On July 16, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers responded to a disturbance call. The reporting party indicated that a man was running up and down the apartment complex holding knives and screaming. Based on previous encounters, Officers knocked on a neighboring door. A man in the apartment came to the door holding 2 knives in his hand. When he refused to drop them, he was tased twice and fell to the floor. He was arrested and charged with (1) 4 felony counts of Aggravated Assault upon a Peace Officer; (2) Assault upon a Peace Officer; (3) Felony Battery Upon a Peace Officer; (4) Disorderly Conduct; and (5) Resisting Arrest. On January 8, 2026, he pleaded no contest to Felony Battery upon a Peace Officer and misdemeanor Assault upon a Peace Officer. All of the other charges were dismissed. His sentence is not listed in online court records.
