On July 26, 2025, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Christopher Soto were on the patrol, on the 100 block of Washington Street, when a vehicle pulled out of a parking spot aggressively and almost hit their patrol car. They pulled the car over and as they approached, observed a bottle of tequila in the cup holder. While speaking to the driver, later identified as 22-year-old female of Linden, the officers smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. Police Officer Domenick Allegretta responded to conduct a standardized field sobriety test, after which she was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving. As per John’s Law, she was released into the custody of a responsible party. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
