On January 19, 2025, Pullman police officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute. Callers reported that two females were fighting at the location. However, when officers arrived, all of the lights were out and no one answered the door at the location. At the same time, Whitman County Sheriff's Deputy Olin stopped a vehicle for speeding. The 21-year-old driver indicated that she had just been involved in a fight and she had a cut lip to prove it. Deputy Olin and Deputy Petersen advised the Pullman Officers that their traffic stop might be related to the domestic dispute call. The Pullman Officers arrived to interview the woman and the two occupants of her vehicle. Meanwhile, Deputy Olin observed the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle and the woman eventually admitted that she had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening. Once the Pullman Officers had finished their interviews and left, Deputy Olin initiated a DUI investigation. The woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which included a portable breath test. The result was 0.171% BAC. The woman was arrested and transported to the Pullman Police holding facility. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.143% BAC. She was eventually transported to the Whitman County Jail, where she was booked for Driving Under the Influence.
