Okay, bro. Well, you keep you keep you keep moving this up. Well, look, I don't give a you causing this though. Who is the warrant for? It's for Jamonte. Jamonte don't stay here. This the address. This the address. This the address of the Are you going to listen? Are you going to listen? She's not going to listen. She's not cool. You're not listening. All right. Well, Jamonte. Damonte. Don't even stay here. Well, it's the address on the warrant. So, I don't give a That's where we get to go. That's the law. Wow. What the y'all here for? Jamonte. For Jamonte, don't stay here. Oh, well, no. That's my cousin. I just They told me this thing right here. You can check my ID. I stay right there on um East. Okay. [Applause] Yeah. Do you know where Damonte is? No. I just seen the police and I said that's cousin and I wanted to know you don't know where Jamonte says Jamonte works. No. Have you seen him lately? Anything? I just seen my cousin and I said Oh, go ahead. You fine. I just seen her and I said I don't know what's um going on, but I know her mama at work. That's who I was trying to Are you related to him? I know your name's real similar. Yeah, that's my cousin. So, just a cousin, not like a brother or anything like that. All right. So, just chill for the arrest, bro. Just chill. So, look, you seem like you you're rational. So, this is how the law works, buddy. All right. And I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you, bro. So, his warrant is I can't tell you what his warrant's for, but on his warrant, this is the address that's listed for him, right? So, has he ever stayed here that you know? No, you stay here. Yeah. Okay. Has he never lived here? Nothing. Has he ever chilled here, stayed the night here, anything like that? You don't stay here. How how y'all know him? Huh? How y'all know him? That's her cousin. That's her cousin. Okay. So, for some reason, that's the address that he gave when he got arrested the last time. Okay. So, now on his warrant is this address cuz this is where he said he lived. Okay. That's what I'm saying. All right. So, that's what's going on. Now, what his warrant for, we ain't got enough time to explain what we doing. You know what I mean? I got you. I get, bro. But and I understand why she upset because I'd be mad too if somebody just came to my house and started telling me to get out, right? But what his warrants for it, we don't got time to sit there and explain to her what we're here for because it's one of those things where people open the door and start shooting at us. Not saying y'all would do that, but that's what it is. You know what I'm saying? We could probably go right inside. Yeah. So, yeah, you're good, man. Cuz it's my crib. It's my crib. Take me out of handcuffs. The warning. The war. The warning. Not for me. Y'all got me handcuffed for no reason. The is my crib. Y'all came in the crib for the wrong person. He's not here. Okay, let me go. I don't care. They do. But they probably don't come on the street. I can't even see your birthday on here. What's your birthday? Take it out. What is your birthday before you do catch a charge? Like I said, if you're watching me, you could take a ride right now. What's your birthday? So, look, what I just told your cousin is I understand you upset. I would be too, but there's a reason why we had to do this like the way we had to do this. You could have just said what it was for. We don't have time for that because there Okay, you know how many times I served a warrant and somebody said nobody in there and they was in there? I don't Okay, I don't know. Are you going to listen to me or do we got to go the other route? Cuz I'm trying to be nice here. I'm happy to go the other route. They I'm trying to be cool. All right. Go ahead and take her, bro. Like, we don't got We don't got time for that. Go ahead and take her, man. I mean, I tried to be I can't even read her birthday. She's not giving me her birthday. Obstruction. I didn't touch y'all. Bro, obstruction is me. Put my hand on y'all resisting. I didn't resist. This is ours. For now, I got the car. So, yep. Yeah. So, if you can talk to me, I can talk to you. If you going to talk to me, I'mma talk to you person. Well, talk to talk to him. He put your address. Okay. That's not my fault. Y'all could have went to the other crib that he got on there. He didn't put that address. Whose fault is that? His and yours for letting him over your house. No, it's not the Okay. Well, you'll be upset. Just CCDC. I don't got to shut up. Just like you don't got to shut up. We can both talk. Yeah, but we could both still talk. That's the thing. That's the thing about America. Y locking me up for talking. No, that's not for talking. Hey, we tried to look out for you, man. No, we did not. Y'all didn't tell me what y'all was coming in my crib for. We said we had a warrant. Not for me. It doesn't matter. So, as I was trying to see, look, this is what you was doing is I was trying to explain to you. I was trying to explain it to you and you kept doing this. I I even told him to take you out of cuff so I could explain it to you and you kept doing this instead of just letting me explain it to you. It would have been so much easier if you would have just let me explain it to you. Listen, listen. It's my crib. In my crib, that guy that we took we took the cuff off of her and she kept going. Hey. Cuz I was like, "Hey, how you doing?" Hey, I understand real quick. She kept going. Just pulled you out your house, but let me explain it to you. And then she kept going. So I was like, "All right." All right. I'm going to search you again. The truck was too tight. Too tight. But you slipped out of them. Yes. That's another counter. How? What the? I'm saying this was too tight. All I did But that doesn't If they're If they're too tight, what I was going to do, they wouldn't have been able to come off your hands. Are you kidding me? Too tight. What the I'm telling you those are too tight. All right. Well, step out so we can put them back on. They're not too tight. If you get out of there, stop yelling at me. Get out. I don't care about you. None of that. This you already [ __ ] I tried to explain it to you. It don't matter. Want me to [ __ ] I mean, it don't matter what I'm about to tell you. Yeah. Well, we tried to be nice. You know the idea. Okay. Sorry you feel that way. Lean against the car. Separate your feet. Separate your feet. Separate your feet more. I don't care about you breathing hard. I ain't going to tell your cousin stop using your address. I'm just saying. Hey, if he do something else and he put your address on it again, it's going to happen again. That's that's what we trying to tell you. No, y'all. Y'all didn't tell me that before y'all went in the crib. Y'all didn't say who the warm was for. That's why I told you to pull you. I told you to pull. That's why I was pulling you away from the door so they could explain it to you. Fight. How was you struck? We was trying to We was trying to explain it to you, but you didn't want to get you didn't want me to explain it to you. And then we took the cuffs off of you. Separate. You alreadying checking. No, we have to check that. You just look up. You should be happy cuz if you go into jail with something, then that's a felony. This is just a misdemeanor. But if you go into jail with something, that's a felony. I already told you I don't have it. Okay. Well, we just trying to make sure. Why you never got the lady that checked me when I was there? Why not? Girl, cuz they could talk to me. The Cuz they got them out. And if I got him out, I can talk back. Godamn. You can [ __ ] clear me in the car. Hurry up, man. Take me to the damn place. Y'all brought me here for [Music] the step out. Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff, patrol sergeant, and canine handler. I have participated in countless search warrants and arrest warrants at residences, and they can go all different kinds of ways. So, there are certain laws that law enforcement has to abide by when you're going to execute a search warrant or an arrest warrant at someone's home. The most notable one being something that is referred to as knock and notice. So, as a cop, when you are going to a house to execute a search warrant or an arrest warrant, you have to knock on someone's door, announce who you are, whatever police department you're affiliated with, law enforcement, and the purpose for you being there. Police department, arrest warrant, search warrant, and you have to do that prior to making entry. You also have to give whoever is inside reasonable time to come to the door and open it prior to making forceful entry into the dwelling. There are some exemptions to that rule. If you believe somebody is inside destroying evidence or if they are accessing firearms or dangerous weapons, you can get around that law as well, but you need to heavily articulate that and that is going to go into your report and all and on the documentation. And it sounds like the person they are there to arrest is a fairly dangerous individual. It is documented in the officer's report that this guy had a warrant for a few different violent crimes, aggravated assault, as well as weapons charges. And then you're going to be looking at someone's history as well. If they're on parole, probation, what other things they've been charged for in the past. Are they known to fight with law enforcement? You're going to look at all that. You're going to be doing a threat matrix as well, which is going to look at the totality of their criminal activity, the charges that they are currently facing. And then you're going to take those necessary precautions when you're going to execute these warrants. So, they can be extremely dangerous. And that's why whoever comes to the door, you basically need to have them get out of the way almost immediately for safety purposes. So this woman that comes to the door, she clearly heard them say police department and also arrest warrant because she's sitting there saying who who is the arrest warrant for? And also you can detain everybody at that location for safety purposes. You can easily articulate that while you conduct your investigation and search that dwelling for that person or for whatever evidence you're there to collect. That being said, you need to detain her and get her out of the way. And if somebody is causing a commotion, they're getting in the way, they're preventing you from doing your job at these very dangerous situations, they can be charged with obstruction and they can be arrested and taken to jail. Or I've had other cases too where somebody's delaying or preventing cops from doing their jobs at these things and it's because that other person is inside and then they get charged with aiding a fugitive. Also, what this cop told this lady later when she said that, "I told you guys he doesn't live here." And he says, "Well, I can't tell you how many times I've heard that." So, I've heard that a lot myself where somebody comes to the door and they say, "Oh, so and so doesn't live here. They haven't been here in 20 years. Why are you guys even here?" You have them get out of the way. You go in and search and that person is just sitting on the bed in the bedroom. So, obviously, we cannot take the word of complete strangers for somebody residing at a location. That being said, it is incredibly beneficial to do some sort of address verification prior to going to something like this, especially if it's going to take a lot of manpower. And if you're going to have to go out there with a shield and a bunch of cops to serve a warrant like this on a very violent and dangerous individual, you want to look into that at least a little bit prior because when you go to arrest somebody, this cop even says it. They're going to give you an address. It's going to go on your booking sheet. It's also going to go in the cop's report. They're going to ask you, "Where do you get mail? where do you live? And a lot of times people that are career criminals or in and out of the system, they lie. They give a fake address or somewhere they're not affiliated with, they do not reside because the last thing they want is cops going and looking for them later at that location if they actually live there. And that is probably what is happening in this case because both of these people, this woman and this guy, they're both saying, "No, he actually doesn't live here." Could they be lying still? Maybe. Who knows? But I'm just saying that does happen. And that's why it's always important to research that information prior to going to a house. And there are a few different ways to do that. And again, you want to try to do that so that you mitigate or reduce the likelihood of going to a house and having something like this happen where somebody legitimately doesn't live there or they're just not home. And that's going to be it for this one. See you guys in the next one. She was charged with obstruction. [Music]
