A male suspect wanted for armed robbery in Indiana is currently being chased by police where the pursuit is reaching higher and higher speeds and has no sign of stopping. >> Airbags deployed. Rear tire out. >> 610. Hey everyone at 5. It's still northbound on 31. Good sticks. Good sticks. How fast is he going? He's losing a lot of tire. He'll lost another tire. on the right now. Going to have to take just north of you guys where you're coming from by the car. Heat. Heat. So, we're down at about 55 mph. >> All tires are flat. >> Wow. We got ready. away. Heat. We're getting over him. >> You figure this is a homicide suspect with all this. >> You think this is a homicide suspect? >> Good thing we had a pit car. >> Oh, put your foot in. >> We got a medic coming. Hey, let's make sure. >> In addition to his armed robbery charge, this suspect was charged with felony resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, felony battery against a public safety official, and resisting. He is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Surveillance footage shows a female that walks in a Marshall store, followed by a male looking like Pennywise with that haircut. These aren't normal shoppers, however, as they are caught picking up a bunch of store items and passing by the checkout without paying and leaving the store. When officers respond, the shoplifterss are in their vehicle and immediately flee while ramming a police [music] car in the process. Oh, >> going uh left on the heading over here. >> Going westbound, eastbound lanes. >> A white pickup truck. >> Yeah, a white pickup truck. white Nissan hard body. >> George 434 Thomas right behind that unit. >> More officers who respond are able to throw stop sticks right as the suspects pass them, causing them to spin out and then they ram yet another squad car, stopping them in their tracks. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get out. >> Go hands on. Go hands on the car. Run in the truck. GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW. >> NO, that guy over there. >> That guy? Yeah. >> Hey, bud. >> No, it's not him. That's not >> him. You have any weapons on you? The vehicle still normal. >> Anything sharp, poke, stick, cut us, anything like that? >> Ram you guys. >> Yeah, he did a 360 and she rammed my unit. All right, stand up. >> Do something. >> Let let go of whatever's in your hands. >> I don't care. Just let go of all of it. Sir, I know you you're being recorded. You're being detained. You're not free to leave. Okay, >> let's go. Walk into step. >> Stop. >> Separate your feet. >> Separate your feet. More. >> All right. Go and powder down. >> Hey, you guys good to put in one in your unit? Cuz mine's 107. >> Yeah. Are you to take any of them or >> All right. Face the car. >> Line your stance. >> Nothing on you that's going to poke, stick, stab me, sir. >> All right. With the back side of my hand, I got to check the inside of your life for weapons. All right. >> What the letting you know too, Serge, I failed her on my camera when I jumped out. I was afraid she was had a gun or something cuz she had her hands down. >> Okay. So, I immediately wanted to get out of my unit so I didn't get freaking shot. >> Okay. >> And just the necklace, nothing else? >> Yeah, just necklace. >> All right. Hang on one sec. >> All right. Have a seat. >> Hey, sir. We just see my anxiety down. >> Yeah. In a minute, man. >> Yep. Just hang on. Uh, you want me to roll the window down so you can get some air? >> Yes, please. You got it. Uh, who do I talk to? >> Uh, we'll find out in a second. All right. Talk about what? >> Huh? >> Talk to about what? This [ __ ] >> What? >> This the whole thing. >> What about you shoplifting and random? >> No, the shoplifting. I know. >> Ramming police cars and stuff. >> Oh, that I told her stop. >> Okay. Are you injured? >> Looking at you >> just from the crash getting hit. >> Are you injured? >> Yeah. >> No. Okay. Turn around. Let me >> Okay. Do you know if the individual was injured? >> No, I didn't see any injuries upon when exiting or out of the vehicle. Any outstanding suspects? >> None. Pull for taken into custody. >> What force did you use? >> Um level one um control. Open the door, grabbed her by the arm, pulled her, pulled her, she went to the ground, she went to the ground. Um recruit came, grabbed her arms, put them in handcuffs. >> Anyone else ins? >> None. I did have my gun um drawn out, pointed at the window, giving her instructions to exit the vehicle. Did you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Unsure if she had any weapons here cuz she wasn't showing her hands. Okay, I'll see you in the car. >> All right. What's your name? >> Molina. >> M O L I N A. >> M E L I N A. >> Okay, >> dude. I can't believe you spiked him right there. [laughter] That was awesome. I saw you throw it and I was like, "No way." That was might have been one of the coolest things I've ever seen. So, at the Marcals, they rammed into the back of us, came all the way down here, spun out in the intersection, and then rammed that unit up there. Oh god. >> Both suspects were charged with felony aggravated battery to a peace officer, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle as [music] the white pickup truck they used was stolen. Shoplifting of $250 or less, conspiracy, and aggravated fleeing an officer. They are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Now, there is a moment I believe every cop faces on calls like this when you stop asking why are they stealing and you start asking how far they're willing to go when they get caught. And when you realize society's created thieves bold enough to treat public spaces like personal shopping sprees, you understand the real danger isn't the stolen items. It's the growing belief that rules are for cowards and consequences are outdated. Now, stop sticks aren't some Hollywood magic trick. They're the cop version of saying, "We tried it your way. Now, it's time for reality." And when you have a suspect tied to an armed robbery, that automatically changes the officer's mindset because you're not dealing with stolen property anymore. You're dealing with a person who's already proven they're willing to use force to get what they want and that matters. Now, from the outside, people may ask, why even chase at all? And it is a fair question and one law enforcement acts internally every time. And pursuits are never automatic. They're judged by policy, threat level, driving behavior, and the crime involved. Letting violent offenders or aggressive suspects go doesn't make community safer. It simply pushes the danger forward to the next person who crosses their path. And what both situations show is this. Theft isn't always about property anymore. It's often tied to violent, stolen vehicles, and weapons. You don't protect the public by wishing criminals behavior. You protect them by making sure they have
