I'm already here now. >> Okay. >> Kia A. Sims was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct with a domestic enhancer, and criminal damage to property. Although she mentioned it several times during her arrest, police records had no other information regarding the death of the suspect's children. We were however able to find an article and interview regarding the tragic incident which explains her children drowned after falling through a retention pond near her home. >> Today was the first day that I actually drove past this pond and I just started balling. >> Kiana Sims is the mother of the two boys. >> I just wish I would have got out here sooner and I would have jumped in. It's an incredibly devastating loss, one no parent should ever have to face. But it's also unfair for the mother to place blame on police as everything unfolded before a 911 call could even be made. The suspect and the father of the children have since filed a lawsuit against the city and other parties involved in their transportation to school. The case was filed in March of this year and is still currently open. For the charges faced today, the suspect was only found guilty on her county disorderly conduct. All other charges were dismissed on prosecutor's motion. >> Okay. So then you're she's following you around for Madison >> following me around north side over there. Okay. >> So I went to pick these boys up. He follow me over there. I didn't come in the car. He keep following me. I dro one of my boy in St. P. He was following me again. I came here to pack my stuff. >> Mhm. >> You understand? So he started following me. >> So then you come you go upstairs and you pack your suitcase. >> I pack my suit because I don't want problem before because this happens. I was there. >> Yeah. Cuz you got you got arrested like what 2 or 3 weeks ago? >> Not long ago. And the charges were was dropped. I'm scared. So >> I have to be protecting myself, taking a video, you know. >> Okay. Do you have video of this today? >> I have a video. She's broken my stuff, >> you know. >> And is that from today? >> This all today. >> Okay. >> This is in the in the house when she hold my back, you know. She have my back with her. You see the back with her? >> Yep. >> Give me my Give it to me. And you want >> No, you me to the back. Give me my >> Because you been bringing women to the back of the bathroom and them dudes at that store been telling you. You just don't even know the truth. And you was looking up the prostitution house and that's why I'm probably sick now because you've been doing stuff. >> No, I'm not. >> No, I'm not. >> No, I'm not. >> I don't. >> I don't care. >> So you trying to get the bag. So when this continue they say we come down with my luggage. >> Okay. Were you able to get the bag? >> It's still Is it still upstairs? >> Okay. Was the bag damaged at all? >> Was the I'm sorry. What was that? >> Hey, if I was, that's my business. Don't come to me like that. >> I'm not videaping nothing. You could have asked. >> Okay. Don't come to me like that. >> I wouldn't I wouldn't converse with her. >> I said what the I said. Hey man. Hey man. Hey man. said what the I said. >> Hey man, >> and I said what the I said is you talking about >> I get let's not talk with her all right now. Okay. So are all these people outside? >> They're all outside. So every day I'm calling the police on this me still problem. >> Yeah. So what happened with So did she damage the bag? >> The bag is upstairs. >> Yeah. But you don't know if it's damaged. >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> I I can't I can't be in any trouble. I have to run away. >> So it looks like you leave us, >> right? Mhm. >> I leave a video and start following you and I leave. >> Yep. I'm just going to continue watching this through. So, what's kind of going through your mind at this point? >> I'm scared. >> Okay. Why were you Why were you scared, you know? Stop it, you know, and I don't want people to be calling police and then this thing happens and I end up having problem. >> So, I have to run. I have to run for my own safety. >> What did you think would happen if you didn't call police? >> Agreement. I will not go. She's going to have my back. Okay. >> But this happened several times. I will never leave. I remember there's one officer just come there and I they wanted to separate us. She didn't want it. She would never want us separated. >> Okay. >> I have to beg the Okay, fine. Everything is settled now. I'm going to go off. >> So, when she's following you, did you ever think that it would escalate to anything else? >> Did you think it would escalate to anything else? >> What? >> Like you guys are arguing, right? >> She's following you. >> What did you think would happen if you >> She's going to harm me. >> Okay. So, you thought that she was going to harm me? Yeah, she's good. >> Did she make any motions like with her hands? Uh, >> she kicked if you >> if I and I probably got something from your ass. >> Sick as hell. Tired as a [ __ ] >> So then she's Does she stand in front of the door to What does she stand in front of the door for? What do you think? Is this damaging something there? I don't know. >> Okay. What are the are these prior videos right here? >> These are old videos. >> Okay. >> Let me see. >> Let's stay over here, man, for the time being. I just want to keep you guys separated for as long as possible. So, we're not So, 719. >> And I've been over here trying to be cool to your goofy ass. You're a goofy and I'm over here driving a car. >> So, this has been going on for >> Was this mirror originally missing? I'm over here bossing this goofy ass when this happened. She was >> your goofy ass. >> So this is her just with a key. >> I don't know what she has in her hand. >> That looks like a marker. >> No, not this not a marker. This is something like she had it in her car. >> Okay. So some kind of something. >> Yeah, there's something in her hand. >> All right, I'm going to give you this back. Just sit tight for right here for a minute. Um I'm going to talk with my partner and then probably talk with your friend over I don't know where he went off to talk with him. It's Isaac. >> Isaac. Yeah. >> Okay. All right. All right, I'll be right back with you, man. Hello. Are you Isaac? >> Yeah, we're just talking. >> Okay, you're already talking with uh >> I'm just trying to call his dad to get him picked up. >> Okay. >> He did I didn't get like a sample from him yet, but he's he said he saw >> Okay. >> I saw that girl. >> Yeah. >> He's a little scared, so come hang out. >> So, Isaac, what did you see happen today? >> I saw a car scratch. >> Okay. >> She was uh I was running from her. >> Okay. You were running from her. Okay. >> Yeah. Trying to kill us. >> You thought that she was trying to kill you? >> Yeah. She's going to kill me. >> Okay. What made you think that? >> I don't know. Hey, Ala, can I get my books, please? >> Yeah, we'll we'll worry about that here in a >> My books are missing. >> Your books are missing. Okay. >> In there. >> In her car? >> No, in my car. >> In your car. >> That's our car. >> Okay. >> You watch those? >> Okay. >> So, it looks like when I was talking to your friend that you were upstairs in their apartment. Is that accurate? >> Yes, I was. >> Okay. >> What did you see up in the apartment? >> I saw smoke candles. >> Okay. >> There were candles in there. Yeah, >> it was big gall. >> Okay. What was there any kind of argument that was happening? >> Uh, yeah, this morning I saw their arguing. >> Okay. What about the What about tonight? >> I was arguing last night, too. >> Okay. What about tonight specifically? >> Uh, I saw them argue at night. >> Okay. Did you hear what they were arguing about? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> But you saw them arguing. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, when you guys left the apartment, what happened after that? >> She threw it at us. She threw a She threw a mirror at us. She threw a mirror at you. >> Yeah, she throw too, right? >> Okay. >> Yep. So, did it did that mirror hit you? >> No. >> No. >> Didn't >> Did it hit Ethel? >> No. >> No. Okay. What What was going through your mind when that mirror got thrown at you? >> I don't know. We just ran. >> You You ran. Okay. >> Yeah, we just ran from her. >> Okay. Why did you run? >> Oh, no. We runners. >> Were you scared at all? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Okay. What were you scared of? >> Uh, monsters. Eyes. I think we have angry eyes. What about her? >> Uh, I don't know. >> Were you scared from her? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Cuz she was You think she she was trying to hit you guys? >> Yeah, we're trying to run. >> Okay. >> It with us. We're going to go home. It's okay with him. I want to go home. Where's my dad? >> I think my uh my uh supervisor over here. He's trying to get in contact with your dad. Okay. >> Okay. Can I get my uh my books? >> Yeah, we can get your books before we get out of here. All right. But for right now, because she's a little upset, >> we're going to kind of have you stay back over here. >> Sure. Sure. Sure. It's fine. You were fine where you were standing. >> I stay right here. >> Yep. And and I appreciate that. >> I see it. >> Did you see if the Did you run the plate? >> It's both. >> It's both. So, no damage of property. >> We have damaged property. It's registered to him. >> Oh, okay. So, it's registered to him. Okay. >> And her. >> So, there even if it's registered to her, we could do it. >> Okay. I wasn't sure on that part of it. >> If it's mutual property, you can do damage. >> Okay. So, then part of this also happened in Madison as well. >> Okay. >> Um he has a video of it. I'm not sure exactly where it is and he can't give me like a good address, but she is like walk walking around the uh car like scratching or putting marker on it. I can't tell what the actual object is that he is that she is uh using. So, >> do we have any like sounds like domestic violation like any criminal? >> He He's like I think so. Yeah. So, he's like Yeah. If I didn't leave I thought that she would like get to physical physically alter have a physical altercation. He's upstairs grabbing his bag, like packing his stuff up. She grabs a bag, refuses to give it back. He has the rolling bag out here. He takes that, brings it all the way down. She's following him the entire way down, kicks at the bag, and then stands in front of the car, preventing him from like leaving the situation. So, I mean, I think that we have DC and then damaged the property. Uh, or does he have a phone somewhere? >> Isaac said he left it at home. >> Left it at home. Did you give her permission to damage your vehicle? >> No. >> No. How much do you think it would cost to get repaired? Uh I I don't know because when he was doing this this guy that threw it and said, "Hey, I can fix all this stuff." So he started calling me. He text me. >> Yeah. I mean, what would be like your your best estimate? It doesn't have to be like pinpoint on the numbers. We can follow up with you to get the exact amount. >> Do you think it's over 200 and 2,500 or less? >> I never I I don't Where would you say it lands? Over or under that? >> I'd say I guess. So you think >> you think maybe like 500 bucks? >> Yeah. Yeah. I I don't know. It could be. >> Would you say that's a safe estimate? 500 or do you think it'd be less? >> So $500 for the time being and we can always follow up with you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So what's she saying happened today? >> So she's saying that she went to some type of shop where he asked her to come. >> Um she got to the shop. she was looking for him and realized that he was in like a a back of a shop that she wasn't aware was a part of the shop where it looked like like they're sex trafficking people. Um said that she went to some app and found out he was trying to >> okay >> pay for sex from women and >> somehow put two and two together that this was possibly the people he was trying to buy sex from. No fact. So, so she thinks that he went to whatever this shop is for to hook up with somebody. >> Yeah. And like a locked area behind the shop that she wasn't aware. She said she' been going to the shop a lot, but wasn't aware that this part was like behind the shop. >> Okay. >> So, she said it's like family's living in here. >> Um, and she got a hold to his phone and seeing where he was googling >> um about some app where you could like buy sex from women. >> Okay. and she's saying her name and her sister name is on this app. Um, so she confronted him about that and he was just like, "You're crazy. None of this is happening." >> She reported that to us before like she thought she was being like, "Uh, you know, you know what I'm talking about." >> Yeah. Said her name is on this app where >> Yeah. She thought she was being like extorted. >> Yep. And she said this time her sister name is on this app too now. >> And he's like, "What are you talking about?" >> Yeah. >> Pretty much. So he doesn't know what the store is called. It sounds like it's something where like he's like delivering some kind of item that somebody else purchased to whoever bought it is what I gather from him. I could be that's what I'm interpreting it as, but it could be I could be left. >> Oh, he got a video of hard here. >> Yeah, in Madison at the shop parking lot. She here specific. >> He was doing it here as well. >> Yes. Um, he has video of him leaving the Well, anyway, going back to Madison. When she's in Matt, when they're in Madison, he's inside the car and she has some kind of I don't know what it is. I can't quite make it out. It looks like it might be have like a circular blade, like a yarn, something for like yarn, like knitting type deal. And she's just it's whatever it is, it's green is what I know going all the way around it. And you can see her like just carving it up. She did tell me that there's makeup on the side and there's some hard glue she got out of her car on the other side of the she's admitting that key in the car too. >> Okay. >> She told me >> um what happened is that did they get in an accident previously or what's >> Yeah, that was a couple weeks ago. I seen that report accident. Really? Yeah. Lots of stuff going on. >> Okay. So, um he's like they get back here. She's like following him around. He comes back here to get duffel the suitcase here and then a red bag upstairs. She's not letting him get the red bag. He's like, "This is all on recording. I I want my bag. I want to leave." So, he leaves the apartment with this dude over here, and she follows them all the way down the stairs. I mean, it's three flights of stairs plus all the way out here. Stands right in front of the driver's side door. And he's like, "Yeah, I wanted to leave the situation, get Isaac over their home." And I thought that there would be a physical altercation if there wasn't any if I didn't call the police. And then Isaac, I mean, he the limited information that I could get from him was that he thought that she was going to harm them. >> Okay. >> Isaac has a cell phone.
