REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage shows Effingham County Sheriff's deputies interviewing a domestic violence victim with visible neck injuries while her 5-year-old son reports ongoing abuse. This bodycam video documents evidence collection and the victim's harrowing account of strangulation and assault. In this police bodycam footage, officers discover that the victim's young son has been reporting the abuse: "Your son's telling people he beats you a lot. And that's a 5-year-old son." When asked about previous incidents and arrests, the victim acknowledges this pattern hasn't been reported before. The bodycam recording captures the victim's detailed account of the assault: "The next thing I know I'm being punched in the throat and I turned and I smacked him and grabbed ahold of my son and threw him on the other side of me. And then he punched me in the jaw and put the truck in drive and the door was still open." She continues describing how "Lane had backed up quite a bit. He wasn't anywhere near the vehicle. He was up by the corner of the building. And then I see Alex's foot come up and I get shoved out" - indicating she was forcibly ejected from a moving vehicle. Most disturbingly, the police bodycam footage documents the victim revealing multiple forms of assault when officers ask specific questions about her injuries. When asked "Did he punch you in the face or did your face hit the ground when he threw you out?" she responds "He punched me in the throat and the face." The officer then asks "Did he choke you?" and requests "Can I see your throat?" The victim reveals "He choked me at home but here he punched me," confirming multiple assaults occurred in different locations. When questioned further about the strangulation, the officers ask "Did you feel like you were going to lose consciousness? Like did you lose air?" to which she responds "Yeah I couldn't breathe. I was fighting." The officer confirms the visible evidence, stating "Well there's obvious signs on your neck that he did choke you. I completely believe you." According to official reports, the Effingham County Sheriff's Office arrested 30-year-old Alexander T. N. Roberts of Neoga following this incident on charges of aggravated domestic battery and child endangerment. This police bodycam footage documents the thorough investigation process, the visible injuries consistent with strangulation, and the officers' efforts to ensure the victim's safety while attempting to locate the suspect.
