Oceanport, NJ Officers Peacock #57 and Henry #55 responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles at Eatontown Blvd. and Branch Ave., with possible injuries. Upon arrival, they found one vehicle with front end damage and the driver, Stacey, outside her vehicle, and another vehicle, driven by a man, with damage to its driver side front wheel. Both drivers refused medical attention from Oceanport First Aid. During the investigation, the man stated he was backing into his driveway when Stacey struck his vehicle. Stacey, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, stated she was coming from work and collided with the man's vehicle as it was backing into a driveway. Observations of Stacey included the smell of alcohol, slurred speech, watery eyes, and difficulty concentrating. She admitted to consuming alcohol and taking medication. Field sobriety tests were conducted. Stacey failed the One Leg Stand Test and the Walk and Turn Test, showing signs of impairment. Consequently, she was arrested for DWI. At the station, after towing arrangements for her vehicle were made under John's Law, she consented to provide breath samples, which revealed a BAC of 0.191. Stacey was processed, given a court date, and her vehicle was impounded. She was released to a friend and issued the following: 39:4-50 (DWI) 39:4-97 (Careless Driving) 39:4-96 (Reckless Driving) ______________________________________________ All videos and case documents were obtained pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. (P.L. 2001, c. 404). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. This channel is made strictly for educational and news gathering purposes. Not affiliated with any law enforcement agency.
