On September 27, 2024, Hoboken Police Officers responded to a traffic collision with injuries. The victims reported the accident to be a hit and run, with the at-fault vehicle fleeing the scene. Several minutes later, a woman approached officers and told them that a woman was passed out in her vehicle around the corner. Officers discovered the 45-year-old woman to be the person who caused the accident. She was heavily intoxicated and could not complete field sobriety testing. She was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Testing, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury, Reckless Driving, Improper Backing, and Failure to Display Vehicle Registration. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
