The information below is based on the Akron police report that is available to the public: Akron Police observed the vehicle fail to use its turn signal before 100ft while making an NB turn onto Diagonal Rd. We continued behind the vehicle ran it through the MDT and initiated a traffic stop at Diagonal Rd and Grace Ave by activating our overhead lights and sirens. The vehicle continued EB on Diagonal Rd and the driver signaled with his hand out of the window as if he was going to pull over on a side road. We continued behind the vehicle as it made a NB turn onto Grave Ave. We flickered out sirens on and off and told the driver over the PA system on the cruiser to pull over now. Again the driver signaled with his hand. The driver continued to drive until he pulled into the driveway of Wildwood. Officers approached the driver and gave verbal commands for the driver to unlock his vehicle and get out. The driver argued with officers and demanded to know why he was being stopped. We again gave him more verbal commands to get out of the vehicle, which were again ignored. After giving more verbal commands Officers reached into the vehicle through the open window in an attempt to unlock the door. The driver of the vehicle rolled up the window causing it to trap Officer's left hand in the window. The door was unlocked, and the window was rolled down by Officers. Officers attempted to get the driver out of the vehicle but the driver pulled his hands back and tensed his body. Eventually, the driver got out of the vehicle and was placed into handcuffs. The driver had an active CCW and failed to comply with multiple verbal commands by officers. The driver is being charged with carrying a concealed weapon. The driver was sent to Summit County Jail for the listed charges and cited for turn signal violation. The vehicle was towed away. ⚠️Note: Footage from this video was obtained via the Ohio Public Records Act (R.C. 149.43) All persons featured on the channel are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
