On October 19, 2024, at approximately 6:25 PM, law enforcement responded to a residence regarding a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, they made contact with the victim, Andrew, who stated he was locked out and had been bitten on the hand by his girlfriend, Christie. According to Andrew’s sworn statement, Christie had called him to come home from a neighbor’s house. When he arrived, Christie began screaming and striking him. In an attempt to defend himself, Andrew raised his hands in front of his face, at which point Christie bit him on his middle finger, which displayed visible injury during the investigation. Andrew reported that he walked out of the residence, where Christie subsequently locked him out. While standing outside, he observed Christie banging her head and face against the wall in the kitchen doorway. Law enforcement then made contact with Christie, who opened the garage side door and appeared visibly injured on the left side of her face, which was swollen. Christie was very animated, repeatedly expressing her desire not to go to jail and mentioning that she was out on bond. Christie alleged that her injuries resulted from Andrew striking her in the face three times. Law enforcement entered the residence and observed significant evidence of a disturbance, including marks on the walls at head height. Additionally, there was evidence in the bathroom and scattered throughout the residence. Upon inspecting Andrew’s hands, no injuries or markings were consistent with Christie’s claims. When asked how her injuries occurred and how blood ended up on the walls, Christie was unable to provide a clear explanation. Based on the observations, law enforcement determined that Christie’s statements were inconsistent with the injuries and evidence present at the scene, unlike Andrew's account. Further investigation revealed that Christie had a prior conviction for battery, making this offense her second.
