in today's episode we'll investigate a case of a mother who left her baby in an unlocked car in a parking lot because she was too busy playing arcade games so you left the child here while you went in there played in the arcade so the baby's been in there for over an hour another one fled from the police while intoxicated with her kids in the car there's also a mom who literally forgot she had a daughter yeah I'm sorry sorry ain't going to cut it and a couple who passed out drunk on the beach and lost their kids finally there's a case that's hard to even imagine allegations are that you have a son and that he's deceased and he's here in this house we'll start with Leticia who flipped her car over while driving drunk with three kids inside fortunately no one was hurt but the problem is that Leticia just doesn't understand what she did wrong and believes the police are bothering her for no reason she said she was fine apparently the kids were in a car seat I don't know if she's wearing her seat Bel I don't know it just literally just literally happened so I'm calling you Ashley I'm just I'm just now calling you I don't know what the do yes there's 16 cops right here no 1 2 3 neighbor was keeping her deceased son in a garbage can inside the house but that's not all the police will discover that the mother is hiding something else it was just like a regular phone call like how you been how you been doing and stuff like that and then I heard her like crying a little bit I said why what happened um and she was like hesitant to bring it out and tell me she was gone from the house and she told me that her son had shot himself she feared that they would take her kids away and she was scared to lose everything and I'm like what are you talking about and she said she still had them there she purchas she told me she purchased a burning Barrel um from Home Depot or something like that that you burn leaves and stuff in and she stored him in that I'm like what she said she tried to set him on fire you miss Staples yes how can I help you so we got kind of a weird phone call um M do you know Latricia no no I don't know anybody out here some lady called DCFS and what and kind of made some claims that you had a child that accidentally shot themselves absolutely not no it sounds crazy to me too that's what I am so sorry about this my ex-husband his new girlfriend this brought is off the chain okay I have went and put a restraining order on her what's her name uh her name is Tony this girl is never in and she has so many different Facebook pages she stalked me from she has made up different names called me from different numbers I have changed my number try to do everything I can right you guys only have girls yes okay I have four do you want to mother refused the officer's suggestion to quickly check the basement they returned the next day with a warrant to search the entire house in the middle of the basement they found a metal Barrel containing the body of the unfortunate boy who had accidentally killed himself then they needed to uncover all the details of the case but the mother made their job difficult to start with she claimed that she never even had a son can I see the warrant please and I can call my lawyer can I see the warrant before we walk any further I'm scared to death cuz I don't know what's going on and so the reason we're here okay is cuz we're investigating a call that we we had okay officers came out and talked to you last night correct yes okay um we have to handle that real seriously okay cuz the allegations are that you have a son and that he's deceased and he's here in this house okay so that's that's where we're at right now do you have a son named Zion no I don't you've never had a son named Zion no are you claiming benefits for a kid named Zion no you filed for public aid the police officer told the mother that the DCFS has information about her son Zion and that they conducted an interview with him but she pretended to know nothing about it I told you my identity was stolen MH my taxes were illegally filed I went through a whole thing with the IRS that was not me but who is this Zion that was interviewed by DCFS up in Chicago right in the presence of all your other children there was Staples no one was interviewed we had kids in the neighborhood come over some of those kids that were implicated were not in fact our children they were there you're saying there was a kid in your apartment that was not your your kid named Zion I didn't say his name was Zion no after that officer left last night you texted this person and was talking to him taking pictures of now well we have to take pictures of the whole house and then we'll search CU we have the whole text thread between you two right after the officers left it's pretty personal to each other too like you guys very well know each other but I thought it's talking about Somebody's Daughter it's talking about it's going back because people are they say crap about your kids for what but you guys know each other that it's not a random just I'm texting a stranger getting mad it's you two know each other financial aid Sushi Staples kept her son's body hidden for 7 months before being discovered she was charged with concealment of a death failure to report a death of a child and obstruction of justice watching her kid the officer will relentlessly question her to get the truth out which will likely lead to her being sent to jail what is your friend or cousin that's supposed That was supposed to be an unattended child in a vehicle and felony child neglect and now the unbelievable case of fleeing from the police the end of which will leave you speechless a police officer noticed an SUV moving at high speed and started to perform a traffic stop after following the vehicle for several miles the officer decided to give up on the pursuit just 5 minutes later he noticed the same vehicle again and started a Pursuit once again this time the runaway decided to stop and did so right in front of her own house let me see your hands let me see your hands let me see your hands hey get this vehicle I've been drinking acoss from station driving drunk with minors in the car can lead to Serious charges of child endangerment many jurisdictions have specific statutes that elevate the severity of DUI charges when children are present due to the increased risk to their safety convictions can result in jail or or prison time for a misdemeanor this might be a matter of months or a year for a felony it could be even several years at this point the police officer can arrest her for DUI fleeing from law enforcement and potentially child endangerment hey who called the C exactly you guys were right me okay she went down cuchia turned on to Pita the road uhhuh I stopped pursuing okay I turned around she comes back this way right in front of us I recognize it's the same car that's why we're here okay has she been drinking tonight she has was she the only one in the vehicle when you were following her home yes were the kids in the vehicle when you were following your home Valerie was charged with aggravated fleeing from an officer aggravated DUI child abuse failure to register a vehicle and driving without proof of insurance so so we've got a little girl inside and um her mom was here earlier she looks just like her mom which is like immediately when she came in she came in after we closed she walked up to the door and and I realized she's just missing she just doesn't know her mom is we got a little girl inside her name is mom's name is Victoria um I've tried calling her mom several times I've actually tried asking her last names and going on Facebook and finding maybe trying to find mutual friends I've tried everything guys how you doing can tell us where you came from okay you want to sit in that comfy Booth with them what's your mom's name um her name is Veronica where's your mommy at and sit next to me if you need to okay you don't know you said you walk from your car is your car around here somewhere um yeah it's over there I can show you it yeah let's do daughter is here by herself at 7 years old where she's terrified and goes into the bar and asks random bar people to help and call the police I have no idea I'm sorry sorry ain't going to cut it she said was in a car somewhere over there okay can you show us yes aome this situation is about to become very strange this is 35-year-old Veronica who left her 7-year-old girl in the parking lot while she drank beer with her friend after the child went searching for her mom in a nearby bar the police got involved and soon found Veronica who woke up in an unknown vehicle with no memory or at least that's what she claims because of this the police suspected her friend might have drugged her but Veronica later revealed what was really going on so wait you were in the car alone yes whose car is it I have no idea why were you in someone's car you don't even know I have I I have no idea I I I don't know how I ended up in the car I just woke up in the car honestly how'd you end up here um I I came here to meet friends yeah so like all I all I know is I I came here to meet friends I I I really didn't mean to me leave my seven-year-old alone in in the car I would never do such a thing I mean her her dad died last year he was murdered he was stabbed in in the in the heart um like I would never try to leave my children alone so when you met your friends here ran yes when you met ran here did you go into the bar yes absolutely okay did you have a drink yes what was the last thing you remember the last thing I remember is me and my friend r on here and then having a drink and that's it but like I mean I'm not alcoholic you know what I mean like I I I can hold my drink like I'm I'm 35 years old you I mean like that was probably like my third drink you know what I mean do you feel like maybe you were violated in any way I don't know like I woke up in a car that wasn't mine I woke up in a situation where I I didn't know where I was at um were your clothes on my clothes were on yes um my clothes were buttoned yes um but um I don't know how I ended up like this you know what I mean like I shouldn't have ended up like this I've never been you're right it shouldn't have ended up like this right also probably shouldn't have come up here with your seven-year-old right well I just came up here to say hi to my friend have a drink and then leave said you had three drinks yes what is it that you drink um I drink beer like were you sitting at the bar together and then next thing you know you're waking up in the car or go to the bathroom like I don't I don't remember anything from tonight you remember going into the bar so you do remember coming here yes yes so let's be honest okay yeah I'm be the best way for this situation okay because you just left your seven-year-old daughter alone for 6 hours right you understand that right I understand so let's be honest with us when we ask you questions you answer them completely and truthfully all right all right how long have you known WR um probably for like I would say four five months what's your guys' relationship we're friends you guys hook up make out do any of that benefits yeah so what's your what's your last memory at this bar you like location like were you inside outside I remember coming to this bar and me we're on so you just remember showing up and then it was done how much did you have to drink before you came here uh two beers two beers any prescription drugs no all suboxin yes you took suboxin yes how much you take um one strip a day okay Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat opioid dependence alcohol is a central nervous system depressant and amplifies the sedative effects of buprenorphine which is an ingredient found in Suboxone this means that a combination of alcohol and Suboxone could lead to the user passing out or becoming unconscious you take anything else no uh I've been silver now from IV drugs for 5 years when was the last time you used it's been 5 years it's been 5 years mhm we're not here because a 7-year-old was left by herself to walk into a bar of strangers who could have been the most god- awful people on the planet but thankfully they've been nothing but Angels the entire time they have devoted their time since she came in the bar to make sure that this traumatic experience does not become a severely traumatic experience yes sir okay understand so you may may have been sober from those hard drugs 5 years ago or I guess January alcohol doesn't it's it's not that much different okay cuz I I have my brother who heroin addict for 20 years he would drink he would still smoke weed fall back right back into it every time the people in there were nice right had they not been nice somebody could have been like you know what I'm going to help you find your mom come get in my car let's go you know what then you never see your daughter again yes sir you could have just found her in that ditch down there right you're facing possible charges of child neglect child endangerment all I'm there's a lot of stuff that'll take her away from you yes sir so you won't see her anymore even when you get out of prison I I honestly officer I I
