On November 15, 2024, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Byron stopped a Jeep for allegedly traveling 90 miles per hour (MPH) in a 65-mph zone. The vehicle was being driven by a 21-year-old woman. Trooper Byron commented that the woman had some of the most dilated pupils he had ever seen. As a result, the woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she admitted that she had hit her THC vape pen earlier in the evening. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Ohio Highway Patrol post. In route, she told Trooper Byron all about her prior arrests, including biting a security guard at a concert. She provided a urine specimen and was later released to a sober adult.
