On July 22nd, 2023, a Sergeant on patrol in Ohio observed a vehicle displaying erratic behavior, including reversing in an intersection and crossing double yellow lines. A system search of the vehicle's license plate showed the plate had expired in 2018 and had not registered since. Upon following the vehicle, the Sergeant conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Another officer arrived at the scene to assist. As they approached the vehicle, the male driver opened the door, stating his window was broken. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and began arguing and being non-compliant with the Sergeant's orders. An open bottle of Crown Royal whiskey was visible on the passenger seat of the vehicle. Despite repeated requests, the driver refused to provide identification and was reluctant to exit the vehicle. Officers asked the driver if he would participate in Stansiersed Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). The driver continued to be non-compliant and argued with officers during the SFSTs. Based on the evidence, officers placed the suspect under arrest for suspected OVI. After being placed in the back of the patrol car, the suspect began insulting and making rude remarks to the Sergeant. The suspect's behavior continued at the police station. The suspect was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI), OVI Refusal with Prior OVI, Driving Under Suspension (DUS), Improper Backing, Expired License Plates, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. #police #bodycam #cops ~~~ ** Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only.
