Family Tragedy Forces Police to Open Fire... Two disturbing cases in the United States share one terrifying pattern: a son loses control, turns violent against his own parents, and forces police officers to make a life-or-death decision within seconds. The first incident occurred in San Diego, California. Joshua White was accused of chasing his mother with a stick and a knife before barricading himself inside an apartment. He allegedly threw objects at officers, started a fire, and then charged out holding a knife. Three officers fired a total of 34 rounds in approximately two seconds. The second case occurred in Meriden, Connecticut. Robert Lee Jenkins III repeatedly attacked his 69-year-old father with a baseball bat. Even after police arrived, Robert refused to stop. Officer Anthony Ophelia ultimately opened fire to end the attack. Two families. Two tragedies. And two situations where officers had only seconds to decide what to do. This video reconstructs both incidents using police bodycam footage, dashcam video, crime scene evidence, and the final investigative findings.
