all right today we did a
two and a half mile run in between two
and a half and three miles
i ran at about a nine minute 15 second
pace
which is something we are building up to
it's part of the cardio program
and building up the cadets endurance
wise
is the reason we did the run today today
we run out of sight
it gives them good practice and decision
making when you're under a little bit of
physical stress
when you're running it definitely
creates that environment
of endurance and environment of exertion
and you know having to make decisions
out there with stopping traffic which
lanes to block and things of that nature
definitely plays into a lot of the the
training that they do as well
and so uh it was a great run they're
actually progressing pretty nicely
um uh coming weeks will probably be
running a little bit more we'll be
running uh you know three miles
and uh maybe even up to three and a half
miles in the next
two or three weeks so uh overall they're
progressing pretty good
and uh it's been a good academy so
exercise far two three closer one
two three two one two three two
one two three four closer one two three
four one two all five left
forward step fast
class attention today i taught a
classic class called unknown traffic
stops
we started here in the classroom did a
two-hour
presentation on how to
call out a traffic stop how to do an
initial approach
and how to fill out some paperwork and
reapproach the vehicle in a safe manner
once the classroom portion was done we
we had each cadet practice calling out a
traffic stop and actually conducting a
traffic stop
a couple times out here in the parking
lot in a sterilized environment
nothing's going to go wrong
just so they can get used to what we
taught them here in the classroom
portion
