> Okay. >> Matt, do you hand Watch your >> What exactly was the item? The It was a handbag and then my associate. >> What's that? >> Okay. >> Nothing. >> You don't want to tell me. >> Scarf and a handbag. >> Cuz the ticket that I had was a handbag. >> Okay. Do you know where she put Did she put it in the bag? >> Yeah, it should be in her stuff. They're saying you have a scarf and a handbag. >> Is it this handbag right here? >> I guess. I don't know. >> You don't know whose bag is the black bag? >> I don't know. >> It's not yours? >> No. >> Ask her if she had any of it. Have you? >> Yeah. There's a black handbag. We're still asking about the scarf. She didn't leave the store. So, do you want to press charges for >> attempted theft, which would be kind of hard cuz she hasn't left. But >> it's fine. We just trespass. Just trespass. Get her out of here. >> No, I'm going to go pay for it. >> You're going to go pay for it? Okay. How'd you end up over here? Cuz the cash registers are over there. >> I know. I don't know. >> It's craziest thing, huh? >> Deal. >> Yeah. Okay. >> No, no, no. You're staying right here. >> I don't. No. >> Okay, ma'am. Here's the deal. You're being >> I don't want to pay for >> You have a way to pay for the scarf? >> Yeah. >> Okay. If you want to go pay for the scarf, you need to do that. You're being trespassed. >> Okay. >> So, you need to either give the scarf back or you can go pay for it if you want to keep it, but you can't come back here. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to fill out a piece of paper. You can wait for your copy of the piece of paper or not. But if you come back within the next year, you could be arrested. Okay. >> Oh, okay. I'm going to go pay for >> Okay, go pay for that. And then >> she's a bag. >> I wish I'd said to her though, like if you just give me that back, you can we'll just trespass you and you can be cuz now we're standing here. >> Is she acting like she's actually going to Okay, I'll go let her know. She needs to pay for that. >> Both store staff and officers showed remarkable patience, offering her a final choice. Either pay for the items or leave and never return. Instead, she chose a more creative option. Entering the checkout line, stepping out, then stepping back in like rehearsing for a fashion show where she was the only model. >> Hey, ma'am. You need me to pay for your items and >> I am going to go pay for it. >> Okay. You're going the wrong way. You got to go that way. >> I'm going to leave. >> Okay. Well, you need to pay for your stuff and need to leave. >> I will talk about here. >> And she won't give a name. Oh, this is weird. >> Oh, now we're out of line. >> Where'd she go? Okay, I'm done. >> Okay, ma'am. You need to leave. >> I gave you plenty of time to pay for >> I need the items back. >> Well, I would like to pay for my earrings. >> It's too late. I gave you plenty of time to get into the line. >> I did get into the line. >> Yeah. And then you kept leaving. So, you need to leave right now. No idea. >> You need to leave. Give me the merch. [ __ ] help. I don't want to leave. I go my story. >> I'm sorry. Please. I don't care. >> I didn't want Please. Please go. Please. I don't want to go. I'm sorry. >> Stop. Please stop. Don't let me go. Please. Please let me go. >> Stop. Please stop. Please don't arrest. I don't want to be arrested. Stop resisting. >> You're going to make this worse for yourself. >> Please let me go. >> Start cooperating. >> I don't want to go to Egypt. >> In a moment of panic, she suddenly shouted that she wanted to go to Egypt. Apparently mixing up the local jail with a pyramid tour. Once placed in the patrol car, she began kicking the door repeatedly despite warnings that damaging public property could lead to additional charges. >> Please stop. I have my money. Please, please, please stop taking my money, stupid, please let me go. >> We'll keep your stuff. >> We'll keep YOUR >> NO, YOU'RE NOT TAKING MY MONEY. >> PLEASE. >> I'm sorry. I was short. I don't want you in custody. I have a place to be. >> Yes, you did. And I did comply. Sorry. >> You got in line when you said you were going to and then you got out. >> I didn't. >> You had your chance and now you're under arrest. >> Mom, could you please take me home? >> She's under arrest for assault. I don't want to be under arrest. Put her in the hood right now. >> Mom, stop doing this to me. Please. This is my footstep part. I just want >> grab all your stuff. >> Okay. >> I'm going to need you. Hey, what's your first killing you? >> Okay. Well, I need you to relax before this process goes. Okay. >> We'll take I Hey, we're take your sod. I hate God's speech. This person cut my son up in the [ __ ] pieces. doing well. It wasn't doing bothering anybody or something like that. >> So I guess >> Well, the store didn't want you there. >> Yeah. And that's legal. I tried to I just went around the corner because I just needed a break. >> No, you're not taking that out my head. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Calm down. RUN. [screaming] >> She's got >> Hello. >> Yeah, I can hear you. >> No, I just my stuff. I'm going to tighten this one a little bit. >> Yes, because >> Sit down. It's >> fine. Just sit down. >> No, you're not fine. >> Okay, get your link to the car. I'm not going to ask you again. >> No, I didn't. >> All right, I got to read you something. >> I don't want to read. No, >> too bad. I have to read IT TO YOU. A [screaming] JUMP FIRE [screaming] RUN. [screaming] Do [screaming] you have any questions as to what's going on? >> All right. Well, it's not going to be productive today. Just even if she's just screaming at YOU NOW, ANYTHING [screaming] >> YOU HAVE $2 IN YOUR PROPERTY. OKAY. >> I feel sorry for whoever has to take her to jail. >> Huh? She's kicking the door. >> What would opening the window do? >> Prevent it from breaking. >> Julia, if you keep kicking the door and you break anything, you're also going TO BE ARRESTED FOR DESTROYING PROPERTY. DO you understand me, >> Julia? Do you understand me? If you keep kicking the door and you break something, not only are you going to arrest for trespassing or felony or warrant, you're also getting arrested for property destruction of city property. >> Oh, but I don't want to break stuff. >> Then stop kicking the door. >> I just want to go back home. >> Okay. Okay. We're not touching you right now. >> If you keep kicking stuff, we'll have to touch you and put you in what we call the wrap. >> What is that? >> It's basically a straight jacket for a person. >> Oh, I don't know. >> So, if you don't want that to happen, stop kicking our door. >> Okay. And I and I don't want people talking to me. >> You don't want people talking to you? >> Then don't kick [ __ ] >> I want kicking. >> Okay. >> With her continued yelling and kicking, officers finally decided to provide her with a specialized outfit known as the wrap. A full body restraint paired with a very practical helmet. >> Are you threatening to hurt my officer? >> No. >> I did one of >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Well, don't threaten my people. I don't bring your people. Your people have been very good AT WAG'S not going to be happy. >> No. >> Julia. >> Julia. When you get to the jail, if you act like >> Hey, JULIA. >> I WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED UNDER my marine. >> Sounds like something happened a long time ago. >> No. >> I'll be transporting you to jail today. >> Do you want to go like that? >> Yeah. >> Or do you want to go wrapped up like a child? >> Honestly, I think we should just grab just [ __ ] it. >> Yeah. Yeah. I think so, too. I think I think we're going to wrap her. >> Well, she loves me. So, >> okay. >> Do we have the wrap ready? >> Yeah. Where is it? >> It's You want to also put an ankle strap on her before we get her out? Probably be easier to get her out that way, too. Give me your feet. >> Give me your feet. >> Please. What are you doing to me? What are you doing to me? What are you doing? Please do it to me. What are you doing to me? What are you doing to me? Pos. What are you doing, please? What are you doing? >> Let's do face down. It'll be easier to easier to grow up. >> No, I don't know what. >> Stand up. >> Okay. What is it? >> Okay. Lower down in prone. Nice and slow. >> What is it? >> Just lay down. All right. >> What is it? >> What's happening now? >> Roll her over. We're going to roll you over. >> What's happening now? >> Rolling you over. We're going to have you We're going to help you sit up. Okay. >> What's happening now? What's happening now? What is it for? >> So, what's the key to >> Julia? This is to keep you safe and to keep us safe. Okay. >> Why? >> What are you doing now? What is it? >> My helmet on you. Your head. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, >> LINDSAY? I think this side needs to be tighter. Yeah. >> Push it forward and make sure that's tight. >> What does that hurt? >> So you don't hurt yourself. >> Oh, I see. Why? >> Yeah, it's it's cushioned. I don't want you to hit your head. >> I'm scared. >> That's good. >> Yep. >> And so what does this do? >> Keeps you safe. >> Okay. I don't know. I don't know what just said. >> In the end, she faced charges of criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and an active warrant. A key takeaway here is that using a Bible as a shield for unpaid merchandise doesn't change the situation, and ending up restrained in the wrap with a police helmet is never a desirable outcome. The safer and simpler choice is still the same one everyone else makes every day. Wait in line and pay for your items. If you think shopping requires money, you might be a little outdated. Just take a look at a recent incident at Target where one woman seemed convinced that all she needed was a briefcase of selective memory and a spacious handbag to claim the world as her own. On January 21st, 2025, officers had an unexpected reunion with a familiar face at a Target store. They reminded her that she had already been trespassed weeks earlier for shoplifting, but her explanation was surprisingly confident. She claims she never knew she was banned because she ran out of the store so quickly that officers didn't have time to tell her. >> Oh, you scared me. >> It's all good. How you doing? >> I'm good. >> You got ID on you? >> No, sir. >> No. >> What' I do? >> What' I do? >> Um, so I believe you had a previous incident a couple weeks ago where you ran out of the store with where you attempted to run it. >> So I had trespassed you that day. >> No, you didn't. No, I don't. No, you didn't. >> I did trespass you. No, I I wasn't I didn't talk to anybody or anything. >> I had trespassed that day and I told you you were trespassing. >> No, but you didn't tell me anything though that day. I promise you. >> I tried to tell you, but you ran out the door and then you left, so I couldn't even get a chance to speak to you. >> So, you're trespassing me now? I'm trying to get home to my five kids. I lost my phone. Is that okay? >> Yeah, it's okay. But you you got to wait one second. What's your name and date? >> You're freaking me out. Oh, my bug is over there. I'm trying to find my phone. I lost it in the store. You >> have anything in the car? That's not for >> No, sir. No, no, no. You can check that. I got the receipt. It's in the guard. I lost my phone in here somewhere. >> I I don't remember you doing saying I promise you I don't. I remember. >> Do you remember me stopping here? >> No, I really don't. Like I don't remember. >> That's why I don't know if it was me. >> You do want to borrow her? >> Yeah, we're going to get her. >> How long do you want her bar for? >> 2 years. >> 2 years. You know what that means? >> That's fine. >> 2 years. >> Am I still able to find my phone though? My kids are trying to get in touch with me. Uh, that's that's up to you. >> Can I look for my phone? I'm trying to get them to call from here. You can walk with me, please. It's my phone. I just got They're trying to call us. >> Hey, now we'll call. We'll walk back. >> Please. That's all I want. >> Hang out for a little bit. See what we can come out with. >> Or I mean, I would rather just stay in here while y'all y'all do it. When she was found with a bag full of cosmetics and unpaid merchandise, she unveiled what could be called the miracle parking lot theory. She insisted that she regularly picks things up in the parking lot and tosses them into her bag. From makeup to a roommate's pill bottle, one officer couldn't help asking, baffled. Why would you take ibuprofen you found in a dirty parking lot? Maybe she was conducting her own microbiology research. [clears throat] >> Oh, no. Yeah. Yeah. I brought it up, too. I got a jacket in here. This I found in the parking lot. This this this Oh, I did not I did not know this was in here. I swear to God I didn't because somebody else paid for my stuff. Can I please pay for it, please? Please. No, I didn't. I didn't. Somebody else paid for Can I please pay for it? I have the money. I have the money. >> I have the money. Please. Please don't lock me up. I didn't know. Please don't lock me up, sir. >> Here is all that's in there. >> No worries, man. We'll get it. >> Please don't lock me up. I'm sorry. >> I didn't know it was in there. I swear I didn't know. Please don't. Please don't lock me up. >> Please don't lock me up. Please. I didn't know. Sorry. Please. Here. Please don't lock me up here. That's all that's in there. I promise. I got my phone, my paperwork in here. That's it. Look, you can make up. There's my ticket from the other day crossing the road. Sorry, I need that receipt from today. >> It's in the bags, guys. >> And these bags, look, there was two bags that were in there that I got from the hotel that I stay at. So, there's a couple of makeup bags that were in there. I promise. And that that's my roommate's uh pill bottle, please. >> That was in the parking lot with that. >> I promise. I promise you can search for me. Like I promise. [laughter] >> I promise you can search me. Like I promise it's not mine. >> Oh, my phone's in my back pocket. >> What do you know? >> Good job. >> That wasn't mine. That's not mine. I promise it's not mine. >> That's in all of your bags. I mean, >> no, these bags. I told you I found it outside. >> Little rock. >> Okay. >> It's not mine, though. Y'all, please don't lock me up. >> Okay. >> Please don't lock me up. I'm begging you not to. Please. >> Just calm down. Calm down. You need to calm down for real. >> Huh? >> Just calm down. >> No, cuz I don't want to lose my kids. Please don't lock me up. >> Please don't lock me up. >> Please don't lock me up, guys. Please. Stop. >> It's not It's not the end of the world. >> It is because I'm going to lose my kids. >> You can't be doing this around the kids anyway. >> So, you're going to take me to jail. >> Looking like it. >> Please don't take me to jail. Please don't take me to jail. Please don't take me. >> This is got to stop. >> Please don't take me to jail. Please don't take me to jail. Don't take me to jail. >> I mean, >> that's my roommate. That's not Bill about whatever that is. >> Please don't take me to jail. Please don't take it. >> I think you said that more than once. >> My kids, >> we're going to try to decide what we're doing from here. So, we need to see what all we got here. >> As the situation escalated, she cried about losing her phone and being unable to contact her five children, putting on a performance that was nearly convincing. Only minutes later, the missing phone magically reappeared in her back pocket. And she reacted as if she had no idea how it got there. >> So, this isn't your straw either. >> No, I'm saying no. You got those bags. I'm just trying to I don't want to go to jail. >> Listen, this is a big thing. Like, we we I do this for 12 hours a day. >> I understand that, okay? It's a strong I don't like being lied to. >> I'm not trying to lie to you. Why do you have so much stuff in your purse? It's not in like a bottle or something. >> Cuz honestly, like from where I found from where I was at between eggs, I just find stuff out there in a parking lot. I just throw it in there. >> No, seriously. Like I really do like. >> So, no. What I'm saying is you got ibuprofen in here. Do you take ibuprofen? >> Yes, sir. I take >> So, why would you take ibuprofen that's in a bag with all the stuff that you pick up in a parking lot and throw in a bag? >> Yep. [clears throat] Huh? >> Why would you have ibuprofen in here that you take >> and then throw all the bunch of stuff that you pick up in a parking lot? >> I don't know. Cuz I I mean I've dumped when I was homeless. I would dump your diet and stuff. >> But that makes no sense. You wouldn't want to take pills that have been in a p a purse with a bunch of nasty things that were found in a parking lot. >> Right. I'm sorry. >> I'm just saying that that doesn't make sense, right? >> No. So, you're taking me to jail? >> Yeah, we're taking you to jail. Why? Can I please smoke a cigarette? Please, >> please. >> You're going to have to ask that man very very cigarette, please. Sir, >> I'm being rude. I don't smoke. So, >> please. I'm begging you. Please. Like, >> I feel like I'm like I'm seriously going to have a nervous break. Oh, please. Can I please smoke a cigarette? Please. I'm begging you. Please, sir. Please. Please. Please. Please. Stand up. Turn around. Hands behind your back. >> Can I please smoke a cigarette, please? >> You got another straw, won't you? >> No, that one's not. There's nothing in that one. That's really just one of my kids drinking straws. And there's nothing on those boils at all. You can check them here with my hat. Here. There's mess around. This is where I had food in it. Can I please smoke a cigarette, sir? Please. >> Okay, so >> there's just had food for my kids. Can I please please >> go ahead and empty your pockets. Take everything out your pockets. In my pocket, take up her money, my clothes. Please don't sit right on me. >> Please. Here. Please. Please. I'm begging you. Please. My phone. I didn't know it was stuck down in here. Ro, I had no idea it slipped down in my pants. >> Confronted with handcuffs and the possibility of jail, she shifted to a desperate plea for mercy. She played the five children card. But her real priority soon became clear. Instead of asking about an attorney or her kids, she repeatedly begged, "Please, just let me smoke a cigarette. >> Please smoke a cigarette. Please be please, sir. Please." >> You got to stop. >> Oh, be quiet. I promise. Please. Can I please everybody put me in? Please, sir. >> Please put your hands on please. Sir, please. Please, will you please let me swim? Please. >> You know, put handcuffs on. >> I'm asking you please. >> I know. >> Please, please, please, sir. Please, please, sir. Please please be please. You're not going to let me even though I'm cooperating cooperating. >> What about lunch? >> In the end, she was charged with theft of property in criminal trespass. If there's a lesson here, it's that someone can claim they're cooperating, even while being caught lying about the origin of everything in their bag. And as long as they don't resist while being handcuffed, they may feel entitled to demand release, food, and cigarettes as a reward for good behavior after being caught.
