the woman we want to mention in this video is Ariel 33 years old on May 4th 20 24 the Hoboken Police Department received a call reporting a shoplifting incident at ShopRite the police then arrived at the loss prevention office where they met with the staff and the alleged shoplifter hello what you guys got you so the issue here is soon P for $156 in items there was $240 in items that did not get pick I was just in a rush today mhm and I'm sorry so was a total things that not get PA called they said they could pay hurry up and come over here but they said they can't allow that happen no so what happens from here is uh I never been locked up in my life well it's going to be the first time all right unfortunately uh where so the items we should be refunded for the items um that's what I was trying to see um I know you guys ain't taking the stuff so yeah what we'll do is just refund it back to her card okay can you do that now yeah do you need the card back to do that okay a copy of it of what what you the card I paid with uh no they were just taking and refund you the money for the stuff that you did pay for yeah what you did pay for this woman did not pay for some items the woman explained that she was in a rush that day and did not intend to steal the items she expressed remorse and wanted to pay for the unpaid items they discussed how to handle the situation including a refund the police were provided with a receipt detailing the value of the item she allegedly attempted to steal based on the value of the stolen items the store decided to prosecute her so you've never been arrested nope this's the first time ever so what's going to happen is we're going to have to take you up fingerprint photograph you you how long an hour or 2 hours and and then you're going to be released on a summon as long as you don't have any warrants do you have the C I'm sorry to interrupt you have the card so you can give your money back yes I do do you release on the summons to appear in court I have um I have no one yeah then like I said you you'll be released on a summons which is like a ticket to appear in court for a specific day in regards to this shop okay do you guys have to hear and C yes come the police informed the woman that this would be her first arrest they explained the arrest process including taking her to the police station photographing fingerprinting and completing the necessary procedures they also mentioned that she would be released with a court summons if there were no outstanding warrants against her so the total was 248 right that's the stuff 248 of items that did not get paid for that did not get paid and it was in the cart it was in bags it was like tied up in the bags so she bagged the things she paid for including the went to sub check out um I had I had doubl of the same items she put the stuff that she was going to pay for on the belt and then the other stuff that was in the bag she just plac it in the bag without without I was scanning the stuff in the bags I even had a person there um she saw me um she was I was taking stuff out out of the stuff from the bag standing just one more time how much was the stuff you get paay for um 156 took down the receipt yeah they have copies of both of them we'll have copi of the Void right is going to be a void or whatever return uh of what it's going back to the stuff is going back to the car yeah they give aop yeah so we'll just take a copy of that take a copy of this then going have to check that bag you have that's fine during the check the police asked her to present her payment card for the refund under the purchased items then the police proceeded to check her bag and personal belongings that's going to poke um this is you I can't even there's another zipper that's you don't have nothing in your pockets or anything on you just yeah just clean up your pockets the jacket in this one you should open was that head yes okay no I'm just making sure pH s see police R arrest okay yeah we're just going to walk you down to the car and then take you up process you and then we'll work out all the okay stuff there I'm not saying I'm being I'm being very and we appreciate the honesty and everything else but it's just what we have to do allow right we could check the head you to do it now and you're probably going to be released on the summons so we we I'll take it so we probably don't even need you to take it off cuz all right like you said You' never been arrested then you're just going to get a ticket to go to court this we only take jewelry when you're going to go to the county jail which most likely you're not going to go like I said if you don't have warrants you'll just be released on the sumon to appear [Music] just going to put your seat belt on all right yeah can I get a commentation the police reiterated that she would be released if there were no outstanding warrants this helped alleviate her anxiety somewhat they then moved to the patrol car and returned to the police station going to go here okay can we start reaching out for a female um all want to we can come stand right over this side yeah I'm going to UNC you CU you to the bench one sec give me one sec so fale offic is going to search you and then we going to start paperwork and try to get you out here as soon as possible okay like you said you have no Wars or nothing quick and smooth as possible all right yeah they're going to come off they're going to come off soon my partner unless we know she's ready we're going to take them off okay she very Cooperative we and just wanted to leave but the police requested her personal information and warned a possible handcuffing if she didn't cooperate she was displeased with their handling believing they were complicating things meanwhile the victim shared this account with another officer during the investigation when you got here did you get when did you get hit or how did that I didn't get hit here my charges correct yes okay the victim recounted to the police the details of the assault clearly showing signs of stress and fear she requested that the police accompany her for safety additionally she confirmed her intention to file charges and asserted that she would not change her mind so you're just going to be detained for now okay what just for now I didn't do anything no there is Absol no this is unlawful arrest you cannot arrest me arrested you're detain what does that even mean that means that you're not free to leave I'm going to put you in the back of my unit okay please I don't there's probable cause there is no whatever happened last night there were no calls made to you last night or to the police she is saying this because she is crazy and upset it doesn't even make sense right you're being detained you're not being under arrest right now you can be placed in handcuffs and they can come right off right now when a detective decides to come out they can do their area of the investigation once that's completed if they feel like they don't have enough on their end you'll be kick loose if that's the case being but right now you're not under arrest no I no I would like are you're going to get hurt if you don't you are liar you are thank you ma'am appreciate that yeah you heard it sir the police decided to detain the suspect while awaiting further investigation into the incident but at this point she began to show her true colors Melissa expressed strong opposition repeatedly claiming her innocence and arguing that her detention was illegal the situation deteriorated when the police tried to place her in the patrol car as she continued to insult and even kicked an officer during the process of escorting her the yeah no I need water to fuing what everything's better than both yours and you wrongfully arrested me you just just all get treated horribly on the job today even worse than I treated you maybe get a couple shots fired at you the woman was taken to a Medical Center for evaluation but her resistance escalated and the police were subsequently forced to use restraint tools ultimately Melissa was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest following further investigation she was also charged with assault based on her roommate's allegations additional investigation revealed that Melissa had a criminal history of assault in summary the suspect was charged with assaulting a Federal Officer under 18 us code 111 facing fines or up to 8 years in prison or up to 20 years of serious injury or a weapon is involved this law also covers Rec arrest or obstructing a Federal Officer additionally there is no specific federal law on assault as defined by individual states and the definition and punishment for this crime can vary by state I am not sure where this case took place but if it happened in California the suspect could face penalties under Penal Code 242 which states that any use of force or violence against another person may be considered assault and will be penalized accordingly this story serves as a warning about the severe consequences of violence and disrespect for the law violence not only causes harm but also leads to Serious legal repercussions we must build a society where conflicts are resolved through understanding and respect to prevent tragedies and create a safer Community jaie you did yeah you hit me in my face retaliated we'll pull the video stop why are you acting on October 22nd 2023 police in Ohio received a report about a large crowd in the area and they quickly been getting my ass and nobody's help me I've been getting my ass so nobody help the situation became more complicated when the woman started yelling loudly drawing attention from those around her and increasing the pressure on law enforcement dealing with her strong resistance not only prolonged the arrest process but also required the officers to be more cautious in their action just relax your legs then stop moving them you stop you're stop stop yell she hit offic what do you expect got bad left shoulder got my ass how do you want to stand up I'm trying to help you yeah already called go home yeah you started cussing at the police officer soon [Applause] as quick let me find out what happened you're under arrest step up in there you told me that you're not going to help throughout the process the woman persistently resisted and refused to cooperate even resorting to uncontrolled language perhaps she was unaware of the consequences she would face for her actions in Ohio resisting arrest is a serious offense under Section 2921.331 to a fifth degree felony including fines and imprisonment depending on the severity of the situation therefore it is best to cooperate when being arrested to minimize negative consequences and avoid further legal trouble for yourself yes we have to trans stop causing an issue we going have to ride in Squad are you going to act like a normal human being yes or did you are we going to need to ride in here with you I didn't do nothing he told me he was going to pull me like this so that's what he told cuz you're not listening okay but I did not listen he just [ __ ] me like your wife think it's cute right you have another PA of gloves you L down oh you ass man train do that your is in my stop mooving your leg lay back you chok I'm not choking anybody yeah you was your is all my stop moving your legs so we Goos stop moving your legs stop you can't sit there be like the woman continuously resisted and refused to cooperate forcing the officers to use equipment to subdue her at that point she began to complain claiming she was being treated unfairly and continued to use profane language uncontrollably yeah you're right yeah out my kneecap stop moving you guys are all you to do is sit down we get yep I'll report it you checked out yep I'll report it that you guys are pushing on my cat it's not good got to make better decisions here that's it you're going to kick somebody and hurt them and then this is a whole new ball game eventually the woman was arrested and charg with assaulting a police officer resisting arrest and disorderly conduct however the latter two charges were dropped the charge of assaulting a police officer was brought before a grand jury which determined there was sufficient evidence to proceed with formal prosecution against the SP in the state of Ohio the law regarding assault on a police officer is outlined in section 29313 of the Ohio Revised Code the statute states that assaulting a police officer while they are performing their duties is considered a serious offense depending on the severity of the ACT this crime can be prosecuted as any anything from a misdemeanor to a felony with corresponding imprisonment and fines this incident highlights the importance of restraint and avoiding violence especially when dealing with law enforcement resisting and attacking police officers not only bring serious legal consequences but can also escalate the situation into something more dangerous staying calm cooperating and following the directives of law enforcement is the best way to protect your rights and safety as well as that of those around you me your driver waiting at the freaking bus I don't care we got blue lights and people's safety for a reason put your car park okay stop her yo stop BR go the incident took place on October 13th 2022 in Florida where the police were actively managing the scene and clearing the road after a collision to restore traffic flow to ensure everyone's safety the area was cordon off however a woman disregarded the restrictions attempting to drive through the barricades ignoring all warnings from law enforcement what are you doing what are you doing what are you doing no I don't care the answer's no hi to David Mor okay can you give me your driver's license let me yes it is do you not see that blue truck put your car in park and give me your driver's license give me your driver's license waiting at the freaking I don't care put your car park okay stop her stop BR go put her in jail I'll be there when stopped by the police the woman not only refused to provide a identification but also insisted that the road was not blocked and that she needed to pick up her daughter nearby her non-cooperation was evident when she suddenly drove away from the stop without permission a police officer immediately pursued her escalating the situation and making it even more tense and unpredictable it is important to note that the police have the authority to block roads or control traffic in the event of an accident to ensure the safety to scene and manag traff traffic flow when the police do this all vehicles must follow the instructions of the officers or traffic controllers according to section 316.072 three of the Florida Statutes failure to comply with police orders can be considered a violation under Section 316.1935 furthermore refusing to provide identification and fleeing can result in penalties under section 843.svg Moon Sail Drive baral Coast Trail get in the car sit down my daughter was right here waiting for me sit sit down give me a driver's license registration and proof of insurance because they they blocked it off and I was trying to get to and I got here look there my daughter's right sit my daughter's right there I don't care sit down and give me your driver's license I don't have it with me it's at the house don't get involved I get it but don't get involved get off the I was trying to this is my husband I don't care I was trying to you are stopped for a lawful reason how was it it wasn't even blocked off people were coming out of the street you guys were blocking all the way to 75 yeah why do you think we're doing that there was it was nothing it was a traffic crash disob okay I'm not arguing with you you don't have a driver's license I have a driver's LIC at home that's what trying to say name what's your name I'm not saying that okay she comes back to a mail something want you want it or you need to take it you can take it come your kids aren't in that car are they turn around this is not the way you should have handled this I don't need to be arrested man I'm trying to get my driver's license I was trying to get my daughter do you have anything in your pockets yes what do you have I don't know my the woman insisted she was picking up her daughter and did not have identification nor did she provide her name the police emphasized that she was being stopped for a lawful reason and requested her cooperation but she continu continued to argue and did not fully cooperate as a result the officer decided to arrest the woman okay so for Florida statute when we stop you you have to give us certain documents and she reach you so unfortunately for her that's violation and that's a jailable I don't know so she probably should have listened to us a mile up the street and this wouldn't be happening but she's going to take us to open up the road to come down here and she came that far from hitting him so now it's aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer which is a f so you can go do you know who owns this car okay can you call them and have them come pick it up yeah it's her sister is this Jessica I no no no am I able to take the car if she allows you to take the car yeah how are you going to get home I I live down the street are you going to walk back okay if she allows you to take the car then yeah we'll let you take the car do we have a name for her yet cuz she's refusing her name them I only saw bits and pieces of it so what obviously got driving around the barricade driving around the barricade and then she drove off of it I had to step back before so she wouldn't run me over a police officer explained the situation to the suspect's sister who had arrived to pick up the daughter according to the officer the suspect violated Florida law by refusing to provide the required documents after being stopped furthermore due to her impatience she nearly caused an accident involving the police officer leading to potential charges of aggravated assault on law enforcement officer so again why is she being arrested let me walk you through this okay there's a massive traffic crash up there right we've had to direct traffic for over an hour hour and a half we shut the road down legally to get the tow trucks in so we could get the cars off the road in order to open the flow of traffic back up she decided she didn't want to wait we pulled off the road and we opened the entire Lane back she went in the opposite lane of traffic and when I stopped she decided she didn't want to wait right and I don't know what I'm talking about so she drives off almost runs over my foot doesn't stop for him and then speeds all the way up Carter Road and then when he stops her here she refuses to get her information and when we legally stop you for a traffic violation and you refused to give your stuff it's a violation of Florida State Statute and she went to jail so that's the only charge right now violation of no she's probably going to get a uh we're going to watch the video and if one of us had to step back she's probably going to get an aggravated assault on law enforcement officer which is a felony initially the suspect sister did not understand the police officer's explanation but eventually she was informed of the consequences of her sister's actions the officer's patient explanation in this situation is a clear demonstration of the professionalism and responsibility of the police which not only helped the suspect's relative understand the situation but also reduced tension ensuring that all parties were aware of the legal consequences of the violations the conversation continued with the officer explaining the situation to the woman she just waited five more seconds I was getting in my vehicle and I was pulling off the side of the road but because she couldn't wait and she went in the opposite lane of traffic which could have caused an accident because the people that that were coming off a Carter turning right onto Mox and wallow have the rideway she's in the opposite lane of traffic and had she called into traffic crash a head on traffic crash we'd have been toting her off in an ambulance so we don't do things just to piss people off right we do things for safety of everybody involved to include us to include the two people that were already involved in the traffic crash and we don't have time for this right and I'm pretty easygoing right so when I ask you to stop that's what I'm asking don't give me this line of excuse everybody on that road has somewhere to be I mean it's been a busy road for a lot of years when I ask you to stop and get out of the opposite lane of traffic we have a problem and then when we come up here legally we're allowed to ask you for your documents your driver's license you're all that she's refusing so unfortunately for her better choices next time but again we don't we had a lawful reason to stop that because she didn't think that she needed to wait some of the road was opened up to get the the traffic the tow trucks in then yeah and so that that's the whole story in the end the suspect was arrested for resisting the law enforcement officer in serious traffic violations faced with clear evidence the woman pleaded guilty without resistance and was sentenced by the court to 6 months of probation this story serves as a profound reminder of the importance of complying with the law and cooperating with authorities in all situations non-cooperation and intentional violations only increase tension and can lead to severe legal consequences affecting not only the individual but also endangering those around them we must all clearly understand that complying with the law and remaining column not only protects ourselves but also contributes to BU build in the safer and more Humane Society get off of me get off of me stop relax get off you're under arrest for Batteries relax kissing my hand awesome listen can't can't we can't be doing stuff like that okay at this point an officer spoke with the suspect and tried to reassure her during this process he also took her ID for identification purposes here I appreciate the officer's actions in calming the woman the officer adhered to the basic principles of handling tense situations including communicating calmly and politely as well as following identity verification procedures this helps create a safe environment and ensures fairness and law enforcement overall the officer actions were reasonable and aligned with the standards and regulations of the law enforcement profession no it was just a very okay so I was getting ready to empty the garbage so what happened he walked by with all this so she the carart passed by and I go I said it to him and and she goes like this but I I thought she oh do you want to mess with me or something of that nature like she was going to pretend to hit me you know you want to mess with me you know kind of like that so and then she actually made contact and punched me with what hand with I believe her right hand according to the victim he was taking out the trash when he saw the suspect pass by with a water C he made a joke which triggered a strong reaction from the woman when the victim thought her words were just teasing she acted in a way that injured him and caused bleeding in similar situations you should try to keep your distance and avoid reacting with violence keeping a distance ensures your safety and prevents worsening the situation report the incident to authorities immediately and provide information about the suspect so they can intervene and handle the situation appropriately additionally if there are witnesses ask them to stay and provide statements if needed if injured seek medical assistance immediately and keep all medical documents as evidence I mean you might want to ask her what I said maybe she thought I said something else she's really thirsty so you see I was kind of like wow she's really thirsty so you said while she's really thirsty and she said what are you trying to mess to the effect of that yeah you know pretty much like it with anybody it wasn't even speci and you said you don't need the Medics I don't think so the employee later recounted that he was only trying to be friendly and had no intention of causing any trouble especially with the woman he added that she might have misunderstood his words however her violent reaction was unacceptable well you know she like I I'll probably be okay but I'm thinking she can't keep doing this I get that can I at least get your ID tell me huh can I at least get your ID I mean and I don't need this I got enough going on and I was actually just trying to be friendly you wanted to go to jail for she's done or not Tom me we need a decision right now yeah decide what you going to do what is there to decide that up to you I'm going to have her arrest we go to court on she needs to go through the process the officer asked the victim if he wanted to press charges against her after considering everything and recognizing that her behavior was unacceptable he decided to file a complaint to prevent similar actions in the future with this the woman could be char charged under the following laws simple battery under Section 784.03 this occurs when a person intentionally
