All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. What began with an Arkansas State Police trooper attempting to stop a motorcycle without a license plate quickly developed into a dangerous pursuit through Russellville. According to the official report, Trooper Anthony Freeman spotted a maroon 2007 Yamaha FJR1300 traveling east on East Main Street. The motorcycle turned onto Valley Park Drive, and when Freeman activated his emergency lights as the motorcycle returned toward East Main, the rider allegedly turned away and fled. The pursuit rapidly intensified. According to Trooper Freeman, the motorcycle reached approximately 90 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone before turning onto Shamrock Boulevard, where speeds reached approximately 80 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The report states that the motorcycle squeezed through a small opening near a semi-truck before running a stop sign and continuing onto AR-331. The rider allegedly continued through a red light, returned to East Main Street, and repeatedly changed direction as troopers attempted to contain the pursuit. Things became even more intense when another Arkansas State Police unit attempted to cut off the motorcycle. The report says the rider split between two vehicles, struck the driver's-side mirror of one of them, continued through traffic, and ran another red light. Speeds again reportedly reached approximately 90 MPH. From there, the pursuit moved toward North Elmira and a business parking lot, setting up another dramatic sequence between the motorcycle and pursuing troopers.
