explained to her that just because she
goes to the hospital does not mean that
she is not under arrest she will still
be arrested afterwards and she still
wants to go to the hospital she's

now I've had a lot of things happen in
my career but being asked to get gas
never now of course when officers work
the highways they run into stranded
motorists often and officers do want to
help in any way that they can but
actually going to get gas is usually not
in the job description and when police
stop to help anyone they always have to
be cautious and methodical when they
approach because depending on the
location they're not only concerned with
the stranded individuals but they also
have to pay attention to traffic hazards
as well so today guys we have police out
of Indiana pulling up on a stranded
motorist who's parked in the middle of
the road and I've never heard this one
but she actually tells the officer that
dispatch said that they would send an
officer so he can go get her some gas
somehow I don't believe that and the
officer does let her know that the car
might have to be told because of where
it is he can't leave her there in the
middle of the road because that's an
accident just waiting to happen and then
that entire situation will fall on that
officer now as the officer is speaking
with this Motors her tone does begin to
change which kind of lets me know that
something more might be going on here
and that's when the officer discretly
called for backup and then the woman
actually tells this officer if you can't
get me gas then just just leave me alone
so this woman is actually showing the
level of respect that she has for law
enforcement and one of the officers
actually lets her know that then as we
get further in the investigation we
learned that the vehicle has no plate
and is unregistered and many times
people will act this way to divert
officer's attention away from the
obvious but police officers are trained
to see what's obvious and Beyond and
remember Guys these officers were
respectful professional and patient but
as they go to remove this woman from the
car she blatantly resists and gets tase
quick and rightfully so in my opinion
and interestingly after police take her
into custody and get her cleared at the
hospital the officer does transport her
in the front seat and just for your
information some departments do this to
keep close watch over the prisoner for
safety reasons and better communication
now in my years as a police officer I've
never transported a prisoner like this
and thinking about it makes me a little
uneasy but that's likely because I've
never been trained to transport
prisoners that way but thankfully this
prisoner did not act up again while she
was in transport because that would have
been another unfortunate situation this
suspect was charged with battery on law
enforcement a level five felony
resisting law enforcement refusal to
identify and operating a vehicle while
never being licensed she is innocent
unless proven guilty in a court of law
