On August 17, 2023, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers from the Tampa International Airport Police Department were dispatched to the Southwest Airlines ticketing counter regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with a 21-year-old female, who was observed screaming profanities and throwing her purse on the ground. Despite officers' attempts to de-escalate the situation and multiple requests for her to leave the airport property, she refused to comply and continued her combative behavior. When officers moved to arrest her, she resisted by going limp and screaming for help. This video details the incident report, which resulted in charges of Trespassing in an Occupied Structure and Resisting an Officer Without Violence. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide. #tampa #bodycam #news
