Have you ever wondered how far the line is between a clumsy excuse and a criminal conviction? Or put your hands behind your back. >> I want to smoke a cigarette behind your back. I want >> or whether even the strangest conspiracy theories can protect you from surveillance cameras that never stop recording. Do >> you have proof that you paid for them? >> Yeah, I certainly do. >> Where is it? >> I sent my mom's credit card statement. Count them up. I bought them. I bought them. Yeah, I got two receipts. These are the moments shoplifterss realize that no excuse can stand up to body cam footage. What would you do if police caught you with a bag full of unpaid food, but you insisted it all came from a homeless camp and needed protection from raccoons? >> Don't let me throw anything in here that don't look like it's yours. You already went over this direction. >> Yeah, these are all mine. Okay. >> Yep. This is all my stuff, >> man. You better keep your cousin under control, man. >> Oh my god. We all cousins in here. All right, I'll come right back. I'll be right back. >> On February 20th, 2023, officers responded to a reported theft and assault at a convenience store. They quickly located a woman near a wooded area where she immediately claimed she was actually the victim. >> I see you. Come out. I'll release the dog. You're going to get bit. Come out now. Right. Turn me. Walk out towards me right now. >> Get up. 228. I got that subject out. >> I didn't do anything. >> This lady attacked me like >> come up here in front of my car. >> I can't see your wooden tow. Put the phone down. >> I'ming homeless and I carry all my cuz of raccoons. >> Put the phone down. Don't know. Put your hands behind your back. >> I didn't. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Are you serious, sir? >> Yeah. Until I figure out what's going on. Absolutely. >> How is that fair? >> Well, I got a bunch of people just described you perfectly saying that you did. >> Because I had food in my I had a bag full of food. So, >> we're going to figure that out, aren't we? >> The thing I told him I there's really bad raccoons. I have to bring food everywhere. >> Okay. The suspect claimed the food came from a homeless camp and said she carried it around to keep raccoons from stealing it. >> I was in the store and because I was in there for a while, like I'm just indecisive and I have a lot on my mind obviously like they tried saying that I stole food because I had food in my bag. But right now I'm homeless and there's really bad raccoons. So everywhere I go I bring all my food with me. >> Okay. So you're not going to the store on video calling the food thing in your bag and trying to store? >> No. and not getting physical with any of them police. >> I didn't get physical. They put their hands on me. I told them get their hands off of me. Like they're not allowed to touch me. I didn't do anything to them. I was in the store and she said I was in there for 45 minutes. I'm like, "Okay." I didn't know that was illegal. Like I was just zoning looking at stuff like trying to keep my mind off of things cuz I have a lot on my mind right now obviously. Like shit's [ __ ] up. >> Yeah. >> And so I had a a basket that had stuff in it. And I set it down before I walked out because I realized I didn't have my wallet. Like so he was coming from work to meet me and bring me money. And when I walked out, she grabbed me and grabbed my bag and wasn't like was screaming at me. And um because I have food in my bag because I'm right now I'm homeless. So and there's bad raccoons. So, every time I leave to go anywhere, I have to bring all the food with me. So, I had food in my bag. >> Okay. So, we're not going to see you on camera taking any food and anything like that. And I'm not going to walk in the woods right where I found you and find food laying there on the ground that's theirs. >> No. >> Is that kind of like a You don't want to say Yeah. But those >> Okay. Employees told police they had watched her hide merchandise inside her bag for nearly 45 minutes before trying to leave without paying. So >> all of this came out of the store. >> Yep. All that was in her bag. And then this right here. So >> in her black bag. >> In her black bag. So this one and that was on each side of the pocket. >> Right. >> What was on each side of the pocket? >> So this and that. Those two was on each side of the pocket, but everything else was already inside. But there were >> You say the pocket? The pocket of what? Her pockets. >> Her bag. Her bag. She had like a back. >> Oh, backpack pockets on the outside. Okay. >> It's like a duffel bag. So she started putting these in her bag. >> So these are in the bag cuz they were watching cuz she was in the store for 45 minutes. So then they're like, "We got to watch her because she's been out there." So I start picking up. So I'm walking the aisle and I start seeing stuff. So I'm picking up stuff and I see she's picking up more stuff and making piles. So I start taking piles away. So I'm like, "Okay." I went and grabbed a basket. I said, "Hey, you can use a basket, you know, so that you don't have to do all that." >> I didn't think nothing, you know, I didn't want to accuse or whatever. So then she grabbed the basket. She start getting more stuff watching her and then I move the phone ring. I pick up the phone and that's when she come outside trying to get in the B. I said, "No, no, no." I said, "You can't. You got to come inside pay for your stuff." And she said, "What stuff?" I said, "The stuff that you steal." She's like, "I didn't steal anything. I'm homeless." I said, "That don't give you the right to steal." >> You know, so then I was like, "No, you got to come inside or if you don't want to pay for it, you got to give me the stuff." >> And that's when she start fighting. She's like, "No, it's my stuff. I come inside. I said, "No, this is all rac track stuff." >> Yeah. >> This is all racetrack stuff. So you can't tell me those are your stuff. You come inside with them. No, this is all rac track stuff. >> Sure. [laughter] >> And the juice. >> Yeah. And the fruit. >> The cold juice. >> Yes. >> And the ice. >> The ice cream. >> I wonder where she plugs her refrigerator in if she's homeless. >> There you go. That >> in the woods. >> Yeah. They got the plug and trees. >> It's okay if you're homeless, but it's not okay to still if Hey, I'm hungry. You cannot get something to I'll give it to you. >> Come in and tell me it's not it's not my stuff. >> Is there any way you can >> sir? I'd like to add something to this. >> Sure. >> There was a guy riding around on a bicycle. >> No shirt on, >> fatigues, >> a hat that was green, too. >> He met me down there. Yeah. He was on the phone. I'm taking with her trying to tell her that I was on to her about to catch her. I think cuz >> And I think they were probably together cuz he left. Then he came back when this when she walked out and he threatened me. >> Yeah. >> He's gonna beat me up and I said, "You know what? He's got a knife on him, too." >> Okay. >> All right. >> No worries. >> Okay. Now, is there any way also all of this the chargers too or some of >> Well, not the 7-Eleven stuff. The chargers. I don't know anything about the chargers, but these things right here. >> This pile here. And what's in this bag, too? >> What's in the bag? Yeah. I thought about, you know, tackling it or something and I figured >> Yeah. It's just not worth it. Not worth it nowadays. >> Don't let me throw anything in here. Don't look like it's yours. You already went over this direction. >> Yeah. These are all mine. >> Okay. >> Yep. This is all my stuff. >> Man, you better keep your cousin under control, man. Oh my god. >> We all cousins in here. All right, I'll come right back. I'll be right back. >> All righty. >> I I'm curious. What the hell is that thing that >> You don't want to know. You don't want to know. >> Is that a dildo? >> Yep. That's exactly what I said to Tyler. I'm like, "Is that?" He goes, "Yeah, >> that's what came out of her bag." So, >> this big black bag here. >> Yes. >> I found the black bag in the middle of the woods. >> Yeah. She I saw it when she was back there where she was crouched down and she got up. She left it back there. I don't know if it had anything else in it or whatever. Um, she's going to get me an itemized receipt for all the property there. She was able to pick out everything. This girl was saying that, "Oh, I had it obviously before I went in there and go, huh, you're homeless, but yet this drink's still cold. Where do you keep the fridge?" >> Okay, Bob. >> All right. So, that stuff you're saying, you walked in with that and your bag. >> Yes, sir. I have food with me cuz I can't I have to >> Where did you bring the food from? You're wherever you're staying? Yeah, I have to carry it with me because there's really bad raccoons. So, you can't leave any food. >> And all of that was with you. Yeah. >> Okay. >> No. >> And where are you staying at? Where's your camp? >> Like I said, some of the stuff like that she brought out that was in the basket like wasn't even in my stuff. Like it was I left it inside. I didn't because >> Okay. I had the basket with some stuff in it and um I realized I didn't have my wallet so he was coming to bring money so I sat it down by like by the thing and walked out and I didn't walk out with that basket. >> You walked out with your black bag? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you brought the items from your black bag from your camp. Is it around here? Is it outside? Yeah. Okay. Her story quickly collapsed when officers found cold drinks and refrigerated items still ice cold inside the bag. >> So those cold drink bottles that were in your bag, how are they still cold if they were out in the camp? >> It was my um um he had given them to me when I went to his work cuz he works right by here. >> Thought you just told me though everything you brought in the bag was from your camp. Is it? Well, it was okay. >> So, there's a lot of cold food items in there. That's not really making sense cuz I don't know how you're going to keep that cold refrigerator for so long. >> Okay. So, my boyfriend works. >> So, >> again, I'm I'm not trying to tell you to come up with an excuse and I'm trying to we're trying to see if we can work with you here, but >> this isn't really down the road. So, I left the camp. >> I went to his work. >> Where's his work at? >> Down the road. True. >> Where is it? down the road enterprise industrial thing. So I went to his work and saw him and um then I was coming back to the camp and I stopped here to use the bathroom and um to get like just to look around and like get to Macy really honestly. But um and then he was coming to um spend like his lunch break with me and he was about to be here and then it's 7. >> All right. >> I didn't think nothing. You know, I came in I grab a basket for her. I said, "Here you go, ma'am." I said, "Use a basket. It be easier instead of having stuff everywhere. Put stuff in your bag, you know." I said, "Take the stuff out of your bag. Just put them in here. It's easy that way." I said, "You can't walk around with bag, you know." Oh, she say, "Oh, no one ever told me that, but okay, thank you." I leave her alone. So, I'm walking around again. I see she's making more piles. I'm like, "Okay." Then she reach right there. She grabbed stuff there. I'm like, "Okay." Then I move and I'm hiding here now. So, I'm like, "Okay, let me see what she got." Now, she's behind that on the other side again. I'm like, "Okay, what she's up to." The phone ring. I went and pick up the phone and she dropped the basket right there on the side there >> and just took the >> And then she just took the bag. I mean, the bag was already in her shoulder anyway. That's her bag. >> Gotcha. was already on her shoulder with stuff in there. So, as she was leaving, I'm like, "Ah, I get." So, I opened it. I said, "No, no, no, no. You got to come back and pay for your stuff." She said, "What stuff?" So, I take the juices out, you know, try to take the juice and the Pepsi. I'm like, "These are our stuff." She's like, "No, it's not." >> And when you when you had the bag, you could see that your product was in the in the bag. Okay. >> Yep. I could see the product. I said, "No, you need to open the bag." So, I'm holding the bag. I said, "No, you need to open it. If you're not going to pay for it, you need to give it back to me." The woman was ultimately arrested on charges of retail theft, resisting, and assault after allegedly stealing food from racetrack, and fleeing into nearby woods. Police also identified a bicycle riding accomplice accused of threatening employees during the escape. Strange excuses often collapse under simple details and clear evidence. In most cases, honesty and cooperation create far fewer problems than elaborate stories that make no sense under investigation. If the raccoon food excuse at Racetrack already sounded unbelievable, the next Walmart case escalates into an even more chaotic confrontation. How would you react if while scanning items at selfch checkckout, a stranger suddenly grabbed your cart and declared you were going to jail for trespassing? Somebody said, "Somebody has green leggings on." Nobody has green leggings. >> Green leggings. >> Was there anybody else in there that y'all knew or? >> Mhm. No. Like I said, I was by myself just scanning myself and I look over and see, you know, him at the buggy >> with the gra. He was like in the buggy like this and stuff and was grabbing. I'm like, "What was that?" >> Okay. >> And then he was just like, uh, he was saying, I think he was saying you going to jail for trespassing or something. And she was like, Like, who are you? He stays smart. You going to jail for trespass. You going to jail for trespassing. >> On March 8th, 2026, officers responded to a Walmart after reports that a previously banned customer had returned to the store. While the woman yelled that she was still scanning items, an employee warned she could be arrested for trespassing. >> Um, hold on y'all. Hold on. I'mma click back in in a minute. Hold on. >> Um, so I don't really know, you know, what she was doing. We drove separate cars. I came to do some grocery shopping. Yeah, >> I guess she came to do some grocery shopping, but uh she was in the like the selfch checkout scanning her stuff or whatever and the guy just kind of walked over there >> and I had my own lane and she was in her own lane. So I was, you know, just looked over and I seen the guy like grabbing her bags and stuff out the court or whatever and um and she was like yelling telling him like, "What you grabbing my stuff for? I'm not done scanning and this and all of that." And he was like, "Well, I think he said you you going to jail for trespassing or something." And she was like, "Uh, what are you talking She like I'm not done scanning myself. So I'm like what's going on? I said you know why you not scanning yourself? What you what are you doing? Like why you didn't pay for it or whatever. >> And uh and he was just like holding the buggy and bags and I was asking another worker. I said you know well do he work here or whatever. What's going on? >> And um and they was like well yeah he do but they didn't say nothing. So you know I don't know what's going on. I'm like I don't you know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> So what there there was somebody said something about a bag of chicken getting thrown at somebody. Do you know anything about that or >> No. >> No. Okay. Um, so you were just in the checkout lane. Do you know the people over here in this car or >> Yeah, I know her. >> You know him? Okay. >> Was who was who was arguing over? Just the guy in the >> Yeah. So I I'm honestly, like I said, he was literally like I didn't know she knew him. So I just kind of got back to scanning my stuff and was like, I don't know what's going on. But he was like holding the bag. I just never seen nothing like that happening. So he was holding the bags and he was like grabbing the buggy and was like, you not going nowhere. And all of that. And she was just like, you know, what are you doing? So, I mean, he was, you know, I just feel like kind of doing too much. >> He was doing that to this girl over here. >> Yeah. >> Got it. Okay. >> Yeah. Cuz I was like, I don't know why would he do all of that. So, >> yeah. >> Seems odd, but >> it was I never seen him do nothing like that and I'm like, what's going on? >> Okay. So, you weren't involved in anything aside from just seeing what was going on and >> I don't have nothing to do with that stuff. I don't know what's going on. But like I said, I have never seen nobody, you know, like grabbing buggies and bags and stuff. So, I was confused though. >> Okay. Was he saying anything to her or is it just like >> He was just like, "You going to jail for trespassing or something?" And she was like, "I'm not even done scaring myself." She was like, "Get back." >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Fair enough. >> Yeah. >> Um, are you just going to head home now or what's the plan? Just >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. >> Like what's wrong? >> No, just just ask. Just didn't >> Look, I was going to say cuz I wasn't expecting all that happen. That's why I didn't talk about I said, "What is going on?" Police. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Is that uh Okay. So, you were the one that he was messing with. >> Yeah. He almost split my baby out that part. And I sure did. I did. >> Yeah. I just told him that. I feel like I didn't know. I ain't never seen nobody doing that cuz I was confused cuz she was scanning her stuff and he was even let me finish scanning my stuff. Then you come up to me all hostile and [ __ ] and I'm going to slip my baby out of cart. How you going to react to somebody I'm going to slip your kid out of cart? >> That's fair. >> The confrontation escalated when the woman accused staff of acting aggressively and nearly knocking her child from the shopping cart. This one >> who has who has green leggings? >> Somebody said somebody has green leggings on. Nobody has green leggings. >> Green leggings. >> Was there anybody else in there that y'all knew or? >> Mm. No. And I said I was by myself just scanning myself and I look over and seeing you know him at the buggy >> with the gra. He was like in the buggy like this and stuff and was grabbing. I'm like what was that? >> Okay. >> And then he was just like uh he was saying I think he was saying you going to jail for trespassing or something. >> Yeah. I'm saying who are you? He stays smart. You're going to jail for trespassing. You going to just trespass? I'm asking like, "Who the are you and how am I trespassing?" >> Yeah. You don't know him or anything. You never know. >> No, I never seen that man a day in my life. >> Okay, fair enough. >> Oh, Jesus. It's 12:00 though. >> It's getting a little late. >> We're going to have him look at some video or something and figure out what's going on here. Totally here. And then we'll get you guys out of here. >> Hold on. What you say? You need What do you need? I mean, cuz she didn't even get the the stuff, the buggy or whatever. >> I'm here. >> You better send us a picture. Rainbow. >> I'm trying to see why. >> Because we have reasonable suspicion that a crime was committed inside Walmart and you were involved. >> No, I wasn't involved. I wasn't involved. I wasn't Once we figure it out and dispel our reasonable suspicion, you'll be free to be on your way. Okay? Right now, you're not under arrest, but you're not free to leave. >> Like, I'm telling y'all what happened. >> Once police arrived, the suspect demanded to press charges herself, claiming employees had unlawfully touched her. >> He pressed charge on me. I'm press charge back on him. He can't touch me. So, I got the right to defend myself. So, hey. >> Well, well, here's the deal, young lady. You talking about >> Illinois law allows retailers to use reasonable force to protect their their business and their property which involves touching people. >> Right. But okay, that's the law. But >> having said that, having said that, you are free to proceed with civil litigation against Waller if you so choose. You can obtain an attorney and and >> Right. Because my thing is though, >> he never announced who he was. >> Had he would have said like >> I'm not sure he has to do that. prior. >> Even even I as the police don't really have to identify myself as a police officer when I come out to affect an arrest or take law enforcement action. >> It's certainly helpful if I do and common courtesy usually says so. But >> why would you not identify stand right here? Okay. I think we got the one if you want to bring him down standing by now. >> I'm asking a question. >> Go behind. >> Huh? >> Yeah, I guess cuz of she. I don't know, you know. >> And then he laughing and playing like it's funny and it's not funny. Like I don't find nothing funny about you. >> So go ahead and place your hands behind your back. You're under arrest. You do have a warrant for retail theft. You're also going to be arrested for uh misdemeanor battery. >> I got a one for >> uh I don't >> Is this you back or >> Yeah. Can I call some um body to come and get >> this friend able to drive or? >> No, she she don't know how to drive. I can call my she stay literally right down here. >> She right on the phone in here. >> Yeah. >> All right. We'll get something figured out here. Okay. >> How many is your phone? Anything else you need in the car? Yeah, my stuff. I need my phone. Um, >> wallet, purse, whatever. >> Yeah, my purse. I guess my to leave my keys cuz somebody have to come get my phone and stuff. >> Okay. Yeah, we'll work all that out. Okay. I'm going to have you come sit in this car here and we'll get all your stuff. >> Okay. Can I just tell my cousin to just call her mama right here? >> You talk to her real quick. Yeah. >> Going to go to jail. >> Then they talking about I got a warrant for retail theft somewhere. I don't even know where that >> Yeah, we can let you know that here in a minute. We don't have the information right now, but >> Okay. So, can I press um can I press charge on him? >> Well, I'll be looking at the video and see what'll happen, but we'll go hop in the car. Okay. >> Like that's just so weird. >> I feel you. I know it's it's frustrating >> like because like if he could have just said identify like he could have just identified him like >> Yeah. Yeah. It would have been a lot easier for How did they shine in my phone? It's like where? Dang. >> But after checking records, officers discovered she not only violated a trespass order, but also had an active warrant for retail theft. She was ultimately arrested on charges including misdemeanor battery, trespassing, and the outstanding theft warrant. What began as an argument at selfch checkckout quickly turned into a trip to jail because of prior bans, escalating behavior, and an existing warrant. If the Walmart case revolved around trespassing and chaos at selfch checkckout, the next Lowe's incident becomes even stranger as the suspect launches into bizarre conspiracy theories while confronting police. Can conspiracy theories about government surveillance really explain why thousands of dollars worth of merchandise disappeared from Lowe's without being paid for? >> I went to go and pick up some plants that I paid for. >> Okay. >> And it's just for two days now. I I initially dealt with Lowe's, went and bought a set of I don't understand why they're even taking them. >> Yeah. When did you pay for them? >> Specific ones. When did you pay for them? >> Today. When? >> Yeah. Today. Right when I got right before I went and got the trailer. >> Okay. >> On April 6th, 2022, police surrounded the home of a woman named Jennifer after she was accused of stealing a large amount of plants from Lowe's. The moment officers arrived, she immediately became confrontational. Hands up. Shut the car off. Shut the car off. Here. Step out. Step out. Over here. Over here. Over here. Put the cigarette out. >> No, I'm not. >> Put the cigarette out. Put this >> Put your hand behind your back. I'm smoking. Put your hands behind your back. >> I'm smoking a cigarette. You guys, >> put your hands behind your back. May I please >> put your hands behind your back? Put your hands behind your back. >> I want >> Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. Give me your other hand. That's all you need to do. >> Something's going on. >> Yeah. I'm just trying to s I'm >> other hand. >> I am. >> I am freaking Listen to me and tell them here at the house. >> I don't know. >> Mom, you need to tell them that I'm a targeted individual. >> You need to relax. >> 55. Let's say one more here. >> What's going on? They're following me. They're harassing me. >> What is going on? >> Mom, I'M BEING TARGETED AND SURVEILED BY A COMMUNITY. >> HERE, roll on your knees. Roll on your knees. Roll on your knees. >> Sit up. Set up. Set up. We'll talk to her in a minute. We're going to wait for her to get back to the house. >> Listen, you need to calm down. >> Calm down. >> I'm going to prison. You need TO TELL THE TRUTH. I'VE BEEN TELLING YOU, MOM. I've been telling you. >> Jennifer, please calm down. >> All right, I'll let you. >> It fell off the hell. >> Yeah, I'll have her 15 here. She was resisting here. >> I didn't resist. I just wanted to smoke a cigarette, sir. That's it. >> Your trailer fell off. >> I don't know. I don't know either. >> I don't know what the Cuz the trailer fell off. Some >> I don't know. >> That's not what this is about. WHAT IS IT ABOUT? >> We'll talk to you in a minute. Do you have anything else tucked up anywhere? Anything you brought? Anything like that? >> Okay. All right. We're going to come back over here. >> We need We'll be right back. >> Okay. Good job. >> Listen, we'll be back in just a second. Just give us a second. She have a car so she can calm down. >> All right. What are you What are you saying? You're being surveiled. What was that about? I'm just curious. Is that >> So, for the longest I've been calling and saying how I'm being stopped. >> Oh, calling us. Okay. I thought you meant right now. So, I was just making sure it's not >> No, I am. No, I am. >> Okay. I feel like I'm a part of some freaking uh Listen, it's organized crime. I am a targeted individual and I've been telling you guys that for a long time. >> Okay. All right. Just give us a second. I was just wanted to come back and talk because you mentioned and I was kind of curious what you were talking about. Somebody was following you, but it might have been us. So, okay. >> Come on. Please. >> Can you stop and be for real? You guys know what the is going on. Cut it out. >> We were not there. Take >> me. Mom, what is going on? >> Turn around. >> You did this to me. You did this to me. >> You did this to me. >> Relax. >> Get yourself worked up even more. >> YEAH, it's worth it. And you know what? If I'm going to go to jail, >> Jennifer, relax. >> They're keeping them. >> Jennifer, relax. >> That's my thank you to you, Grandpa. Okay. >> You guys are actually going toinging take those plants. They can't pay me what I already have purchased for what they've done and what they did right as I'm [ __ ] They're dumb. >> Jennifer claimed the trailer full of plants had been legally purchased using her mother's card under a contractor discount. >> Got twoing receipts. I bought them. Contractor pack. $10 a piece. Mom, get me an attorney. Keep my paperwork locked up. I'm going to need it for this one. Stupiding plants for the environment. And I get ridiculed, persecuted, raped, thrown out on the streets, and thrown on my face cuz I want to smoke a cigarette. I didn't do anything wrong. You haven't even You just detained me. >> Okay. >> Listen, these people are whacked. >> Okay. Um, do you have proof that you paid for him? >> Yeah, I certainly do. Where is it? >> I said well my mom's credit card statement. >> Where's mom? >> In the house. >> Which credit card did you use? >> Lowe's. >> Lowe's. She has a Lowe's credit card. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. >> Um, why didn't you provide them proof when they asked for proof as you were? >> Because two dudes prior to that night, I had purchased the plants late that night. Okay. >> But they said that they escorted me out. >> I don't think so. >> Okay. Yeah, cuz apparently you've been there Sunday, earlier today and then just now for this one. >> Yeah. Well, I was there in a tank top and I had two dudes approach me while I was picking plants out. >> But you said you paid for these. Yeah. >> How much was it? >> Uh, well, we get the contractor's bundle and [ __ ] And >> how much was it? Do you know? >> Uh, three something. >> All these plants were 300 bucks. >> Yep. But she was supposed to buy something else. >> Okay. But she had to go. She didn't have to do it. >> Did she Did you actually see her originally come here with flowers? >> Yeah, she purchased our stuff >> when today. >> What day did that purchase? It was yesterday Sunday maybe. >> Couple days she went back got a credit for them from what I understand. >> That's what they are saying. >> And she was supposed to pay >> for whatever she got cuz she had money. He says that you gave her a credit card for Lois today. Is that true? >> I do. Where's that card? >> They've got it. >> I told you. I told him. >> Credit card or a gift card? >> Credit card. >> Your name is on it? >> Yes, sir. >> It's a credit card. >> She didn't pay for anything with the credit card. >> Oh my god. >> Nothing at all. >> No. Well, on video, she's on here pulling up and loading all these things. >> Okay. You're okay. No. >> For this. What happened today? >> Yes. I Yes, I understand. >> I don't know. Well, we don't know fully. She's been doing other stuff all weekend. She's She's yell at staff. She's called staff the n-word. >> My My daughter, >> does she have a drug problem? >> She has got >> She got No, not >> she No, she hears voices. >> Okay. >> Uh, she's got a problem. She got a problem. >> So, whose credit card was given to her today? >> My credit. >> Your credit card? She says that your credit card was given to her. So, who's what's the truth? >> Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. She's got She's got the Lowe's card. It does not have my name on it. It says I have a Lowe's card, but it's >> I give her a Home Depot card and Lowe's card. >> Okay. And >> the Home Depot card could have my name on it. >> I don't know. I'm not dealing with Home Depot. This was a Lowe's. >> Yes. But >> it was given to her. >> What is it to to take stuff back? >> I don't know. >> And to purchase what we needed. >> Yeah. Her mother later admitted Jennifer struggled with paranoia and often believed she was being watched. >> This is what she hears voices. >> My daughter, >> she's mentally sick. >> I've been trying to talk to my daughter about things that she says and she's always talking about that people are >> following her, >> gangstalking her. I don't know what that means. >> I don't mind. >> I'm going to go figure out how much these plants are and we'll let you know in a second. I'm being told to do it. >> By who? >> The words for organized CRIME. AND IF I DON'T, I COMPLY. I get threatened. >> Okay, wipe off your tears. Take a seat. Please take a seat. Please. Just take a seat. I'm going to put a seat belt on you. All right. Turn around. Face the other way. Wait. >> All righty. I've been telling you even on THE LAST ONE I SAID LISTEN YOU GUYS are [ __ ] >> Even inside the police vehicle. Jennifer continued spinning bizarre stories and conspiracy claims. She was ultimately arrested for grand theft after the stolen merchandise exceeded $1,000 in value. Surveillance footage and transaction records quickly overpowered every excuse. Modern retail systems track far more than suspects realize, making elaborate stories and conspiracy claims almost impossible to defend against clear video evidence. If the Lowe's case was filled with paranoia and conspiracy theories, the next incident becomes even more disturbing when the person accused of theft is someone the store once trusted from the inside. Have you ever wondered how a brand new job can turn into a felony case in just 33 days? Here you go. Um, all right. So because of this, we are going to prosecute you. You understand that, right? Come back. Um, but we still need our stuff back. >> Okay. All right. >> On April 17th, 2025, Boon Beach Police responded to an investigation involving Samantha Spear, an 18-year-old Sephora employee who had worked at Kohl's for barely over a month. No, I don't. >> Huh? >> I don't know. >> Oh, no problem. >> How you doing, champ? >> Funny we see you again. This time we need you. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, we're going to go to the to the management office over there. That's where we have her. >> Okay. So, what do we have so far? So, here's I'm going to just take a picture from my record keeping and then I will give it to you. Her name is Samantha Spear. She's 18 years old. Works for Sephora. She's with us 33 days. We uh through a tip and observation were able to catch her stealing multiple items. And in the interview process while they were interviewing her, she confessed to like you know stealing almost every day the last couple weeks. >> Okay. >> Say again. >> She knows. >> Well, no. Ricky told me. >> Okay. >> Off quick math that we were doing in our head. She stole a couple thousand dollars worth of merchandise. told her to be concise because it'll helping, you know, evaluating her future with us. >> She asked, "Am I going to be fired for this? I lose the job." >> And he was like, "Well, based off your honesty, the more honest you are with us, you take that into consideration." So, >> crazy question. >> Yeah. Right. >> You guys have video. >> Yeah. We're We'll be able to provide that. >> Yeah. From what he told us. She's been doing all the stealing for her family, for her sisters, her father, her mother. >> Like Rick said, he goes, "You know, it looks like your parents, your family put you in a predicament." >> Yeah. >> Well, that's what she said. She said it was she started last, you know, a couple weeks ago small stuff and then she felt comfortable with it and then it became every day that she was working. >> Sounds a lot more like She's going to touch you from the store. I was going to be okay. I was going to say maybe just hang out for a little bit. >> What's that? >> Yes. >> You guys haven't turned her yet. Um, did you kind of head with us for a month? >> I made a copy. >> 18 years old. >> Every you guys going to prosecute? >> Yeah. >> You guys going to trespass her? >> Trespass. We don't typically do for associates unless she like she gets stupid and stands up and starts smothering everybody, but I don't think she's going to. She's an absolute mess. All right, Samantha. So, a couple things. All right. Um, certainly anytime an associate calls a loss to us, right, there's some ramifications. So, the team from Bolton Beach is here to talk to you. All right. So, there's a couple things. All right. Here you go. Um, All right. So because of this, we are going to prosecute you. You understand that, right? Come back. >> The moment she was confronted with the footage inside the manager's office, Samantha completely broke down. >> Are you willing to talk to me without the presence of an attorney? >> Okay. So, can you tell me what happened? [laughter] >> Sorry. >> Oh god. [laughter] How about we do this? Give her a little breather. >> So she clearly we're getting her closer and then we'll continue. >> Okay. >> Sounds good, man. >> Listen, Samantha. Everyone's going to treat you with respect. No one's going to yell at you. No one thinks anything. Okay, this was a mistake. But you need to stay calm for us. Okay, can we do that? Can we calm down for a little bit? >> Water. Get the uh [laughter] [crying] puncher. Listen, we're going to take out this door right here. So, just grab a patrol vehicle this way. >> I don't think you're going to take out this door. So, who told the car? >> Okay. So, I'm going get a swing statement for you cuz you're just in here. Sorry, have you raise your right hand? >> Yes, we we interviewed this associate that works for us. Um, she works in the Sephora department. >> U, we were actually doing an investigation on her today. Her name is Samantha's been with us since March the 14th of 202 um through her appointment with us. Uh, Samantha was found um to be walking out of the store with merchandise has not been paid for. Um certainly was all found through video review uh just following up on you know daily habits with our associates in our departments. Um what we found is more than four occasions um so far came in to interview certainly she admitted to many more events all happening at the end of her shift walking out of store merchandise never making a purchase. So she admitted to $1,000 so far able to provide for us today the details on you guys. I haven't reviewed video yet. >> Yeah, guys, you have video already to look at. >> Yeah, we have video >> so I could just check it out >> cuz they need to establish whether we have scheme to defraud yet or not. >> Okay, >> so they've got four dates right now. Several hundred worth of stuff. Four dates. They haven't got all the video yet. She's admitted to doing this for several more days, >> possibly two weeks, >> so find out, get his opinion. This is part of the stuff you're going to have to do when you're on your own. >> If we have the video for the fourth, we can scheme to defraud. The thing is is that anything afterwards at this point would either be in addition to or a separate thing. >> Okay. >> So, what we need to find out is what we have here today, what we can charge her with. If you guys are good after that and you're just washing your hands clean from this because she's fired. >> Well, that be the record number. >> That's a perfect answer. >> But we'll get what we can get today >> because that's probably the route that I would go. >> Yeah, I'll get back. >> Okay. >> He's going to bring his laptop. He's got everything. >> Okay. >> We want to document it just on so we can articulate everything we see and then you guys will submit the videos later. We'll send you a link. You explained this. >> We did. Yeah. He got the information. >> So then we can figure that up when we're submitting the whole packet to the state. >> Correct. back. >> Security investigators reviewed the surveillance footage. They uncovered Samantha's method. Near the end of her shifts, especially after the store had already closed at 9:00 p.m., she would begin carrying out the thefts. The footage showed Samantha walking through different Sephora sections, selecting products from the shelves, and secretly placing them into a Sephora shopping bag that had already been hidden inside her personal purse beforehand. Once finished, she calmly walked out of the store without paying for any of the items. Investigators determined this was not a one-time impulse theft, but a repeated pattern that occurred across multiple workships. Anything else on >> trans? Just turn your wrist down. Delta uniform really north. Come outside. has two shifts last time making her work. >> She was immediately fired, permanently banned from the store and charged with scheme to defraud, a felony in Florida that carries penalties of up to 5 years in prison, probation, and thousands of dollars in fines. Repeated thefts may seem minor at first, but once investigators prove a deliberate pattern, the consequences can escalate into serious felony charges.
